I had texted my ex not to come. She agreed and stayed away. I went home with Teresa. Once home, I showered and then had dinner with my family before retiring to my room.

I took my phone out and called Net.

"Hello P, what's up?"

"Busy, Net?"

"No, P. Why?"

"I wanted to say thank you for earlier. You got me out of a spot.. "

"No problem, P. I am not exactly sure what's going on, but I do know Teresa does not like that girl. And I figured if she knew she was coming, I felt that you would get into bigger trouble with Teresa. You know how fiesty Teresa can be."

I laughed against my better will. I agreed with him.

"Net.. I feel like I should tell you who she is. That's the least I can do given that you got me out of a spot."

"Just share when you are ready, P. You don't have to force yourself."

I was quiet for a bit on the phone. Finally, I told Net on whom the girl was.

"Kyunn and I had been dating since our high-school days. We were high school sweethearts. We had gone to the same university. It was there that my best friend also joined us to study. We were like 3 musketeers, but I found out about a year later that Kyunn had been seeing him behind my back. It was a 4 year relationship that I had put all of my heart in. It really threw me off. I actually left the university, choosing to go to UK to continue studying there and pursuing my passion in photography. To be honest, only my family knew how torn I was when Kyunn and I broke up which is why Teresa is hopping mad. But Kyunn.....she's a really nice girl and really regrets what she did and wants to come back to me...I just..don't know.."

Net was awfully quiet. Then he finally spoke. It was brief but succinct and to the point. And he made me think. Oh a whole fucking load.

"P..if Kyunn had really loved you, why did she fall for your best friend? And if you really had meant the world to her, why did she even do that? She wouldn't have left you for your best friend if she did really love you."

I was quiet. I didn't know what to say. I wanted to say a thousand things to defend Kyunn but I was just silent.

"I'm sorry if I said anything to make you upset P. I just....I can understand why Teresa is so angry. P, I honestly can tolerate anything but cheating. Nobody deserves to be cheated on and I always believe that once a cheater, always a cheater. I don't know Kyunn, P but I know you slightly better and you deserve the world, P."

I was just quiet. I was about to say something but Net was called by his parents so he had to get off the phone.

"Go on ahead. Thank you for listening to me."

Net just hummed in response and hung up. I just sat back, looking at the phone and at the framed photograph on the table, the one of Kyunn, me and my best friend. Or ex best friend as I would say.
