Oblivion

Blood of the Dragon[on Hold]

Viserys and Aemmas chambers

Night had fallen in Kings Landing, and Viserys had walked into his chambers after being treated by the Grandmaester for a cut that the king received from the Iron Throne.

Aemma had been in the bath for a while. She felt relaxed and did not want to leave the tub. She was so deep in thought that she didn't even hear the door open and closing.

"You spend more time in that bath than I do on the throne." She heard her husband's voice.

Aemma sighed. "This is the only place I find comfort these days." She said.

Viserys dipped his fingers in the water. "It's tepid."

"It's as warm as the maesters will allow." Aemma said.

"Don't they know that dragons prefer heat?" He asked.

"Hm, after this miserable pregnancy is over, I wouldn't be surprised if I hatched an actual dragon." Aemma said.

Viserys chuckled and took his wife's hand. "Then he will be loved and cherished. He said and kissed her hand."

"Rhaenyra has already declared that she is to have a sister." Aemma pointed out.

"Really?" He asked.

"She even named her." The Arryn Queen said.

"Dare I ask?" He inquired.

"Visenya." She said, and Viserys scoffed. "She chose a dragons egg for the cradle that she said reminded her of Vhagar."

"Gods be good. This family already has its Visenya." Viserys said.

"Has there been any word from your dear brother?" Aemma asked.

"Not since I named him commander of the City Watch." He answered. "I'm sure Daemon would appear for the tourney." He said.

"Why do you insist that we will have another boy, you do understand that nothing will cause the babe to grow a cock if it does not already possess one?" She asked.

"I wouldn't be doing this if our son would marry." He said frustratedly.

"What's really bothering you, my love?" She asked.

"I want him to have a family, I want him to be even more ready to take the throne. The first time I held him, I saw it all, our boy, Rhaegon, wearing the conquerers crown, welding the conquerers sword and I heard the sound of thundering hooves, splintering shields and ringing swords, and I placed Rhaegon, our son on the Iron Throne... as the bells of the Grand Sept tolled and all the dragons roared as one." Viserys said.

Aemma smiled at her husband, but then changed her facial expression. "This is the last one, Viserys, I've already lost too many babies, and I refuse to lose another, it breaks my heart to tell you this but I cannot, I will not go through it again, I've spoken to Rhaegon and we will help you with his betrothal." She said.

Viserys sighed and nodded at his wife and kissed her on her forehead. "I love you."

"As do I." Aemma told him. She didn't want to mention that she had given her blessing for Rhaegon to wed Rhaenyra when she grew older until she gave birth.

Training yard

Swords were clashing as Rhaegon and Daemon were sparring.

"You're sloppy." Daemon said.

"No. I'm uninterested." Rhaegon corrected.

"Well, get interested." Daemon kicked his nephew in his stomach, and Rhaegon stumbled back. He then quickly blocked Daemon's attack with his sword. Daemon then pushed Rhaegon aside and pushed his face against the wall.

"You really are a massive ego, aren't you?" Rhaegon asked. "The rogue prince, Daemon Targaryen. The brother who was casted aside as heir by his nephew."

Daemon pushed Rhaegons head harder. "From where I'm standing, you should've died at birth." Daemon taunted.

"You're just a second son who will die and no one will remember him." Rhaegon taunted back. "But I will be a king." Rhaegon grappled out of Daemons grip and punched Daemon in his rib. Daemon groaned, and Rhaegon took advantage by tossing Daemon over his shoulder. "I'm the son of King Viserys and Heir to the throne."

"Yes. Something I still find hard to believe." Daemon groaned.

Rhaegon helped his uncle up. "Come. Let us go and eat." He said.

"Perhaps another time. Tonight, I'm cleaning up the streets." Daemon said and walked off.

Small council chambers

The next morning

The next morning, King Viserys, Prince Rhaegon, and Ser Otto Hightower made their way to the small council chambers, Otto was reporting what Daemon was doing the previous night. "It was an unprecedented roundup of criminals of every ilk, I'm told some weren't even criminals, and your brother made a public show of it. He was meting out the summary judgments himself" He continued. "I'm also told they needed a two-horse cart to haul away the resulting dismembered when it was done."

"Gods be good." Viserys sighed.

"At least the streets are cleaned of rapers and murderers now." Rhaegon said. "We should congratulate Daemon."

"Prince Daemon cannot be allowed to act with this kind of unchecked impunity." Otto said.

When they entered the small council chambers, all members stood up to acknowledge the Kings presence except Daemon. He sat in the chair next to Viserys, and he was still covered in blood from last night.

"Brother." Daemon greeted his brother, who was covered in dirt and dried blood.

"Daemon." Viserys greeted. He said and looked at Otto. "Carry on, you were saying something about my impunity." Daemon remarked.

"You are to explain your doings with the city watch." Otto demanded.

"Your new gold cloaks made quite the impression last night, didn't they, uncle?" Rhaegon inquired.

"Did they?" Daemon remarked with a smirk. "I didn't even notice."

"The City Watch is not a sword to be wielded at your whim it is an extension of the crown." Otto reminded Daemon, he wouldnt say this to Rhaegon, not in front of the king, at least.

"The Watch was enforcing the crowns laws, wouldn't you agree, Lord Strong?" Vaegon inquired, defending his uncle.

"My prince, I don't think -" Lyonel started but was cut off by Otto

"Making a public spectacle of wanton brutality is hardly in line with our laws." Otto said.

"Your hand truly must be heavy. What's that saying, the king shits and the hand wipes? Rhaegon inquired and chuckled. "Nobles from every corner of the realm are right now decending upon Kings Landing for my uncle's tourney. Do you want them mugged, raped, murdered?" Rhaegon asked, coming to the defense of his uncle.

"You might not know this unless you left the safety of the Red Keep, but much of Kings Landing is seen by the smallfolk as lawless and terrifying." Daemon defended his actions. He then turned to his brother. "Our city should be safe for all its people."

"And isn't mothers safety important, father?" Rhaegon asked his father.

"Her safety is paramount, my son. Viserys said. Viserys decided to ease the tension. "I agree with you, but you don't have to maim half of my city to achieve this any of your goals." The king said.

"Time will tell." Daemon stated, and Viserys was taken aback by that response.

"We installed Prince Daemon as commander to promote law and order. The criminal element should fear the City Watch." Lord Corlys pointed out.

"Thank you for your support, Lord Corlys." Daemon acknowledged.

"If only the prince would show the same devotion to his lady wife as he does his work, your grace." Otto remarked. "You've not been seen in the Vale or Runestone for quite some time.".

"I think my bronze bitch of is happier for my absence." Daemon said

"Lady Rhea is your wife, a good and honorable lady of the Vale." Otto said.

"In the Vale men are said to fuck sheep instead of women and I can assure you that the sheep are prettier." Daemon countered and Viserys sighed and Rhaegon snorted.

"Dear me." said Lord Lyman

"You made a vow before the Seven to honor your wife in marriage." Otto pointed out.

"Well I'd gladly give Lady Rhea to you, Lord Hightower if you're in want of a woman to warm your bed." Daemon offered. "Your own lady wife passed recently." Otto furiously got up from his seat.

"Otto." Viserys tried to calm him down

"Did she not?" Daemon asked innocently.

"I dont think he's ready to move on yet." Rhaegon smirked.

"You know how my brother and son make sport of provoking you." Viserys chimed in. "Must you indulge him?"

"My apologies, your grace." Otto said and sat down.

"This council has at great expense bettered the City Watch to your exacting standards". Viserys looked at his brother. "Enforce my laws but understand any further performances like lastnight's will be answered."

"Understood, your grace." Daemon got up to leave.

"You do know that he's right?" Rhaegon asked.

"His methods are questionable, my prince." Otto stated.

"Yes well, my father chose to make my mother pregnant after she lost five babes already. I can't be the only one who worries for her safety." Rhaegon said.

"Rhaegon." Viserys sighed. "I only wanted another son in the event that something happens to you."

"Sounds as if you're ready to replace me already, father." Rhaegon spat.

"I would never." Viserys said. "Please understand that as king I have to be ready for anything."

"Even of it includes the death of your wife?" Rhaegon asked.

"Your mother won't die, my son." Viserys said.

Rhaegon rose from his seat. "For your sake, I hope you're right." Rhaegon then left the small council chambers.

Brothel

Rhaegon was angry at his father and he needed a release. He was pounding a whore from behind and the whore moaned in pleasure.

"You feel so good Rhaenyra!" Rhaegon groaned.

The whore laughed. This was the third time that Rhaegon had called her by the princesses name.

"It's Marie, my prince." She said.

"Fuck. Forgive me." Rhaegon pulled out amd sat on the edge of the bed.

"You didn't need to stop, my prince." She said and started kissing Rhaegons neck. "What troubles you?"

"You wouldn't understand." Rhaegon said.

"I think I do." She said. "You're in love with someone and you cannot fuck her how you fuck me. You're afraid that you might hurt her."

"She means everything to me." Rhaegon said.

"We don't have to continue if you don't want to." She said. "But your cock is still hard."

Rhaegon smirked. "I wouldn't want it to go to waste now." Marie giggled and climbed on top of Rhaegon. She then rode him from the rest of the night.

The day of the tourney had finally come and king Viserys couldn't be happier because his wife had gone into labor and his eldest son and heir was to compete in this tourney.

Every lord and lady of the Realm had come to witness the tourney and every knight that could had participated. The spectators cheers loudly as they waited for their king to speak.

"Be welcome." Viserys said with a kingly voice. "I know many of you have traveled long leagues to be at these games, but I promise you will not be disappointed. When I look at the fine knights in these lists, I see a group without equal in our histories, and this great day has been made more auspicious by the news he noticed Rhaenyra pass that ibam happy to share; Queen Aemma has begun her labors!" The audience applauded and cheered. "May the luck of the Seven shine upon all combatants!"

The clashing began and Rhaegon had already unhorsed a few knights, as did Daemon. Both uncle and nephew were having fun.

They saw a knight who also was very skilled. "A mystery knight?" Rhaenyra asked.

"No, a Cole, of the Stormlands." Alicent answered.

"I've never heard of House Cole." Rhaenyra said.

Just then, Boremond Baratheon rode up to the royal pavilion. "Princess Rhaenys Targaryen, I would humbly ask for the favor of the Queen who never was." He said arrogantly.

Princess Rhaenys got up and threw her favor on his Lance. "Good fortune to you, cousin."

"I would gladly take it if I thought I needed it." He said, bursting with confidence.

Rhaenys smiled and went back to sit with her husband.

"You could have that Baratheons tongue for that." Otto whispered to the King.

"Tongues will not change the succession." Viserys waved it off. "Let them wag."

"Lord Stokeworths daughter is promised to that young Tarly squire." Rhaenyra started to gossip.

"Lord Massey's son?" Alicent inquired.

"Mm-hm, I've heard they're to be married as soon as he wins his knighthood." Rhaenyra confirmed.

"Best, get on with it. I heard Lady Elinore hiding a swollen belly beneath her dress." Alicent said, and Rhaenyra gave her a look of disbelief.

Lord Boremond had been unhorsed by the Cole knight, and the crowd enjoyed it even though the king was having fun.

Rhaenyra called Ser Harrold. "What do you know of Ser Criston Cole, Ser Harrold?"

"I'm told Ser Criston is common-born." The old knight told her as he knelt down to her level. "Son of lord Dondarrions steward, but other than that, and the fact that he's just unhorsed both of the Baratheon lads, I couldn't say."

Just then, a line of knights were on their horses, ready to be picked out as to be challenged

"Prince Daemon of House Targaryen, prince of the city, will now choose his next opponent." The announcer declared. He rode past the knights who were waiting to be chosen, then he rode back to see again that was when he made his choice and smirked. He pointed his Lance at the Hightower knight. He knew it was Ottos' son. Rhaegon smirked at this. "For his next challenge, Prince Daemon Targaryen chooses Ser Gwayne Hightower of Oldtown, eldest son of the Hand of the King!"

Gwayne rode forward and bowed before the king and his father, Daemon, looked at the crowd and smirked.

Alicent began biting her finger, and Rhaenyra held her hand as she knew her friend was nervous.

"Five gold dragons on Daemon." The master of coin Lord Lyman Beesbury placed his bet.

Daemon looked at the crowd then at Gwayne, then at his brother, and finally, when he looked at Otto and he smirked at him

"Ha!" He commanded his horse to gallop forward, when they clashed Vaegon took the first strike and his Lance broke and Otto silently celebrated but when they came back Daemon used a his Lance and pointed it at the Gwaynes horse's legs and the horse fell forward as did Gwayne most of the horse fell on Gwayne. Even the crowd was in shock by this dishonorable display by Prince Daemon.

Alicent gasped when she saw what was happening, Otto leaned forward, hoping his son was fine. Viserys looked down in disappointment.

Daemon then rode to the pavilion where Princess Rhaenyra, Lady Alicent, were sitting. Rhaenyra had gotten up to meet him, and Alicent followed.

"Nicely done, uncle." She said

"Thank you, princess." He acknowledged and then he looked at Alicent. "Now I'm fairly certain I can win these games, Lady Alicent, but having your favor will all but assure it." He then extended his Lance to her.

She smiled and then turned around to grab her favor and saw her father give her a disappointed look. She then threw her favor on his Lance. "Good luck, my prince." She said.

"Not bad." Rhaegon said.

"Well anything to get under Ottos skin." Daemon said.

"The one thing we can agree on." Rhaegon chuckled.

Suddenly, a messenger came to Otto, and Otto whispered something to the king, Viserys then got up and left.

The tourney went on throughout the day, and it became wild. The men who had lost challenged the winners in a contest of arms, and many men either got badly hurt or got killed.

Rhaegon on the other hand was enjoying himself. He knew that most of these knights wouldn't dare harm the Heir to the Iron Throne, but Rhaegon saw that as their fault, not his.

"And the day grows ugly." Princess Rhaenys said.

"I wonder if this is how we should celebrate the King's son's birth." Corlys stated just as annoyed as his wife.

"Hmm." She huffed. "It's been seventy years since Maegors end, these knights are as green as summers grass, none of them have known real war, their lords sent them to the tourney field with fists full of steel and balls full of seed and we expect them to act with honor and grace, It's a marvel that war didn't break out at first blood." Rhaenys said.

A few hours later, it was time for Rhaegons final challenge. "Ser Criston Cole will now tilt against Prince Rhaegon Targaryen, Heir to the Iron Throne." The people were excited as was Rhaegon. Ser Criston had unhorsed his uncle, and he wanted to see what this knight was made of.

Both of them got ready and pointed their lances at each other, they commanded their horses to gallop forward, and their lances clashed and broke, they came back for another round, but something distracted Rhaegon. "Mother." He said and this time when they clashed, Ser Cristons Lance hit its mark and had Rhaegon sliding on his back against the pole until he fell off his horse. His assistant tried to help him up, and Rhaegon shoved him off.

"Sword!" Rhaegon yelled.

"Prince Rhaegon wishes to continue in a contest of arms!"

The two men faced each other and started fighting, Ser Criston had his morningstar, and Rhaegon had his sword. Ser Criston swung wild, but not wild enough that it wasn't easy to block or dodge. All he needed to do was to get the crown prince to submit. He hit Rhaegon shield until it broke.

Rhaegon managed to regain the upper hand by also swinging as wildly, but his intention was to kill Ser Criston. Ser Criston managed to disarm Rhaegon of his sword and repeatedly hit his shield, but Rhaegon saw an opening and hit Ser Criston with his shield twice and kicked him in his chest Rhaegon then celebrated with his back turned to Ser Criston and he took this distraction as an opportunity to hit Rhaegon on his armor and the crown prince fell down. Rhaegon quickly hurried to get his sword but was stopped by Ser Criston when he kicked it away and Rhaegon reached for his dagger but Ser Criston stepped on his arm, he then raised his weapon up at Rhaegon.

"Yield?" Ser Criston asked

"I yield." Rhaegon said. He then thought about his mother and when he got up, he ran to the Red Keep.

"Rhaegon!" Rhaenyra shouted, but Rhaegon continued running, not knowing that what was happening would change his life forever.
