Chapter 19

The Fae's Chance

Thomas Pov ♤

I really wanted to be mad at Axel for feeding me without my consent, but the pancakes just tasted so damn good.  I couldn’t help the moan that came out of my mouth when I tasted the pancakes. They were too perfect to waste.

"Are you as excited for our date tonight as you are for my pancakes?"  Axel asked me.

The idiot had the nerve to sit criss cross applesauce on my bed.  He was looking at me expectantly, like he actually thought I would say 'yes'.

"No."  I looked away from him and dodged one of his attempts to feed me.

He deflated for the tiniest of seconds before he asked "For our date I was thinking we could either do couple pottery classes, or cooking lessons.  Which do you want?"

He's going to be taking me out of the house!  I haven't been out of the house in like a month!  If we are doing lessons that means I'll be talking to humans.  Yes!

My excitement must have shown on my face since Axel was smiling again.  It was weird seeing him like this. At school I knew him as the dude who didn't talk to people that weren't his friends.  Now, he's the most cheerful person I have ever met.

"Are you going to answer or not?"

"P-p-pottery."  If I said cooking we could do that here, and I really wanted to leave this house.

"Then it's settled."  He handed me the fork and hopped gracefully off the bed without unfolding his legs.  "I'll go set it up."

Shaking my head as he left the room, I went back to eating the pancakes I was given.  He really was something.

Be ready by three.

Love Axel ♡

The little note was a bit wrinkled but that gave it character.  His hand writing was sloppy but somehow that made it even cuter.  His heart kinda looks like pointy circle, but it's trying its best.

I looked over at my clock to see how much time I had.  The big blue numbers showed 2:45.

That did the trick.

I was out of my bed in record timing.  Racing to my closet I looked for something that I could wear.  What the fuck did I have that was dirty enough for pottery and classy enough for a date?

I ripped everything I had out of my drawers, and off the hangers.  Jeans? No. Leggings? Double no, those hurt. Shorts? Don't look nice enough.  Don't even get me started on my shirts. They all belong to either Mike or Axel. They're fucking huge one me.

Deciding that I wasn't going to be ready in time if I went on like this, I ran to the bathroom to do something about my hair.  It was a mess, but what can I expect when I spend all day in bed?

I styled it and did all my basic hygiene needs.  If you just look at my face I look good, if you look down I'm in rubber ducky boxers and a shirt that goes down to my knees.  The shirt was black with Kenny from southpark staring into the distance.

I wonder if Axel will be pissed if I go in these?

Looking back at the clock it said 2:57.  That sent me into overdrive as I grabbed the first pair of pants I saw, ripped skinny jeans and a plain white shirt.  I ripped Kenny off and put on the shirt, nearly getting it stuck over my head. Then I went to put on the jeans which had ne hopping all over the place.  It wasn't until I had fallen on the floor that I was able to get the jeans on.

It was exactly 3 when I heard a knock on my door.  I was struggling to put on my shoes so I chucked one at my door.  They are simple black tennis shoes with white laces.

"I'm coming.  Just give me a m-minute!"  I yelled panicking because I couldn't get the one I threw on.

I opened the slightly heavy door.  My date, it kills me to say that word, was staring at me in awe.  It was like I was his island to his ship wrecked self. He was just floating around hoping to see something that would keep him from drowning.

He was dressed in dark Levi jeans, with red and black sneakers.  His shirt was a black t-shirt that he probably found in Walmart. It made me question my choice of clothing, should I have worn white to do pottery?

Screw it, I'm doing it anyway.

"You look… hot."  Axel visibly cringed when he said the last word.

"How s-s-superficial of you."  I teased him.

"If it's true, then it has to be said."  He answered with a cocky smile. His shoulders relaxed and he started leading me through the twisting hallways for our date.

"That's one way to ruin a s-surprise party." I walked ahead of him to prove my superiorness.

We got to the front door which had been locked since I came here.  It had evil aura, that shows through it's white paint. Axel opened it for me, and outside the door awaited a pitch black Lincoln to take us wherever we wanted to go.

Axel went to the drivers side, while I sat in the passengers.  When the door was shut Axel locked it and gave me a knowing look.

"I have one rule for this date.  I want you to agree to it before we leave."

I nodded my head looking him in his dark mocha colored eyes.  They truly were beautiful.

"Don't say and or do anything that will give away what I am, or how I know you.  It won't matter if your human they will kill you for being my mate. Do you understand?"  He gave me a stern look. I know if I disobey him I will be looking at another punishment like last time, or worse.

"Yes."  That was all he needed to drive off.  The smile was right back on his face were it belonged.

We were given our instructions with how to work the tools and how to shape the clay.  It was a thirty minute demonstration, but now they let us loose. Working in pairs we got to make whatever we wanted, and the professionals were strolling around incase we need help.

The room we were in was very bright.  It had big windows on nearly every side.  The room looked like it had once been a bright peach color, but since the pottery classes started a thin layer of clay settled over almost everything.  The spinners were set in pairs throughout the room, a total of 12, and stools next to each of them.

Axel and I are facing each other with our clay hunks set out on the spinner thing.  I decided that I was going to make a flower pot, hopefully, so I could have a hobby for when we move.

Neither of us talked until our clay made it to the kinda something stage.  It's not like we didn't want to talk, we were just too into our project at the moment to even attempt to talk.

"What are you m-making?" I asked Axel.

"A coffee cup" he muttered.  I looked over at his and almost wished I didn't.  It was a wobbly brown lump with a skinny hole in the middle.  It was like a really tall thick donut.

"It looks… d-d-decent?"

"Hardy har har.  What are you making?"  He asked like he didn't already know.

Mine looked like a tall vase that didn't have the neck.  It was smooth, and thick. I was almost done.

"A pot"  I told him.  Then I added "If you need h-help, tell me I'm almost d-done."

He looked to be considering it.  "If you can fix this, then I'm all ears."

I smiled.  It can't be too hard to fix his cup.  It sounds easy enough, as long as he didn't run it too thin.  I told him so too.

I finished my vase and went over to what Axel was doing.  It was kinda hard to find the right angle to fix his mess.  I ended up big spooning the guy who like twice my size. Grabbing his dark hands in mine I attempted to smooth out his cup.

He was warm.  It was like hugging a rock that sat in the sun too long.  He stretched his neck back and kissed me on the cheek.

"Uhhh, it's f-fixed."  I told him so I could stop hugging him.

"Thank you."

We put on the handle, and gave it to one of the people.  They said they'd call after the pots were baked in the oven.

When we got back to the car I whispered "This was fun."

He didn't respond, but he smiled.  That was wnough for me.
