Getting the girl had been easier than he'd imagined.

He'd timed his arrival with several other parents, so that no-one would pay too much attention to him.

She'd been willing enough to go with him at first. His disguise had been brilliant, to have her believing he was her father as he took her.

Once she realised he wasn't her dad, he'd had to subdue her.

He hadn't planned on her wearing her school coat; he'd intended on keeping her somewhere quiet for a few weeks, until the fuss had died down, and then take her abroad.

Unfortunately, her coat was far too recognisable.

He'd had to venture into a shop with her, and knew he'd been captured on CCTV. He'd kept on his disguise, however, so there was no chance of anyone recognising him for who he really was.

He'd bought a plain coat, dumped her old one in a bin beside the railway station, and driven home with her.

She was currently in the spare room, subdued with a strong dose of children's sleeping medicine.

He had no wish to hurt her, after all.

He just wanted her to know her father for what he was; a coward, a liar, and not really her father after all.
