Chapter 22

Eternal Academy Book 3

CATALINA

Unsurprisingly, Kol didn’t take me to my other mates. Instead, he took me straight home and right to bed, showing me just how much he missed me. Mateo had let me know they were on their way by car—the normal way of traveling.

“What about the god I felt? Did you see one?” I asked, tracing patterns along his bare chest. This was bliss. Being in that prison was hell, even if it was for less than two days.

He sighed, pinching my arm before soothing the hurt. “We only saw guards. So, unless one of them was disguised as a guard then…”

“They could’ve been.”

“Then they’re dead. There weren’t many of them left when I came to find you.”

I lightly punched his chest. “And what did I tell you about leaving my other mates?”

He laughed. “I don’t recall? It’s not my fault they can’t keep up.”

“That god is most likely still there, and you left them defenseless.” I frowned. “Well, not completely defenseless; Lucy has his powers.”

Kol burst into laughter at my words. “Did you just call him Lucy? You know the dragon has his powers back as well.”

“It’s not like he can shift in the middle of the prison.” Talking about my other mates made me miss them. I wished they were here already so we could all pile up in bed together. But I knew Luce would be against that idea.

The door to the room opened with a bang, a fuming Lucien standing there. His eyes narrowed on Kol and me.

“Demon.” His lips lifted in a sneer. Mateo and Nick crowded behind him, trying to get a look inside.

Kol sighed next to me. “I’ll be back later, kitten.” My body hit the bed as he disappeared, his body no longer there to hold me up.

“You better run, coward!” Lucien yelled out into the empty air. The sound of Kol’s teasing laughter filled our heads.

“Don’t let him rile you up,” I told him, patting the spot next to me. He let out a grunt but made his way to the bed. Slipping under the covers, he grabbed hold of me, pulling me into his side. His body seemed to relax the longer he held on to me.

“I was worried about you, pup.”

I rolled my eyes at the nickname. I was stronger than him, yet he still called me pup. He flicked my forehead when he caught me, and I smiled innocently at him.

“We all were.” Nick sat at the end of the bed, giving me bedroom eyes. The look had my toes curling.

Mateo grabbed my hand, sitting on my other side. He didn’t have to say anything for me to know how he felt. He was pretty much an open book with me, same as Lucien. They were my first mates after all.

I curled my fingers around his, looking them each in the eyes. “I love you guys.” My chest filled with so much love for them. They’d been with me from the moment I stepped foot into that school, and my life changed forever.

We all piled in bed together, laughing and joking about things in the past.

“I wonder how Abigail and the pack are doing?” I thought out loud. She and the twins were some of my only friends outside of my mates. Wow, I couldn’t believe my mates made up eighty percent of the people I knew.

“They check in from time to time, keeping me updated.” I blinked at him in confusion.

“Did you forget I’m their pack leader? You’re not the only one in my head.” He smirked.

I smacked his chest. “I better be the only female in your head,” I said jokingly.

“I agree with that.” Kol appeared at the end of the bed. He climbed over Nick, who was lying across the bottom, kneeing him in the stomach before flopping down on top of me.

“I love you, kitten.”

“Then let her breathe.” Lucien tugged on his ear so hard his head jerked to the side. I snickered at the look Kol gave him.

Burying his face in my neck, he mumbled something.

“What?”

“I think you can afford to lose one mate,” he whispered loud enough that Lucien could hear the threat for what it was.

I shifted so I was more comfortable, and that’s when the guys noticed my lack of clothing. Mateo coughed, his cheeks reddening.

“Have you been naked this whole time?”

Kol sighed. “How many times have you had sex with her, dragon? Why do you still blush like a virgin—ouch!”

I kneed him in the stomach. Kol glared at me. Then he was under the covers before I could blink. I squeaked in surprise when he grabbed my most sensitive area.

Lucien shifted closer, inhaling deeply. He reminded me of when he had his lycan. My lycan whined at the thought, pulling him closer. I could tell he was lost without his lycan. He wouldn’t show it to the others, and maybe that was what was holding him back from getting it back.

I lost my train of thought the moment Kol slipped a finger in me. Immediately, my hips lifted from the bed, begging for more.

“Kitten is being greedy today,” he teased. He added another finger, shifting his weight so I could feel how excited this was making him.

A warm hand cupped my breast. The heat radiating from it told me the hand belonged to Mateo. Of all my mates, his temperature ran the hottest at all times. But not as hot as Luce.

Lucien captured my mouth the same moment Mateo pinched my nipple. I moaned into his mouth, losing all sense of myself at their touch.

They each set their own pace. Kol thrust his fingers in and out of me quickly. Mateo took his time, like he was exploring my body for the first time. Lucien’s kiss was full of passion and want.

I felt my orgasm building, the three of them working in tandem to bring me to my breaking point. I gripped Lucien’s hair, deepening our kiss.

A door slamming had me jerking back in surprise.

“Doesn’t anyone know how to open a door normally around here?” I shouted, making eye contact with the newcomer. Lucifer eyed the three of us, a flash of rage flickering in his eyes before it was gone. What was that?

“Get some clothes on and come downstairs,” he demanded. Kol scoffed, removing his fingers slowly, one at a time.

“Now!” he snapped.

Mateo was the first to depart from the bed, followed by Kol. “What a fucking killjoy,” he muttered.

Lucien didn’t move, watching the other two quietly leave the room.

“Is everything okay?” I asked after a minute of silence. He still didn’t say anything, choosing to stare at the bed comforter.

“Lucien?”

He pinched the bridge of his nose, letting out a sigh. “Without my lycan, and when you’re not around, I don’t feel complete.”

I grabbed his hand, holding it in mine.

“We’ll get your lycan back, don’t worry.”

He shook his head. “I know that, but I feel like I’m losing myself.” His eyes connected with mine, and I startled at the unshed tears there.

“I feel like I’m losing my soul, Catalina.”
