Chapter 10

The Blacksmith's Oath

Before she could get those questions answered, the flame shot forward in an instant and covered her from head to toe. Marion was expecting to literally feel the burn.

In the next instant the fire was absorbed, and Marion could feel a massive influx of energy.

A series of window notifications popped up.

[Level up! Choose your class.]

[Divine Spark absorbed]

[Classes have been changed]

Marion quickly drowned in choices. There were a few that stood out. For instance, Dark Reaper. That was about disappearing into the shadows and striking from somewhere else. Marion felt there was more to it than just the description though.

Marion always trusted her intuition and it told her that she should choose Dark Reaper.

So, that is what she did.

Marion decided to look at her status screen.

Shadow Sense

“Cool skill, but what do you mean that shadows can have senses?” Marion cried out, confused.

Marion took a moment to center herself and tried to feel a shadow in the greenhouse, but nothing happened.

“Well that is just frustrating..”

With the fight taken care of, it was time to loot the place.

There were several tattered journals scattered across the table, when Marion went through them it was clear Inigo had fully gone mad.

There was even one entry about possibly pulling a coup on Lilith. It made Marion roll her eyes so hard. She tossed the last journal on the table and deciding she didn’t want anything to do with anything else she turned around, getting ready to leave.

Something pulled at the corner of her mind, telling her she was missing something huge.

Marion took a deeper look and found this giant plant. It looked like a cross between a pumpkin and an eggplant. When she got closer to the plant, the fruit fell off the stem and hit the floor with a solid thud.

{Identify} told her it was called Primal Fruit. There wasn’t much more of a description than that though.

When Marion picked up the fruit she could feel a faint connection, so she put it in a side pocket.

A window suddenly popped up.

[New Quest!]

{Destroy research materials}

{Reward; 3 skill points}

That sounds easy enough Marion thought.

She grabbed a shovel and dug a hole that was big and deep enough to fit all the papers. Once done, she grabbed all the journals and loose papers then put them in the hole.

It was only a matter of moments before she was able to start a fire with her flint.

WOOOOSHH!

The papers instantly went up in flames.

She got the notification for the quest completion and put those three points in her two lowest stats

Now that's done, it is time to get to the next town. Marion knew she would probably get distracted by something big and/or shiny.
