RECAP
Hope was still extremely confused but listened to you and walked down the steps, grabbing your hand and was now standing in front of you. "Okay, now what?" She asked.
"Look up." You said, letting go of her hand.
Once she did, she saw the mistletoe and a big smiled formed on her face as she knew what that meant. You took this as an opportunity to lean in and kiss her, which you did.
She placed a hand on your cheek and one around your neck, you placed your arms around her torso. The both of you being actual normal teenagers, or the closest thing to them.
ââââ
You carried a box of your stuff up the stairs to go to your old room before you sacrificed yourself, completely forgetting Hope wasn't in that room now and Alyssa Chang took over it. 'Starting over. In theory, it's simple. You put the past behind you, take what you learned and begin again.' Students watched and looked at you as you walked yo your old room.
To see it was awkward was an understatement, it was weird getting all these looks. Josie and MG weren't walking together but happened to be in front of you but ignored you, why? 'But it's not as easy as it sounds. Moving on means letting things go. Things that are familiar, easy, safe. Things that matter. Someone once said 'you can't go home again.' I hope like hell they were wrong.'
You then walked into your old room to see ninety-nine percent of it was taken over by someone's stuff. Just then, Alyssa revealed herself as she moved from behind a student standing up closet thing. Whatever it is, it was ugly.
Now you remembered that Hope told you Alyssa moved into your room. "Oh. It's just you." Alyssa said with distase as if you were wrong or something.
You were so ready to say something mean after that comment but you surprised yourself and didn't. "Alyssa," You coughed, trying your hardest. "what's all this?" You stated, acting as if you didn't know why she moved in.
"I moved in while you were forgotten or whatever. Your side's over there." She stated, looking and pointing at the unmade bed.
You literally bit your tongue to stop your comebacks. "I usually have a single, meaning my single is with Hope, we shared this room." You responded, annoyance laced in your voice.
Alyssa looked back at you. "Which is what I had until this exact moment." She responded, taking in a breathe. "I go to bed at ten, so no late-night visitors. And I don't want ants, so no eating in the room." Alyssa told 'rules' you had to follow, which you weren't going too.
She then grabbed her perfume and sprayed it like five times as she walked to the door. "Later, roomie." She stated, acting as if nothing was wrong.
That perfume was so strong that it caused you to cough from the smell, due to her walking past and you getting a whole whiff of it. Let's just say it smelled like shit. You glared at her before back to looking at your side of the room, which wasn't much at all, causing you to scoff.
You just placed your box on your bed and grabbed your schedule for the day. You stood in front of Ric's office, although you weren't paying attention as you couldn't find you class.
The doors behind you opened, revealing Alaric which caused you to look back at him. "You're late for class. Or are you lost?" He stated and questioned.
Alaric came to a. Stop in front of you. "Uh, both." You placed your hands in your jacket pockets. "Apparently, everything changed when I was gone." You stated. "Where's spell lab?" You questioned, extremely confused.
Alaric shrugged. "No idea." He stated, you looking around. "I'm a little out of the loop myself." Alaric shoved his hand in his pant packets and chuckled. You both started walking. "I just like to stride confidently and, uh, nod in hopes that people don't figure that out." You glanced up at him before back down to your schedule, in hopes that would help you. "But speaking of being out of the loop, Lizzie and Josie are avoiding me."
Alaric then looked at you, causing you to look up from your schedule and stared at him. You chuckled before becoming serious. "I wouldn't know. I fell like things are still awkward between me and Josie. I mean, I thought they were okay." You took in a sharp breathe and quickly released it. "It's just bad again."
Both of you came to a stop again. "Yeah, well, knowing you and Landon are brother and sister after getting our memories back and thinking for a long time that he had a crush on you and seeing it are two very different things." Alaric stated to you.
You let out a groan as you and Landon made up, what doesn't make sense is why he would break up with Josie since it'd be weird if you and Landon dated anyway. Even just thinking about you and him dating makes you want to vomit. "I just wish there was something I could do." You softly responded.
"You just have to give her some time, you know?" Alaric took in a deep breathe. "Things will go back to normal soon enough." You let out a scoff but had a smile. "I hope." He immediately said afterwards.
You nodded. "Yeah." You said.
Alaric then looked up and read a sign. "Spell lab!" Alaric said.
You glanced up and the sign. "Oh!" You exclaimed and walked into the class, leaving Ric by himself.
Everyone looked at you as you entered, causing you to look down and go to the very back table that has no one on it to be alone since no one you liked or knew was in this class.
Once the class was done you were the first one out and after turning a few corners you pumped into Hope. "Oh, thank god." You wrapped her in a hug to which she stayed completely still as she was confused.
She then wrapped her arms around you, laughing a little. "Good morning to you too." Hope said jokingly. You both got out of the hug, she then assessed your face and saw that you weren't that happy. "What's wrong?" She asked.
You let out a sigh. "I forgot I have to share a room with Alyssa now, Josie hates me for no reason, everything has been swapped around so I got lost and was late for class, and I had my first class being back here and I have no one in 'Spell Lab' class." You rambled while Hope just listened. "They were looking at me as if a I were ghost who was brought back from the dead." You continued.
Hope cupped your face with both her hands. "Okay, okay. All right." She placed her forehead on your forehead. "You'll be okay, after we both finish our classes today, you can spend the night in my room. It has no one in it since I asked for my own room." Hope explained.
You nodded your head and moved backwards so you weren't touching foreheads and could look into her eyes. "Yeah. I'd like that." You said, smiling.
Hope then smiled because of your smile. "I got to run to class but I'll see you later at lunch?" She questioned while you nodded your head again.
Both of you left in opposite directions, Hope going to her class while you turned a corner and saw Landon, Josie and some weird looking guy. You and Josie made eye contact which made her walk away immediately to which you let out a sigh. "Is this what they call 'teen drama'?" The weird guy questioned.
Landon looked up at him. "Shut up." He said and turned around, seeing you. "Hey." Landon said, a small smile on his face.
"Hey." You said as you both went in for a hug.
"How's it... uh, hi." Landon mumbled but didn't form a sentence.
The both of you left the hug, you looked at Josie walking away before looking him in the eyes. "Josie didn't leave because of me, right?" You questioned.
Landon watched your eyesight before looking down at you. "I hope not." He stated. "Um, you're all moved in?" He asked you.
You grabbed the straps of your bag for no reason at all, you just felt the need too. "Yeah. Um, Alyssa Chang generously gave me back twenty percent of my room, well, mine and Hopes room." You replied. "Plenty of space for the nine things I still own." You stated before looking over at the weird guy. "What's going on?" You asked.
Landon glanced at the weird guy. "Uh, Dr. Saltzman is having me test Sebastian here to see if he can stay at the school." Landon explained.
A wave of realisation struck your features. "Oh, hallucination boyfriend?" You questioned but stated at the same time. Landon nodded. "Call if you need backup?" You questioned him.
Sebastian gave you a weird look when you said 'hallucination boyfriend' but brushed it off. "I can assure you, I will be on my best behaviour." He stated, you sent him a fake smile. "Even a sidekick can handle me." He continued, you were confused by what he meant but didn't question it.
ââââ
Sebastian and Landon walked into the gym where all the werewolves were playing a werewolf game. the game towards the two so Landon stopped it with his feet, picking it up, grunting as he does so with how heavy it is. "Hey. Have you heard from Raf?" Jed asked Landon.
"Uh, he's staying with his dad for a bit. I think it'll be good for him." Landon replied.
Jed nodded his head up and down before looking over at Sebastian. "Tell, uh, Captain Cheekbones he's got a weird staring problem." Jed stated before walking back to the back.
Landon looked at Sebastian to see him almost glaring before Jed laughed dryly. "It's okay. Lots of vampires can't be around one werewolf, let alone this many. Most vampires can't control their emotions." Landon started explaining. "Downside of all the power, I guess." Landon concluded.
Sebastian looked at the pack, almost as if he was examining them. "I think having no power would be far more concerning." He replied, Landon let out a soft sigh as he knew Sebastian meant him. "You know, a little blonde birdie told me that Clarke almost killed Kate. She was powerless and running for her life, and you were-you were... you were searching for yourself?" He questioned, looking at Landon.
Landon didn't bother to stare at the five hundred year old vampire. "I was trying to keep everyone safe." He responded with a unlikable tone towards the vampire.
"And did it work?" He asked, being cocky. He didn't get a response though. "Mm. Not that you could have done anything anyway, of course, but if I had a sister that I loved was in danger, I would want to be able to protect her." He continued to be cocky and mean to Landon.
Landon finally looked over at Sebastian, looking at his side profile. He then shoved the playing ball into his stomach. "He'll play." Landon said to the werewolf pack, mainly to Jed.
