RECAP

Kai faked gasped. "Classic double cross. And, uh who's 'we'?" Kai questioned.

You held up a finger, shutting him up. "We answered your question. Now you have to answer hers." You stated.

"Why is Jade here?" Josie questioned.

Kai stayed quiet for a little bit. "Yeah. I'm not the one you should be asking." Kai stated.

You let out a sigh. "Okay, then why am I here?" You questioned.

Kai looked up at you. "So you can spend some dear time with your Uncle you've heard so much bad stuff about." Kai stated, smiling fondly, earning you and Josie to just stare at him.

You and Josie followed after Kai as he was most likely going to Ric. Both of you came to a stop when Kai seemed as if he was listening intently on something before vamp speeding away to the Mystic Grill.

Casting a glance at Josie who was already looking at you, you both took off running to where he went. You both ran through the door only to hear a thump on the ground. "Dad!" Josie called while you called, "Ric!" at the same time.

Alaric looked towards where you and Josie had walked in, looking at a desiccated Kai and heartless werewolf. Alaric held a his crossbow. You connected the dots and realised Kai had a crossbow arrow sticking out of his heart. "Josie. Kate." Alaric breathed out, placing his crossbow down somewhere. "Oh god." He whispered as he brought his daughter in for a hug, shortly after bringing you in for one too.

He then pulled away, looking down at the two bodies before looking over at you and Josie, both of you looking at Kai. "What are you two doing with him? He could've killed you two!" Alaric exclaimed.

Josie looked up to meet her fathers eyes. "He saved our lives, actually." Josie fired back.

"I don't care. He's a liar. You can't trust him. You hear me?" Alaric questioned you and Josie.

Instead of answering his questioned, Josie replied with a question. "Was he lying when he told us you sent a bunch of your old students here to punish them?" Josie questioned, making a point. You now looked up from Kai's body to watch Alaric expression.

He stayed quiet, as if he didn't know how to respond. "I told you, we all make mistakes. I'm not about to make the same one twice." Alaric stated, getting the machete Kai had.

Josie watched Alaric, knowing what he was doing already. "Dad, you can't kill him in this world." Josie stated.

He stayed quiet. "Well, I'm sure as hell gonna try." Alaric stated, raising his arms, going into kill Kai, causing you and Josie to do something he probably wont be very happy about.

So, Alaric didn't cut Kai up because you casted a sleep spell to stop him before he could do anything he might regret. Kai gasped awake, looking the machete dead on. "Oh, I should have seen that coming." He mumbled to himself, groaning as he started getting up. "Okay. First death's free, Ric, but I'm warning you, if you think that I'm..." Kai trailed off, watching as Josie had chained Alaric up to the chair.

Josie lifted herself up, looking at Kai while you made sure the chains were tight but not too tight. "Well, I definitely didn't see this coming." Kai stated, surprised to see Alaric chained up.

You then got up, looking at Kai. "I didn't want him trying to stop us." He commented, checking the chains on his shoulders.

Kai sent you a confused gazed. "Stop you from doing what?" he questioned, actually sounding scared.

"Getting us all out of this hell hole, even if that means partnering up with you out of all people." You replied, answering truthfully. Kai smiled while you and Josie glanced at each other.

You, Kai and Josie were now in the field where the spell was mostly going to be done. "So, we need three things the apex of the celestial event that trapped me here, some Bennett blood, and the duplicate ascendant, which is the first thing I went looking for when those burnouts woke me up." Kai explained.

Josie held onto her backpack. "Did you find it?" She asked.

"No answers for free." Kai replied. "I assume you two come carrying the Bennett blood." Kai continued. Josie looked down as she then came to a stop, you had no idea how Prison Worlds work so you stayed quiet.

Kai turned around, feeling you two weren't following anymore. "Are you- Ho-" He cut himself off, bending over with his hands on his knees, groaning. "How is it possible that you two came to a prison world without the one thing you need to escape it?" Kai questioned, agitation laced in his voice.

"Well, it's not exactly like this trip was planned." Josie scolded back.

"Okay, so then what exactly are you bringing to this partnership? Because from where I stand, I'm the only one of us who is not useless." Kai fired back, taking a step forward.

Josie shrugged. "No answers for free. What's the celestial event?" Josie questioned the older man.

Kai then turned around, continuing to walk. "That I actually don't know, but, uh there's only so many minutes in a day, so I'll figure it out." Kai yelled at the end, raising both his arms

"That's your plan?" You questioned, annoyed. Kai nodded his head, responding with an 'mm-Hmm'. "Process of elimination?"

"I like a challenge." He then came to a stop again, turning around to look at you and Josie. "And to be honest, I've got nothing but time." Kai then started to walk, you about to follow but Josie grabbed your arm, stopping you.

"Could the Sandclock be strong enough to power the ascendant without a celestial event?" Josie questioned, cocking her head to the side.

Kai turned around, thinking for a moment. "Maybe." He stated in a funny voice. "Why? Where is it?" He questioned.

Josie shrugged. "Somewhere in this clearing." Hs responded.

Kai stayed quiet, looking around, confused. "Then why don't I see it?" He questioned again.

"Because I put a spell on it. You wouldn't even know that you were looking at it." Josie explained, lying.

"You know, that that actually happened to me with a teddy bear once." Kai stated, you and Josie not fazed by his Déjà Vu. "Hmm. You, uh, you two really don't trust me, do you?" Kai questioned, stepping forward. He then pulled out the ascendant, the mirror one from his pocket, placing it on the ground. "Consider it a show of good faith." Kai stated, walking backwards from the ascendant.

Josie took of her backpack, opening the zipper and pulling out the Sand Clock, holding it next to her face with a small smug smile. "You were lying." Kai fake gasps, a smile on his like he was impressed. "You're definitely learning." He whispered.

Kai had brought you and Josie to the hospital to get Bennett blood to complete the spell. "Are you sure this is gonna work? Why are we here?" Josie questioned the heretic in from her.

Kai held up a finger. "Oh. Information for information." Kai reminded. "Tell me more about this Malivore pit and those monsters you've been dealing with." Kai then suddenly stopped, looking at you. "And for the record, I never lost faith in Santa being real." He stated, you just sent him a look and he continued walking.

Josie looked over at you. "You can explain this one." She stated.

You let out a small groan but did so anyway. "Basically, Malivore is a pocket dimension, like this one, except you're erased from people's memories." You started explain, both you and Josie catching up. "There's a portal into our world. I closed it due to my blood, but when I returned the monsters kept coming, like the portal reopened or something." You finished explaining.

"Fascinating." Kai commented. "Now, to answer your question, we're here because I spent years studying genealogical records while being hunted and killed for sport." Kai started answering Josies questioned, coming to a stop. "I recently found someone who donated blood under the name Smithfield, which was her married name. Maiden name: Bennett." Kai then faked gasped and pointed to the sign that said 'Blood Storage.'. "Bennett blood. Ta-da!" He exclaimed, but not loudly.

As soon as he opened the door, Josie walked backwards scared while you just stood there, glaring at Jade, questioning how she was alive. kai on the other hand had no clue and turned around, seeing Jade who had blood going down her lip to her chin. "Thank God you're here. I'm still hungry." She snarled, vamping to the door.

Kai was quick to react and raised his hand, closing the door. "I thought you killed her." Josie exclaimed, Kai looking over at you two.

"Yeah, I totally did." Kai agreed. "But they're banished to this world, like me, so they just keep coming back." Kai briefly explained, grunts coming from jade. "We should go." Kai whispered, all three of you leaving.

After turning some corners, Josie was now in front, leading the way. "We need to find my dad before that werewolf wakes up." Josie stated.

Kai scoffed lightly and came to a stop, causing you to turn around at look at him. "Well, then go." He said, Josie coming to a stop but not looking at Kai. "Save Daddy. I'm rooting for you." Kai clasped his hands together, Josie turning around.

"Although you, Kate and your dad aren't bound to this place, so at some point be it today, tomorrow or the next, they'll kill you three." Kai explained. "Sorry, kiddo, the Bennett blood's gone. We're trapped here. Nothing matters." Kai stated, turning around a walking off.

You let out a sigh and looked over at Josie who looked at if she was contemplating on doing something. "What if there was another way to get Bennett blood?" She called out to Kai. "Would you help us then?" She continued.

Kai came to a stop. "Yeah, nice try at manipulation, but I'm not gonna believe anything y-" Kai had turned around but stopped speaking when he saw Josie pull out a vile of blood.

Everyone was quiet. "It's Bonnie's from when we sent the Sandclock here." Josie broke the silence, smirking.

Kai chuckled, walking back. "I knew you were holding out on me." Kai said.

You moved to stand next to Josie, something didn't feel right. Call it gut instinct. "I didn't know if I could trust you." Josie said, obviously not feeling the same thing.

Jus then Jade came vamping and pulled Kai up by the collar, pinning him to the wall. "Okay." He whispered, causing you and Josie to stared between them, Josie more scared than you. "Oh, goodness." Kai faked, he was playing you and Josie.

Both Jade and Kai started laughing, jade lowering Kai. "Oh, perfect timing, baby." Kai pulled Jade in, holding her ass.

Josie started walking backward. "Josie don't!" You called.

"Immobilus." Kai chanted, causing Josie to stop moving in a running position. "Hey, thanks for your help. Your instincts were right." Kai sent, looking over at you. "I heard your heart pick up when I saw Josie holding up the Bennett blood." He then chuckled. "There is no trusting me. So, while you've been playing checkers I've been playing chess." Kai explained.

Jade walked over to Josie, standing behind her while Kai was in front, able to see if you ran away or not. He then grabbed the Bennet Blood vile. "Checkmate." He whispered. "Yeah, I guess I forgot to mention one thing about the whole Hunger Games I'm kinda into it." He stated, getting his machete out from Josie's bag. "Keeps the monotony interesting." He handed the machete to Jade.

You stayed against the wall, just watching.You knew you could do something to stop them but you were afraid you weren't powerful enough to defeat them. "Once they woke me up, they quickly realized my superior leadership qualities. They're kind of like my followers, I guess you could say." He then found the Sand Clock but stopped, looking at the shattered glass.

"You can keep your lousy Sand Clock." He shoved it back into the bag. "I'll be gone before it breaks." He then walked back to be in front of her. "Oh, chin up. You're new at conning people. You'll get better at it." He then became quiet, looking up at Jade. "Take them to Ric. Don't kill them yet. Make her, Kate and Ric suffer." Kai ordered, glancing at you who was just watching silently.

He grabbed Josies cheeks. "I couldn't have done it without you, kid." He the planted a soft kiss on her forehead, walking away.

Jade then started chuckling. "Oh, this is gonna be fun." She stated, walking over to you. "Aren't you a pretty thing?" She questioned before grabbing your head and  smashing it against the wall, knocking you out instantly.
