RECAP
"Yeah, I've been trapped and alone for most of my life. I could use the change of scenery." Kai said, you let out a groan and handed the phone back to Josie. "So, I'd smash that Sandclock in the next few seconds if I were you, 'cause I'm about to take a swan dive into oblivion, and I'd hate for you to forget the only thing that can save you." Kai concluded his explanation. "Good luck, kiddo." He whispered before hanging up.
Josie threw the phone to the floor and hurried over to the Sand Clock. "Josie!" You yelled, going to follow her. "Josie stop!" You yelled but she didn't listen but you stopped when she screamed and threw the Sand Clock to the floor, officially breaking it.
Both you and Josie were pushed back the amount of force the black magic explosion had, all of it going into Josie as fast as it could. Luckily you didn't get knocked unconscious but instead got up from the floor and were beside Josie, worried. You watched as she opened her eyes, only to see they were black as the magic fully consumed her.

Instead of being next to Josie and worried, you scurried backwards on the wood floor, watching as she got up, her eyes returning to normal and looking down at you. "Tsk tsk tsk. Come on Kate, you knew this was going to happen." Josie stated, smirking while a hand rested on her hip.
You slowly got up, worried any sudden movement would cause her to lash out. "You won't hurt me." You replied. Josie went to say something but you stopped her by cutting her off. "You won't hurt me because you will feel the guilt of hurting someone innocent." You stated.
Josie tilted her head, taking a few steps closer while you stayed where you were, not scared of Josie. The Saltzman was quite impressed with how much bravery you were having at the moment. "But you aren't so innocent, are you?" She questioned. "Killing someone who was trying to help you to which that activated your curse. Now you get to live with that for the rest of your life, haunting you." Josie emphasised.
You shook your head. "You don't mean that." You breathed out.
She lightly laughed. "You're right." Josie agreed. "The old Josie wouldn't have meant that, but I do." Josie stated, her eyes showing no remorse with what she had said. "Now, let's go get my dad before he gets himself killed at get the hell out of this place." Josie sated.
Both of you walked out of the grill and went towards the Salvatore School. Josie had done a locator spell to find her dad. You opened the door, hearing faint voices of Alaric and Jade speaking, but Alarics sounded like he was using all of his strength.
Josie walked into the main area. "Stay here." Josie ordered from behind the wall. She walked out and found Jade with fangs and veins under her eyes as she held a sword above her head that Alaric was holding. Josie held out her hand and caused something to happen to Jade since she let out a gasp.
Jade suddenly let go of the sword, shaking while Alaric lowered the sword carefully, confused as to what just happened. "I'm so sorry." You heard Jade say before you heard a thump come from where she was standing.
You walked out, watching as Alaric looked from his daughter to you. "Josie... Kate..." He said quietly. "What did you do?" He questioned his daughter, seeing as she wasn't the soft Josie he grew to love.
You moved over to stand by Alaric, not likely being behind Josie. "I fixed her." Josie stated, her black eyes coming out as she tilted her head at Alaric. Alaric then put a hand in front of you, obviously forgetting you were a lot more powerful than him but you just let him do what his instincts were telling him to do.

Distant voices and laughter were heard from where Hope stood at the top of the stairs at the Assembly Hall. She then started walking down the stairs. "But when the arrow finds him, a new hero dies. A new hero rises, and he will take flight." Six girls said in sync. "But when the arrow finds him, a new hero dies. A new hero rises. And he will take flight." They continued.
Hope stood at the bottom of the stairs, a little ways in front as they circled her, locking their hands together while walking in a circle around her. "But when the arrow finds him. A new hero dies. A new hero rises-"
"Stop saying that!" Hope yelled, getting frustrated with them repeating the same things. The girls stopped circling Hope and dropped their hands to their side, all pointing at Hopes hand.
It was then silent as the sound of the sphinx speaking backwards filled the room. "A new hero rises but can be felled by the golden arrow." The sphinxes voice echoed in the room while Hope lifted her hand to her face, realising she was holding a golden arrow.
She then turned around, seeing Landon on the steps. You were next to Landon, holding his wound as tears fell down your face, watching Landon struggle to hold on just for a little bit longer.
"Landon." She exclaimed, worried. She dropped the arrow and jogged to him, checking over him to make sure he was okay since he was holding his side in pain while blood stained his hand.
You let out a chocked sob. "No... no..." You breathed out, more tears going down your face.
Landon groaned in pain before taking his last breathe. "Hope." Josie called, earning her to look behind to find Josie behind her with black eyes. "We're not alone." Josie stated, it echoing.
Hope then woke up, finding herself asleep on the desk with the broken ascendant. She lifted herself up and looked down at the ascendant with a sigh, realising that she didn't fix it before she had drifted off to sleep without realising.
She then picked up a piece of the ascendant, examining it like the answer of how to fix it would just come to her from looking at it. Sadly it didn't, causing her to placing on the table roughly and place her head in her hands.
Instead of just sitting in Ric's office all day, she decided to go see what Landon was doing, as she opened the door, she found him with a board and placing red lines everywhere, as if he was a police officer investigating a case and finding a criminal. "Oh, what's all this?" She questioned, confused.
Landon turned around, walking towards her. "Oh. I couldn't sleep. And I was just up all night trying to figure out how I was able to fly. Or, you know, float." Landon explained rather quickly and pulled Hope towards the board.
Landon let go of her wrist and faced the board once again. "Oh, my God. Tell me you didn't." Hope stated, annoyed and worried as she grabbed his wrist seeing that it had a brace around it.
"Oh, it's just from the top of the garage. I had to see if I could make myself do it again. 'Cause the current working theory is that it's a spike of adrenaline, but so far," Landon said so casually, coming to a stop when he saw Hopes face. Hope continued to see to see if anything else was wrong by glancing at his other hand. this was going to be fun to explain to you. "um... hey." Landon said, more calmer now. "What's wrong?" he questioned, noticing how down she looked.
Hope let go of his arm seeing that it was just sprained and locked eyes with him. "I had a dream last night that you were hurt and Kate and I couldn't save you." Hope explained, her shoulder dropping slightly.
Landon let out a breathe. "It's the prophecy, right?" Landon questioned. "Look, just because I hovered off the ground once doesn't mean that I'm the hero who rises. It could be Wade, for all we know. He's the one with actual wings." Landon explained, sitting on the bed. Hope follow his action.
"No, Dorian said that there is a golden arrow in the inventory of our stolen arsenal. What if it is the one thing that can kill a phoenix?" Hope questioned. "What if you're dead by the time Kate is bad? How would I explain that to her?" Hope questioned, extremely worried.
"Then you'll Superwoman in and save the day, like you always do." Landon calmly stated, trying to calm her down.
Hope shook her head, looking down. "Except I'm pretty much failing as a hero lately. I have no idea how to bring the Saltzmans back. I have no idea how to get Kate back." Hope explained, holding back a cry.
"I knowâ I know you feel like you have to fix this-" Landon started, not finishing since Hope cut him off.
"Because I do!" Hope exclaimed, standing up. "If I don't bring them back, no one else will. If I could just talk to them, Dr.Saltzman would know what to do!" Hope explained.
"That's not an option." Landon said through her rambling, standing up as well. "You told me that astral projection into a prison world is dangerous." Landon stated, making a point. Hope looked down. "Look, I know you feel like this is all on you, but you're not alone. You have me. We'll figure it out. Co-heroes, remember?" He joked.
Hope thought for a moment before giving it. "Fine. But this co-hero is officially banned from flight attempt until the golden arrow is found, okay?" Hope stated, pointing a finger at him.
"No putting myself in danger. No risky astral projection. Deal?" Landon stated, earning a slight not from Hope. "Besides, that golden arrow of yours is as good as found. Dorian has some of our top men working on it." Landon continued, turning to the board.

You and Alaric were walking down the road, following Josie to find Lizzie. "What exactly did you do to Jade?" He questioned, when he didn't get a response, he got agitated. "Josie, talk to me." He exclaimed, looking at you, unable to read your expression but it wasn't like Josies.
"Lizzie's this way. I can feel her." Josie said, ignoring her fathers protests.
"Why did you break the Sandclock?" Alaric questioned.
Josie came to a stop, looking at her father. "I can't remember." Josie responded this time, continuing to walk. She then glanced back at you. "But she does." Josie commented before looking back out to the road.
Alaric looked at you once again, wondering who got her to broke the Sand Clock. He shook the feeling away before looking back at his daughter. "Well, are you okay? I mean, are you in pain?" Alaric inquired, unsure of how to ask the simplest question.
"No." She simply responded. "For the first time in my life, everything feels... clear." Josie replied before pointing at a crashed cop car, her black eyes returning. "There." She said, her voice sounding almost demonic.
Alaric stopped to look at the crashed car. "Lizzie." He breathed out before running to the car. "Lizzie!" He yelled, skidding on the dirt before opening the drivers door to find an unconscious Lizzie with her head on the steering wheel. "It's okay, honey. Easy does it." Alaric gently grabbed her and pulled her back so she was sitting up right.
Lizzie groaned, feeling pain course through her body as she stirred. "Dad." She whispered before exhaling. "Something's wrong. It feels like my mind is breaking." She hushed out, her eyes becoming black, exactly like Josies. Black blood also running down from her nose.
You noticed the glass shard in her stomach, your eyes widening. "Ric." You pointed at the wound.
Alaric looked down at it before back into the eyes of his daughter, cupping her cheek. "It's okay. Easy does it." He said before gently grabbing her and getting her out of the car, earning groans from Lizzie. "We need to get you to the hospital. Everything's gonna be just fine." Alaric strained, lifting Lizzie out of the car to lean on it.
Lizzie coughs, looking at her dad. "Dad, I drank vampire blood. Please don't let me die." Lizzie pleaded, tears in her eyes, obviously petrified for her life.
Alaric looked around before picking Lizzie up. "You're not gonna die." He reassured his daughter.
