Jimin's POV

Friday

The sun was barely over the horizon, but I had been up long before it broke over the land. I sat up in bed, my skin frozen by the cold air, but I was stuck in place staring at nothing in particular outside. I slowly looked over my shoulder at Jungkook who slept peacefully behind me, his hair fanned over the pillow and chest rising slowly. I turned my head and looked back out the window, staring at the soft glow of the sun not even visible yet. Carefully, I got out of bed and padded over to my bathroom.

I walked inside and closed the door, fumbling on the wall for the switch until my fingers flipped it up. The light flicked on and revealed someone who I didn't even recognize anymore - god do I look awful. A small scar rested on the top of my forehead from running into a tree, a cloth patch covered the shrinking hole of where a bullet had entered my skin, and a dark red, swollen bite rested on my left shoulder.

I whimpered and slowly fell to the floor, holding myself in my arms. Too much, too much. I sobbed quietly- terribly- and looked back up at the mirror that was a few feet above me. I didn't want to look again.

Leave. You can't do this.

My mind repeated the words over and over until I stood and walked to my closet, pulling on some warm clothes as I knew I'd be in for a walk. I looked back at Jungkook, staring at him once more.

Before I left for good, I quickly walked over and kissed the top of his forehead, holding it there for longer than I intended to.

"I'll always love you," I whispered softly.

Backing away from the bed, I padded downstairs with tears and rummaged through some drawers in the kitchen, pulling out a pen and a pad of paper. I stood there for a while, staring at it as my tears dropped and spread across the paper, blurring the inked lines.

~

My beloved Jungkook,

I love you so so much. But I have to go. I have had nothing but the pain that comes our way from pursuing this life with you. I love you, but don't follow me.

Sincerely, your Jimin.

~

I sniffed and slowly backed away from the paper, dropping the pen on the table with a soft clatter. I took one last look around the house, admiring its memories here and there, then stepped outside into the cold air. Shivering, I pulled my coat closer to myself and began my walk down the gravel path.

"Luna?" Yoongi asked, walking in the direction of our house as I hurried down the path away from it.

"I'm sorry, I'm no longer your Luna," I whispered and quickly walked past him, leaving him standing confused in the middle of the road.

Jungkook's POV

I woke to the sun streaming in through the window and the feeling of someone staring at me.

Groggily, I opened my eyes and reached out to feel for Jimin only to feel nothing and see Yoongi standing next to me, his face somber.

"What's wrong?" I asked, sitting up and looking around for Jimin. Yoongi threw a piece of paper at me and watched as I unfolded it.

"Read it," Yoongi said stiffly.

"My beloved Jungkook," I stopped, realizing this was Jimin's handwriting, "I love you. I love you so much. But I have to go. I have had nothing but pain come my way from pursuing this life with you. I love you, but don't follow me. Sincerely, your Jimin." I slowly lowered the paper, my heart constricting at the words. I looked next to me and noticed the indent on his pillow of where he had been laying was still there.

"He's gone," Yoongi told me, "We've already checked everywhere. I saw him earlier this morning walking down the gravel path crying. I called for him but he just said, 'I'm no longer your Luna,' then left. I watched him run but I didn't know what to do, so I just came here and gave orders when I saw the note."

I quickly stood from my bed and walked to my closet, tugging on sweatpants.

"Where are you going?" Yoongi asked.

"To go get him," I growled angrily.

Yoongi reached out and grabbed my arm. "He doesn't want to be found, Jungkook."

I shook my head and pulled my arm away. "I know Jimin. He's in shock and confused. I'm calling off the ceremony. He's coming back but we're performing it privately." I commanded as I hurried down the stairs. Yoongi nodded and let me leave. I stumbled out of the house staring down the gravel path.

His scent was faint but able to track. I took off my sweatpants and shifted into my wolf, grabbing my clothes in my mouth, hurriedly rushing into the forest to follow his scent. Slow, Jimin's scent grew closer and closer until I could see him walking aimlessly through the forest, obviously lost.

I shifted back and pulled on the clothes, following behind him quietly.

Leaning against a tree, I watched with stern eyes as the sound of his crying filled my ears. He seemed to sense my eyes on him as he turned around and jumped, placing a hand over his heart and stared at me. I stared back at him with stern eyes.

"I said don't follow me." He whispered as he quickly wiped his face. I pushed away from the tree I was leaning on and walked over to him, pulling him into my chest and wrapping my arms around him.

He whined in protest in my chest, but stayed put, hesitantly wrapping his arms around me.

"No ceremony. No one in the house. All private for as long as you want. Just us. You'll never leave my sight ever again. Wherever I go, you go and wherever you go, I go. Don't leave." I begged, trying to mediate with him.

Jimin sniffled and pulled away, looking up at me slowly through wet eyelashes, red nose, and puffy cheeks.

"I don't know, Jungkook..." He whispered, shaking his head. I reached out and cupped his face in my hands, making him look at me as my thumbs wiped away a few tears that fell down his cheeks.

"I love you. All I want is to make you happy and keep you safe. Please stay. Be with me, forever." I tried to convince him, looking at him with sincerity.

Jimin closed his eyes and let out a shaky breath. Staying silent for a few seconds that seemed like an eternity.

"Okay." He whispered.

I smiled and pulled him against me once more. "You're never leaving my sight ever again. I'll protect you forever. I promise." I vowed to him, squeezing him a little tighter. I quickly picked him up, making him squeal as I carried him bridal style back through the woods.

I looked down at him and let out a sigh. "The next three days, just us. Complete privacy, just us."

He nodded and leaned his head against my chest.

I walked back down the gravel path as he closed his eyes and let me carry him. "This reminds me of the night we first met." He said softly as his hand reached out and rested against my warm chest. It was so cold.

"How so?" I asked.

He chuckled lightly, "You tracking me through the woods, carrying me in your arms..." Jimin trailed off.

"Your scent was unlike anything I had ever experienced," I told him.

Jimin laughed and opened his eyes, looking up at me. "What do I smell like?" He asked as he bit his lip.

I sighed and tilted my head. "Vanilla, lavender, and rain. All of my favorite smells." I told him, thinking about it and even taking a secretive deep smell of him. He blushed, making me smile.

We walked back up the gravel path, some people staring at us as I carried him towards our house. I just gave a tight smile to everyone as they stared.

I walked a little faster, avoiding questions and eyes, and eventually walked into the home he had been staying in. Carefully, I set him down once I pushed inside and walked around, shutting all of the blinds so that no one could see in.

He looked around, inspecting the closed blinds as he wiped his dried-tear-stained face once more. "Better." He whispered and looked at me, giving a small nod of approval.

I smiled and walked over to him, picking him up and carrying him upstairs. Jimin wrapped his legs around my torso and his hands around my neck, smiling softly at me.

"I'm sorry that I have these little... fits. I'm just tired and sore and stressed." He sighed, resting his head against my neck and shoulder.

"I love you," I told him, making him blush.

He ran his fingers through the back of my hair. "Can we take a shower? I'm cold." He asked as we walked into the room.

"Of course," I said, setting him down as I walked over to the bathroom and started the hot water, turning to look at him. Suddenly, he pushed me in with a laugh as the water ran over my sweatpants, making the fabric stick to my legs.

"Oh no, you didn't." With wide eyes, I stared at the pants, then looked up at him with squinted eyes. I laughed menacingly, reaching out and pulling him in, clothes and all.

"Jungkook!" He shrieked. I laughed and pulled him against me, loving the feeling of his body against mine once more.
