Facing Darkness Is Kinda My Thing

Part 2

RECAP

Hope tilted her head a little bit. "Facing darkness is kind of my thing. Her thing is to knock me out so I don't always be the hero." Hope explained, pointing at herself before back to you.

The pig stared blankly into Hopes eyes. "Fine." He stated, now looking into your eyes as well. "Fine! Gah! You two are bossy little things, you know that?" The pig questioned.

You and Hope smiled "Ah, that's a compliment in our world." Hope responded.

"Remind me not to visit that place." The pig stated and started walking, you and Hope following.

————

It was now day and you and Hope were still following the pig to find Josie. Once Josie came into sight, you and Hope ran up to her body, Hope on on side while you were not he other. "Josie? Josie? Josie, wake up." Hope grabbed her shoulder and shook her lightly.

The pig then ame up beside Hope. "You should try kissing her, maybe." The pig suggested.

You and Hope immediately looked over at the pig. "I know this is a fairy tale and all, but a nonconsensual kiss is never the answer." She responded. "Besides, she's my girlfriend." Hope pointed at you before looking back down at Josie.

The pig stayed quiet after Hope said that. "Well, excuse me, little Miss Big Words." The pig replied, ignoring the fact they said that. "You got a better idea?" The pig then asked.

"I do. Surgere." Hope chanted.

The pig then squealed, extremely scared. "Hey! We said no magic." The pig brought up the agreement from before.

You let out a sigh. "I know you're scared of the Darkness, but may I remind you, this is Josie's subconscious. Nothing can hurt us here." You reminded, getting an uneasy feeling right after as you heard a growling.

"Oh!" The pig exclaimed silently, grabbing onto your hand and Hopes and dragging you over to a wall to hide behind.

You then heard snarling come closer to where you were, this creature most likely standing over Josie. "What the hell is that?" Hope whispered to the pig, confused.

The pig shook in their spot. "That is the Darkness, sweetheart. And it can definitely hurt us." The pig let out a shaky breathe before biting down on its lips so it can stay as silent as possible.

The thing snarled, causing you to get curious and look over the brick wall and see a werewolf with a hood. You then looked over at Hope, seeing she was wearing a red hood, this made you realise this was the Red Riding Hood story. "Little pig, little pig, who's your new friend? I can smell that magic's being used here again." The wolf stated, snarling afterwards.

You then grabbed a rock and rested it in your palm before going over it with your hand. "Saithus." You chanted, the rock glowing. you didn't see this but the pig was watching and trying to get you to stop.

The rock then lifted into the air, immediately being thrown somewhere into the woods before making a loud thud. this caused the wolf to snarl loudly and walk over to where the rock was thrown.

Once the wolf was gone, you three got out of your hiding spots. You smirked at the pig, knowing you got them out of danger. "Happy now, you dumb broad?" The pig slurred, walking over to Josie. "You nearly got us both eaten... which is a lifelong fear of mine, I'll have you know." The pig stated, stopping next to Josie.

"Oh really? I didn't notice." You responded sarcastically.

"And now the Darkness knows your magic-using ass' are here." The pig continued, ignoring your comment.

Hope rolled her eyes, looking over at you before back down at the pig. "Yeah? Well, her magic just saved our asses." Hope recalled the scenario, grabbing onto your hand and pulling you over to Josie.

"After I pulled you to safety!" The pig retorted, getting angry.

Hope then turned around, letting go of your hand and clasped both of hers together as she spoke to the pig. "Oh, yeah. Thank you so much for pulling us behind a single piece of rubble." She stated sarcastically.

"What do you want from me?" The pig said after a moment. "I got hooves for hands." The pig exclaimed.

"I want you to stop talking down to us and be grateful that she just saved our bacon." Hope exclaimed, becoming agitated and annoyed with the pig.

The pig gasped, obviously offended by this. "Oh! How dare you!" The pig turned around with crossed arms, not wanting to look at Hope.

Hope let out a sigh. "I'm sorry. It's just a figure of speech, all right?" Hope explained. The pig did nothing and this caused Hope to place her hands on the pigs shoulder. "Look, truce, okay?" She questioned, only earning a grunt from the pig, causing her hands to fall to her side.

You decided to cut in. "Look, we all miss Josie and we can work together to wake her up." You suggested.

The pig turned around and looked up at you. "If we do that, the Darkness will only grow again.Princess Josie did what she did for a reason." The pig responded.

"She made her sacrifice because she didn't know that help was coming." Hope commented. "So, if we can't wake her up, then we're just gonna have to defeat the Darkness ourselves." Hope stated a plan to the pig, earning a scared look from the pig.

————

Lizzie or who was now you, was helping two girl place flowers on the stair railing fro the funeral. "What's Landon up to?" One of the girls asked after a moment.

Lizzie shrugged. "I don't know." She responded. "Probably off somewhere being a total beta." She continued, forgetting about the fact that she was 'dead' and had to be undercover. The two girls stopped what they were doing, confused by 'your' words. The blonde then realised what she had said and turned around, also shocked. "Which is what I love about my older brother." She thought of something quick.

The girl that asked the question nodded. "Mmm." She hummed, turning around to look up at her friend. "You bringing anyone to the funeral?" The girl asked, earning a small smile and a shrug from her friend.

Lizzie gave the girl a confused look to the girl. "You guys are bringing dates to the funeral?" Lizzie questioned, still placing flowers down. Lizzie then chuckled softly shortly after. "Aren't you in, like, mourning or whatever?" She questioned.

"Over Lizzie?" The girls friend ask.

Lizzie looked up at the girl, hurt by her words before down at the flowers, not showing any of it. "I thought she was pretty popular." Lizzie retorted, desperately trying to sound like you.

"Because we were all scared of crossing her." The girl with the glasses stated, this only earned a more saddened expression from Lizzie but she shook it off as quickly as it came. "It's kind of a relief to not have to worry about what crazy thing she's going to do next." The girl chuckled after. "Besides, it's not like she's gone. If The Necromancer brought drama queen Alyssa back, who's to say he can't bring Lizzie back, too?" The girl suggested, knowing she didn't want Lizzie back.

"Unfortunately." The other girl stated, smirking. Her friend with the glasses then laughed, her friend chuckling along with her.

Lizzie wanted to lash out, she wanted to tell those girls to stop teasing her. She knew that if you were here, you would've put those girls in their spot or Hope would've done that, but she held back, knowing she was disguised as you and looked down at the flowers, making up an excuse. "We need more ribbon." She stated sadly, but the girls didn't pick up on it.

Instead of actually going to get ribbon, she went in search of MG and when she was alone, she became herself again and went to the kitchen, assuming her was there and thankfully she was right.

As she entered the kitchen, MG looked over at her, faking shocked incase people were around. "Oh, my God. Lizzie. You're alive-" MG acted, carrying out 'alive' a bit much.

Lizzie rolled her eyes and came up to him. "Drop it. Okay? The coast is clear." Lizzie stated, annoyed.

"Then what are you doing?" MG questioned the blonde.

Lizzie only sighed at his question. "I couldn't pretend for one more second. Nobody is upset about me being dead. They all hate me." Lizzies voice cracked, her eyes becoming glassy as tears coated them.

"They don't hate you, Lizzie's..." MG then trailed off as he saw people walk in and quickly caught himself. "favourite cousin, Kate." Lizzie turned around quickly but turned pack and placed the ring on her finger, turning to you. "I think they only just got to know one side of her. That's what my eulogy's about." MG continued, still trying to comfort Lizzie.

'Your' eyes then lit up. "Great idea. The perfect eulogy would force everyone to remember what an amazing person that-" She stopped herself from saying 'I'. "-she was. And I should be the one to do it. After all, I knew her the best." Lizzie stated, trying to say everyone that was great about her since she knew herself best.

"I don't— I don't think that's a good idea." MG caught on and wasn't that onboard with the plan.

"It's what Lizzie would've wanted." 'You said through a smile.

MG gave in, nodding. "Okay." He responded.

————

It was now the funeral and MG and Lizzie were sat at the front. MG then got up to start the funeral. "Where's my dad?" Lizzie whispered to him.

"He'll be here any moment." MG whispered back and went onto the stage, bowing slightly. Kaleb then started playing the piano while the screen came down for the video. "A memory of Lizzie? Um... I miss- Lizzie- so bad. The entire school will- never get over it." The clips were cut to make it sound as if people were speaking nicely about Lizzie.

"Lizzie was always..." Jed trailed off, indistinct murmuring taking up the whole hall as the video played. "uh... really cool. Really hot." Lizzie or 'you' for that matter looked at the video to MG who then looked over to you.

"So many memories of Lizzie. And the fact that we remember Lizzie at all means that she didn't go into Malivore. Which, that-that's something-" Lizzie then shook her head.

MG then shook his head to the projection guy and shook his hand over his neck, meaning to shut it off. "All right. Uh... technical difficulties, folks." MG covered up, the screen now black and disappearing. "We're just gonna move on with the next part of the service." MG commented, moving to sit next to Lizzie.

Kaleb and Jed then got up and walked to the front. "Thank you." Kaleb stated to the audience. Uh... this one's for Lizzie Saltzman." Kaleb stated, like this funeral wasn't for her.

"How do I say goodbye to what we had?" Kaleb started, earning a nod and smile from Lizzie and MG.

"The good times, that made us laugh, outweigh the bad." Jed continued, continuing 'bad' for too long.

Kaleb then took over. "And I thought we'd get..."

"To see... To see." They said at the same time, causing them tos top but continue. "Forever. But forever's gone away. Ooh, you know it's gone."

"Okay." Lizzie said, getting up. People started muring and laughing at the fact they fought over the mic.

"You know it's gone. You know it's gone away. Doo-do-do-do-do-do-do, gone." They continued singing, Kaleb doing the last part. 'You' then got to the mic and pushed them away.

"Okay, thank you." Lizzie complemented even though she wasn't meaning too. "Thank you so much for... whatever that was." Lizzie continued, Kaleb going back to sit at the piano while Jed moved to lean on the piano.

Lizzie then cleared her throat. "I'm here today to deliver the eulogy for Elizabeth Jenna Saltzman." 'You' started. "Lizzie was more than one thing. She was a witch, a daredevil, a lover." She continued.

There was hushed whispers from then students. "Was she a saint? Eh, who's to say? But I can say this. She was the absolute best of us." Lizzie stated, smiling but he smile faltered when students laughed at what 'you' said. Lizzie continued anyway. "She was a kind soul." More laughter, Lizzies smile now gone. "She was kind, and nice." Lizzie tried getting her point across.

The students then laughed once again. "And sometimes she was just tired or having a bad day, or whatever." Lizzie tried playing it off but the laughter continued. "You all think you knew her, but you didn't. You're all wrong!" Lizzie accused, angry at the fact she was hated this much and walked off the stage and out of the hall, students still laughing.

————

The pig had brought you and Hope somewhere that will apparently help you fight the Darkness. As you approached a house, Hope took off her hood to see better while the pig knocked on the door and opened it, the door creaking. Once the door was fully open, you all could se no on inside. "That's strange. He's always home." The pig stated, walking side, you and Hope following.

"Hello? Mr. Huntsman?" The pig called out. "I brought nosy friends." The pig continued, earning you to give the pig a dirty look. The pig then sniffed out. "Oh, stew's on. He must be nearby." The pig commented, looking up at you and Hope.

Hope then caught eye of the axes to cut wood, walking over to them while you leaned against the kitchen counter. Hope picked up the axe, turning around as she looked at it. "Ah. Nice."

"Sweetie, if you think that's enough to stop the Darkness, you are crazy." The pig stated to the auburn haired girl.

"Probably, but I'm not going down without a fight." Hope retorted. She then looked up at you. "Are you?" She questioned.

You shook your head at her questioned. "No way am I missing out on the opportunity to save Josie." You replied.

Hope smiled, then turned to the pig, picking up at small knife. "What do you say? Are you in?" She questioned, walking towards the pig to hand the knife over.

The pig stuttered a bit. "I-I would be no use in battle. I-I know, I bluster a lot. But, uh, I just get so scared, and—and then I say dumb stuff when I'm scared." The pig explained why they shouldn't join the battle.

"Yeah, I know." Hope stated, knowing how scared the pig would get.

The pig then pointed behind him to the stew. "I-I could finish the stew, though. Maybe find some bread. Uh, make you two a nice meal before you go off to die." The pig stated, trying to get out of dying.

Hope then placed the knife down. "That'll do, pig." Hope said, giving him a nickname.

The pig turned around from the stew. "Don't press your luck, kiddo." The pig stated, earning a chuckle from Hope. The pig then touched the lid slightly to check if it was hot. "Ah..." The pig then opened the lid, but immediately squealed wildly as the pig must've seen something scary within the stew.

You and Hope shared a confused look at the sudden change. "It's a trap!" The pig exclaimed.

Just then the door burst open, revealing the 'Darkness', it then roaring. You quickly moved away from the desk and over to Hope, the pig standing behind you two. Hope raised her hand, shutting the door immediately along with a plank of wood to hold it in place.

"Little witches, little witches, let... me... in!" The Darkness roared, pausing between each word. Hope raised up the axe as soon as the monster growled from behind the door.

The sound of wind whooshing brought Josie back from her subconscious as she looked up at the roof, her eyes returning to normal. "Hope Mikaelson and Kate Lockwood... are you in my head?" She questioned herself before falling onto the concrete unconscious.
