Chapter 37

#36 I said I am not leaving her!

The Girl Gang Leader

Stefan's POV

I was in the hallway, when I started feeling suspicious. Something was not right. Where is everybody? It was too silent around. Suddenly, I heard something roll and I felt it stop at my leg. Hardly had I looked down to see what it was when smoke emerged out of it. It was a smoke bomb. I started coughing a the smoke went into my nose and mouth. I heard some gun shots. Great! We are being attacked.

Trying to see through the smoke, I walked up to the nearest room and opened it, only to see many of my men knocked out. They needed immediate medical help. I quickly called Ryan. "Get the medical team to Room 207. It's code 101." I announced and ended the call.

Whoever this was, he must be very smart. It is very difficult to get in without being noticed. I quickly picked up the gun which was fallen down and reloaded it. Hardly had I stepped out of the room when the gun was kicked out of my hand. "Hello Thompson." I heard an Australian accent. These are the Elites.

"Hello whoever you are." I rolled my eyes. "I would introduce myself. But the leader of the Elites is all you need to know." She smirked. The Australian accent sound so different yet so familiar. It's like I have heard it before. I should be able to recognize it. I was snapped out of my thoughts when she threw her gun away, which landed beside my gun.

"I have no gun. You have no gun. Whoever gets to the gun first, gets to shoot the other person." She challenged. "I don't hit women." I glared at her. "Well, I hit men." And with that, a punch glanced my chin. I noticed too late that it was a feint, though, when the second punch doubled me over and expelled some of the choked air from my belly.

It was a heck of a shot. I noticed a fair amount of pain with the gut-shot, which was something I wasn't used to. The shot also told me that she was one hell of a fighter. And she reminded my of Princess. How she used to punch me whenever I tried to kiss her.

Get Princess out of your head. You are in a fight. My brain was right. And after all, the Elites and the agreement were the reason I had lost her. "Well, now you are going to pay." I glared at her.

I stood straight, my eyes bulging with rage, and stared at my opponent- the leader of the Elites- only her ocean blue eyes and her pink lips visible through her mask, which was covering the rest of her face, making it difficult to recognize her. Her eyes looked so much like Princess'. F*ck! I really have to get her out of my head. I was snapped back to reality when I felt another punch in my stomach.

"You...are..." I took a lurching step forward with each word. On the third, I swung: "Dead!"

The blow felt too sluggish. I knew the second I had launched it. The spry, smirking female ducked under it. Before I could even register the dodge, however, another body shot, this one to my ribs, sent fresh ripples of pain through my torso. I made absolutely sure I did not fall—but I was a lot closer than I liked.

She went in for another shot but I shoved her off. Seeing the her scoot back so far against my weight, I realized she was already very hurt. And this wasn't a fair fight. But I don't care. I covered the distance between us and threw three more punches that did land. She fell.

"You are good Thompson. Just not as good." She smirked. "Don't you see you are losing. Give up." I suggested, which only made her laugh and me confused. "The Elites don't give up." She said as she stood up. "Especially not when someone breaks their trust and has to pay."

"You are the one to talk." I smugly replied as reached out for the gun. But as I was about to pick it up, I was kicked in the back, making me lose my balance and fall down on my face. I heard her laughter which made me more angry than I already was. "Is little Stefie unable to stand?" She laughed.

'Little Stefie.' That's what Princess used to tease me with before this person standing in front of me messed it up. Get Princess out of your head. If you have any chance of getting her back, you have to kill this person first. Again, my brain was right. Let's end this. Once and for all. I picked up my gun and stood up, holding the gun straight towards her, only to find her mirroring my actions. She had a gun pointed right towards me.

It was at this time I realized that I was pretty badly hurt. This had never been the case. The blood on my knuckles would always be of my opponent. This girl was a heck of a fighter. Too bad I was going to kill her. But then something hit me. She hadn't shot me yet. Why?

I don't understand why she wasn't shooting me. And why was I even waiting? I cocked the gun and aimed it at her chest. That would clearly kill her and I would get the satisfaction of taking the revenge for hurting so many of us.

I was going to pull the trigger but suddenly her eyes turned away. She was lowering her gun. What the f*ck is happening? Why do you care? Shoot her!  Why did she fight me only to lower her gun? But then suddenly she raised her gun and shot towards my direction.

I also pulled the trigger. But it was at that exact moment when my hand was pushed away and my aim was missed. The bullet went to her stomach, rather than the chest. That was not going to kill her! I turned around, ready to kill the person who did this, only to see Ryan. He was the one who pushed my arm!?!

"You'll regret it." He calmly said. How can be so calm when he was the one who didn't allow me to shoot? "What do you mean I'll regret it?" But then it clicked me that even she shot a bullet. The impact never came.

I turned around to see one of us, fallen on the ground. He was shot on his leg. I went to check on him, but he raised his gun towards me. Why is he trying to shoot me!?! My thoughts were interrupted by another gun shot. I person laying in front of me was shot. What the f*ck is going on!?! I turned to see the gang leader of Elites, passed out holding a gun. Wait- She was the one to shoot him and save my life? Why!?!

I turned to Ryan. "Why do you not let me to shoot her?" I asked. Then he pointed towards another one of the Elites. She was coming towards us. I quickly bent, as a reflex, to pick up my gun to shoot her. But Ryan kicked the gun away. "What the F*ck!?!" She came here and removed her mask. Why would she do that? Isn't secrecy the most important thing for the Elites? She took her mask off and revealed herself. And I saw the person whom I least expected to see.

"What the F*ck are you doing here, Selena? And what's with the mask? You are supposed to be in Australia or with Princess. Ryan, why didn't you tell me that you told Selena about us?" I was freaking out.

"Shut up. You are not allowed to tell me what I am supposed to do. And Ryan didn't tell me about you guys. I found out on my own. I am one of the Elites, Stefan." My eyes went wide. What!?! That means she was the one to place the bomb at the clubhouse during the party.

"Why did you try to kill us by placing that bomb in my clubhouse during the twin's birthday, putting us all in danger?" I furiously asked, taking a step forward, ready to pounce on her. But Ryan immediately stepped in between. On whose side is he, exactly? "We never did that! The Elites are never the ones to start a fight. You are the ones who burned Nessa's house in Australia and killed her mother." Selena glared at me.

What!? This is getting ridiculous! "Why would we do that? The Kings don't even enter Australia. That was the agreement remember?" I glared at her. "I remember the agreement very well. And you clearly don't know what your gang does. How do you explain this?" She handed me a tablet, which had the details of all the flight members entering Australia in the past five days. There was a name highlighted.

Kevin James. Kevin? What the f*ck was he doing in Australia? My head quickly snapped in the direction of the person who was trying to kill me. I went to him and removed his mask, revealing Kevin. That f*cking traitor. "Stefan stop!" Ryan quickly snatched the gun, which I didn't even realize I had picked up and had pointed towards the laying body of Kevin.

"I don't think he is the only person behind all of this. And if we want some answers we need him alive." Selena stated. She was right. "Get him to the hospital." I ordered on of the members who wasn't hurt. He picked Kevin up and made his way out.

"But there is one thing I still don't understand about this situation. What has Princess' mom's death to do with all this?" I asked. "She was the leader of the Elites before Nessa." Selena informed. Wait a minute. "Princess-" "Is the Leader of the Elites." And that's when my eyes darted towards the almost dead body of the leader of the Elites. "Oh My God!"

Selena ran towards her and sat down beside her. She removed her mask revealing Princess. No. No. No. No. This is not happening right now. Please tell me this is not happening right now. "She is not breathing." Selena mumbled. I killed her.

I stood there, without moving. I was just staring at her body. Her blood was all over the place. I couldn't believe what I had done. I killed my Princess. And even when she was dying, she tried to save my life. I could not believe what mistake I had done. My knees buckled and collapsed on the ground. And then everything went black.

**********

"Dad, I said I am not leaving her!" I shouted at my dad. After the horrible incidents, I was taken to the hospital. I woke up the next day. The doctor's said that I fainted due to shock. Ryan told me Kevin had entered into a coma. We would have to wait until he wakes up for all the answers. And for Princess. Well, doctors don't know what is going on with her. They also said that if she does not wake up in the next two weeks, there would be no hope left.

"She is the Elites, Stefan. We do not mix with them." My dad glared at me. I was discharged the next day. And since that day I haven't left Princess' room. And my dad has been continuously trying to convince me to leave her. He is not keen on me making friendships with people from other gangs. But I am not leaving her.

"Stefan-" "Dad. I am not leaving her until she wakes up. And that is final." I stated. "And what if she doesn't?" He glared at me. "She will." I sighed. "She tried to kill you." "She saved my life." "But she was the one who tried to kill you in the first place." My dad growled. "Hey! That's my sister you are talking about." Ethan shouted from nowhere.

"Whatever. If anything happens, it's on you son." And with that, he left. "I think she is taking revenge from me." Ethan sighed, as he stroked her hair. "Revenge for what?" I asked. "When I was in the hospital, she was- well, not at her best. Now, she is making me go through all of it." He said as he bent and kissed her forehead.

I slightly chuckled. "Well, I am going to grab a coffee. Want one?" He asked. I just nodded as he walked out of the room. I sighed as I kissed the back of Princess' hand and rested my head on the bed. And that's when I felt it. Some movement around me. At first I thought I was hallucinating. But then I looked up to see the eyes I longed to see so many days.

She was awake. She was there, her pale blue eyes shining under the light of the room. But these beautiful eyes were filled with confusion. Why was she not saying anything? To my disappointment, she snatched her hand away from mine. "Princess?" I slowly called. And then she said the words which broke my heart into million pieces.

"Do I know you?"
