RECAP

"MG, tell her that when you loose someone you love, it's okay to not be okay." You responded, your eyes tearing up but you held back the tears. You didn't realise this but Hope was secretly listening in, her body saddening when she heard it. She then turned around as you went to follow after her.

AS Hope and you trailed down the path to a point where Lizzie and Mg couldn't see you, you both came to a stop. "Look, I need to chat with Landon, I'll see you tomorrow?" Hope questioned.

You nodded, making your way to the Salvatore School entry to get to Hope's room. You felt angry for some reason. Why were you feeling like that? You shook the thought away. But then what you said to MG came back. 'when you loose someone you love, it's okay to not be okay.' You haven't felt okay since the moment your parents died, some days harder than others, like Hope said, but you were never okay since they left you.

————

We all we seated in the Assembly Hall once again for a meeting. You obviously sat next to Hope again. "Given recent events, some students have expressed concern that I am not allowing you to have a say in the decisions that affect your future. And I agree. If you are expected to abide by this school's policies, it's only fair that you have a voice in how those rules are made. So, I am forming an honor council. One vampire, one witch and one werewolf, each elected by their peers. Along with our school counselor Emma, whose vote will represent the younger students." There was scattered conversations happening between the students but that didn't stop Alaric from speaking. "Now, I have to go off-campus. In the meantime, I expect you to make good decisions and to vote wisely." He paused, as if he was debating something in his own mind.

"I have one more thing. Kate Parker, stand up." Your heart quickened at you name being called. Hope looked at you and you looked at her but got up none the ness. All eyes on you. "I've lied to you all about who she is. It's best you know the truth." You eyes glistened with tears as you know where this was going. "First off, her name is not 'Parker', it's Lockwood." The chatter from before returned. "She is not just a witch, but a werewolf and vampire. Now, I don't want you to treat her any different just because we have another tribrid in our school." A tear ran down your cheek as everyone looked at you with shocked faces. You felt judged. "That's all. You're dismissed."

You quickly got out of you seat and ran up the stairs and out of the hall. Hope watched as you left, feeling really upset for you. Hope then moved out of her seat and went to Dr.Saltzman. "What the hell was that?" Hope questioned angrily.

"They needed to know the truth, Hope." Alaric said, looking down.

"Was it not obvious that she didn't want people to know?" Hope argued. "I'm sure you didn't see this but a tear rolled down her cheek as you said that. She was scared." Hope commented. Alaric said nothing while Hope shook her head and made her way out of the hall.

Hope found her way to her room to see you sitting on the bed, legs crossed and your head in your hands. You looked up. "Hey.." Your voiced cracked.

"Hey.." Hope said, shutting the door gently behind her and sitting next to you, rapping her arm around your shoulder. "I spoke to Alaric and told him it wasn't very right of him to tell the whole school what you are." Hope spoke softly.

You looked up at Hope with teary eyes. "I felt judged, Hope."

Hope nodded. "I know what that's like.." She said. "Just know I'm here." Hope hugged you. "Well, I need to go speak to Alaric once again, so, see you soon?" Hope and you stopped hugging. You nodded, she got up and left you alone in the room. The silence being comfortable.

You walked out of the room, feeling a little bit better and at least it looked as if you hadn't been crying a little. You saw and Landon and turned around, knowing he'd want to speak to you.

"Kate!" Landon called from down the hall way. You turned around.

"Hey, Landon, I'm sorry I didn-" You got cut off from Landon engulfing you in a hug. You hugged back immediately.

"I don't care what you are. Just know I'll never see you differently." Landon said in the crook of your neck, causing your heart to melt at his words.

You smiled. "Thank you." You responded.

"Come, I have to go to the headmaster office for something." You guys walked side by side to the principles office. He opened the door to the room, both of you seeing Hope sitting there. "What are you doing here?" Landon questioned.

Hope turned around and got up. "Dr.Saltzman wanted me to administer your tests, starting with some..." Hope looked down at the stuff on the table, then looking back up. "...weird mystical blood analysis."

"No!" Landon immediately said without thinking. You put your head down at how fast he responded.

"Excuse me?" Hope responded.

He repeated it again. "No!" We walked further into the room. "These tests determine whether or not I get to stay at the school, right?" Hope nodded very slightly, looking at you for help but you shook your head. "There is no way I'm putting my future in your hands; you're biased." You looked at Landon with wide eyes.

"I'm not biased. Besides, neither of us has a choice." Hope stated. "Believe me, this is not how I would choose to spend my day either." Hope continued.

Landon placed a hand on his waist. 'See? Biased." Landon turned away to walk off.

"Landon." Hope called out, Landon turning around. "Last thing that you told me was that you wanted to find answer about who or what you are." Hope started. "I want those answers, too. So let's get through this." Hope finished.

————

Landon was now jumping to try and grab a blue cloth Hope had put in the tree, high enough to see if he could jump high to get it. You sat on the warm grass in the warm sun while Hope stood and watched Landon.

Landon was now in a hand stand, he failed grabbing the blue cloth. "Hey. I'm doing it." Landon said, struggling as she stayed in a hand stand. "Now what?" He grunted.

"Hold it for ten minutes." Hope replied in a monotone voice, pressing the clock to time him.

"What?" Landon said. He falls over in like not even 5 seconds, grunting as he fell onto his back.

Next was lifting up a log. Hope was going to time him but she has had enough. "You can stop." She said and Landon dropped the log. "You failed. You have no supernatural strength."

Hope crossed her arms. "What's next?" Landon questioned.

"Next?" Hope replied. "You failed the vertical climb, the long jump, and you straight-up refused to swim across the lake." Hope listed off the things he failed and didn't do.

'Yeah, well, excuse the foster kid for never having swim lessons." He stated. "Look, I might suck at-at... everything, apparently, but I only have to pass one test to stay, so I'm not giving up yet."

Emma then approached us. "How's it going?"She asked.

Hope and you turned around to look at her. "Landon was about to run sprints," She aid looking at Landon, holding up the watch. "to the lake and back." She pressed the timer and Landon took off in a sprint. All of us watching him.

Emma turned back to look at Hope. You stayed seated on the floor in the warm sun. "What are you testing for, exactly?"

"His ability to get away from me as quickly as possible." Hope nodded sarcastically. "If he's gonna stay in this school, it's a must." Hope responded.

"Did you run the lineage spell that I left for you?" Emma asked.

You spoke up. "Yeah, first thing. Zero magic in his bloodline." You then laid back on the grass, shutting your eyes as it hurt with the sun literally killing them if they were open. They both looked at you, before looking back at each other.

"Hmm." Emma responded.

"Hmm?" Hope asked.

"Most humans have some trace of magical blood in their veins from a far-flung ancestor." You looked over at Emma.

Hope was just confused. "So what does that mean?" She inquired.

"We need to learn more about Landon's past." Emma replied. "And I need to speak to you." You looked at her confused. "Counsellor session." She reminded you.

You totally forgot. You get up and walk to Emma. "I'll see you later." You tell Hope as you walked off with Emma.

————

"How do you feel about Alaric telling the whole school about the fact you were a tribrid?" Emma asked.

You looked down, fiddling with you hands. "I felt judged by the other students." You responded honestly.

Emma nodded. "How are you feeling now?" She asked.

You shrugged. "I feel like eyes are always on me, but when I look around there isn't anyone looking at me so guess I'm paranoid." You responded.

Emma decided to change subjects. "So, I've seen you hanging with Hope quite a bit." Emma started, causing you to look up at the mention of the girls name. "You two are friends? I presume." Emma asked.

"Yeah, I guess. She's helping me learn magic to catch up with the other students." You responded.

Emma nodded. "Well, I'll see you next lesson, come to me if you need anything." Emma said. "Sorry it was a short lesson." She apologised. You smiled as a way to say 'it's okay'. You got up and went to the door, opening it but Emma stopped you. "Kate, I see the way Hope is with you, I haven't seen her be that with anyone before, keep it up." Emma smiled. Then you left the room.

————

You roamed the school, bored as hell. But when you turned the corner you saw Hope and Landon arguing. "I didn't even want to do this. Don't blame me because you're not special." Hope fired.

"I apologised for lying to you. I explained why I took the knife. Why re you still so mad at me?" Landon pleaded. You stayed hidden behind a wall, listening to them.

"I'm not mad! I couldn't care less." Hope replied. You took a quick look and saw Hope look away from Landon. He lifted a ball that turned red and Hope looked shocked. "Fine. It's easier to be mad." hope lifted her arms up.

"Why?" Landon asked.

"Because it is." Hope fired.

Landon stepped forward. "Or maybe it's because you feel like if you stop being mad, you're letting your guard down, and the legendary Hope Mikaelson couldn't possibly do that." Landon pointed out.

"When I let my guard down, people disappoint me." Hope answered. The ball then glowed blue, must be the truth then.

Landon sighed. "But you seem to let it down when you're with Kate." Hope looked down, knowing he was right. "Growing up in the foster system, every time I got sent someplace new, I'd hope that this would be the right place." Landon started, Hope just listening.

"You know, like, uh, 'click your heels three times', 'no place like home' kind of stuff. Just somewhere I actually belonged. But it never was. You know, and you can only hold out hope for so long and-and be hurt by so many people before it starts to seems impossible to trust someone new. Especially when they lie to you. So, for the last time, I'm sorry. I broke your trust. I don't want to do it again." Landon explained and he was telling the truth. You felt, jealous or something, you weren't sure.

Hope let her arms drop before grabbing the ball. "Thank you." She replied softly.

"But if this goes the wrong way," Landon started putting his jacket on. "can you just make sure that Raf doesn't, um, follow me this time? As much as I want to stay here, he needs to. He finally found a home he deserves. I'm not gonna take that away from him." You felt bad for Landon.

When you saw Landon turn around to leave, you quickly disguised yourself. "Invisique." You whispered, becoming invisible so Landon didn't see you when he walked by.

You then walked out and as you did you became visible. Hope's eyes widened. "I didn't know you were here."

"I heard basically the whole thing.." You trailed off, looking down before looking back up. "Is it true that you only let your guard down around me?" You questioned. Hope nodded, she didn't want to lie. "Why is that?" You inquired.

"Well... I like you, Kate." Hope responded. The ball glowing blue, but you acted as if you didn't see it. "But not like the 'crush' kind of way, just as friends." Hope continued. From the corner of your eye you saw the once blue ball become red. Why she was lying?

Did she really have a crush on you...?
