Part 11

Flower you never saw• male oc x male reader

"You're really leaving me alone?"

His bemused, vivid heavenly deep orbs scoured for an answer in mine.

"For now"

The summer ended and so did our love story.

But everybody knew there would always be next summer waiting for us similarly our love tale was only coming to a pause, I knew soon enough we both will be filling the pages with the happy colours until we both run out of ink.

The sun was dazzling from far away.

The sky wasn't dark like that night, it was blue.

The shade of blue that brings joy, that brings light and freedom.

The cluster of white cotton in the sky shifted from one place to another, it never dwelled set.

The birds were singing a melody only for them to understand and for us to appreciate.

My mother didn't question my sudden desire to flee from the town.

I was leaving this place after some hours.

"Dan, stay alive till then"

I had plans and visions, I knew there was a future waiting for us to behold.

Dan smiled at me and nodded.

"Don't forget about me, city boy" Dan teased me.

"I'm still shocked that they let you meet me"

"Yeah, I told them I would kill myself if they didn't let me meet you for the last time"

He laughed cheerfully, that night was just a week ago and yet here he is, flashing a smile that burns brighter than the sun.

"Dan, how about we plant a flower in the playground?"

"A flower?" he bestowed me a confused look.

"My mom's mother gave this one flower named 'night-blooming cereus' and you know what's cool about it?"

"No?"

"It takes around 5 years to bloom" I cheerily informed him.

"Fi-five years?" he shuttered in utter confusion.

I nodded and without another statement, I rode inside my house to look for the seeds.

My mother was reciting to someone on the telephone when I passed by her.

She glanced at me and hoisted an eyebrow but I just smiled and began searching for it

I eventually found it inside of an ancient container.

I reached outside to greet Dan who was gazing at the sky with his hands in his pocket.

The gust of wind swiftly caressed his gleaming complexion.

His hair danced with the wind as his enchanted eyes scoured for something in the sky.

The joyous expression of his was dwindling into a worried one.

"Dan! Let's go to the playground"

He glanced and smiled at me before fleeing towards the playground.

The seeds had been planted and the sun was setting.

The unbroken sky became orange and the wind ignited to get heavier.

I knew the moment had come, the moment for me to leave.

"Dan"

He looked at me with an impartial expression.

"It's time for me to go"

He nodded and stood up to his feet.

"Have a safe flight" He forced a smile.

"But before leaving I want to tell you something" I leaned up close to him and clenched his hand in mine.

"I want you to know that I am not running away from them, from the danger. I am just going to the city to work and earn money and when I will earn enough for both of us, I will come to get you and we both will go somewhere they can or will never find.

For that to happen, I want you to stay alive, graduate and build your career"

The orange-gold stretched far and vast,

The colour of blaze wrapping the open roof of nature above us.

It felt as if the sky could recite the language of love.

The sun deliberately wandered towards the west, vowing to rise again tomorrow.

"I will"

He smiled uncontrollably.

"Take care of these flowers, make them grow into something eye-catching. When I will come back I want to see the flower blooming and for that, you have to water it every day, you're a dad, Dan"

I laughed as he rolled his eyes.

His gaze met mine and the world ceased spinning for me. Everything came to be a thick layer of mist and the only thing my eyes glared at were his eyes.

Those eyes told me they were terrified to battle alone, they begged me to stay but I knew I couldn't.

It seemed as if I was too lost in my thoughts to notice that I was leaning toward him while my eyes remained fixated on his rosy lips.

Before my lips could coalesce with his, I felt a pair of arms squeezing me.

When I came to my sense, I realized that they were of Dans'.

He was hugging me, it was tighter than that night and I could feel how tensed his body was.

"Y/n, it's late, you'll miss your flight"

He let go of me when we heard my mom's voice.

I glanced at Dan and he smiled and nodded.

The cab in front of my house waited patiently for me to get ready to ride. I unlocked the door and took a seat at the back.

My mother continued talking about something but I could only concentrate on the grim figure that stood few feet away from me.

I saw Dan stepping towards the cab when my mother ended her portion of the conversation.

He stood a foot apart.

'Tell him that you love him'

'It's the right time'

'Come on, you always wanted to tell him'

My heart pleaded with me to divulge, they craved to have it all revealed.

Thoughts were flooding my head but it all came to an end when he spoke

"Do you promise to come back?"

He wasn't looking at me, was he in fact blushing?

"Yeah, I promise to come back and take you away from this vicious world"

"Alright then, I also promise to wait for you no matter how long"

And with that, a new journey of mine unravelled.
