"So what you're trying to tell me, is that you loved me first? And it wasn't me who loved you first? What the hell Jungkook!" Jimin yelled, fisting his hair in frustration.
Jungkook just sat there, resting his head on his hand and watching Jimin have a minor break down. "Baby, calm down. It doesn't matter who loved who first. What matters is that we're both here right now, and we're together." He said calmly, not getting what Jimin was freaking out about.
Jimin turned to look at Jungkook, mouth agape. "It doesn't matter?! Of course it matters, Jungkook! All this time I thought it was only me feeling this way and you're telling me it doesn't matter?!" He incredulously asked, not believing what was coming out of Jungkook's mouth.
"I didn't mea-" Jungkook was about to defend himself when he was interrupted by Jimin, who was still rambling.
"Well, I'm sorry, Jungkook, but not all of us can have feelings for someone and not actually realise it, some people actually know what they're feeling when they're feeling it." He said sarcastically, rolling his eyes and looking away.
Jungkook looked at Jimin, waiting for him to say he was kidding or something, but when he didn't, Jungkook felt his heart skip a beat in a not good way. "What's that supposed to mean? Just because I didn't realise it doesn't mean I didn't feel it! And it's not a competition by the way." Jungkook said, starting to get riled up. "I can't believe we're fighting about this. Seriously, Jimin-ssi." He sighed, massaging his temples.
Just when Jungkook thought Jimin was done, the older let out a "Well, I guess we are!"
Jungkook stood up from his chair. "No, we're not. I'm not doing this." He said, leaving the balcony and going to the front door.
For the third time Jungkook thought Jimin would do something, only for Jimin to do the complete opposite. Jungkook tried to take his time to walk from the balcony to the front door, giving Jimin the chance to go after him or call out to him, but when he couldn't hear Jimin's footsteps, he just wore his shoes and grabbed a coat on the way out, deciding to go for a walk until Jimin snapped out of whatever was happening to him.
And maybe Jungkook was running away from the confrontation, too scared to fight with his boyfriend. It being their first fight as a couple. So as much as Jungkook loved Jimin, he never wanted to fight with him; both of them yelling at each other and saying words they didn't mean just so they could hurt each other. That was the last thing Jungkook wanted, and if right then and there he got labelled as a coward, he didn't care, as long as he didn't fight with his favourite hyung.
Jimin huffed, still standing in the same spot in the balcony. "Run away then." He stubbornly muttered.
When Jungkook came back after two hours, he heard the sound of Jimin's laugher coming from the living room.
Trying to act cool, he walked right by the living room on his way to the kitchen, seeing Jimin and Hoseok from his peripheral vision, and Jimin turning to look at him only to look away again, a frown setting on his face.
Jungkook just sighed, going to rummage the fridge for something to eat.
With his head still in the fridge, Jungkook huffed.
I'm not that hungry anyway.
He slammed the fridge close after grabbing a bottle of water, making a show of slowly walking to his room while drinking from the bottle, still ignoring Jimin.
When he reached their room, he took his clothes off and went to take a shower, the scowl on his face not disappearing. "Wanna be stubborn, Jimin-ssi? Alright. I'll show you stubborn." He muttered to himself.
Hoseok silently observed the two, noting how Jungkook passed by them twice now without giving Jimin the slightest bit of attention, not missing the way Jimin looked at Jungkook with a scowl on his face.
"Did something happen with you two?" He couldn't help but ask.
Jimin huffed loudly. "Nothing happened." He said, crossing his arms defensively.
"Clearly." Hoseok replied. "Jimin just tell me what happened." He sighed.
Jimin thought about what to say for a minute. "It's silly now that I think about it." He sighed, covering his face with his hands and groaning.
"If it's silly, why are you both like that then?" Hoseok pointed out, giving Jimin a look to say he wasn't buying it.
"Alright I'll tell you." Jimin shushed Hoseok, signaling for him to wait so that he could explain. "We were both talking and we found out that Jungkook actually loved me before I started loving him." He admitted. The words he said tasting weird on his tongue.
Hoseok's jaw dropped.
"I know right!" Jimin exclaimed, happy someone was as shocked as him. "I mean, I technically was the one who fell in love first, at least I knew what I was feeling back then, so it means it was me right? Cause it won't count unless he-"
"I can't believe that's what you two are fighting about." Hoseok interrupted in disbelief. "Jimin are you serious?!" Hoseok whisper shouted.
Jimin's eyes widened. "Well, we- I- uhh." He scratched his forehead. "Actually it was just me." He quietly said, closing his eyes. He had a feeling he was about to get scolded.
Hoseok frowned, not getting what Jimin meant. "Just you what?"
"It was just me yelling at him. He wasn't even bothered about who loved who first." Jimin said, fiddling with the strings sticking out of the couch cushions. "But he should've! I mean, how can he not care about who loved the other first?!" He whispered shouted, getting angry all over again.
"Why would it matter Jimin?" Hoseok calmly asked, disappointed in his dongsaeng.
Jimin looked up. "Huh?"
Hoseok sighed for the hundredth time. "Let's say you were the one to love Jungkook first. How would that change anything now? What would you benefit from that?" The older asked, waiting for Jimin to answer questions he knew he couldn't.
Jimin looked down again, not saying anything.
"Jiminie, don't let your pride get in the way of yours and Jungkook's relationship. It's not healthy." Hoseok adviced, patting Jimin on the shoulder. "Now if you don't wanna sleep alone tonight, I suggest you go and make up with him."
After Jimin's talk with Hoseok, the mochi thought about how to approach his boyfriend, too scared now to do it after he ignored him when he came back. He wished he had stopped him from leaving in the first place.
Just as Jimin was walking into his room, Jungkook walked out of the bathroom, clearly after he took a shower.
The younger almost hesitated, his steps were about to falter when he saw Jimin walk into the room, but decided to carry on with his stubbornness and walk out of the room altogether, not knowing he left Jimin standing there, staring after him.
Jungkook went to Taehyung's room. "Wanna play overwatch?"
Jungkook spent all of the afternoon with Taehyung playing video games, and distracting himself from his troubles with his boyfriend.
When it was getting close to dinner time Taehyung finally said what was on his mind. "Where's your boyfriend, Kookie?"
Jungkook coughed. "I don't know." He said, focussing on winning the race.
Taehyung paused the game. "What do you mean you don't know? What kind of boyfriend doesn't know where his boyfriend is?" He asked, turning to give Jungkook an accusing look.
Jungkook let out a tired sigh. "We fought, okay? Now can you press play?" He said, wanting to keep distracting himself.
"No. Tell me what happened." Taehyung pressed, not taking no for an answer.
"Go ask him yourself. Isn't he your best friend?" He sassed, rolling his eyes after.
"Hey now! That doesn't mean you and I can't be best friends too, or that you can't vent to me. I won't tell him anything you say, if that's what you're worried about." Taehyung informed trying to reassure the younger.
Jungkook just looked at Taehyung for five seconds not saying anything. "Okay." He sighed, pushing his hair back in frustration. "It turns out it was me who fell in love first, not Jimin hyung." He told, groaning after. "This is so silly to say out loud. I can't believe Jimin hyung fought with me because of it!" He said, putting the controller on the table in front of them and rubbing his face.
"What?!" Taehyung yelled.
"What?" Jungkook asked, scared of Taehyung.
"All this time and Jimin wasn't the one to love you first?" Taehyung said, frowning in confusion.
"Not you too, please. Why would it matter who loved who first?! It's not like it's a race!" Jungkook said, his frustration getting the best of him.
"Well, it's not a race, but think about it from Jimin's perspective. Imagine you have loved someone for more than five years, thinking that; that someone doesn't feel the same way, so you suffer in silence for years, trying to hide your feelings, and it turns out that; that someone loved you too all this time, and not only that but they loved you first too? Wow. Can't imagine what's going on in Jimin's head right now. Do you have any idea what he had went through because of his 'unrequited love' for you?" Taehyung explained, not even looking at Jungkook but staring far ahead, deep in thought.
Jungkook sighed. "I get that, Tae hyung. But my feelings were true. What I was feeling was true. Even if I didn't realise it then, but Jimin hyung doesn't think so." He said, curling up on his chair and pulling his legs to his chest. "I don't really care who loved who first, hyung. The only thing I care about is Jimin hyung, and what he's feeling for me right now. Not five years ago."
"But you can't just dismiss what Jimin went through in those five years." Taehyung pointed out.
"I'm not. I'm not really. Those five years make up our love story you know? But that small detail doesn't. I can act like Jimin hyung was the one to fall in love first, like we didn't have that conversation this morning. I can do that if that's what is gonna make Jimin hyung happy, but it won't, and he's being stubborn about it. He thinks just because I didn't realise it then I didn't feel it but I did, hyung. I loved Jimin hyung so much I didn't know how to act around him. I was more shy around him too. If I was joking around with you or any of our hyungs it was just that; us fooling around, but with Jimin hyung it wasn't. He made me so nervous back then, and still does." Jungkook explained, trying to put his feelings into words as much as he could.
"Jungkook, look. I think you should have that conversation with Jimin. Not me, and it shouldn't even be something for you two to fight about." Taehyung said, patting Jungkook's head.
"But I didn't even fight about it. It was Jimin hyung who did." Jungkook corrected.
"Well, you can't go along with Jimin's stubbornness. It can't be both of you at the same time. That's gonna ruin your relationship." He said.
Dinner was .. awkward to say the least. Jimin and Jungkook didn't sit beside each other, or Jimin on Jungkook's lap like they were used to. Instead when Jungkook walked into the kitchen to sit down he sat on the farthest seat from Jimin.
Jimin couldn't deny, it hurt him when Jungkook did that, specially when Jimin was the cause of it. He wanted to hit himself right there, but decided to save that for later; when he was alone.
Jin, Namjoon, and Yoongi raised their eyebrows at the couple's behaviour. Hoseok and Taehyung just sighed.
Dinner went on just like that, once in a while Jimin or Jungkook would steal glances without the other noticing, but the members did.
When it was over, or when Jungkook finished eating he left the kitchen quickly, not waiting for another second. It was obvious to everyone. Jungkook was angry.
He thought Jimin would try to talk to him by now, only for him to wait for something that just wouldn't happen. He didn't do or say anything wrong for Jimin to treat him like that, or to not treat him at all in the first place.
Jimin didn't know what to do. It was a new territory for him. First relationship, first boyfriend, first couple fight. He didn't know how to act now. When he fought with any of the members or even Jungkook over silly things, they usually talked after that like nothing had happened. One of them would try to joke around with the other until they weren't mad anymore. What was different this time around, was the fact that they were in a relationship, and a relationship required communication, they can't just sweep their emotions under the rug and pretend nothing had happened. Jimin knew they needed to talk it out. He only didn't know how.
That night, Jimin went to sleep alone. At first he waited for Jungkook to walk into the room and cuddle with him until they fell asleep, and talk things out in the morning, but Jungkook didn't come.
Jimin sighed and turned to turn the lights off, leaving his night light on because Jungkook wasn't there to protect him.
It took him more than an hour to find a good sleeping position, the pillow felt too fluffy under his head, too used to sleeping on Jungkook's hard chest; falling asleep the second his head hit his human pillow, Jungkook's warmth surrounding him. Only now he had to sleep on an actual pillow with an extra blanket there to keep him warm.
Jungkook laid in his cold bed, without a small mochi there to warm it up. He went to bed shirtless like he did every night, only to put on a sweatshirt again when it got too cold without the weight of Jimin sleeping on top of him.
He let out a sigh. It felt weird to sleep in his room again. His room only reminding him of the fact that he had a fight with Jimin, and the times he had to sleep alone in this room because he was angry with Jimin. That room wasn't a place of comfort for him anymore, but just a reminder of not having his boyfriend beside him.
It took a while for Jungkook to fall asleep, but he eventually did, waking up from the sound of his alarm blaring at eight in the morning reminding him that it was his and Jimin's turn to make breakfast.
He turned his alarm off, and went to brush his teeth and wash his face in his own bathroom.
When he was done, he realised that he had to wake Jimin up, because both of them depended on Jungkook's phone alarm, so that meant that Jimin was still asleep in his room.
Jungkook hesitated, not sure if he should wake the older up or not. He decided to go to his room, maybe he already woke up.
The sight Jungkook was greeted with broke his heart a little. Jimin was curled up in bed, still sleeping; with two blankets on top of him and the night light on. "Oh baby." He whispered, going over to Jimin's side, watching him for a while. Jungkook instinctively leaned down, kissing Jimin's forehead. He decided to let him sleep more, and make breakfast on his own.
He went to the kitchen, and started making the pancake batter. When he was just done making it, he heard running footsteps to the kitchen.
Jimin had woken up suddenly. The anxious feeling of having slept for too long waking him up. He frowned, a little confused on why he would feel that way when anyone can simply wake him up for breakfast.
Breakfast!
Jimin quickly sat up, pushing the blankets off of him and looking for his phone to look at the time. When he found it was only eight twenty he calmed down slightly, deciding to brush his teeth and then go wake Jungkook up.
He walked to the bathroom, standing in front of the mirror for five seconds too long, feeling like something was out of place, or that something was missing, only to realise he was too used to Jungkook handing him his toothbrush, and he was standing there; waiting for it to magically appear in his hand.
Jimin shook his head, and reached for his toothbrush, and started with his morning routine. When he was done he went to Jungkook's room, figuring the younger had slept there, because he didn't come to their room at night.
When Jimin found it empty already, he got angry.
Jimin ran to the kitchen, his assumptions being correct. "Why didn't you wake me up?!" Jimin said, standing there with his hands on his hips, his adorable sleepy face set in a frown.
Jungkook froze with the pan in his hand, about to put it on the stove. "I- you looked comfortable. I felt guilty waking you up." He half admitted, not wanting to flat out say that he was too scared to talk to him.
Jimin sighed. He didn't want to fight with Jungkook again, so he took a deep breath to calm himself down. "It's our duty; both of us. You shouldn't do it alone. We should make breakfast together." Jimin said, stressing on the plural pronouns.
Jungkook put the pan on the stove, turning to Jimin. "Sorry it won't happen again." He said, trying not to start a new fight. He sighed, turning to the stove again. "I'm making pancakes. You can make eggs and bacon if you want." He informed, trying to stay professional, at least until they were done with making breakfast.
"Jungkook." Jimin called tiredly.
Jungkook stopped what he was doing, still with his back to Jimin. "Yeah?"
"Are you still upset with me?" Jimin asked in a pout. He wanted his boyfriend back. He wanted his cuddles and kisses, and the way he would flirt with him at every chance he got.
Jungkook turned around at Jimin's tone, to find him pouting with his arms behind his back. "Baby, come here." He whispered, wrapping his arms around Jimin's waist and pulling him close.
Jungkook hugged Jimin tightly, slightly holding him up. He buried his head in Jimin's shoulder, and nuzzled into his neck, inhaling his scent.
"I missed you." They said at the same time.
They both laughed, slightly pulling back from the hug. Jimin held Jungkook's face with both his hands. "I'm sorry, Kookie. I overreacted. I didn't mean what I said about you not realising your feelings. I'm really sorry, I was being a bitch." Jimin apologised, looking into Jungkook's eyes sincerely.
"No. No, you're not. Don't call yourself that. I understand now, baby. You don't have to apologise. I'm sorry I made you feel like that. I just didn't understand where you were coming from, but I do now." Jungkook said, pulling Jimin even closer to him and brushing his nose against Jimin's.
Jimin closed his eyes, enjoying the feeling of Jungkook's arms around him again. "The bed was cold without you." He admitted in a whisper.
Jungkook sighed. "Same here. I slept in a sweatshirt." He too admitted, leaning down to grab Jimin's thighs to wrap Jimin's legs around his waist.
Jimin pulled his face away slightly. "Really?!" He exclaimed.
"Yeah, baby. You weren't there to warm me up. It was too cold." Jungkook explained, pinching Jimin's bum.
Jimin squealed. "Hey!" He scolded, hiting Jungkook on the shoulder lightly, laughing after.
"Don't blame me. I miss it." Jungkook flirted, making Jimin blush.
"Yah!" He hit his shoulder again. "Don't say things like that in the morning!" He yelled.
"Should I say it at night then? What do you say?" Jungkook suggested in a deep voice, raising one eyebrow.
Jimin shivered. "Jungkook, shut up." He whined, covering his face in embarrassment.
The younger walked to the kitchen table, sitting Jimin down on top of it and standing between his legs. "Hey." He said gently, removing Jimin's hands from his face.
Jimin looked up at Jungkook with a questioning look.
"We need to establish a few rules." Jungkook stated, holding Jimin's hands and giving them a gentle squeeze.
Jimin just waited for Jungkook to elaborate, still looking up at him.
"First, no stubbornness when we fight, and if one of us is being stubborn, the other can't be stubborn too. I'm guilty of doing this I know, but I won't do it again I promise. It got us no where." He said, letting go of one of Jimin's hands to hold up one finger. "Second, when we fight, don't call me Jungkook. It makes me sad when you do that. It's Jungkookie for you, or Kookie, or honey, or baby, or whatever you want but not Jungkook, please. And I won't call you Jimin hyung, okay?" He explained holding up two fingers.
"I can call you baby!" Jimin said in excitement.
Jungkook frowned, still holding two fingers up. "No. You're the baby here. That was just an example." He denied with a frown.
Jimin pouted. "But I used to call you baby when we were young." He protested.
"I used to be a baby then. I'm not one anymore." He insisted, giving Jimin a stern look.
The older's pout didn't disappear.
Jungkook sighed in defeat. "Okay, but only when I'm sick." He compromised, earning an eye cresent smile that had him leaning down to pick Jimin's lips, making the shorter blush. "Third, when we fight, if we fight, we sleep together. Nothing changing there. Even if we can't look at each other, we have to sleep together. That is if we don't make up before we go to bed. I'd prefer the latter." He said, holding up three fingers.
Jimin nodded, grabbing Jungkook's sweatshirt to pull him close. "Fine by me." He sighed, wrapping his arms around Jungkook's waist and resting his head on Jungkook's stomach. "I never wanna fight with you again." He mumbled.
Jungkook hugged Jimin back, playing with his hair. "Baby it's bound to happen, we have the rest of our lives ahead of us. One fight or two won't kill us. It's natural in long term relationships." He reasoned. "Like Namjoon hyung said, it's not all rainbows and sunshine." He sighed, rubbing Jimin's back comfortingly.
Jimin smiled. Happy that Jungkook considered their relationship one that would last for that many years. "I really love you." He pouted up at Jungkook.
Jungkook smiled, holding the side of Jimin's face. "I love you more baby." He leaned down to kiss his boyfriend, still missing him. Their fight didn't even last for twenty four hours but it was enough for him to miss the way he fit perfectly with Jimin. Every body part of theirs resembling a puzzle piece that mirrored the other's.
They slowly pulled away, Jimin doing his job of killing the mood. "Breakfast." He stated, trying to shrug off the butterflies that were going crazy in his stomach.
Jungkook blinked a few times. "Y-Yeah. Right." He pulled away fully from Jimin, helping him get off the table. "I'll j-just make the pancakes." He said going over to the stove.
Jimin smiled shyly, opening the fridge to take out the ingredients he needs.
Jin walked into the kitchen, thinking that breakfast was done already. When he found that the couple still weren't done, he smiled knowingly. "Boys. I can take over making breakfast for today if you want." He suggested.
Jimin and Jungkook turned to Jin quickly. "Yes, please!" They both said, making Jin laugh.
"Just go." Jin said, waving them off.
Jungkook took Jimin's hand and ran out of the kitchen to their room, yelling out a "Thanks, Jin hyung!" and pulling a giggling Jimin with him.
When Jin was done with breakfast, and everyone but the couple were already sitting at the kitchen table, Yoongi asked Jin. "Where's Jungkook and Jimin? They're not eating breakfast?"
"No. I don't think they are."
