RECAP

Now the feeling of Landon being mad at you and never going to talk to Rafael again had broken your heart. You rested your head back into your hand, tears falling from your eyes and down your cheeks.

You held back a sob as you covered your mouth, also wiping your tears that fell. You closed your eyes as you wanted to stop the tears but couldn't. You took in some breathes and calmed yourself down. You watched as everyone was happy and with their family while you were there alone, with no family. "Kate?" You heard someone call out.

You looked behind yourself to see Elena and Damon. Ric had told you a lot about them and when he was telling you, you felt as if you had known them for a long time. "Elena? Damon?" You voice broke.

Limiting yourself up, you immediately went straight to them, both of them coming towards you. The three of you going into a hug, a hug you never wanted to leave. You three just stayed there, hugging as you cried, sad about Landon and Rafael but also tears of joy because you felt whole, like they were your parents comforting you, only they weren't your parents.

You were sat on the seat near the Malivore portal as you held the prism, your mind still thinking about Rafael and Landon. You watched as light shined next to you from the prism and just then Landon emerged. He smiled at you while you smiled at him.

It was interrupted when Lizzie, Josie and Hope walked up. "Reporting for Portal duty!" Lizzie exclaimed, doing an army salute. "I brought backup." Lizzie stated.

It wasn't that noticeable, but tears had formed in your eyes. You made eye contact with Hope and she knew you were feeling under the weather so she sat down and brought you in for a hug, allowing a few tears to escape your eyes without the twins seeing how broken you felt.

You quickly wiped the tears that fell, you and Hope moving over so Lizzie and Josie could sit down. "So, this is nice, right? Together again." Lizzie tried lightening the mood.

Hope looked over at Lizzie, shaking her head slightly. "It's great." You stated in a soft, monotone voice.

Josie stayed quiet for a little bit. "It's awesome." She said.

Lizzie looked between you and Josie. "I mean, for the two of you not to be talking to each other just because Josie thought mop-head had a crush on you and you just wanting to protect the garden gnome, I think we're more evolved than that as women." Lizzie continued speaking.

You went to say a fired up response but Hope stopped you. "Absolutely." Hope stated for you, causing you to sink into your seat.

"Without a doubt." Josie replied.

Lizzie smiled. "Good. Because, personally, I've never been better." Lizzie then started to go on about herself. "My work paid off. My mind is sharp. All perceived mental breakdowns were a figment of my imagination, fed by two manipulative vampires who will remain forever my enemies." Lizzie rambled.

Hope was generally curious about what was happening with Lizzie and Sebastian. "What's going on with Sebastian?" Hope inquired to the blonde.

Lizzie looked over at Hope when she asked the question. "Headmaster Downton Abbey wants us to enroll him to keep him off the streets." Lizzie looked away, Hope looking away as well and to you, seeing you were looking at the prism still. "But after deliberately letting me think that I was unwell, I will not let that happen." Lizzie explained to the auburn haired girl.

Josie looked up at her sister. "You should forgive MG." Josie stated.

Lizzie glanced at her sister, surprised she would say that but kept calm. "Never." She replied.

The brunette stayed quiet. "He didn't want to hurt you."

"But he hid things from me." Lizzie replied, obviously and sounding hurt. "Zero stars." She used sarcasm to not sound week.

Josie didn't break eye contact with her sister. "He's not the only friend keeping secrets." Josie replied, passive-aggressively referring to you.

You immediately looked up and stared at Josie. "I didn't want to hurt you either." You commented.

Josie didn't make eye contact with you. "Yeah, well, zero stars." She said.

Josie looked down to see your fiddling with the prism. "Is that what I think it is?" Josie asked.

You glanced at her before trailing to where her eyesight was. "Yeah." You said blankly. After a second you lifted your arm up and handing it to her. "Here. I don't need it anymore." You stopped speaking.

Josie grabbed the prism. "Thanks." She said.

You lowered your arm and placed it in your lap. "Besides I stole it from the school when I came back, so..." You trailed off.

It became quiet again, the silence was deafening but you felt fine. "Look at us." Lizzie stated, looking at all of you. "Clear hearts and minds. Letting the power of our intellect rule the day over our emotions. Moving forward with dignity and grace." Lizzie kept stating things. "This is the true definition of girl power." Lizzie then wrapped an arm around Josie, reaching over to grab you and pull you in. "I'm proud of us." She said.

You took her arm off as you were squishing Hope but then some voice appeared. "Greetings, witches." He said in an accent.

You all looked at him confused before standing up. "Who the hell are you?" Lizzie stated.

The guy raised his finger. "An answer for an answer." He stated. "There are two sisters. One gives birth to the other. And the other, in turn, gives birth to the first. Who are they?" He questioned.

"They're..." Hope started but didn't know so trailed off.

You crossed your arms over your chest. "Night and day." You stated. "The sisters are night and day." You continued.

The guy smiled as he was happy for you getting the answer right. "Ah. Your reward for answering correctly is to know that you are in the presence of the master of the ancient lands." He got up out of his seat and faced you four. "The all-holy, ever-divine sphinx." He said as if you guys were supposed to know.

You and Hope let out a sigh, but you rolled your eyes. He watched all your expressions to see the four of you were looking done with him. "People are usually more impressed." He stated.

Lizzie had crossed her arms as well as she was annoyed. You cocked your head to the side. "It's been a long semester." Hope stated before you could say something idiotic. "Prohibere." Hope chanted and they guy became fully frozen.

Just then a human that was going for a jog was running by. The four of you grabbed each other's hand, allowing the twins to siphon magic. "Invisique." You all said, obviously becoming invisible along with the sphinx.

The human stopped running, confused but then just kept running. "See? Girl power." Lizzie said while you guys were still invisible.

You all became visible again, the guy still frozen. You walked forward but then passed the sphinx and started walking off to Mystic Falls High. "Where are you going?" Lizzie called out.

You turned your head around. "To tell your dad we have another monster on our hands." You stated, turning back around, starting to jog to the school.

As you entered the school, you made you way to the principals office. "I'll hold." You heard Alaric say. This was really the first interaction you had with him since his memories came back.

You knocked on the door and walked in. "Hey." You said as Ric had a phone next to his ear, placing it back down. "So, good news. We caught another monster. It's a sphinx, in case you had that on your Malivore bracket." You stated, coming to a stop. Alaric moved forward but came to a stop."Which must mean that the zombie's probably road kill by now, right?" You questioned.

You stopped yourself before continuing. "Unless Malivore is actually starting to send two monsters at a time," Alaric moved forward more, causing you to change your voice weirdly in confusion. "in whi-" You stopped yourself from speaking. " 'Kay." Was all you said, hugging back. "Uh, good morning to you, too." You stated, slightly having a questioning tone mixed with a slightly happy tone as well.

Alaric rested his head on top yours. "You told me your story." Alaric let out a sigh. "But now, with the memories, I'm just happy to have you back." Alarics voice cracked when he said that.

You closed your eyes, smiling as he said that. You both then left the comforting hug and were now standing apart. "I wish everyone else felt the same." You responded, placing your hands in your back jean pockets.

Alaric did a small smile. "You're just gonna have to give them time." He replied.

You looked between his eyes. "Actually... planning on doing just that. I'm headed to New Orleans to do research on how to close the portal with Hopes aunt and her circle of witches." You stated.

Alaric nodded to your response. "I see. Does Hope know about this?" He questioned.

You shook your head. "No, I personally called Freya myself." You stated, no telling how you got Freya's number.

Alaric nodded. "Now, this trip to New Orleans, is it round-trip or one-way?" Alaric questioned.

You looked away from his eye sight as you didn't know how to answer. "To be honest with you, I don't know." You stated, looking back into his eyes, although his eyes never left you.

It was obvious Alaric felt hurt but the truth is the truth. The worse part was you were leaving everyone once again. Since you weren't sure what to say next you decided to leave Alaric in the office.

You left to go to the bus station, taking the bus to New Orleans, you then started moving towards the entrance of the bus but just then your name got called. "Kate!" The voice of your brother called out to you. You looked up and saw Landon standing a few feet away. "Don't go." He said, coming closer. "I need you." Landon stated.

You were confused. "Uh, I-I have to go figure out a-a way to close the portal." You stuttered a few where's, also lowering your voice and a tone of confusion made its way into your voice.

Landon looked between your eyes. "Then I'll come with you. I just couldn't stand losing you again." You slightly scrunched up your face, a little creeped out by how he was acting. "I love you, little sister." Landon finished, bringing you in for a hug.

You obviously hugged back. "Big brother, I love you, too. Of course I love you." You stated, happy.

"Aw, hell." A voice said behind you, definitely the voice of Landon. You left Landons hug and turned around. "You had to find Kate?" Landon asked Landon.

You looked between an annoyed Josie, mad Hope, a Landon that was upset that a loving Landon found you. "What the hell is happening?" You questioned to the whole group, you obviously mad as well.

You now sat in the Salvatore School. Both Landons sat in front of you while Hope sat next to you. "I'm the real Landon and this is SimuLandon." The real Landon stated. "I used the prism to manifest my subconscious, and then Josie turned him into a golem." He explained pretty fast. The fake Landon waved at you. "Show her." He looked at Landon.

You moved your eyesight to fake Landon and watched as he lowered his shirt and jumper to reveal a glowing light that looked like something out of Iron Man. He then lowered his shirt up and you looked back over to the real Landon. "We're gonna use him as a decoy. We'll let the sphinx take him into the portal." He stated.

The fake Landon scrunched up his face. "I don't want to go in the portal. I want to stay here with Kate, my sister." The fake Landon grabbed your hand fast.

You immediately looked over at your real brother, glaring at him. "Uh, I think we need to talk to your subconscious about personal space." You sassily stated, taking your hand back.

"We didn't realise he'd be so vocal." Hope stated.

You looked at Hope with a face that read 'you were in on this too?!'. "And fast. He ran away after we created him." Landon added. "I guess to find you." You took your eyesight off Hope and towards the fake Landon, glaring at him as he smiled at you.

You then looked down and let out a breathe. There is one catch. Josie bound him to the lunar cycle." You lifted your head up immediately.

"Oh, thank god." You mumbled but Hope heard it and slightly chuckled.

"So, when the moon reaches its apex tomorrow night, Simu-me will disintegrate." Landon explained his whole plan.

SimuLandon looked at real Landon, scared, "What? Uh, no one told me that part!" SimuLandon started freaking out.

You groaned as SimuLandon never stopped talking. "How does that close the portal?" You questioned the group.

Landon gave you a knowing look. "That's where you come in." He stated.

Landon let Hope take over. "You've been inside Malivore so he's expecting you to jump back in. So we need to drain you of all your blood just to pump SimuLandon full of it, so when he goes in, the Tribrid blood close the portal." She explained to you.

You looked between her eyes before back to SimuLandon and real Landon. "My blood's not enough to keep the portal closed. I have to activate my vampire side. Malivore is just gonna spit him out and create a new portal." You summarised.

"Not if he disintegrates before there's anything to spit out." Landon spoke up. "Portal closed, no new portal opens. Both problems solved. Life goes back to normal... ish." He explained.

In your opinion, it was a well thought out plan. You looked around the group to see them all pleased with their idea. "I love you, sis." SimuLandon randomly said.

The real Landon let out a soft sigh. "Please stop saying that." He said.

You scoffed. "At least he has the guts to say it and he's not even real." You fired to Landon. Landon looked hurt but it's his fault for acting as if he doesn't love you like a brother would a sister and vice versa.

SimuLandon ignored your comment. "I can't help it. I want to shout it front the rooftops." You watched as Landon stood up to start shouting. "I love Kate Lo-"

"Ad Somnum." You chanted straight away, SimuLandon falling onto the cough fast asleep.

You leaned your head on Hopes shoulder as you were very annoyed with SimuLandon. You glanced at both Landons before down to your hands, watching as Hope interlaced them.
