Chapter 39

Scary

Destined with Fate ♡

Advika's POV

I was scrolling through my phone when a notification from the business news app caught my eye: "Mr. Raghav Ahuja has returned to Udaipur after two years." A devilish smile crept onto my face as I stared at the screen. The name alone reignited a fire within me, and I couldn’t help but let my mind drift back to that day.

Two years ago, I was sitting in court, my hands clenched tightly in my lap. My uncle, aunt, and best friend sat beside me, offering silent support, while across the room sat the three vile culprits responsible for my parents' murder. The urge to leap across the courtroom and destroy them with my bare hands was almost unbearable. But I controlled myself. I knew better. I had spent months gathering irrefutable evidence against them, handing over every shred to ACP sir with the hope that justice would finally prevail.

Today was supposed to be the day I won. The day my parents’ souls finally found peace.

But as soon as the hearing began, everything crumbled. My so-called lawyer—the one I trusted with my case—turned his back on me. Worse, the ACP, the man who swore to serve justice, betrayed me too.

The proofs I had painstakingly collected? Rendered useless. It was as if the entire courtroom had been bought, manipulated, and twisted against me. My heart sank as I realized they had all conspired to let those monsters walk free.

That day, I didn’t just lose the case. I lost faith in the system. But more importantly, I made a promise to myself.

And now, as I stared at Raghav Ahuja’s name on the screen, the same man whose power and influence played a role in that betrayal, my resolve solidified.

This time, I won't let anyone stop me

I have waited two years for this moment. Two long years of pain, planning, and patience. And now, the time has come.

I stared at the notification on my phone again: "Mr. Raghav Ahuja has returned to Udaipur after two years." A shiver of determination ran through me as I gripped the phone tightly.

Two of the three monsters who ruined my life and took my parents from me are already gone. They paid for their sins in the most fitting ways possible. Each time, I felt a small piece of justice restored, a small part of my soul healed.

But Raghav... he’s the last one. The man who orchestrated the entire betrayal, who ensured that justice was denied, and who dared to think he could get away with it.

Not this time.

The thought of him walking free, living his life as if he hadn’t destroyed mine, sickens me. But soon, it’ll all be over. Soon, I’ll end this nightmare. I’ll make sure Raghav Ahuja pays for what he did.

And when I do, my parents will finally get the justice they deserve.

I closed the app and set my phone down, my resolve stronger than ever. This isn’t just revenge it’s justice. And I’ll stop at nothing to make it happen.

My thoughts were abruptly interrupted when Maa and Sarah entered the room, their faces lit with excitement. "Advika, it's time to start getting ready!" Maa said with a warm smile. It was only then I remembered amidst all the drama with Dadi and now the unsettling thoughts about Raghav ,I had completely forgotten that tonight was mine and Vivan's reception party.

I quickly grabbed my beautiful lehenga from the wardrobe and headed to the closet to change. The intricate embroidery and the deep shade of crimson made it look nothing short of royal. Once I was dressed, I stepped out to see the beauticians waiting for me. They wasted no time dolling me up, carefully working on my hair and makeup. Though my neck ached from sitting still for what felt like hours, the moment I glanced at the mirror, I was in awe.

I looked... stunning. The makeup perfectly complemented the lehenga, and the soft curls framing my face made me feel like a queen. For a moment, I couldn’t take my eyes off my reflection.

Just then, Khushi and Akshit barged into the room. Khushi’s eyes widened in dramatic disbelief, and she squealed, "Oh my god, Bhabhi! You’re looking absolutely gorgeous!"

Meanwhile, Akshit, ever the joker, added, "Bhabhi, kaash aapki koi chhoti behan bhi hoti!" His mischievous grin made all of us burst into laughter. Their reactions were so wholesome that I couldn’t stop smiling.

But amidst all this, I found myself anxiously waiting for one reaction in particular Vivan's. I wanted to see how he would react when he saw me tonight.

And his reaction was worth every second of anticipation. As I walked down the grand staircase, Vivan was deep in conversation with someone. The moment his eyes landed on me, he stopped mid-sentence. His expression changed from distracted to utterly mesmerized.

And then, the best part—he tripped on his steps!

I bit my lip to stifle my laughter as he tried to recover his composure, but the look of amazement on his face said it all. That moment, for just a little while, made me forget everything else.

Vivan wasn’t looking any less than a prince in his white and black tuxedo. The perfectly tailored suit highlighted his sharp features and confident demeanor. For a moment, I found myself unable to look away. As I descended the stairs, his eyes never left mine, and the intensity of his gaze sent a flutter of butterflies swirling in my stomach.

Then, as if drawn by some invisible force, he started walking toward me. Each step he took was measured and confident, but his eyes held something deeper—an unspoken admiration.

When he reached me, he extended his hand with a charming smile. I smiled back, my heart racing, and placed my hand in his. His touch was warm and steady, grounding me in a moment that felt like a dream.

The first thing he did, as expected, was compliment me. His voice was soft but filled with genuine admiration as he said, "You look breathtaking, Advika. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone as beautiful as you."

His words made my cheeks warm, and I could feel a blush creeping up. I managed a small smile and replied, "And you’re not looking too bad yourself, Mr. Raichand. Quite princely, I must say."

He chuckled, a low and rich sound that made my heart skip a beat. The way he looked at me at that moment made me feel like the most special person in the world.

After his sweet compliment, Vivan gently took my hand and led me through the crowd. He guided me toward a group of people, his hand resting firmly on my bare back. The warmth of his touch sent shivers down my spine, and I couldn’t help but feel a mix of nervousness and excitement.

As we reached the group, he began introducing me to everyone with so much pride in his voice. "Meet my wife, Advika," he said, his tone filled with adoration. The way he emphasized "my wife" made my heart flutter.

I greeted everyone with a polite smile, but I was more focused on Vivan's presence beside me. His hand never left my back, as if silently reassuring me that he was right there. His confidence and the way he spoke about me made me feel special, like I truly belonged in his world.

With every introduction, his gaze would briefly meet mine, a soft smile playing on his lips, making me realize just how proud he was to have me by his side. It was a moment I wouldn’t forget, a memory etched deep in my heart.

VIVAN'S POV:

The moment I saw Advika descending the stairs, my breath caught. She looked breathtaking, leaving me utterly speechless. In my distraction, I even managed to trip on my own steps. Quickly composing myself, I made my way toward her, offered my hand, and complimented her. Her smile made my heart skip a beat.

I led her toward a group of business acquaintances, introducing her as my wife with immense pride. Everything was going smoothly until I heard an irritatingly familiar voice. Turning around, I saw Maya walking toward me. For a brief moment, memories of the chaos she caused last time flashed in my mind, and I felt a flicker of nervousness.

But then, I remembered the unexpected but delightful consequence of that day—Advika calling me "jaan." Hoping for a repeat, I decided to play along. Maya hugged me, much to my annoyance, and I waited, expecting Advika to snap at her or, at the very least, call me "jaan" again.

To my surprise, she did neither. Instead, she just stood there, calm and collected, while I glanced at her in confusion. Sensing my bewilderment, she leaned close and whispered into my ear, her tone both sweet and threatening.

"I’m not going to do anything now," she said with a smirk.

I whisperedly asked her, "Why?"

She replied with a mischievous glint in her eyes, "Because now you’re my husband. And if any girl dares to flirt with you, I’ll shoot you first and then deal with her."

Her smirk grew wider, and I could only stare at her, a mix of admiration and fear bubbling inside me. Without saying another word, I excused myself and walked away, slightly scared of her.

I was deep in conversation with some business associates when I felt a pat on my shoulder. Turning around, I found Raghav Ahuja standing beside me. I gave him a polite smile and said, "Good to see you, man. Thanks for coming."

He smirked and replied, "Aren't you going to introduce me to your wife?"

I nodded, gesturing for him to follow me, and walked toward where Advika was standing. She was engrossed in a conversation, her face turned away. I called her name softly, and she turned toward me with her signature radiant smile, but the moment her eyes landed on Raghav, her expression changed drastically.

Her smile vanished, her face turned pale, and a storm of emotions flashed through her eyes—anger, fear, and something else I couldn’t quite place. I turned to Raghav, puzzled, and noticed a smug, knowing smile spreading across his face.

He folded his hands mockingly and said, "Namaste, Bhabhi ji."

Advika’s fists clenched tightly, her knuckles white, and her breathing grew heavier. Anger flared in her eyes, and I could see her struggling to keep control. Without saying a word, she turned on her heel and stormed out of the hall, leaving everyone around us stunned.

A hushed silence fell as people exchanged confused glances. I looked at Raghav, who still had that infuriating smile plastered on his face. Something was definitely wrong, and I intended to get to the bottom of it. Without wasting another second, I excused myself and hurried after Advika.
