RECAP
Alaric looked at it. "I take it that's the urn I don't remember." Alaric said. You nodded.
"Yeah. We figured it was better to have it here than to leave it laying around." Hope responded, her voice low.
"So what happens now?" He asked. Just then the urn glowed a orange colour, all of us looked at it before all starring at each other.
You looked Alaric in the eyes. "I think we're about to find out." You then looked at Hope and she looked at you.
ââââ
You sat on the chair in Ric's office. It was 2 in the bloody morning and we were still trying to figure out the next monster. "How long do you think it'll be before the next monster shows up?" Hope questioned.
"It's hard to say. I've never actually seen an artifact glow before." Alaric turned around holding a few books. "Where did you hide the urn, by the way?" Alaric asked.
Only Hope and you knew where the urn was. "I'm not sure we should tell you." Hope replied.
Alaric looked between you and Hope. "Excuse me?" Alaric asked. "Kate gets to know and I don't?" He looked at you then back to Hope.
"She's-She's different." Hope responded. "Isn't it safer if only two of us knows where it is?" Hope asked.
"But seeing as there is only one of me, then that one of us should be the adult." Alaric was serious.
You put your feet up on the table, watching the interaction. "Funny, because I thought it should the two of us with high level superpowers." Hope stood up and moved so her whole body was facing Alaric. "What do we tell everyone else?" She asked. "We should probably warn them before a cyclops crashes exam week." You rolled your head back with a groan, forgetting about the exams.
"It's usually best to start with some form of the truth." Alaric replied, moving to sit on the end of his table.
Hope looked at him. "What about those times the truth is the one thing you can't say?"
"Are you sure you want to keep all of this from Landon?" Alaric inquired. "I mean, I understand you wanting to protect him, but..." Alaric trailed off.
You lifted your head. "He's been wondering about his mother his whole life." Alaric and Hope looked at you. "He finally meets her and then she dies. If we can keep him from knowing what that feels like, then it's worth it." You crossed your arms over your chest. You sighed as no one speaks. Hope nodded in agreement, though. "Look, it's our secret to keep, Dr.Saltzman. Please."
Alaric sighed, giving in. "Okay."
"Thank you." You replied, smiling up and Hope and she smiled back.
Alaric realised your shoes were on his desk. "Get your shoes off my desk." He ordered causing you and Hope to laugh. You brought your feet down and stood up, next to Hope. He sighed before ing continuing. "The trick is to give everyone the right amount of information without giving away too much. We've been through this before with the knife, so it shouldn't come as too much of a shock." He looked away from us before looking back. "This is our chance to do things differently, more responsibly."
You and Hope looked at him, nodding. "One more thing." You spoke up. "What am I doing about the full moon in a couple of nights?"
Alaric sighed. "Hope will take you out into the woods. The transitional cellars will be packed and they probably will attack you since your not in their pack." Alaric replied.
"I don't want to be in a pack anyway." You replied immediately. Alaric nodded at your sudden response. This is going to be a rough week.

Last night there was a meeting so Alaric could tell the students about the arrival of a new monster or whatever. You and Hope were in Ric's office trying to figure out the next monster until you both got too tired and went to bed. You and Hope had went to bed at around 2:30-3:00 in the morning. Nothing really happened but now it was 7am and Hope was patching Rafael up from a nightmare.
"This happened to you in a nightmare?" Alaric asked, confused. "Are you sure?" He inquired, wanting to know if he was telling the truth.
Rafael sighed as Hope just continued to patch him up. "Look, I know that it sounds crazy, but I was studying and then I fell asleep, and then I just started dreaming about-" He got cut off.
Hope cut him off. "About what?" She asked, looking up at him.
He didn't say anything fro a few seconds. "Um... um... One of my old, uh, foster dads. He was in the library, and he had this old belt that he used to use on me." This foster dad was named Kurt. Rafael told you about him, he sounded awful.
"Do you remember anything else?" You spoke up, moving a strand of your hair out of your face.
Rafael nodded. "Yeah, there was, there was this woman there, too." You scrunched up your face. Why would there be a random women? "She was wearing an-an old, black dress and-and a veil. And she told me, 'You know what I want.' But-" He cut himself off.
You and Hope looked at Rafael. "The urn." Hope commented.
"Sounds like our next monster showed up." Alaric replied.
You scoffed. "Great, a dream demon. Just what everyone needs." You sarcastically said.
Alaric got off the table and walked to his bookshelf. "You know, every culture on Earth has legends about creatures that only appear in dreams. But a woman in a black dress and a veil is pretty specific." Alaric came back and sat on the table.
Rafael looked up while Hope moved away, meaning she was done patching Rafael up. "So, does that mean that she can, like, control what we see in our dreams?" He asked. "That she can put stuff in our-in our heads, right?" Rafael looked at Ric.
"It's possible." Alaric replied. He flipped to a page that showed an ugly women in what Rafael described. He then showed the page to Raf, who took it to look at the page. "Does that look familiar?" He questioned. Rafael nodded and that's all it took for Alaric to call an Assembly.
ââââ
We were all sat in the Assembly hall for a meeting. "Our latest monster is a Night Hag." Students all around started taking to each other. "A malevolent spirit trapped on the astral plane that can only interact with us through dreams. In this case, nightmares." Alaric explained. Like you said, dream demon.
"So like, Freddy Krueger?" MG spoke up.
Alaric looked at MG. "Well, in the sense that what happens to you in your dreams seems to also happen to you in real life, yes." Alaric replied to MG. You and Hope watched as Alaric opened his mouth to continue speaking. "But the good news is we're safe, so long as we stay awake." Students started murmuring while you and Hope just looked at each other.
"I've lined up more evacuation shuttles. They should be running all afternoon, so please, for those who don't want to stay and fight, take advantage of them." He looked at basically everyone. "All right, that's all." Everyone got up and started leaving.
Landon walked up to you and Hope. "What about you two? You guys had any bad dreams last night?" Landon asked as you 3 started walking away.
"No. W-We've barely slept. Just a lot on our minds." Hope replied. You walked in between chairs just to get out of the Assembly hall.
You walked in front of Hope and Landon. "Yeah, same. Just got the first-day jitters." Landon chuckled after. "So, has anything, um, come back to you yet about our little amnesia trip?" We all came to a stop near the stairs. "I mean, this can't all be a coincidence, right?" Landon asked.
You looked Landon in the eye. "Uh, you know, let's focus on one problem at a time, okay?" You sent a smile to Landon.
Landon nodded. "Okay," He said while you and Hope sighed. "but, I mean, can I at least help you two solve this problem?" He inquired. "I can be a research assistant, I'm CPR certified, and I know a little tai chi." Landon was trying his hardest to prove he could help and honestly it was too dangerous.
You grabbed Landons arm. "Landon, I know this isn't what you want to hear, but the best way that you can help is say evacuating." You sent a sad smile towards him.
He looked at you. "Well, are you leaving?" He directed that towards you.
You didn't know what to say so Hope spoke up. "No. She needs to stay here and help me." Hope replied for you and you sent her a thankful look.
"Okay, then thanks, but I should probably get to class." He responded and walked past Hope and you. You sighed as you both watched Landon walk off.
ââââ
You sat on your bed studying for the exams while Hope sat at her desk, also studying. You felt your eyes getting heavy but forced them to stay open, but the heaviness was to much and they closed, causing you to fall into a deep sleep.
You woke up in your bed but it felt different, you didn't know how to explain it but it felt dark and it was night time, not day. You turned around to see Hope still at her desk.
"Hope?" You called. No response. You got out off of the bed and walked over to her, when you turned her chair around you saw she was dead due to the amount of blood around her neck. Her vampire side isn't waking her up. "Hope?" You called out again, shaking her limp body.
You then felt another presence in the room and as you turned around, you saw what Rafael explained, the Night Hag. "You did this to her." The Night Hag said. You then looked down your hands, seeing blood on them. Your breathe hitched.
You then realised this is a nightmare. "Get out of my head, this isn't real." You closed your eyes and looked down, only to hear the Hag laugh.
"This is very real." She put her index finger under your chin, lifting your head up. "But I can revive her if you give me what I want." You opened your eyes and looked at her.
You shook your head. "Never." You responded, moving your head off of her hand.
She then screamed. "You will give me what I want!" She came closer and slashed your forearm.
You jumped awake, quickly looking at your hands, no blood. But then you looked at your arm seeing blood. You then saw a hand be placed on yours.
"Hey." Hope calmly said as she looked you in the eyes. "You fell asleep and you were having a nightmare by the looks of it." Hope then motioned to you starring at your hands, then to your now healing forearm. You nodded. "Do you wanna talk about it?" You finally looked her in the eyes.
"I woke up here, it was night and not day. You weren't moving in your chair so I checked to make sure you were okay." You patted the spot next to you for her to sit down, which she did. "Then the Night Hag was there saying I killed you and my hands were bloody but after I said no to giving her the urn. She would only revive you if she got the urn but when I said no she yelled, slashed my arm and then I was back here." You explained.
Hope kept her hand on yours. "I felt so much guilt for killing you." You looked her in the eye, tears forming in yours.
"But I know you and you wouldn't do that." She responded and you nodded.
"I know, but it felt so real." You sighed. "Guess that's what she wants me to think." You groaned, luckily no tears fell. "God, I was just so tried.." You let your head fall so now you were looking down.
"Me too." Hope responded. "But we need to stay awake, okay?" She asked and you nodded.
