RECAP

It's not like you guys need to hear that. He then raised the spoon into his mouth and started slurping it. And you didn't need to hear that. A shiver ran down your spine as that was disgusting. "Oh." Kaleb smacked his lips together. "Hell yeah." He looked up at Hope. "You sure you don't want to hit this?" Kaleb asked Hope first.

Hope shook her head, looking down. "Uh, no. I'm good." She glanced at Kaleb before back to the books she was reading.

Kaleb then looked over at you, you already looking at him. "If I started hitting stuff now, I might never stop." You immediately said, keeping a straight face surprisingly. If you said that to like Hope or Landon you would've bursted out into laughter.

You then looked over at Hope, Kaleb shaking his head and continuing to slurp the batter. "There's got to be someone around here who's as miserable as we are." You stated to Hope.

You know when you watch a cartoon and a light bulb appears over someone's head after an idea and their eyes have a fake glisten in them? Yeah, that was you right now. Hope wasn't a mind reader so she gave you a weird look and before she could ask, you got up and left to go find the person you were searching for.

————

Hope followed you into the transitional cellar, asking you questions as to what your plans were down there but you didn't answer as you thought you might loose your train of thinking.

As reached to the place you wanted to get to, you opened the door and walked in, Clarke turning around. "This is an unpleasant surprise." Clarke said to you and Hope, but mainly to you.

You shrugged your shoulders. "Feel the same way to you." You responded.

Hope grabbed your arm and pulled you back a little to whisper to you. "He's your plan?" Hope questioned.

You looked between her eyes. "Between him and Lizzie who's on a road trip, who else are we gonna have to help us?" You pointed out. Hope let go of your arm, knowing you had no help so she allowed you to go on with your plan. "You're miserable, and we need your help." You bluntly said to Clarke.

He let out a scoff and it seemed as if he started acting different all of a sudden. "No." Clarke responded to the miserable bit. You and Hope knew he was lying as he wanted to seem tough. His demeanour changed back to normal after acting different. "You're right. I am miserable." Clarke said, turning around and walking away from the bars and from you and Hope. "So why would I help you?" He questioned.

You and Hope watched him. Shifting your weight onto your other leg you decided to explain. "Believe me, I wish that there was another option, but you're the only one around here that's not eating figgy pudding." After stating that, you all became quiet.

Looking over at Hope, she made eye contact with you, unsure of what to hear from Clarke. "On the bright side, me being miserable must be why I'm immune to the Christmas spirit. What's your excuse, Hope?" Clarke questioned, starting with Hope.

Hope let out a sigh and broke eye contact with you. "I used to love the holidays. But... I lost a lot of my family, and everything changed." Hope explained.

Clarke nodded. "Kate?" He questioned.

You looked at Clarkes back before looking down. "I never had my family to celebrate Christmas with after they died." You started. "I mean... yeah, I did Christmas with my foster parents, Raf, and Landon but that was never enough to replace my real parents." A few tears came to your eyes. Hope placed a comforting hand on your shoulder.

You then let out a scoff as you thought about everyone at the school but to also stop the tears. "Everyone running around here all thankful for what they have..." You trailed off, wanting to take a breathe before you continued.

"You realise what you're missing." Clarke finished your sentence. You and Hope immediately looked up when Clarke said that. Clarke looked back at you guys before looking away. "What?" He questioned, a bit startled by your staring. He then turned around. "If anyone can relate to being alone, it's me. I've never even had a Christmas." Clarke sadly said.

Hope did seem a bit sad for him, and if you're being honest, you did too. You felt like saying 'Wow, that's sad' but didn't as it wasn't appropriate, maybe later. Clarkes face went to one of realisation. "That's it. You two want my help figuring out your monster? Let me... eat, drink and be merry for one in my life." Clarke explained.

Clarke being merry? That's a sight you thought you'd never see, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea. "Go out with a bang." He stated, whatever that means. "Now," He cleared his throat. "should old acquaintance be forgot?" He questioned you with a smirk as he was only looking at you now.

You let out a sigh and unlocked his cell, allowing him to be free. "Come on, let's get you merry-ed up." You stated, walking out as Clarke followed you and Hope keeping an eye on him from the back.

All of you were now in the main area, you and Hope standing body guard as you needed to keep and eye on Clarke. "All right, pass those ribbons around. Everybody write down your Christmas wish on them. Don't let anyone see it. Then when you're done, I want you to toss your ribbon into the fire." Dorian explained, handing ribbons to Pedro and another kid. "There you go."

Kaleb then came in. "Whoops!" He stole the ribbon from Dorians grasp. "My bad, Pedro. Me and Santa got some unfinished business." Kaleb stated.

Dorian smiled, not angry with him while he looked back at Pedro. "More where that came from." He handed Pedro another ribbon.

Pedro walked off and towards Josie who was writing her with. "What's your wish, Jo?" He questioned.

Josie then finished writing and looked up at Pedro. "Well, if I tell you that, it won't come true, remember?" Josie reminded the young witch, handing him the sharpie to write his wish.

Josie then grabbed her wish, read it and walked to the fire, throwing it in. You were a bit grossed out with how fast Clarke was eating as it was like he had never seen food before. "Wow, you really are the son of a bottomless pit." Hope commented.

Clarke didn't answer, instead Dorian handed him a ribbon and he grabbed it. "Thanks." He said, his mouth full of food. "Here." He then handed his plate of food to a student like it was his servant. "Can you turn?" He turned around and looked at you.

But before you could answer he roughly grabbed your shoulders and turned your around, earning a grunt from you and an annoyed look. Hope wasn't very happy with the way he handled you but you gave her a look of it's okay. "Quit stalling. Tell me what we're looking for before we run out of goodwill towards mud men and there are unpleasant consequences." You stated.

You felt him writing something on the ribbon but unsure what. "Mm." Was his response. "My best guess? The Krampus." He said, he then lifted his pen off your back and took the ribbon, you turning around to face him.

Both you and Hope gave him a confused looked. "What the hell is a Krampus?" You questioned.

Clarke then started walking towards the fire, you and Hope following. "Well, it's the monster that brought all this snow and ice to town. And think of it as the anti-Santa." He started explaining. "Santa Claus rewards good boys and girls, right? Well, the Krampus does the opposite. It seeks out hatred and anger instead of peace and joy, so.." He trailed off.

You looked over at Hope and she looked at you before back to Clarke. "We're literally surrounded by peace and joy." Hope stated to the stupid man.

Clarke didn't say anything as he scrunched up his paper and threw it into the fire. "Not for long." He turned around, smiling.

It was a terrible idea to let him out of the cell as he had a smirk of something bad going to happen and he walked past you and Hope. "What did you just do?" You questioned.

Clarke turned around before he got to far away from you and Hope. "You should be proud of me, Kate. And Hope." He stated. Proud? Is he serious? "I took a page out of your playbook." He paused, expecting you and Hope to know. "I found another loophole." He finished, smiling then turning around and walking off.

You walked up to him and grabbed him by the arm, dragging him to the Memorial Library, Hope following. After pushing him inside and watching him almost fall to the ground, Hope casted a spell. "Cloustrum." She raised her hand and shut her fist as the spell was created.

The door behind you two slammed shut and she lowered her hand and glared at Clarke. "You're spelled inside this room. Now, what exactly did you wish for?" Hope interrogated Clarke, walking right up to him,.

Clarke seemed fine with being spelled inside a room. "You'll both find out soon enough." Clarke stated, then looking at you. "Because as you can attest, I've been a very bad boy this year." He stated.

It was cut short as you raised your hand, causing him to choke. Clarke grabbed his throat as he couldn't breathe. He then looked back up at you. "Unpleasant consequences, remember?" You reminded him, keeping your hand in a fist. "Now, what did you wish-" You didn't get to finish.

"A saviour!" Clarke blurted out from being choked.

You released your hand, Clarke gasping for breathe from the air flowing back into his lungs. "You want to protect Landon, right? Well, don't worry. The Krampus is coming to rescue me instead of going after him. And it'll kill anyone dumb enough to get in its way." Clarke explained.

Hope decided to speak up. "Not if we're ready for it." Hope commented.

Clarke slightly snorted. "By 'we,' do you mean the school full of idiot kids drunk on Christmas cheer? Or the grown men running around actually drunk, believing that Santa Claus is real?" He questioned the two of you, laughing as he got real close to both your faces. "Good luck dampening their spirits and getting them to listen to you." Clarke stated.

"You leave that to us." You said through gritted teeth. Then turning around and walking out of the room, Hope close behind.

As you both left the room Clarke was magically sealed in, you both went straight to the area with everyone in it. Chatter, laughter and songs filled the room as you both entered. "Can I have everyone's attention?" Hope questioned but not loud enough as no one listen. "I need everyone's attention!" Hope ordered this time.

The chatter stops and the music player also comes to stop. Everyone looking over at you and Hope. You and Hope walked down the stairs, Hope cleared her throat before continuing. "I have bad news. A Krampus is headed our way." She told everyone.

A boy coughed after she said that, it being awkward. No one thought she was being serious so Kaleb turned the music back on and laughter plus cheering filled the room once again.

You were getting fed up with everyone's happy mood so you decided to take over. "Inconcido." You chanted, raising your hand towards the music player, sparks erupting and the music stopping.

You then raised your other hand and popped almost all the lights on the Christmas tree, causing them to turn off. After doing that, you turned to the food and violently raised your arm up again, the food exploding.

Lowering your hand, you then looked around the room, earning scared and hurtful looks. You hated being seen as the bad guy but it was the only way to get their attention.

You then looked around the room, seeing all their faces, even Hopes extremely worried look. "All right! Didn't want to deploy the nuclear option, but Santa's not real. He's a myth. And you're all acting like a bunch of children." You crossed your arms over your chest. "So, let's just put the partridge back in the pear tree and grow the hell up." You stated, smiling slightly.

Once turning around, you saw Pedros sad face and watched as he ran off, sad Santa isn't real. You then let out a breathe as your smile dropped. You and Hope then looked over at Alaric who was stuttering. "She's right. I... This was all too good to be true. I..." Alaric shoved his hot cocoa into Dorians chest, to which Dorian grabbed.

"I, uh, I don't know what came over us." Alaric then walked forward towards you and Hope, starting to take off his Christmas jumper. "All right, you all heard her. Dorian, hit the books, figure out how the Krampus operates. Josie, Kaleb, we need to set a trap for this thing. Everyone else, get the kids to bed and gather weapons. And someone bring me a crossbow." Alaric ordered everyone. Finally they were listening.

————

You and Hope were hiding behind a chair or something and watched as Clarke took off his jacket as he entered the room, placing his suit jacket over the fire. Black dust or smoke then appeared that turned into a Krampus. "Merry Christmas, Krampus!" Clarke happily said, obviously hopping he would actually be saved.

The Krampus snarled at Clarke, watching him. "I believe you have something for me?" Clarke questioned. The Krampus waited a few seconds before placing his bag on the floor to reach in and grab something. he then pulled out a very curved knife, so you have no idea what it even is.

Clarkes face went from excited to confused as he tilted his head in a questioning manner towards the Malivore Monster. "No, that-that's not what I asked for. I wanted another trident." Clarke stated.

The creature snarled at Clarke before going in for a attack and slicing Clarkes arm open. Clarke grunted, obviously in pain. "What the hell are you doing? You were supposed to save me." Clarke stated, moving to stand up normally.

You were quite enjoying this. "I say we let him sort it out." You whispered to Hope.

She knew exactly what you meant and side glanced you. "No, we are not doing that." Hope then stopped herself from speaking. "Wait, why are our roles switched up? I'm bad cop, you're good cop usually." Hope questioned and stated.

You looked at her side profile before back to Clarke. "I don't know." You stated.

The Krampus then licked the sword, knife thing to basically drink Clarkes blood. You and Hope help back a disgusted sound while Clarke stood there confused. The Krampus then dropped the knife and opened it's mouth, wrapping it's very very long tongue around Clarkes neck, chocking him.

As much as you hate him and how much you've changed, the one thing that hasn't was how you care about the good and bad guys. Clarke was now on his knees as he gasped for air.

You opened your hand and the knife like thing flew towards you, allowing you to hold it. Hope watched you as you stood up and threw the knife at the tongue, cutting it in half.

Clarke fell backwards, gasping for air and fell to the floor with a grunt where the Krampus whined in pain. Hope then stood up next to you. Clarke coughing in the background to regain air in his lungs.

The Krampus faced your way. You looked over at Hope before over to Clarke to see him unwrapping the tongue around his neck. "I'm guessing you're the Krampus." You stated. "Hope, you know more spells than me so now would be a good time to use that to our advantage." You whispered to her to which you earned a nod.

The monster screeched at you and Hope, upset about it's tongue. "Mittent." Hope chanted, raising her hand and pushing it to the wall which caused it to fly her actions, only for it to crash into the wall which would hurt, or so you hoped.

The both of you then walked down. "I'm Kate, this is Hope." You pointed at yourself before to Hope. The Krampus roared at you both as it got off of the ground. "And we find the holidays really stressful." You stated.

Foot steps were heard which caused the Krampus to take it's attention off of you and Hope. It was Clarke running towards the knife thing and taking it out of the seat it was thrown into by you.

The Krampus was easily out numbered and it knew that so it grabbed it's bag for some reason. It then raised a finger to it's mouth as if to stay quiet or something but then turned into smoke and disappeared into the fire placed. "Damn it." Hope exclaimed, obviously upset it got away.

You then looked front eh fireplace and to Clarke, you figured it was his fault the Krampus left because Clarke moved from the ground. "That thing could be anywhere." You softly stated as you glared at Clarke before following Hope up the stairs.

"Wait!" Clarke called, causing you both to turn around. "I thought my father was bringing the Krampus to save me. But I was wrong." Clarke started to explain, letting out a sigh. "He must have known I was planning to jump into a new body and screw him over again." Clarke stated.

Hope was confused on how Malivore would know that. "How?" She questioned.

Clarke was quick to respond. "Well, I don't know." He faked a smile before it dropped. "But if you let me go, I can make it to the portal before the Krampus kills me." Clarke pleaded.

You rolled your eyes. "Nice try, but 'fool me once' and all." You crossed your arms over your chest, amused by his will to live.

Clarke really didn't want to die by the seems of it. "What if there was a way that I could prove to you that I'm on your side?" Hope looked over at you, earning you to glance at her before back to Clarke. "That I'm telling the truth." Clarke said, holding out the knife for you or Hope to take.

————

Everyone in the school was hidden behind a wall or chair so the Krampus could come back and be defeated. Once it came back through the fireplace, Josie and Kaleb stuck their heads out.

The Krampus was now back in physical form so Josie took this as an opportunity to really start the plan. "Illustrant." Josie chanted in a whisper, siphoning the wall to do the spell.

Once the spell was casted the music and light came back on, earning a hiss and screech from the Krampus. Everyone then walked out  and corned the Krampus, which was kinda stupid because he could just escape again.

Everyone was either holding a weapon or ready to fight fist-to-fist. The Krampus roared at everyone, only for Kaleb to vamp speed to lights that weren't set up and wrap it around the Krampus to stop his movements.

Alaric then took his shot and shot the crossbow arrow into the Krampus' heart, it falling to the floor with a thud. "Straight in the heart. That's how you kill a Krampus." Dorian stated. You and Hope pushed through the crowd and saw the Krampus laying there. "Anyone want some cocoa?" He questioned.

ALaric looked over at Dorian. "Yeah, sure, why not? It's Christmas." Alaric responded, chuckling, taking the cocoa.

Once Alaric said that it didn't take long for you and Hope to realise this wasn't over. "Wait, you two are still merry." You stated in a low voice as you looked over at them.

Hope decided to cut in. "If it's dead, then why hasn't this lunacy stopped?" The question lingered in the air, no one daring to break the silence.

Alaric stopped lifting the mug to his mouth and handed it to Dorian, moving towards the Krampus' bag. Everyone in the room watched as the bag moved, grunts heard inside. It seemed as if someone was in there. "Everyone stay back. Whatever's in that thing is coming out." Hope stated to everyone.

You all watched intently as hands appeared first until a fat guy in red pants and a white shirt appeared out of the bag. "Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho!" Santa chanted. "Who wouldn't be merry on this special night?" Santa questioned, smiling.

Students murmured at the sight of Santa. You were especially shocked as you said to everyone before that Santa isn't real and is a myth. "Hо! Hо! Ho! Hо! Hо! Hо! Ho! It's the magic of Christmas, Miss Lockwood and Miss Mikaelson. It's the most wonderful time of the year." Santa explained briefly.

You and Hope made eye contact, confused and amazed Santa was real. "Santa? I can't believe you're real." You stated as you looked away from hope and to Santa.

Santa chuckled lightly. "Well, of course you can! You see, my dear Kate, belief is what makes things real." He stated to you.

Hope grabbed your hand and interlaced them, you obviously enjoying the warmth her touch gave you. "Uh..." Alaric trailed off.

Santa moved his eyesight towards Alaric. "Yes?" He asked Alaric.

"How did you know her name?" He questioned Santa.
