RECAP

You were to weak to push yourself off the bed so you fell back down. "No, hey. You have just enough blood in your veins to breathe." Alaric stated, a worried tone in his voice. "Lie here and heal, while I go and patrol the school. I'll be right back." He stated, walking off, grabbing the door and shutting it.

You let out a large sigh as you didn't want to lie here. There was nothing in here to keep you entertained so you just looked around the room, landing on Landons guitar, then to his posters. "Oh, hey." The familiar voice of Clarke spoke.

You looked in front of you and saw him become visible. "Miss me?" He questioned while you just looked at him, surprised he is alive and here. He had a giant smirk on his face, the smirk where he's ready to kill.

————

Lifting yourself up, you moved to be in a comfortable position. "Clarke? How did you get in here?" You questioned the guy you hoped to never see again.

Clarke lifted his left arm up, showing a large, fancy red ring on his finger. "My trusty ring." He then lowered his hand. "Creates illusions. I thought I'd camp out while your friends emptied out the school." He then started moving closer to you.

Out of instinct from your training you started lifting your hands. "Fluctus Inpulsa." You chanted but the spell didn't carry through as Clarke wrapped chains around your wrists, chains that stop witches from using their magic.

You looked at them. "Surprise." He then let go of your wrists and walked backwards, letting you examine the chains. "I found these in the school armoury. Spelled shackles that neutralize a witch's power. Yet another of Ric's failsafes against supernaturals." Clarke explained.

You already knew so you let him go on just to let him feel smart. You lowered your arms as they were heavy and your were weak, rolling your eyes in the process. He then grabbed a chair with wheels and moved it to sit next to you.

Letting out a sigh, you watched him move to sit down. "Yeah, please, go ahead, make yourself comfortable. And while you're at it, tell me what the hell you're doing here." You sarcastically said to the person you probably hate the most, as of this moment.

Clarke looked between your eyes, only seeing hatred and annoyance. "I swore to my father I would come back and take you out, but my dad screwed me over yet again." Clarke explained.

You brought your hands together, crossing them in your lap. "How did he do that? Hmm? He seems like such a lovely supernatural mastermind." You continued with the sarcasm.

Clarke laughed but it was held back as really only a grunt came out. "My form started to break down. He put a ticking clock on me in order to control me. I had to consume people and monsters to stay stable." He started explaining. "Well, it didn't work. I burned through my monster food supply and I was still unstable." Clark started ripping the flesh off his skin, leaving mud parts where the tear was.

Your breathe hitched slightly as that was not a pretty sight. "Once a mud man, always a mud man." You were grossed out as you looked at his face. "But not anymore. I have a new solution." He stopped for a brief moment. "You." Was all he said. Why would he need you? "Why kill you when I can become a powerful Tribrid and stand up to my father once and for all?" Clarke questioned.

Letting out a scoff, you rolled your eyes at his questioned. "Ah, everybody wants to be a Tribrid until they actually have to be a Tribrid." You stated. Just then, Clarke pulled out a sword looking thing, only it had three pointy parts. "What is that?" You asked, generally curious as to why he brought whatever it is out now.

"Mm, a little weapon your frenemy-cousin, Josie, helped create today." You looked Clarke up and down as he said that, watching as you cut his hand, purple currents around the pointy bits. "Now my consciousness will transfer into the next person I cut." He then stood up, pointing the weapon at you.

You watched as Clarke lowered the weapon towards your arm, then looking into his eyes. "Hmm." Clarke then lowered his face so it was closer to yours, not breaking eye contact. "I know I shouldn't gloat, but you screwed me over. And now I get payback. I'm going to enjoy this." He stated.

You grabbed his hand holding him down, watching as he held the weapon above his head before going to stab you. You then moved your left arm to the arm with the weapon, stopping him from cutting you.

You lifted your leg and kicked him in the stomach, meanwhile sneakily grabbing his ring from his left hand that was holding you down. He fell down to the floor, holding the weapon while you created the illusion of you going off the side of the bed and running to the door and opening it to escape. "You literally have no blood. How far do you think you can get?" Clarke angrily said.

Immediately you moved to go under the bed, still using the illusion ring to trick Clarke, so far it's still working.

Meanwhile with illusion you, you were hiding behind a wall. "Kate?" He questioned, the sound of his voice making your heart beat out of your chest. "Kate." Clarke dragged out your name, in a very murderous, villain-y way.

As you heard him get closer, you made your way down the hall way, accidentally hitting something and making a noise. Watching as Clarke moved to where you once were, you bolted from behind him and went somewhere else. You hid in a door way that exposed your arm. "For an all-powerful being..." You then ran out of your hiding spot and stopped at the stair case, turning around. "you're not great at hide and seek." He stated.

He then threw the weapon towards, you watched as it going straight through. You looked up at him, grinning. He seemed happy he caught you but that went away once he realised and saw, you were only an illusion and the weapon was now in the stair case. "Clever girl." Was all Clarke said.

You breathed heavily under the bed, terrified of Clarke for going on a murderous spree. You got up from under the bed and as you did, you felt woozy from not a lot of blood in your system but that didn't stop you from getting to the door and locking it as a safety measure. Leaning on the wall, you let out a few breathes as you did not feel well.

Just then alarge bang from the door jumped you from your position on the wall to across the room. The banging still going on. "Cute little trick." Clarke yelled from the other side of the door. "Now open the door, Kate." He ordered, knocking on the door, braking some of it.

You knew he knew you weren't opening the door so you went to the window, opened it and looked down, seeing how high it was. You caught your breathe as you were not in the state to do this but you glanced back at Clarke before jumping over the edge of the balcony, only to have a rough landing as you fell from your feet to your chest. "Son of a-" Clarke whispered.

Clarke managed to get though and he stormed to the balcony, looking down at you. You grunted as you started getting up. Clarke cut himself off as he wasn't risking jumping off a balcony and starting to go to the front door.

Quickly, getting yourself off the floor, you started running away from the school but didn't get far as you quickly lost your breathe, already exhausted. "Somebody help!" You yelled, resting your hands on you knees before forcing yourself to keep moving. "Somebody help!" You yelled again, panting as you sluggishly walked.

Clarke showed up out of no where and as you turned around, he grabbed your throat, choking you. "Nowhere to go, no one to help you." All Clarke could see in your eyes was fear and he was enjoying your fear.

He raised his hand, ready to stab you with the weapon but someone's hand grabbed his before he could stab you. Clarke turned around and saw Landon. "Hello, brother." He said, punching Clarke in the face.

Landon punched Clarke again which earned you being pushed to the ground so Clarke could get his hand free. "I heard you scream. Are you hurt?" He asked while you lifted your head to look at him, panting.

Letting out some coughs you lowered your head again. "Better now that you're here." You weakly said.

Clarke glared at his brother. "You should have jumped into the pit instead of your little sister." Clarke had put his hand on Landons chest to stop him from walking any further towards you. "Are you guys back to brotherly and sisterly love? The cousin drama, it's so hard to keep up with sometimes." Clarke took his hand off Landons chest.

You lifted your head once again, bring you body into a position which was comfortable enough for you to stay in. "So tired of hearing your voice." You complained.

Clarke took a step forward towards you. "Don't worry. You won't have to hear it much longer." Clarke was then dragged to the floor as Landon attacked him.

Landon was obviously winning, punching and holding Clarke to the floor. Clarke tried getting the weapon, Landons topping him to only earn a punch to the face. Clarke then threw Landon off himself with a kick to the stomach. "I just don't get it." Clarke angrily said to his brother.

Landon let out a heavy grunt. "Get what?" He questioned.

Now Clarke was standing up, over Landon who was catching his breathe. "What our father sees in you." Clarke stated before kicking Landon to the ground. "Sure, you can regenerate, but you have no magic." He kicked Landon again. You were upset you couldn't do anything to help since your ere so weak. "Someone always has to swoop in and save you." Clarke then punched Landon in the face, sending him to the ground once again.

After Clarke did that, he caught his breathe. "You're pathetic." He finished.

Landon wiped his face. "I don't care what you or our father think of me. I only care about her." Landon pointed at you on the ground.

You watched as Clarke started raising his arm up to stab Landon so you quickly got up, feeling adrenaline pump through you as you wrapped your chains around Clarke's arm, bringing home to the ground and punching him in the face with them afterwards.

He then started fighting back. He grabbed your face and aggressively kicked you in the face, sending you stumbling backwards. Clarke then kicked you in the stomach which sent you to the floor once again. "Sorry, Kate. This is family business." Clarke stated.

Landon then kicked Clarke in the knee, knocking him to his knees and that let Landon get him in a headlock. You rolled over so you could be on your back, looking over at them. "Okay, I'm impressed." You coughed out.

Clarke's voice was strained. "Don't be. He'll always be the inferior son." Clarke said, holding onto Landons arms.

Landon looked down at Clarke. "Well, it doesn't look like it from this angle." You started lifting yourself up, sluggishly. "Just do it. You don't need her. You need me. Do it." Landon knew Clarke still had the weapon.

You started catching on and you widened your eyes. "Landon, no!" You yelled.

He looked over at you. "This is for you, Kate." Was all he said.

"No!" You yelled again but Clarke was more than happy to stab Landon.

Landon then became weak and let go of Clarke, allowing Clarke to escape to turn and look at his brother. "Not what I planned, but at least phoenixes are immortal." Landon the moved backwards a little.

Landon grabbed onto his shirt, lowering it to reveal a light. It was SimuLandon. You generally thought Landon had just ha da change of heart, guess you were wrong. "No you die tomorrow." He groaned as he was in pain, he then lifted his shirt up after a while. "Boom. I rule." He raised his arms.

You smile slightly but that dropped as Clarke looked at you. "Oh, come on!" He exclaimed, dropping to the floor unconscious as a light emitted from his body and went into SimuLandons. "Well this just took a turn." Clarke said.

You shut your eyes as you lifted yourself off the floor so you could stand. Lifting your foot, you grunted you as aggressively stepped down onto the chains and broke them, shaking your hands as it did hurt. "You're gonna whammy me, aren't you?" He questioned.

You nodded, panting. "I am." You responded. You lifted your hand onto of your right, earning a circle of light to be formed.

Clarke watched you create the ball of magic. "Remember that I'm already dealing with the trauma of knowing I'm dying." He continued.

You looked up from the ball. "I will." You stated.

"Kind of makes the whole sacrifice a little less of a brother and sister bonding session, though, no?" He questioned. "I mean, where is the real deal? He must be off with your cous-" Before Clarke could finish you hit him with the ball of magic that sent him flying backwards, also becoming unconscious.

You let out a breathe, resting your hands on your knees as you felt extremely weak after that adrenaline rush. Hope then came running around to see Clarke and SimuLandon on the floor, both unconscious and you just out of breathe. "Kate?" hope asked shakily.

Weakly, you looked up at her. "Hope." You said as you sluggishly and tiredly walked over to her and brought her in for a hug. "Can you deal with Clarke inside SimuLandons body?" You questioned. "Leaves Clarke's body, that doesn't really matter."

Hope let go of you and slowly moved back to make sure you wouldn't fall. "I'm sorry, what?" She questioned.

You chuckled lightly. "I'll explain later. Right now, I've got to talk to Josie." You stated.

Hope nodded and let you go to the school. You walked to the twins' room and as you approached it, you knocked, opening the door. "Uh, hi. Can I talk to Josie for a sec?" You asked Lizzie.

Lizzie looked back at Josie, the brunette nodding at her sister. Lizzie then got up. "I'll go and get some ice." Lizzie said.

You walked forward so Lizzie could leave. Once the blonde left and shut the door you decided to speak. "How are you feeling?" You questioned.

Josie glanced down at her lap before back up at you. "Used." It became quiet. "But I'm glad you're okay." Josie said, making a small smile come to your lips.

You looked between her eyes. "Are you okay?" You asked her, fiddling with your hands.

"Yeah." She immediately responded. "Yeah, I'm just a little drained." She stated.

You lightly chuckled. "Yeah, I know the feeling." You said, talking about your blood.

"Yeah. You should get some rest." Josie stated to you.

You licked your lips, knowing you should. "Oh, yeah, I will. But, um..." You moved to sit on the edge of the bed as standing up was making you dizzy. "I wanted to know if it was okay if I came back to school." You said, a smile on your face.

Since Josie thought Landon had a crush on you, which would be awkward since you two are like siblings, you had to ask the question. "I miss it." You chuckled. "I miss my classes." You thought you'd never hear yourself say that. "Miss morning meetings. Supper Squad even." You chuckled.

Josie had a smile on her lips as you said that. "I even miss Lizzie annoying the crap out of me." You trailed off, locking eye contact with her. "I miss you. But, um, I won't come back if my being here... brings you any more pain." You stated truthfully. Just then a scratching noise was heard. "What's that?" You questioned.

Looking around to see where the noise is coming from, Josie grabbed a red book. "Penelope's burn book. Somebody must be using her pen." Josie stated, opening the red book and flipping to the page that is being written in.

Josie started reading it and you watched her face become sad. "What is it?" You questioned.

Josie took a breathe. "Um, it's Landon." She said, placing the book down.

You moved over so you could also start reading it. "So I have to leave Mystic Falls, knowing that they'll follow me. I have to let you live your lives without monsters and without me. I hope you can forgive me for this someday, but I understand if you don't. With love and regret, Landon." And then it was done.

Tears welled into your eyes, blurring your vision as Landon left town without a goodbye. As much as he hated you and you hated him, you would've said goodbye, so why didn't he? Was it going to be too hard? Whatever the reason was, you weren't happy.

You took a few deep breathes as you prayed tears wouldn't fall. You lifted the cover of the book and angrily shut it. Josie looked up at you, grabbing your hand. When she did that, you looked down at it before looking up into her eyes, Josie obviously seeing tears. "He made his choice. We can make our own." Josie stated. "Landon or no Landon, you belong here. I want you to stay." Josie finished.

You let out a trembling breathe as some tears escaped, you letting in a deep breathe so you don't let out a sob. "I'm really sorry." You apologised to your cousin.

Josie also had a few tears in her eyes. "Yeah, me too." She whispered.

The both of you opened your arms and brought each other in for a big hug. One you both needed. Just then Lizzie and Hope walked in. Lizzie holding four spoons and a tub of ice cream. "Something or someone" Lizzie glanced at Hope. "told me I needed to upgrade from ice to ice cream." You and Josie chuckled.

Hope and Lizzie then moved form standing to sitting down. Hope next to you and Lizzie next to her sister. "I can tell we are all feeling a lot of emotions right now." Lizzie stated, you all grabbed a spoon while Lizzie started opening the tub. "So get this." You put your spoon into the tub of ice cream and ate some, the cold feeling lingering in your mouth.

"Dad says that I'm not allowed to give Sebastian the boot until he has checked him out. And now that there's no headmaster, no one is going to punish MG for his weaselly little ways. How ridiculous is that?" Lizzie questioned, earning a snort from you. "What?" Lizzie questioned.

You held your hand over your mouth. "Are you meaning your 'hallucination' boyfriend?" You teased Lizzie.

Hope and Josies mouths were open. "Don't tease me!" Lizzie threatened.

You chuckled, going for another scoop of ice cream. "I'm sorry, but at least us three can actually get real boyfriends and girlfriends." You, Josie and Hope burst out into laughter after you said that. Lizzies mouth was now open but she quickly joined in with the laughter as what you said was true.
