Vivan's Raichand
I stepped out of the bathroom in just a towel, assuming Advika would already be gone. But to my surprise, she was still in the room. The moment I entered, her eyes were fixed on me, her gaze lingering a little too long. I smirked and teased, "Like what you see?" She immediately turned away, her cheeks flushed, making me chuckle at her reaction.
As I casually started getting dressed, I noticed her glancing at me from the corner of her eye. Once I was done, I walked up to her and asked, "What happened?"
With a hint of nervousness, she replied, "We're going outside together."
I was momentarily shocked, wondering what had brought this on so suddenly. Seeing the tension on her face, I asked her to explain, and she told me everything that had happened.
I was laughing internally, not because of what she told me, but because of how adorably nervous she was. Her hands fidgeted, her gaze darting everywhere except at me, and her words came out in a hurried jumble. It was impossible not to find her absolutely endearing at that moment.
I gently squeezed her hand and said, "Relax, Iâll handle everything." Just then, I heard someone calling me from outside. I told her, "We should go," and suggested she walk ahead. But to my surprise, she shook her head vehemently, signaling a firm no, and motioned for me to go first instead. Trying to hold back my laughter at her adorable stubbornness, I nodded and led the way, amused by her every reaction.
Then we stepped outside and found everyone already gathered around the dining table, waiting for us. The moment they saw us, their faces lit up with teasing smiles. My cousins, in particular, were giving me smug, knowing looks that screamed mischief. I could already sense the incoming wave of playful jabs and couldn't help but smirk back, bracing myself for their antics.
Now I finally understood why Advika was so nervous earlier. Honestly, my family is a bit of a gone caseâI know that all too well. As we walked towards the dining table, I pulled a chair out for Advika to sit, trying to be a gentleman. But before she could even sit down, I heard a loud, collective âAww.â
I turned to look at everyone, only to find them grinning at us with teasing smiles. Mom, of course, was dramatically doing nazar utarna with her hand, while Advika, completely flustered, quickly sat down, her cheeks turning a deep shade of red.
I could feel my own irritation bubbling up. I wanted to yell at all of them to stop embarrassing her and making her more nervous. But before I could say a word, Dad, thankfully, stepped in. âAlright, thatâs enough. Let them eat in peace,â he said, putting an end to the momentary chaos.
I sighed, sitting down beside her, but before I could even settle, Sarah leaned forward, grinning like the mischief-maker she is. âBhabhi, first night and the bed is already broken? Impressive!â
I raised a brow, hoping that would shut her up, but of course, Akshit couldnât resist adding his two cents.
Vivan bro , first and already the bed surrender what a performance bro"
"We thought the wedding would break the records not the furniture" agam said teasingly and I really want to smash his face , firstly I don't know what the hell he is doing here in the morning.
I groaned internally. Why do I even have cousins?
But my dad decided to join the fun, chuckling as he said, âVivan, looks like weâll need to order new furniture. After you, even the Raichand Mansionâs durability standards are failing.â
I glanced at Advika, and if possible, her face had turned even redder. She looked like she wanted to disappear. I was torn between laughing and yelling at everyone to stop.
And then Sarah had to add fuel to the fire. âBhabhi, weâll need to hear the full bed-breaking story in detail.â
I leaned back, smirking. Alright, you want to play? Letâs play. Looking at them with a calm yet cocky expression, I replied âKya karun, Raichand hoon. Chaahe business ho ya bedroom, impact toh banana padta hai.â(âWhat can I do? Iâm a Raichand. Whether itâs business or the bedroom, I have to make an impact.â)
For a second, there was silence. Then chaos. Akshit almost choked on his juice, Sarah burst out laughing, and even my dad laughed so hard he had to wipe his eyes.
âVivan!â Advika hissed, looking at me like Iâd just declared war. I just shrugged, my smirk growing wider.
Sarah fanned herself dramatically. âLook at bhaiâs confidence! Bhabhi, will you be able to handle it?â
I chuckled. âConfidence is in my genes, Sarah. You wouldnât understand.â
And of course, my dad had to throw in one last jab. âJust donât make too much of an impact, beta. We still have a furniture budget to consider.â
I couldnât hold back my laughter as I turned to Advika, who now had her face buried in her hands. If I had to guess, she was probably thinking about ways to escape this madhouse. But as I looked at her, flustered and shy, I couldnât help but feel a little smug. After all, it was our story they were teasing about.
As the teasing session continued, Agamâs phone pinged with a message. He glanced at it, then looked at me with a serious expression. I raised my brows, silently asking what was wrong. Without saying a word, he motioned for me to follow him, and he quietly left the room. I got up and followed him, sensing the sudden shift in the atmosphere.
Once outside, Agam showed me the message on his phone. My heart sank as I read it. The message was urgent, and my mind raced with the possibilities.
I couldnât take my eyes off the screen as I looked back at him. âWe need to go to the office now,â I said, my voice steady but my mind in turmoil.
We made our way back inside to say our goodbyes. I explained to everyone that something urgent had come up, and we had to leave. Advika, still confused, looked at me with a questioning gaze, but I gave her a reassuring smile, hoping to calm her nerves.
My family, especially my mom, tried to stop me, reminding me that it was my first day after marriage. But just as I was about to say something, Dad interrupted, âLet them go. Theyâll be back soon.â His words silenced everyone, and with that, Agam and I headed out.
Agam took the keys from my hand, and without another word, he got into the driverâs seat and drove us to the office.
When I entered the office, everyone was shockedâof course, they would be. They never imagined I would show up the day after my marriage. As I stepped onto my floor, a heavy silence fell, and I heard a few "Good mornings" from my colleagues. I didnât care to acknowledge anyone and directly went to my cabin. Agam followed me in, when I turned to ask where he is, Agam responded, "He'll be here in a minute."
Those minutes felt like an eternity. Finally, the door opened, and he walked in, He walked up to me, and I stood up from my chair to greet him with a smile.
"Iâll help you," he said finally, and those four words filled me with a sense of relief and determination. I was one step closer to completing my fatherâs revenge, and I knew this partnership was going to be critical in making it happen.
I looked back at him with a smug smile. "Well then, we are in a team, Mr. Raghav Ahuja."
The game has begun now...
