Earings
Destined with Fate ♡
Advika's Pov:
I stepped out of the bathroom, adjusting the soft blue pallu of my saree, I couldnât help but feel the heat rise to my cheeks. The saree was simple yet elegant, its silver floral embroidery shimmering lightly in the soft sunlight streaming through the window. I knew I looked fine, but his gaze made me question everything.
There he was, leaning against the headrest of the bed, his eyes locked on me with an intensity that made my heart race. That playful smirk tugging at his lips didnât help either.
I avoided his stare, busying myself by rummaging through my bag. I pulled out the bangles, bindi, sindur, and mangalsutra, preparing to wear them. Stay calm, Advika, I told myself, but the broken bed and messy room made it impossible to ignore the teasing grin I knew he was giving me. My cheeks were burning by now.
I was about to move toward the mirror when I felt his hand wrap gently around my wrist. My breath hitched. Turning, I found him standing in front of me, his tall frame blocking my path. His eyes held a mixture of teasing and something elseâsomething deeper, something that made my heart stumble.
"Main help karun pehnana mai"(Should I help you wear all of this?) he asked, his voice deep and smooth, dripping with mischief.
My heart skipped. What? My mind blanked for a second as I glanced at the items in my hand like bangles, sindur, mangalsutra and then back at him. His expression was calm, but that mischievous glint in his eyes was impossible to miss.
I could feel the heat creeping up my neck to my ears. Is he serious? Is he really offering to help me? Or is this just another one of his ways to tease me?
My thoughts swirled as I averted my gaze, my heart thudding loud enough for him to hearâor so it felt. I didnât know how to respond, but his words created a flutter in my stomach, a warmth that both embarrassed and delighted me.
Before I could even react, images flashed through my mindâhim putting sindur on my forehead, clasping the mangalsutra around my neckâand I could feel my cheeks burn even more. I looked away quickly, my pulse racing. Why does he always have this effect on me?
Before I could say anything, he gently took the bangles from my hand, his fingers brushing against mine, sending a shiver down my spine. My breath hitched as he crouched slightly, carefully slipping the bangles onto my wrist, one by one. His touch was light, almost reverent, as if he were handling something precious.
I couldnât bring myself to meet his eyes. My gaze fixated on his hands strong, steady, yet tender. The clinking sound of the bangles echoed in the silence of the room, mingling with the erratic rhythm of my heartbeat.
Then he moved on to the sindur. I froze as he picked up the small box, his eyes flickering to meet mine. There was something in his gaze adoration, perhaps? He opened the box and carefully took a pinch of the crimson powder. My breathing became shallow as he stepped closer, leaning in. His hand hovered just above my forehead, waiting for a silent nod of approval.
I couldnât stop myself. I nodded ever so slightly, and he placed the sindur in the parting of my hair with the utmost care. His eyes never left mine, and for a moment, it felt as though the entire world had disappeared, leaving just the two of us.
Finally, he reached for the mangalsutra. My hands trembled as he unclasped it. He stepped behind me, the cold metal brushing against my skin as he placed it around my neck. His fingers lingered for a moment as he fastened it, his breath warm against the back of my neck.
âThere,â he said softly, stepping back to admire his work.
I finally dared to look at him, my heart full and my cheeks flushed. The teasing smirk was gone, replaced by an expression so sincere it made my chest tighten.
I wanted to say something, but the words wouldnât come. All I could do was lower my gaze, overwhelmed by the moment. He had turned a simple act into something profound, something unforgettable.
As I felt his arms tighten around me, my pulse quickened, and my mind went blank. I looked at him through the mirror, his soft smile making my heart flutter and my nerves spiral. His gaze was intense, yet tender, as if he could see right through me, reading all the thoughts I tried to hide.
âW-what?â I stammered, my voice barely audible as I tried to compose myself, my hands lightly pressing against his arms in an attempt to free myself.
âYou forgot something,â he whispered, his voice low and teasing, his breath brushing against my ear. His nose gently grazed the shell of my ear, sending shivers down my spine. My grip on his arms faltered, and I found myself leaning into him despite my best efforts.
âIâI didnât forget anything,â I managed to say, though my voice betrayed my nervousness.
âAre you sure?â he murmured, his lips dangerously close to my ear, his tone laced with mischief. His fingers brushed against my waist, sending waves of warmth through me.
I glanced back at him in the mirror, trying to steady my breath. But the way he looked at me so full of love, playfulness, and something deeper made it impossible to focus.
âWhat did I forget?â I whispered back, though a part of me already knew.
His smile deepened, and he leaned in closer, his cheek brushing against mine as he whispered, âYour earings.â
As soon as he said, "You forgot your earrings," I nodded quickly, already turning to head towards my bag. But before I could take a step, his hand gently caught my wrist, halting me in my tracks.
âWait,â he said, his voice laced with a mix of excitement and playfulness. âI have a surprise for you.â
Curiosity sparked in my eyes as I looked at him, wondering what he was up to now. Without another word, he led me towards his walk-in closet. At first glance, it looked just like what Iâd expectârows of his neatly arranged clothes, shoes perfectly aligned, everything screaming of his meticulousness. But then, my eyes landed on a section with empty cupboards.
For a moment, my thoughts ran wild. Are these...mine? I wondered silently, my heart fluttering at the idea.
Before I could say anything, he walked over to one of the cupboards and opened it with a dramatic flair. My jaw practically dropped when I saw what was inside.
A wardrobe full of jhumka earringsâsmall ones, big ones, traditional designs, modern styles, colorful, minimalist, and everything in between. The light shimmered off the collection, making it seem like a treasure trove of sparkling delights.
I gasped, unable to contain my excitement as I stepped closer, my eyes wide with disbelief and joy. âThis⦠this isâ¦â I stammered, completely overwhelmed.
I remembered that day when I casually told me how I wanted every single earing and then I looked these earings they are same exactly same he actually brought all those warinyand there are even more earings
He stood there, leaning casually against the cupboard with a proud smile on his face, clearly enjoying my reaction.
I reached out, touching a pair of delicate silver jhumkas with intricate detailing, my fingers trembling slightly from the sheer joy I felt. This was more than a surprise; it was thoughtful, personal, and...perfect.
Turning to him, I saw the way he was watching me, his gaze filled with a quiet satisfaction as if this was exactly the reaction heâd hoped for. Unable to help myself, I broke into the widest smile and turned back to admire my unexpected treasure trove. For the first time in a long while, I felt like a princess in her own fairy tale.
I couldnât contain my excitement anymore and threw my arms around him in a tight hug. His chuckle vibrated against me as he leaned down to whisper in my ear, âIf giving surprises means getting a hug like this every day, then Iâm ready to surprise you daily.â
A soft laugh escaped my lips as I pulled back slightly to look at him. His hands, still resting firmly on my arms, sent a warmth through me. There was something about the way he held meâsteady and reassuring, yet so intoxicating.
But then, the moment shifted. His gaze dropped to my lips, lingering there, and I saw the softness in his eyes transform into something more intenseâdesire. My breath hitched, and I felt like my heart was racing a marathon.
The air between us thickened, and the room suddenly felt too warm. My knees felt weak as if his mere look was enough to melt me into a puddle. He hadnât moved a muscle, yet the tension between us was undeniable, charged, and electric.
My lips parted slightly as I tried to steady my breathing, but his piercing gaze never wavered, making it impossible to think straight. The sweet, playful moment weâd shared just seconds ago had turned into something far more intimate and magnetic, leaving me completely at his mercy.
He started leaning closer, his eyes locked onto mine, making my heartbeat louder than ever. The moment his lips brushed against mine, it felt like time had stopped. His touch was soft yet electrifying, sending a shiver down my spine. Just as he was about to deepen the kiss, a sudden knock on the door startled both of us.
He groaned in frustration, running a hand through his hair, clearly annoyed at the interruption. Meanwhile, I took the opportunity to escape, my cheeks burning with embarrassment. I quickly turned away, unable to look at him, and rushed out of the closet, trying to hide my blushing face.
I opened the door to find all of Vivan's cousins standing there with bright smiles plastered on their faces. They looked at me, their eyes lighting up even more, and I hesitated for a moment before pulling the door ajar to let them in. Their gazes immediately shifted past me, landing on Vivan, who had just stepped out of the closet.
Akshit, being his usual casual self, greeted, "What's up, bhai?"
Before he could say anything else, Vivan shouted, startling Akshit and leaving him with a confused expression, clearly wondering what he'd done wrong. Meanwhile, it took everything in me to stop myself from bursting out laughing at the whole situation.
Frustrated, Vivan said, "You all carry on with your nonsense," throwing a pointed glance at his cousins, before turning to me with a smirk.
"I'll go take a shower," he said, emphasizing the word teasingly. The moment it left his lips, my cheeks turned crimson, knowing exactly what he meant. His playful smirk only made it worse, and I quickly looked away, trying to compose myself as he walked into the bathroom, slamming the door behind him.
I was lost in my own thoughts, my cheeks still flushed, trying to control my emotions, when I heard Sarah's excited voice. "Well, well, guys, look at this! Seems like bhai and bhabhi had a great night," she said, pointing towards the broken bed. Everyone turned to look at me, their faces filled with teasing smiles. They were all taking it the wrong way, and I tried to stop them, to explain that it wasn't what they were thinking... But before I could say anything, they all ran out, laughing and shouting, "Bhabhi, hurry up! Everyone's waiting for you!"
And I knew I was in deep trouble. It was so embarrassing, it felt like the ground should just open up and swallow me whole. I definitely wasn't going outside alone.
I sat there, waiting for him, and when he finally came out, I couldn't help but stare. The water was still dripping from his hair, and he looked so hot. I was so caught up in how perfect he looked that I didn't even realize I was staring until he broke the silence. "Liked what you see?" he teased, pulling me out of my trance. Embarrassed, I quickly looked away. He chuckled and casually asked, "What happened?"
He came in front of me, and that's when I realized I had to tell him. With a nervous but determined smile, I said, "Weâre going outside together."
He looked at me with a confused smile, clearly unsure about what I meant.
