RECAP

"He dies, Lan." You responded, your voice lower now.

Landon thought for a moment. "Okay, you got a point, but you only know that because I forced you to watch the Star Wars movies when we were little. And second, there are two more good sequels, and we're going to watch them all again." Landon stated, causing your eyes to widen slightly as you kind of didn't want to watch them again.

"Please don't prom-" You started to comment.

"I promise!" Landon yelled from running up the stairs, causing you to groan.

————

Landon opened the door to the classroom the Necromancer was in. As he entered, he saw the candle that was lit up, keeping you and Hope out of the building. He approached it, taking careful steps towards it, he looked at the horse shoe type ring around it, as well as the Malivore symbol. He went to grab the candle but jumped when a voice spoke.

"I wouldn't touch that." The Necromancer finally spoke up.

Landon then moved away from the candle and looked behind him, watching the Necromancer. "Okay, I don't have to listen to you. I'm not dead, so you can't stop me." Landon retorted, annoyed by him.

The Necromancer chuckled. "My dear, dull boy, I don't plan to." He responded, extremely calm.

Landon was bothered by his response as it wasn't very clear. "Okay, then what is your plan, exactly?" He questioned, curious.

The Necromancer than got up from his seated position at the teachers desk. "To have my revenge. To fuel a spell so powerful it will set every monster within Malivore loose to rain destruction upon this world." He walked towards Landon. "Consuming humans the way Malivore once consumed us... and to have them all serve me." The Necromancer explained his plan.

Landon starred dumbfounded at the monster in front of him. "That's way more petty than I thought."

"Everyone keeps saying." He commented. "Yeah, yeah. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a blood sacrifice to attend." The Necromancer said as he turned to walk towards the door.

"Well, the only thing you'll be attending is the afterlife once Kate and Hope get here." Landon fired back.

The Necromancer stopped walking and turned back around. "Well, beats your family reunion." Landon turned around when he hurt mud being slopped around. What he saw was not what he was expecting.

When he saw his father standing before him, he jumped and let out a small scream. Malviviré then let out a low growl as he stared at the two in front of him. "Hey, Dad." Landon greeted.

The Necromancer smiled. "Listen well, my new acolyte. End Landon Kirby as you see fit. Savour it, as it will be you last act of free will. Then come to me so your eternity of misery can begin, my faithful servant." The Necromancer ordered.

Malivore then bowed, the symbol on the floor now on Malivores head, meaning he was now The Necromancers puppet. As he bowed, the Necromancer let out a sigh. "We'll have to work on that bow. Less head, more knees." The Necromancer ordered before walking off.

Malivore then growled as he lifted his head to Landon, going to do what he was ordered to. "Aw, man. Okay." Landon whispered as Malivore was now in front of him. Landon went to punch Malivore but his hand got trapped inside him. He let out a few grunts as he couldn't pull his hand out from being sucked in.

"Wait, wait, wait, wait. You want to get back at The Necro, right? I can help. Just-just-just hear me out instead of consuming me!" Landon begged. AS he was about to get sucked into darkness, Malivore let Landon go, allowing him to tell him the plan. Landon looked at his hand, happy he was free. "I'll take that as a yes." He panted.

Landon then got into explanation. "The spell The Necromancer did to raise you must have also made you his servant. And I'm willing to bet that new symbol on your face is the binding part of that spell. I mean, I don't take many witchcraft classes, but I do have the most badass sister with the most badass girlfriend ever who are both witches." Landon started laying out the beginning of a plan.

"I'd say you three should meet, but you kind of already have met my sister, and their blood is the only thing that's toxic to you, so..." Malivore then growled at Landon as he trailed off. Malivore knew who you two were, especially you. "Awkward. And my sister is also super protective of me, so I'm definitely somebody you want to collaborate with instead of eat." Landon continued.

Malivore let out a soft hum, as if he was purring or something. "The bottom line is actually something Hope taught me. There is always a loophole with magic. We just have to figure out what that is." Malivore snorts in response. "The Necromancer said to end me as you see fit. That's a loophole, because even though you have to do what he says, he gave you a lot of..." Landon then had a lightbulb moment. "...wiggle room." He said after a moment.

Malivore tilts his head, groaning softly as he watched his son. "You created me to be your vessel, right? Then use me to destroy him and free yourself. I may not be immortal anymore, but there's no symbol on my forehead that binds me to him." Landon then let out a sigh. "What do you say, Dad?" He questioned, holding out his hand for Malivore to take, Malivore staring at it.

————

You and Hope paced back and forth, both panting. You mind raced with thoughts of why Landon was taking so long. Had something happened? Just then, a door bangs open, catching both of your attention.

Just then multiple students being let by Ethan ran down the stairs Landon went up. "This is the door Landon was talking about. Go, go, go." Ethan ordered, wanting the students to be safe.

"Ethan?" You and Hope called, confused.

"Kate. Hope." Ethan called back.

You took a few steps towards Ethan. "You saw Landon?" You questioned.

Ethan nodded. "Yeah, he told my sister and I to sneak everyone out of the school once he disabled the tractor beam, whatever that means." Ethan explained, many students still running out the door.

You and Hope looked at each other, a smile plastered on both your faces. "He did it." You both said at the same time.

You then turned your head back towards him. "Hey, where was he?" You questioned, wanting him out of the school as well.

Ethan glanced at the students before back to you. "Last I saw, he was headed towards the football field." Ethan stated.

"Okay, you need to go. So do we." Hope commented, grabbing your free hand before pushing through the crowd of students to get up the stairs. Ethan didn't fight and instead started running with the others.

————

The Necromancer had six dead students in a circle, in the middle of the football ground, a bloody knife making a bloody circle where the bodies are. "More blood, more monsters. I must thank you for helping me solve this little dilemma. You know, teaching really is the noblest of professions." The Necromancer spoke, laughing sinisterly to himself.

"Caedis. Fomes.  Gnavigem vectorium." The Necromancer chanted.

"Necromancer!" Landon yelled out from across the field, angrily walking towards the Necromancer who stopped chanting.

A smile then formed on the Necromancers face. "Oh, you are a resilient little cockroach." He started walking towards Landon to meet him halfway. You're just in time to witness the end of your world, Mr. Kirby." The Necromancer said before getting harshly punched square in the jaw and flown up into the air and just a bit over the bodies before falling flat on his back, letting out pained groans.

"This is not my world. And I am not Landon Kirby." Landon stated, walking over to the Necromancer.

The Necromancer lifted himself up onto his elbows. "What do you mean you're not-" He then let out a scared gasp. "Malivore." He whispered. Malivore stared him down. "Mr. Malivore. This isn't necessary. Surely, we can cut a deal. Be reasonable!" Malivore then grabbed the Necromancer Ruby the collar, getting ready to punch him.

Malivore stayed quiet and stopped moving to listen, however he didn't loosen his grip. "My very veins course with black magic. I can give you anything your muddy heart desires if you only say the word." Malivore then lowered his arm that was ready to punch the Necromancer.

He had the Necromancer let out of him grip when a bright light had taken up their vision. "What the bloody hell was that?" He questioned.

Malivore looked around before placing a foot on the Necromancers chest, pushing him back onto the group with force. "I don't care." He said through gritted teeth. The Necromancer let out a groan as he got winded. "I know what I want from you." He stated.

The Necromancer grabbed his foot on his chest. "Well, then you're far better at negotiating than that meat suit you're wearing. And I'm all ears." The Necromancer stated, panting.

Malivore stayed quiet for a moment. "I want you to die." He said, opening his mouth extremely wide so he could kill him. As he lowered to kill the Necromancer, a loud roar from a creature was heard. Malivore looked back and saw the zombie dragon.

The Necromancer then got up, not wanting to die and ran off to stand out of the path of the dragon but close enough to watch. The dragon then let out its fire, letting it trail on the ground before finally reaching Malivore himself, burning him into a scorched Landon Kirby.

You and Hope stood at the end of the field, watching. "No! Landon!" You yelled at the top of your lungs, running onto the field, Hope running behind you. Once you made it to his scorched body, it fell to ashes from a gust of wind, causing your to drop to your nears as tears clouded your vision.

Hope fell next to you, putting a comforting hand on your back as tears clouded her eyes too. "Ashes to ashes. Phoenix or not." The Necromancer said as he walked back from his safe spot.

You and Hope never took your eyes off of the ashes. "Landon."  You whispered, not wanting it to be true and all of this a dream.

"Landon, you say? Oh, I'm afraid you just missed him." He chuckled lightly. "But my dragon didn't." He then cackled before laughing.

Neither you or Hope said anything and just stared at the ashes, Hope had lowered her hand from your back and placed them on her knees. "Well, aren't you gonna say anything? You two are always good for a snarky quip. Hmm? No?" He chuckled at the silence. "All right." He then moved to walk stand behind you and Hope.

"Have it your way, then. As long as your way is well done. Because I'm about to have my pet come back and barbecue you two, just like your brother and friend." The Necromancer laughs at his 'sinister' plan. "Some all-powerful Tribrids you are." The fired, laughing again.

You and Hope glanced at each other, enough so he didn't see both of your eyes flash yellow. Hope moved to grab her sword well you took out your knife. You both were now standing with your weapons in hand, facing the Necromancer.

"Bring dragons back all you want. They're always gonna have a soft spot." Hope countered, gripping the sword tightly.

The Necromancer looked between you two. "As I've always had one for you two." The Necromancer replied.

"Save your breath." Hope said. "You'll be dead before it even gets here." Hope then twirled the sword in her hand, holding it in front of her now. You followed Hopes actions and held your knife in front of you too.

The Necromancer stared at you two, confused. "I don't even breathe, for I am the Herald of Hades. The Grimmest of Reapers. I am death incarnate! You can't kill me." The Necromancer yelled, laughing afterward.

You and Hope angrily rushed forwards and cut his head off of his body, the body dropping to the ground. "Maybe not. But we can stick that head of yours in some very unpleasant places." Hope countered. You also figured that he forgot you two were also unable to die.

You and Hope let out a breathe as you stared at the body. "Can I play, too?" A familiar voice said. You whipped your head around right away when you heard it, smiling. "You were right, by the way. I don't need a weapon if I have you two." Landon joked.

"Landon?" You both questioned, confused how he was back.

Landon looked at himself before back up at you two. "In the flesh. Somehow." Landon stated.

You crossed your arms, smiling. "Okay then. Prove it." You stated.

Landon then walked forward. "In the third grade, you had a massive crush on that one dude from Ninjago. I think his name was Lloyd-" Landon started to speak but you immediately slapped a hand on his mouth to stop him from speaking, sheepishly looking back at a confused Hope as she had never heard that story before.

"Okay, it's you." You said before wrapping him in a hug. After you both let go, you slapped him in the face. "Never do that again, dumbass." You angrily said. You generally thought you lost him and it scared you.
