RECAP
You nodded, putting your hands in your pockets. "Good meeting you, Damon." You said.
Damon walked backwards towards the door. "You too, Kate." He responded and walked out the door.
You then walked over to Ric and sat on the stool next to him. "Any idea on how to kill this monster?" You asked, starring up at Ric.
"No clue." Ric responded, looking between your eyes.

You watched as the monster was walking towards Landon. Landon had no clue as he was listening to music and drawing. You watched as the monster went to grab him and you couldn't just sit around and do nothing. "Icaeus!" You chanted, moving your arm backwards, making the monster fly away from Landon.
You ran towards it, jumping into the air with your werewolf strength and punched it in the face. You landed on the ground and turned around, only to be hit by the monsters arm and thrown onto the floor. You looked over at the monster as you laid on the floor, it roared at you but you quickly reacted and started getting up. "Icaeu-" You got cut off as it grabbed a hold of your throat, his hand overlapping your nose and mouth, causing the air in your lungs to be knocked out of you.
Trying your nearest to escape was hard since you couldn't really do much without chanting a spell to become free. You stared as the monster raised its hand, about to punch you or do something worse but then an arrow flew into the hand, and you got dropped to the ground, grunting.
As you laid on the floor, catching your breathe, Ric ran forward and punched the monster in the stomach. He tried putting a arrow in the crossbow but the monster grabbed him by the shirt and threw him. You had finally gotten up. "Hey you!" You got the monsters attention. "Incendia!" The monsters head then set on fire.
After tapping it's head many times the fire went out and a giant eye was revealed. It then roared, mad at you. "New theory. Cyclops." Alaric said, groaning as he looked over at you.
You nodded. "Yeah." You breathed out, panting. You walked forward and grabbed the crossbow he dropped, it was already loaded so you didn't have to do anything. You pointed the crossbow at the monster, aiming the crossbow up at the monsters' eye. You fired it, the arrow soared through the air and right into it's eye.
It stopped everything it was doing and instead became limp, you lowered the crossbow as you watched the monsters body fall to the ground, dead with a giant thud. Alaric came running up to you, panting as he did. "Eugh." He said, grossed out. "You think it's really a.." Alaric trailed off.
The body then turned into ash, the ash raising into the air. "Yep." You responded.
"Great." He replied, still panting. He then bent down and grabbed the crossbow out of your hands. "Let's get out of here." He stated, walking off.
You went to follow him but stopped as you saw Landon starring at you. You stared back before realising you can't be out here because it's possible Hope might see you as well so you broke the eye contact and made your way to Alaric.
You and Alaric were now down near the garbage bags where the left over food goes from the Mystic Grill. "That was some nice work back there." Alaric said as he turned around to look at you. As you looked over at him you chuckled. "Surprising amount of overlap between troll and cyclops." Alaric stated.
"Yeah, there really is." You laughed as you said that.
Alaric had a small smile on his face. "Yeah. Look, I, uh, I know you're not gonna stay." He said in a sad tone, he then handed the crossbow over to you. "Here." You looked down at the crossbow before up into his eyes. "Take it." He said. You grabbed a hold of it, unsure what to do. "Be safe out there." He went to walk off but you spoke up.
You held onto the crossbow. "You're good at this, you know?" You stated, a small smile on your face.
He looked back at you, confused. "Monster hunting?" He guessed.
You held back a small laugh. "Helping kids." You responded.
Alaric nodded. "Ah." He then chuckled, causing you to as well.
You looked as his beard but he then started walking away. "You should keep the beard." You said, turning around and walking away.
After a couple minutes of walking, you found yourself sat on a concrete seat, holding the prism you used to speak to Hope. And instead of actually going to talk to your subconscious, you put the prism in your bag and zipped it up. "Hey." A voice called out, it was familiar and when you turned to look at who it was, you saw Landon.
You were shocked for a few seconds. "Hey." You responded, trying to not let tears into your eyes.
He started walking closer. "We saw each other earlier, right?" He questioned.
You nodded, slightly smiling. "Yeah." You glanced away before back to Landon. "U-Um, I was just out on a walk to clear my head." You explained.
"Rough night?" He questioned.
You weren't sure what to say for a couple seconds. "Uh, yeah, actually, uh, relationship trouble." You were semi-lying. Sure you were mad at Hope and Landon, but Landon doesn't remember you, but Hope does at that's what gets on your nerves. She kissed Landon, even though she remembered you.
Landon was now next to the seat. "Must be contagious." He joked.
You looked at him confused. "Why? You too?" You asked.
He moved to sit down next to you. "Yeah. I'm with this really amazing girl, but all of a sudden, everything's super complicated." He explained his part of why he was out late.
You stayed quiet. Was he with Hope? "Huh." You responded.
"You?" He asked.
You looked down at your hands before back to his eyes. "Oh, uh," You chuckled. "Uh, old story, I guess, uh... fell for a girl who doesn't even know that I exist." You lied.
Landon laughed a little bit. "Huh. That's a classic." He said.
You smiled, looking down. "Yeah." Your smiled faded.
Landon watched you. "She is really great, but I just feel like I want it to be perfect, and..." You mumbled a soft 'yeah'. "and I want to be the perfect boyfriend, and she's trying to be the perfect girlfriend, and it was really effortless, but now it feels so... off. I don't know." He paused for a quick breathe. "Sorry." He apologised.
You shook your head. "No, uh, don't be." You stated. "You know, um, a very smart girl once taught me that sometimes you have to be brave enough to be imperfect with people... even if it's scary." You stated.
Landons smile came back. "Yeah." He chuckled. You looked down, tears wanted to escape so bad. "Of course, you're gonna have to take your own advice and tell that girl of yours that you exist." Landon stated.
You wiped a tear that fell. "Oh." You chuckled. "I don't know about that." You laughed as you looked at Landon. You breathed in and out, your breathe ever so slightly shaky.
Landon realised you were crying. "I hope your night gets better." He stated.
Your smile came onto your face. "Thanks." You responded.
He then placed a drink next to you. "This'll help. Double Chocolate Frappe, whipped cream on the bottom." You just wanted to let out the biggest cry as that was your favourite milkshake. "It's probably all melted by now, but, um," He trailed off.
"Oh." You said as he said that, grabbing it.
He then continued as he got up from being next to you. "I don't even know why I ordered it. I didn't have of it. I didn't want a milkshake. It just seemed..." He trailed off, not sure of what to say. "Thanks for listening." He said before walking away.
You smiled as Landon left and once he was far enough, you turned around and placed a hand on your mouth to muffle your sob as tears fell.

Hope sat at her desk, seeing if the spell she found was safe when a knock came from the door. "Come in." She said and as she turned around, she saw Landon walk in. "Hi." Was all she said as she closed her book.
He walked in and over to her bed. "Hey. I just came to ask, since you're a Tribrid, do you remember who could've jumped into the pit that we all forgot?" Landon questioned.
Hope stayed quiet for a few seconds. "Uh, no, sorry. Why do you ask?" Hope lied, now questioned Landon.
Landon just shrugged. "I'm not sure. I just ran into someone who I felt I knew but couldn't remember where I knew her from." When Landon said that, Hopes heart skipped a beat. Could you be back? That thought lingered in her head.
"I-I'm sorry. I can't remember." Hope lied.
Landon nodded, getting up. "That's okay." Landon said, walking to the door. "See you tomorrow?" He asked.
Hope smiled a little. "Yeah Good night." Hope softly said and Landon walked out, closing the door.
Hope smiled even more as it was possible you were already back and she was so happy, even if it was just a theory of hers.
ââââ
You knocked on the door of Ric's office in Mystic Falls High. he looked up at you to see you had tear stained cheeks and more tears to come. "Um," You already trailed off. "My name's not Kate Parker. It's Kate Lockwood. I'm Tyler and Liv's daughter." You explained, your voice cracking.
Alaric just nodded as he got up. "And I know you don't remember this, but, um... you're the closest thing I have to a father now, technically uncle." You joked but tears fell down your cheeks instead. "And the entire world has forgotten that I exist, besides Hope Mikaelson, and the girl I love, which is Hope, has moved on with my step brother Landon," You paused.
You let in a much needed breathe. "so I have absolutely no idea what to do next." Your eyes were red from the amount of tears in your eyes. You bit the inside of your cheek as you waited for Alaric to speak.
He stayed quiet for a few, letting out a sigh. "It's okay. We'll figure it out together." He walked forward. You looked him up and down before walking forward and wrapping your arms around his torso, hugging him. He wrapped his arms around you, rubbing your back.
