RECAP

Rafael stayed quiet before continuing. "But you can change that with a phone call and just speak to him over the phone." Rafael commented. "He'd buy you a bus ticket tomorrow." Rafael tried proving his point that it was a good idea to go.

You rolled your eyes. "I can buy my own ticket, but I won't." You declined.

"And you can develop those photos." Hope cut in, looking between the both of you.

You and Rafael looked at her before looking back at each other, grateful Hope was on your side. "Sorry, Raf, but no." You said, grabbing the tray of used glasses and walked away to the sink to wash them.

————

You grabbed your bus ticket from the bench before placing it in your coat pocket. "Kate." You heard Hope call, but you didn't bother looking back at her. You decided to go ahead and by a bus ticket, not because Rafael said too, but because you really wanted to see your brother again. "Kate, you said you wouldn't." Hope grabbed your arm since you were about to shut your suit case.

Turning you around, she lifted your chin up so you could meet her eyes. "I know, but I need to see him. It's been years." You responded.

You heard Hope let out a sigh before you heard her lift something up. "Then I'm coming with you." Hope stated.

You turned around, seeing she also had a suit case ready to go. "What about the bar?" You questioned.

"We have other workers here to run it." Hope shrugged, smiling lightly.

You smiled back. "Alright." You shook her head, you loved the fact that she would just go anywhere with you.

Just then, multiple loud knocks had come from the very entrances of Landons. You and Hope glanced over before you looked down at your suit case, making sure you grabbed everything you wanted. "We're closed!" Hope told the women.

Although, the knocking didn't go away and continued. "Kate Olivia Lockwood and Hope Andrea Mikaelson! Open this damn door!" The women yelled, you and Hope stopping as soon as she said both your full names. You both walked towards the door. "Someone's trying to kill me!" She continued.

Hope opened the door to the point where the chain had stopped it, watching a distressed movie star glancing around in panic. "You're that movie star." Hope commented before moving on. "How do you know our names?" She questioned.

"It's a long story." The actress responded, basically trying to push her way through the door like a ghost. "Which you won't believe. But, um, oh, I can prove it!.I know your deep, dark damage. You don't get close to people because they leave you or die, right?" The actress rambled.

You then moved Hope out of the way, looking over the girl. "And you! You have the same problem, although you're a lot more open than Hope but you lost your parents when you were extremely young, causing you to grow up in the foster system and forming a connection with Landon and Rafael." She continued rambling. "Well, that's exactly what's gonna happen if you don't let me in. So, please, help me help you." She begged.

"You're right. Hopes spent her whole life pushing people away. I've probably done the same if I'm being honest." You started speaking up, explaining. "And I'm about to change that by going after my brother with her. So, sorry, but w have a bus to catch." You started into her panicked eyes before shutting the door.

"No, no, no. Kate, Kate, Kate, Kate." The actress called, sounding scared out of her mind. You let out a sigh before walking back over to your suit case.

————

Lizzie ran through the streets before running down an ally way. She can to an abrupt stop when she saw a van. "A little on the nose, don't you think?" Lizzie questioned even though she knew she wouldn't get an answer.

Just then footsteps approached, showing Josie, expect it was the way she was in the prison world after the Black magic effect, all dark and doesn't have a car in the world. Josie let her hand fall, looking over at Lizzie with her dark eyes before looking over at her sister. "Hello, sister." She called, her eyes returning normal.

She made her way to Josie, exhaling since Lizzie was shocked to see her like this. "Don't look so shocked. One of us was always going to become a killer." Josie stated, announcing she killed people.

"Because of the Merge." Lizzie breathed out when she realised what her sister was talking about. "That's what this whole thing has been about." Lizzie continued.

Josie came to a stop, shrugging her shoulders with her hands flailing slightly. "I made it that way. Remove everyone until it was just you and me. Even then, Josie was still willing to take the fall to let you win. Ironic, isn't it? I had to kill Josie so that she could survive." Josie explained.

Lizzies body started to shake a bit, scared of the way her sister was. "I am her, too, of course. The parts of her she keeps buried inside. That resent her and you for making her weak. Mixed in with a little dark magic. Enough to..." She twirled her finger int he air. "...rewrite the rules, and show you that I'm stronger than you can ever be." Josie explained, walking away with a little sway to her hips.

Josie came to a stop when Lizzie spoke up. "I didn't have to play any game to know that. You always have been." Lizzie explained, Josie smirking at the sound of her sister realising that she was 'meant' to lose the Marge. "So what? Are you just gonna kill me now?" Lizzie questioned, taking a few steps forwards.

Josie turned around, cocking a revolver as she pointed it at Lizzie, the blonde letting out a sharp breathe. "We both knew it would come to this." She stated.

"Fine. Then you win. I'm done with this stupid simulation." Lizzie explained, standing still.

Josie laughed softly as she shook her head. "You're not going anywhere. I rewrote the rules, remember? So I pull this trigger, and your mind is stuck here while your body waits for me to absorb it during the Merge in the real world." Josie explained, smirking and thinking of the thought of winning the Merge.

Tears lined Lizzies eyes. "Josie, please. I-I know I don't do a good job of showing it, but... I love you, even more than I love myself. So don't do this." Lizzie pleaded, begging her sister not to kill her just so she could die again in the real world.

"Hmm. Sorry, sis. It's you or me." Her eyes then turned black. "And there's no fighting fate." Josie explained, re-pointing the gun at Lizzie.

Hope then walked out from behind the wall, grabbing Josies arm and pointing it away from Lizzie. The two girls fought over the gun pushing each other but as soon as you saw Hope get pushed against the wall, you ran towards them, pushing Josie off and continuing the fight.

You and Josie then fought ove the gun, it slipped out of her hand slightly, causing you to grab it and pulled the trigger, a deafening sound coming from the gun itself. You and Hope breathed heavily as you watched the women's body fall to the ground, limp.

You calmed your breathing after a few seconds before dropping the gun next to the women's body and walked forward, Hope moving to stand next to you. "I thought you two had a bus to catch." Lizzie stated, smirking the slightest bit.

You locked eyes with her. "I want to be with my brother, my girlfriend more but I haven't seen him in years and yes, I want to see him." You paused before continuing. "But we couldn't get on that bus if it meant an innocent person was going to die." You explained, Hope agreeing with you.

"That is such a Hope and Kate move." Lizzie commented. Both of your attention turned to the wall, Hopes eyes on a sign whiles yours was actually on the wall itself. "Let me guess. You're seeing a word right now." Lizzie commented, smiling.

You and Hope looked back at Lizzie. "Yes. What does it mean?" Hope questioned while you nodded.

"Say the word, and I will tell you in the real world." Lizzie stated, grabbing one of your hands and Hopes.

"Fatum." Hope said.

"Ignis Fatuus." You said after Hope.

The sign lit into sparks while the wall seemed to have cracked a little bit. The world then got extremely bright before you returned to the real world. You opened your eyes, adjusting to reality before realising your hand was still interlaced with Hopes. You then looked over at Hope to see she was awake and looking at you and Lizzie, who seemed to still be unconscious.

Just then, Lizzie woke up as well, immediately looking over at you and Hope. You three smiled at each other before looking over at Emma. "Oh, thank God." Emma exclaimed, thankful most of us had woken up. "I was beginning to think I'd need therapy myself." Emma stated.

You then immediately got up, disconnecting your hand with Hopes as she and Lizzie were also getting up. You three then straight away brought each other into a hug before leaving it as MG approached. "Now, um... what are we gonna do about Jo?" MG questioned, the four of you facing Josie, seeing she was still unconscious.

————

You walked into Rafaela room, knocking on the door lightly. "Hey." You greeted, seeing him stood in front of the mirror. "Sorry." You apologised for scaring him.

Rafael then moved towards his bed. "Hey." He replied softly.

"Did you ever develop those photos Hope told you to?" You questioned, walking further into the room.

Rafael then grabbed a jumper, putting it on. "Uh, yeah. Um... not sure what they mean, though." Rafael responded.

You let out a soft chuckle. "Yeah.." You mumbled.

Rafael then moved to sit down. "Did you ever buy that bus ticket?" He questioned, sitting down on the edge of his bed.

You nodded your head, playing with your finger. "Yeah." You chuckled. "I, uh, I didn't use it, though. So here I am, still trying to find Landon." You explained.

"Yeah, except he's not gone, Kate. I mean, he's just busy learning how to fly." Rafael commented. "Is everything okay?" He questioned, knowing your upset features.

You moved to sit next to him, looking at the ground. "Uh... apparently not. Um... I guess I just thought that I was crystal clear on my damage..." You stated, trailing off.

Rafael stayed quiet before commenting on your statement. "Yeah, well, sometimes knowing what's wrong doesn't make things any easier." Rafael sounded like a wise elder giving advise to a young child.

"But what if what the game, box, whatever you want to call it was trying to teach me is that I'll always have to choose between my girlfriend and the Saltzmans and Landon?" You questioned, upset at the thought of choosing a side. "Like some impossible choice that I'm gonna have to make." You rambled, whispering some parts.

Rafael shrugged. "Then choose him. It's like I said in the bar-"

"I did." You bluntly said. "I did and it felt good. It felt right but I was leaving them." You explained. "But it wasn't right and it will never be right because if I had gotten onto that bus today with Hope, we wouldn't have gotten out of the game." You started explaining, remembering what you did while in the game. "I wasn't allowed to leave until I chose someone over him." You continued, looking over at Rafael.

"Was that my lesson? That no matter how much I want him to be safe at this school, Landon's doomed no matter what." You finished explaining, looking back down with tears in your eyes.

Rafael wrapped an arm around your shoulder, causing you to lean your head on his shoulder. "Hey, hey, hey... it's just a simulation." Rafael reminded you.

You nodded your head, continuing to tell yourself that. "Right. Then why does it feel so true?" You questioned, your voice barely above a whisper.

————

Hope had come and gotten you since she wanted you to be there for when Josie wakes up.Sadly, Josie was in a transitional cellar due to her 'alter ego'. It was a few more minutes after you and Hope got there when Josie had finally woken up. She lifted herself up before looking at all of you through the bars. "Looks like the gang's all here. Hmm, why am I locked up, exactly?" Josie questioned everyone.

"Well, you've been through a lot. How are you feeling?" Alaric questioned his daughter.

"Never better. I think the therapy was really good for me." Josie responded, not sounding like the real Josie.

You, Lizzie and Hope all looked at each other before Lizzie looked back at her sister. "You're full of black magic. I was too selfish to see it before, but... I can feel it." Lizzie explained, extremely worried for her sister. "This isn't you, Jo." Lizzie commented, seeing the way her sister was smirking.

Josies eyes then turned black as she smirked even more. "It is now. So get used to it." Josie stated, her black eyes going back to normal as she then clicked her finger, her appearance going from the sweet Josie to dark Josie. " 'Cause this look is here to stay."

Hope then stepped forward. "Josie, it's okay." Hope reassured her.

You then moved forward as well so you could be next to Hope. "We're just gonna put you back to sleep until we can figure out what's going on with you and to see if there's a way we can help you, okay?" You explained.

"Good idea." Josie whispered, her eyes returning to black as she tilted her head.

As soon as that happened you watched as Hope fell unconscious to the floor, MG catching her but soon after you also fell unconscious, Lizzie running towards you, catching you before you hit the ground.

Lizzie sat on the floor, holding you in her arms while MG did the same with Hope. MG gave a pleading look that screamed to stop what she was doing. "Oh... don't look at me like that, MG. Every Super Squad needs a super villain." Josie smiled. "Autem." She chanted.

The lights then became flickering out of control and the room was shaking as well. "Stop trying to help me, Dad." Josie stated. " 'Cause I've never been better." Josie smiled, her eyes still black as she then raised her hand, the floor detaching and disappearing along with Josie.
