RECAP
"Because not once today did you say that it would be okay." Landon scolded. "Me giving up everything that made me fit in at this school, everything that makes me fit with you, Raf, Hope, everyone. Today is a prime example of when you were telling me that I go back to being just me, you didn't say that it'd be okay, that we would be okay. And I know why you didn't say it." Landon paused, catching his breathe. " 'Cause you don't believe it." Landon finished.
You looked down, away from his eye sight, knowing he was right. "Admit that." Landon said, but you stayed quiet as you looked back into his eyes. "I promised Raf that I'd live my life the best I can, and so did you but what you want isn't living, Kate. Not to me." Landon scolded you once again before walking off, leaving you alone on the pier in your thoughts about what Landon has said to you.

Hope had also gotten into an argument with Landon after he had talked to you. Apparently Landon had went complaining to Hope about how you wanted to send him back, Hope was on your side which caused them to also fight.
You and Hope now sat in the principals office where you both were talking to the new counselor, after the incident in the gym when playing dodgeball with the werewolves. You both were just trying to blow off some steam. "So... do you want to talk about it?" He asked.
Hope looked away from the ticking clock as she looked at the man in front of her, you looking up from your hands. "Talk about what?" Hope questioned.
"What happened in gym class." The man stated in his fancy British accent, making it clear he wasn't happy with the acting dumb act.
You stared at the man, wanting to just leave and go blow off more steam. "It was an accident." You responded through gritted teeth.
He then looked at you. "And nothing triggered it?" He questioned.
Your mind went back to the dodgeball game and so did Hopes. You heard the whistle blowing, indicating it was time to rush forward to grab the ball. As you did, you ran backwards and threw a ball to Hope so she could get someone out while you dodged an incoming ball and went onto the ground, skilfully grabbing a ball next to you.
You stopped moving as soon as you saw Landon, your blood boiling when seeing him before throwing the ball out of pure anger, forcing it to hit the opposite player in front of you which so happened to be Jed. As the ball hit him, he got sent flying into the bleachers wall.
Starring at Landon afterwards made you not feel any better but you were snapped out of that trance when you heard a loud bang come from the right, looking over you saw Hope had thrown her ball into the other side of the bleachers, making the ball explode upon impact, also glaring at Landon.
"No." You and Hope say simultaneously.
"Like Kate said, it was an accident." Hope backed you up.
"Do you think maybe you were working out some anger, maybe some relationship issues?" He glanced between the two of you, indicating if you two were having a fight. Both of you glared at him before he asked another question. "Sibling trouble? Friend trouble?" He changed the question.
Both of you said nothing as you just stared at him. "Okay. Why don't you tell me what happened yesterday?" He changed the subject, turning to Hope.
Hope lets out a sigh as she thought about what to say, you knew what happened yesterday but you weren't going to say anything and call her out. "Yesterday, um, I had a really bad headache." Hope lied.
The counselor just nodded slightly, knowing she was lying but didn't push. "Mm-hmm." Was all he said before moving to look at you. "And what about you Kate?" He then questioned.
You stared at him, playing with your hands. Yesterday you had been lying in the courtyard when a kid from a like grade four had kicked a ball at you, by accident but since you had a lot on your mind, you immediately grabbed the ball, placed your foot on it before letting it made a loud pop as it exploded from the force you had put on it. After that, you just walked away and went to your room.
You thought about how to respond before thinking of a lie. "I was tired." You stated blandly.
"Okay.." He said under his his breathe but turned his head towards the door as soon as it had opened.
You and Hope glanced to see who it was. Upon realising it was Landon, you turned your head back to the front and put your head in your hands. "What is he doing here?" Hope questioned, her voice already agitated to see the phoenix.
"Well, I thought it would be good for the four of us to have a chat." He responded.
You lifted your head up. "Well, you can't really have a couple's session if he is here. Right?" You questioned but got no answer, Hope just looking away, annoyed. You licked your lips slightly. "Besides he's not even my family, not anymore." You commented, although it hurt to say that, you felt it was right.
Ever since the argument between you two, he's been ignoring you, sending glares your way, etc so you figured you would do the same. "I don't know what we are." Landon mumbled.
Landon than sat down on a spare seat next to Hope. "He walked away because bird brain over there thinks I can't handle him being human." You explained, anger and annoyance in your tone. Hope staying quiet.
"Because you can't," Landon scolded. "..and I didn't walk away." Landon recalled, scrunching his face up as if he didn't.
You immediately looked over at him as he said that, growing more angry. "Landon, your feet physically moved away from me. You walked away." You repeated.
"I mean, I didn't walk away from family." Landon now looked at you. "Not permanently. I just needed... I..." Landon stumbled on his words, unsure of what to say.
Biting your lip slightly, you scoffed. "What?" You questioned.
"I don't know." He then said, his voice quiet.
"Yeah, well, things are complicated, clearly." You commented afterwards, resting your head on your hand.
The counselor then spoke up. "I actually think that it's all connected." The councillor voiced. "The anger, the stubbornness, your father, Landon." The counselor explained.
You and Hope looked at each before getting up. Hope laughed at this. "You're so wrong on so many levels." You commented, sliding the chair away. You then let out a sigh. "Look, we don't have time for this, all right? We were on the trail of a monster before we got called to this ridiculous meeting, so..." You trailed off.
"A monster?" He questioned, as if he didn't know what it was.
You crossed your arms over your chest. "No, a puppy. What do you think?" You questioned rudely.
Hope decided to speak up. "We saw it walk on the school grounds, and tracked it into the building, and..." Hope trailed, realising this was the room. "We tracked it into this room, actually." Hope concluded before the both of you stared at the counselor. "Oh, my God. You're the monster." Hope commented.
The guy only chuckled. "Hope, Kate. You know who I am. I'm Dr.Goodfellow. I'm the guidance counselor here. You have known me your whole life. Remember?" The guidance counselor said.
The odd this was that you hadn't been at this school all your life but for some weird reason you believed what he said and couldn't disagree with him. This confused you a lot. "Right. Sorry." Hope apologised.
She then grabbed your hand, both of you walking out of the office.
ââââ
It was a few hours later after the counselor incident and you and Hope were just walking the halls. As the both of you walked around the corner, Hope grabbed a poster that was on the bill board.
She read it before handing it to you, once you grabbed it, you both came to a halt as Landon appeared in Roth of you. "Uh..."
You read the poster. "Salvatore: The Musical." You read out, handing him the poster.
Landon took the poster. "Yeah, it's a musical about the founding of the school. Dr. Goodfellow said now that I'm human, that I have to start thinking about colleges, and he told me I'm talented at writing music. And apparently, the school needs a musical program for the-the accredi... accreditation board, so..."
You started walking past him. "You know I don't sing in public." You stated.
"Okay. Uh, actually, I-I wanted to..." he grabbed your arm, forcing you to face him again.
Hope moved to stand next to you. "She doesn't sing in public and I don't too, understand that Landon." Hope fried, crossing her arms.
"Sorry." Landon apologised. "I wanted to ask. I know things are awkward, and we don't really know what's going on between us, but I could really use your help with all this stuff, because, I mean, you knew all these people for real." He directed the last part to Hope. "Some of it involves both of your dads." Landon explained.
You and Hope looked at him with an 'are you serious' face. "What?" You both questioned.
"Yeah. He's part of the story of the school. You both are." Landon explained.
"We're not characters in your musical, Landon." Hope scolded, her voice slightly breaking at the mention of her dad.
"Oh, no. I-I-" Landon got cut off.
"My family and her family stays out of it." Hope concluded this conversation, walking off.
You looked at her before back to Landon, shaking your head softly before following after Hope. Yes, you wanted your family to stay out of it, but at the same time, you understand why your family and Hopes family needed to be apart of it because of the historical meaning both of your families have to it.
But you were on Hopes side since you currently had a very strong disliking for Landon.
ââââ
Landon sat in his chair in the gym, listening to Kaleb vocalising. Once he was done, Landon nodded, liking the way he sounded. "Nice, uh, and which role are you reading for?" Landon questioned, grabbing his pen.
Kaleb scoffed. "Uh, Damon." he said like it was the most obvious thing.
"Okay. Cool. Thanks, man." Landon thanked.
"I'll be reading for Damon." The next person said.
"Okay." Landon said.
"Damon." A girl said.
Landon gave a confused look before nodding his head. "Uh-huh."
"I see myself as more of a Damon." Wade said.
Next was Jed. "Let me guess... Damon?" Landon guessed.
Jed shook his head. "Uh, actually... I kind of like Stefan." Jed stated.
Landons face lit up. "Me, too." He stood up from his seat.
"I mean, he's like the anchor to the whole story." Jed explained.
Landon held his hands out in excitement. "Exactly. Yeah, well, you got the part." Landon's decided not eh spot.
"Are-are you serious?" Jed stuttered out.
Landon nodded. "Yeah. No one else auditioned for Stefan." Landon said.
"Yes!" Jed said in excitement. "Thank you."
Landon smiled. "Yeah, no, thank you. Nice work."
"Yes!" Jed exclaimed again, happy.
Lizzie then walked in. "I'm playing Caroline." Lizzie said, no explanation needed.
Landon looked at Lizzie before sitting down. "Lizzie. You have to audition." Landon commented.
Lizzie leaned onto the table, looking at Landon. "Are you saying someone knows my mom better than I do?" Lizzie questioned.
Landon played with the pen in his hands, looking at Lizzie. "Got it." Landon let out a sigh.
"And I know who should play Elena." Lizzie commented, picking up the cup and drinking it.
Lizzie and Landon now stood in front of Josie, telling her she should play Elena. "Me?" Josie questioned, confused.
"We all know you can sing." Landon said.
"Well, that doesn't mean I want to be the lead in a musical." Josie retorted.
"But I thought you were step, stepping into the light." Lizzie hinted.
Josie gasped at Lizzie, looking up at her in slight betrayal. "You promised." Josie sadly said.
"Look, you're just back from a great visit with Mom, you're feeling good. This could be a great opportunity for a non-magic human to participate in the school's community." Lizzie explained, smiling down at her sister.
Josie closed her eyes, thinking about it before opening them again. "Can I... read the script at least?" Josie said, getting up and grabbing the script.
"Uh... Oh, yeah, I want to... It's... I... It's a work in..." Landon trailed off, stuttering as she grabbed the book quickly. When Josie opened it, all it said was 'ACT ONE' and nothing else. "...progress." Landon finished. "Um..." Lizzie and Josie looked at each other before back to Landon when he took the book back. "I'm working on it, okay?" He said before walking off.
