19: Feelings
Her Wolf [Teen Wolf]
". . . So, when are we going to talk about last night?"
"Not yet."
Sky pushes herself further up the climbing wall in their gym class, "You left marks all over my bedroom walls," she points out.
Ariel grunts from where she was climbing next to her, "Sky --"
"I have no idea how I'm going to hide that from my mom."
"Sky."
"And after it was over, you jumped out of my window -- like that was a normal thing to do -- and ignored my calls."
"Sky!" Ariel snaps, before pausing and taking a breath. "I said not yet," she says quietly.
Sky sighs, glancing at her, "Well, it needs to be soon, the scratch marks you left on me says your control isn't great."
"I know," Ariel grits out, adding. "I'm sorry."
Sky waves her off, "Anyway, at least you didn't turn into that weird lizard thing that tried to attack Allison in Isaac's house."
Ariel growls under her breath, leaning over and grabbing Sky by the shirt, pulling her closer while still holding onto the wall with her other hand as she asks, "Are you trying to test my control, Skylar?"
Sky almost loses her footing, but keeps steady as she looks at her girlfriend sheepishly, ". . . No?"
Ariel eyes her for a moment before smirking as an idea comes to mind. She lets go of Sky's shirt and swipes her foot so she loses her balance. Sky yelps as she falls backwards, her harness stopping her fall as she nears the ground.
The sound of the surrounding class laughing makes Sky groan as she lays on the ground, glaring up at Ariel who was sending her a smug look from where she had reached the top of the wall effortlessly.
Coach steps towards her, chuckling, "McCall, I don't know why, but your pain gives me a special kind of joy. Right?" he straightens, clapping. "All right, next two. Stilinski, Erica, let's go. The wall."
Stiles and Erica start climbing as soon as Ariel moves away from the wall, walking to go and stand with their classmates.
Sky gets up and moves towards her, leaning close and whispering, "You can't push me away forever, literally or figuratively."
Ariel ignores her, looking over to where the climbing wall is, "Erica? Dizzy? Is it vertigo?" calls Coach, making them focus on Erica, who looked to be stuck on the wall, unmoving. Sky could hear her heartbeat rising in panic.
"Vertigo's a dysfunction of the vestibular system of the inner ear," corrects Lydia. "She's just freaking out."
"Erica," Coach calls.
"I'm fine," she quietly replies.
Ariel looks to Coach, "Maybe it's not safe. Isn't she epileptic?" she asks.
Coach looks exasperated, "Why doesn't anybody tell me this stuff?" he mutters. "Erica, you're fine. Just kick off from the wall. There's a mat to catch you," Erica slowly moves down, eventually touching the ground. "Come on. See, you're fine. You're on the ground. You're all right. Let's go. Shake it off. You're fine."
Sky scowls furiously when she hears people start laughing at Erica, making her run out of the gym in embarrassment.
"Shut the hell up!" she snaps loudly, making everyone quiet, not wanting to draw her attention to themselves.

"You made everyone listen to you better than any teacher does," comments Ariel as they move to change in the girls locker room.
Sky shrugs, "They just want to keep their limbs in tact," she replies.
Ariel hums, watching her open her locker, "Maybe, or maybe it's something else," she says casually.
Sky looks at her confused, "What are you talking about?"
Ariel blinks, shaking her head, "I don't know."
Sky opens her mouth to speak, but pauses when she looks down and sees her own hands shaking. She frowns but shrugs it off.
Ariel follows her line of sight and frowns too, about to ask what was wrong when she suddenly inhales sharply, hunching over slightly as a horrible feeling washes over her.
Sky's eyes widen when she looks up to see brown eyes flashing purple for a moment before she straightens up.
Ariel moves to the door, running out quickly, "Gym -- Erica!" she blurts out in confused panic.
Sky follows, worried as she's led back to the gym.
They get there in time to see Erica on the climbing wall and Ariel is running towards her, shouting up to her.
Scott appears through the door at the same time as Sky and bolts towards Erica, seeing her about to fall, reaching her just in time to catch her as her seizure starts and she slips off the wall.
He lays her on the floor as Allison comes running up to them, "Put her on her side, put her on her side," she instructs.
Ariel kneels down and helps Scott put Erica into a recovery position as Allison looks between them curiously, "How'd you know?"
Ariel glances at Sky, a look passing between them that no one notices, saying nothing.
"I just felt it," says Scott, looking down at his hands. Sky frowns, looking down at her own that was no longer shaking, understanding dawning on her.
***
Sky sits herself down next to Ariel at lunchtime. She notices the empty seat next to Scott and looks around, spotting Stiles talking to Boyd, presumably trying to get the keys to the ice rink as he works there.
Sky sighs as she looks at Ariel, ignoring Scott's confused glance at their behaviour, "I get you're totally refusing to talk to me about certain things, but will you be my date to the ice rink tonight?" she asks.
Ariel looks down at the table for a moment before her lips lift into a small smile as she peers up at her, "Sure," she mumbles, then pauses, asking. "How are we getting in if it's closed?"
Sky smirks and nods to where Stiles was giving Boyd cash for the keys, "We got the keys, so it's all to ourselves."
Ariel breathes a small laugh as Stiles comes skipping over. He looks between them, "I'll grab Sky then pick you up after work tonight, Scott, then we all meet at the rink, cool?" he checks.
They all nod, but the whole cafeteria turns silent, making them turn their heads towards the door as someone walks through them. A newly styled Erica struts in, looking better with a confidence she never had before.
Erica bends down and takes someone's apple out of their hands, taking a bite out of it, intending to look seductive.
Sky lifts a hand to her face as she cringes, muttering, "Oh, my god, no."
Hands slamming down on the table makes them all flinch as Lydia appears from behind them, "What -- the holy hell -- is that?" she asks, staring at Erica in what could almost be considered as jealousy.
"It's Erica," Scott answers, rushing to his feet as he and Stiles run to follow Erica, who had turned to leave.
Ariel looks over at her girlfriend, laughing in amusement when she sees the uncomfortable and troubled expression on her face, "You look like you just let someone put pineapple on your pizza," she remarks.
Sky scoffs at the idea, "Never."
***
"Catch!"
Ariel whips around, lifting her arms as catches something in her hands just before it hits her in the face. She looks down at the offending object and up to Sky.
"Did you just throw your shoe at me?" she asks incredulously.
Sky shrugs as she takes off her other shoe from her seat in the stands next to the ice rink. The others had already rushed onto the ice but Sky had taken her time, enjoying the sight of her brother flailing around with the grace of a baby giraffe moments after being born.
"Your reflexes are as good as ours now it seems," Sky tells her, ignoring the question.
Ariel rolls her eyes, throwing the shoe to the ground, "You're never going to leave this alone are you?" she mutters in annoyance.
"No."
Ariel scowls in frustration as she rises to her feet, "Well, what do you want me to say, huh, Sky?" she asks.
Sky stands up with a frown, "I want you to let me help you, Ariel!" she snaps.
Sky clears her throat and lowers her voice, "You didn't trust me to know something had happened to you in the first place, and now you won't trust me enough to even talk to me about it after you turned in my room!" she hisses.
Ariel scoffs as she glares at her, "Of course I trust you --" she stops, glancing around them, seeing the others had noticed them quietly arguing and were watching curiously. She grabs Sky's arm and pulls her into a hallway, spinning to face her, eyes flashing as her anger rises.
"You think I wanted this?!" Ariel asks, motioning to herself. "I don't even know what's happening to me! Peter bit me after nearly killing you and my sister and now I have purple eyes, a short temper and weird feelings!" her voice cracks as her emotions rise, clouding her anger as her shoulders sag. "Is that what you wanted to hear?"
Sky waves her arms around, exclaiming, "Yes!" she pauses. "Well, maybe not as hysterically but you could have just told me that," she tells her.
Ariel lets out a shuddering breath, "Oh."
Sky pulls Ariel into a tight hug, "I'm just pissed you tried to go through it alone when I'm here," she mumbles quietly, feeling Ariel squeeze her tighter as she sniffs.
Sky grunts at the pressure, "And you're definitely stronger," she groans out.
Ariel pulls away quickly, "Sorry," she mutters.
Sky rolls her eyes with a smile, moving closer to her again and kissing her forehead, "It's fine," she assures her. "Feel better now?"
Ariel nods, taking a deep breath and Sky steps back, pointing a mock warning finger at her, "From now on, we go through this together, capiche?"
Ariels lips twitch upwards, "Capiche." she repeats.
They move back towards the ice rink hand in hand, ready to join their friends in skating when Sky stops, making Ariel look back at her in confusion.
"Uh--" Sky mumbles, "I forgot. I don't know how to skate."
Ariel chuckles, tugging her along, "C'mon, trouble. I'll show you."
***
Unlike the lost cause that was Scott, it only took ten minutes of going slow before Sky could get the hang of skating, able to watch Ariel go ahead to skate around the rink with Lydia like they were professionals.
Sky looks to her right to see Stiles gaping at Lydia, "You're drooling," she tells him.
Stiles quickly moves to wipe his mouth without thinking before stopping and glaring at her, "Not funny," he grumbles.
When she was done, Ariel skates back to Sky with a smile, "That was fun." she says.
Sky mock sighs, saying, "I was kinda hoping to see Lydia trip over, but nothing."
Ariel moves to smack her arm with a grin, only to stumble into Sky when she feels her eyes burn unexpectedly.
"Lydia," Ariel breathes out.
Sky blinks, helping her keep steady, "What?"
Lydia's scream echoes through the building, making them wince and cover their ears.
Ariel pulls back in alarm, turning and hurriedly skating over to where Stiles was holding Lydia, who was sobbing in the middle of the ice rink.
She immediately kneels down and brings Lydia into a tight hug, trying to calm her down. Scott and Allison rush in from where they had been to the photo booth, watching in worry.
Sky scratches her head in confusion, "What the hell is going on?"Â she mumbles.

"Deaton, my favourite animal saving hero!" calls Sky as she strolls into the Animal Clinic the next day, a nervous Ariel in tow.
Deaton looks up from where he was looking through some paperwork, "Hello, Sky, Ariel," he nods with a smile, "What can I do for you?"
Sky exhales, moving further into the room, checking there was no one else around, "So, we know werewolves are real. . ." she trails off.
Deaton nods, looking at her in curious amusement, "Yes?"
"What about wolves with purple eyes?" Ariel blurts out.
Sky sighs, muttering, "Way to be subtle, Ariel."
Deaton pauses in thought, "Oh," he murmurs after a moment.
Sky frowns, "Is that an 'Oh' goody, or 'Oh' shit?" she wonders.
Deaton shakes his head, looking between them suspiciously, "Why do you ask?" he questions instead.
Sky fidgets, "We may or may not have seen a wolf like that," she tells him.
Deaton sighs, "Well, it is a wolf. But not a normal one -- like an Alpha isn't a regular werewolf. I can't say I've ever encountered one myself, though," he admits.
Ariel watches him curiously, "But what is it?" she asks.
Deaton looks between them as if he was trying to figure something out, answering carefully, "It's known as a Clairvoyant Wolf."
