RECAP
Landon nodded before looking down at the piece of paper and reading it. " 'Landon's patient, trusting, kind, and a thousand other things I never was or possibly could be.' " Landon started. " 'So, if all I ever have is the memory of the way he cared for me, then I will survive being forgotten without becoming the full Tribrid hopefully.' " Landon finished reading.
Hope looked up at Landon and saw his smile. "Yours was a lot less sweeter then mine." Hope explained, joking slightly.
Landon laughed. "Oh really?" He questioned.
Hope nodded. "Mine was more loving than yours." Hope jokingly flicked her hair and walked over to the table that had the books on it, Landon followed. "Alright, let try and figure out a way to get them back." Hope then got serious as both of them started looking through books.

"You lied to me?" Lizzie commented, confused and angry. Since Alaric didn't answer, Lizzie continued. "You told me that Sebastian chose to leave the school." Lizzie explained.
Alaric turned around, a glass of bourbon in his hand. "I said he made his choice. He refused to respect our rules." Alaric explained to his agitated daughter, taking a sip of the bourbon.
"So you sent him here?" Lizzie countered.
Sebastian then cut in. "He had help. There was a witch who did the spell." You, Lizzie and Josie looked behind to look Sebastian who was sitting on the lounge chair. "Dark hair, kind eyes. Amazing accent." Sebastian described.
Realisation struck your features as you realised who he was talking about. "Emma." You stated, the three of you looking at Alaric.
Lizzie glared at her father, not wanting to believe he would do this but being int he prison world with Sebastian says otherwise. "How could you, Dad?" Lizzie scolded her father.
Alaric wasn't fazed by her daughters reaction. "You can yell at me after we arm ourselves." Alaric commented, placing the glass of bourbon down and walking away.
Josie watched her father walk off. "Dad, why do we need weapons so bad?" Josie questioned.
Alaric came to a stop and turned around, looking at you three. "All you need to know is that we're in danger, and we need to find a way out now." Alaric went to walk off again but Sebastian vamped to be in front of him.
He stayed quiet for a little bit before speaking up. "We're in a new world now. Perhaps you are no longer the one in charge." Sebastian stated, smirking.
Alaric then stabbed Sebastian with a wooden stake in the stomach, earning grunts from Sebastian and a gasp from Lizzie. Alaric then let go of the wooden stake and let Sebastian fall to the floor. "To be clear, my daughters, my niece and I are leaving, you are staying behind and yes, I am in charge." Alaric briefly explained to the injured vampire.
Once Alaric left the room, Lizzie ran to Sebastian, whispering, "Oh, my God."
You and Josie glanced at each other before following after Ric. "Dad." Josie called, once entering a room, you both saw Alaric packing a bag full of stakes. "This is about Uncle Kai, isn't it?" Josie questioned.
The was unfamiliar to you. "Who is 'Uncle Kai'?" You repeated, unsure of who that was. You could only assume it was someone you were relate to due to Josie calling him 'uncle'.
"That's why you're so worried?" Josie continued, ignoring your comment. You threw your hands in the air once Josie's continued speaking. "I know this has to be hard for you, but you said he was desiccated." Josie explained.
Your eyes widened a little bit. " 'Desiccated'?" You repeated again. Was this man a vampire?.
You were ignored once again. "You don't know what he's capable of." Alaric said, turning to face his daughter and niece. And until I'm positive no one's set him free, I'm not taking any chances." Alaric stated fast.
"Dad, who could have set him free?" Josie questioned, getting to the point.
Alaric grabbed the crossbow from under the table and looked up at his daughter. "I'll explain all that later. Right now, I need you two to go to the meadow and get the Sandclock before anyone else finds it." Alaric explained, walking to the book shelf and throwing books off of it so he could grab a knife. "Then I need you both to come back here and hide." Alaric explained, coming back to you and Josie. "And stay hidden." He ordered.
Alaric handed his daughter the knife, Josie reluctantly taking it. "Dad, this is all my fault." Josie said before he could walk away. Both you and Josie turned to look at the man. "If I hadn't done black magic in the first place, we'd have never been in this mess."
Alaric stayed quiet before responding. "We all make mistakes." Alaric stated.
"Ric, wait." You called out.
He turned back around for the millionth time and looked at you. "Can you tell me who this guy is?" You questioned, desperate to know.
Alaric let out a sigh. "He's your uncle, as Josie said before." Alaric started. "But he's a psychotic freak who murdered his whole family and the Gemini Coven just for power. He's a siphoner, like the twins but he died with Vampire blood in his system, making him a heretic." Alaric continued explains.
Your eyes widened at the fact he was a murderer but then your eyebrows furrowed at the mention of 'heretic'. "Heretic? What's that?" You questioned, never hearing of that supernatural before since your time at the school.
"It's a witch-vampire, but since he's a siphoner, he can siphon his vampire side, meaning he's got an unlimited magic resource but also the hunger for blood. Making him a lot more dangerous." Alaric explained afterwards.
Sounds like he a lunatic in your opinion. Taking your silence as you understood, Alaric then walked off, leaving you and Josie. Both of you looked at each other before leaving to go search for the Sand Clock.
ââââ
You and Josie returned with the Sand Clock, Josie had brought a backpack to store it in instead of carrying it. Once entered the Salvatore School, Josie called out, "Lizzie? Sebastian?" You both walked further into the room. "Where are you guys?" She questioned, not as loud anymore.
A girl then appeared behind you and Lizzie. "Quick question." She said, causing you and Josie to jump and looked back at her. "Who the hell are you two?" She questioned, resting her hands on her hips.
Josie then realised who this girl was, causing you to look between the two. "Jade?" Josie questioned, amazed, like she hasn't seen the girl in forever.
The girl in front of you two then smirked. "Little Josie Saltzman all grown up. I'll be damned." She chuckled softly. "Is Lizzie here, too?" She questioned.
"Uh, no." Josie responded.
Jade then looked over at you, causing you to lock eyes with her. "And who are you?" She questioned.
You glanced at Josie before back at Jade. "Kate. Kate Lockwood." You responded, fiddling with your hands. "I'm Josie and Lizzies cousins." You stated.
Jade nodded as the room fell silent. "Jade, what are you doing here?" Josie questioned, confused still.
"If it's okay with you, can we have this conversation after I eat?" Jade questioned, walking down the steps, causing you and Josie to walk backwards, scared. "Because I'm starving, and you two look delicious." She said, black veins appearing under her eyes.
She was about to pounce when a stake suddenly went through her heart, causing her to grunt. You and Josie jumped at the sudden action before watching her body fall to the ground and guy looking at her. he then looked up at the two of you. "Come with me if you want to live." He said. In your opinion he sounded nice.
ââââ
"Welcome!" He said as he brought you and Josie to the Old Mill. "I call it Fort Parker. It's a it's a bit moldy but also rent-controlled, so I try not to complain." He stated. You silently questioned why he called it 'Fort Parker' but stayed silent.
He then walked over to the shelf and grabbed a bottle of alcohol. "Flavoured vodka?" He questioned. "It's, uh," He laughed. "It's no Zima, but then again, nothing is." He continued.
He threw something a Josie to which she caught while he continued with the alcohol. "You're Kai Parker." Josie said. Your eyes widened as you realised you had thought to yourself this man was nice, obviously not knowing he was Kai.
Kai faked gasped, turning around as he walked further away. "I am. And you are one of the Saltzman twins. You, I don't know you. I can smell the Gemini on you both though." Kai rambled, turning around to throw something on a home made couch. "The real question is: are you Linda or, or Joanie?" He questioned, taking off his backpack. He then laughed. "I can never tell you two apart."
"I'm Josie. Named after my mom, who you killed." Josie stated.
You glanced at Josie, taking this as your time to introduce yourself. "I'm Kate. My mom was Liv, who I've been told was murdered by you as well." You commented, a little bit of anger in your voice.
"Okay, here we go. Look, technically, I was trying to kill you and your sister. And I stabbed myself in the neck and I just so happened to be leader of the Gemini Coven, which I still am, and your mother was connected to me as well as the rest of the Coven, causing them to die as well." Kai explained rather quickly like death was nothing to him.
"Uh, but that's all over now, so I say we just move on." He stated, chuckling like it was no big deal and crouched down to do something, back facing toward you and Josie.
You and Josie were getting angry with the way he was speaking about your moms. "Move on?" You both questioned.
"You're a monster!" Josie exclaimed afterwards.
Kai stopped what he was doing at the couch. "A monster would have let you die." Kai stated, turning his head to look behind him. "That vampire who tried to turn you into her own personal Capri Sun? She's the real monster. She and her cronies run this world. They revived me from desiccation just so they could have a little plaything." He explained, getting up and facing you two again.
"Every day, like clockwork, they hunt me down and kill me." He popped the lid on a bottle and poured it into something else. "But since I'm magically bound to this world," He then dropped the empty bottle on the floor, entering a little sound to come from it. "I can't actually die." He stated.
"No way, really?" You questioned, sarcasm dropping with every word.
Kai sent you a look, causing you to shut up and for him to continue. "So I pop back up only to be hunted and killed all over again every day. Welcome to the Supernatural Hunger Games." He then tilted his head back, letting the alcohol go into his mouth.
Josie decided to change topics. "That girl used to go to my school. Why is she here?" Josie questioned.
Kai imitates a buzzer. "No answers for free." He then threw the bottle to the floor, causing it to shatter. "Information for information." He said, sitting down on his couch.
"What are you two doing here?" He questioned. Obviously he had to ask first.
Josie stayed quiet, gripping the backpack strap. "I, um I used a Mora Miserium." Josie replied hesitantly.
"Sandclock? Oh, don't tell me. It degraded, and you just decided to drop it over here without a thought for my safety." Kai accused. Well he wasn't wrong, but he is full of himself.
Josie slightly rolled her eyes. "We tried to create a new prison world thingy, but a bitch-witch tricked us, and we got pulled into this old one instead." You cut in, explaining what really happened.
Kai faked gasped. "Classic double cross. And, uh who's 'we'?" Kai questioned.
You held up a finger, shutting him up. "We answered your question. Now you have to answer hers." You stated.
"Why is Jade here?" Josie questioned.
Kai stayed quiet for a little bit. "Yeah. I'm not the one you should be asking." Kai stated.
You let out a sigh. "Okay, then why am I here?" You questioned.
Kai looked up at you. "So you can spend some dear time with your Uncle you've heard so much bad stuff about." Kai stated, smiling fondly, earning you and Josie to just stare at him.
