Mates 98
Rejected Mate's Redemption (Freda and James)
Chapter 98
KAIDEN STIRLING
âYou wouldnât dare do thatâ Safiya screeched as color drained from her cheeks at my declaration.
She obviously didnât think I would find out about her actions.
âNo I wonât, but donât push me woman. The only reason Iâm not telling the council that you were the one that convinced that kid to lie against Cisco is because of my reputationâ.
âYou have disgraced me too much, I donât want to add another to the chart, so donât think Iâm showing you mercy. Let this be a warning, because I can change my mind any dayâ. I growled.
âAll this because of Freda?â She scoffed. âWhatâs so special about Freda that you are neglecting your own Luna, Kaiden? Youâre ready to throw your wife under the bus because of Freda?â, she asked in disbelief.
âMind you woman. Freda would have been my real Luna if I wasnât blinded by your schemes. Trust me I regret my actions till this dayâ.I disclosed firmly and Safiyaâs face was red with anger as she began to speak..
âI hate the day Freda was brought into this life and if you think I would stop tormenting Freda then you are so wrong Kaidenâ.
âI am going to find ways to ruin and destroy Freda that sheâd wish she was dead. That kid I used against Cisco was just the beginning. Trust meâ she yelled.

âMummy did you really do that?â A tiny voice stated as the little figure walked into the room.
âHarper? What are you doing here sweetheart? You should be downstairs. Mummy and daddy are having a discussion honeyâ.
âI was downstairs daddyâ she stated as she clutched her teddy bear. âBut I heard noises coming from here and you and mummy were fightingâ. She stated with tears in her eyes and I was filled with guilt.
Harper was a good kid. She didnât deserve to see her parents act this way. âNo honey, mummy and daddy were merely just sorting things outâ, I said as I gave her a light smile.
âYes honeyâ Safiya stated as she made to touch Harper but Harper moved away. âStop it, both of you. I heard mummy say that she was the one who told that kid to lie against Cisco for something he didnât doâ. She yelled and I and Safiya froze.
âUmm, Harper what else did you hear?âI asked sweetly, I just hoped she didnât hear the other declarations I and Safiya said.
âI only heard when mummy said just now that she was the one who told that boy to lie against Ciscoâ she sobbed and I heaved a sign of relief. âThank you goddessâ!
âHoney,i⦠Itâs not trueâ Safiya stuttered as she tried to hold Harper but Harper pushed her away.
âDonât touch me, youâre a liarâ Harper yelled as tears rolled down her cheeks and I was too stunned to think of anything to say.
âIâm going to tell Ciscoâs mum everythingâ Harper disclosed and Safiyaâs eyes widened.

âNo, Harper sweetie donât do that honey, Ciscoâs mum is a bad woman, sheâs trying to destroy our family. All I did was for your own goodâ. Safiya stated and I scoffed.
âSafiya? Can you even hear yourself right now? After everything youâre still blaming Freda?â I asked and she glared at me hatefully.
âHarper honey donât listen to anything anyone says, you should only believe your mother. Mummy knows best okay?â She asked as she made to touch Harper again.
âI said donât touch meâ. Harper yelled angrily. âWhy would you do that to Ciscoâs mummy? You know Cisco is my best friend yet you made his mother apologize and still disgraced her in front of everyoneâ.
âI hate you mummy, I hate youâ Harper yelled as she cried harder and I was dumbfounded.
I couldnât believe that Safiya would go so low to try and manipulate her daughter emotionally.
If only she had said sorry Harper would have forgiven her but she thought she could manipulate everyone to her side. If only she could realize that she wasnât right all the time.
âDaddy are you going to take mummyâs side?â, Harper asked as she peered up at me with teary eyes. I glanced at Safiya and she looked at me expectantly as she gave me a small smile and I almost scoffed.
Safiya would never learn. I had given her many chances. While I wasnât going to take Harper away from Safiya, I wasnât going to influence her decision either.

âNo Harper sweetie, mummy was wrong for what she did. So you can do whatever you pleaseâ
stated as I gave her a small smile and Harper nodded and wiped her eyes slowly.
âNooâ Safiya screamed. âKaiden, how could you say that to your own daughter? How could you willingly separate my daughter for me?â
âHold it right there Safiyaâ I stated firmly. âHarper is quite old enough to decide what she wants and unlike you I realize that. Iâm not going to manipulate my daughter to satisfy my own claimsâ. I stated and Safiya stumbled backwards in shock.
I turned to Harper. âHarper honey please give mummy and daddy some privacyâ. I stated with a smile and Harper nodded and walked out.
I used my wolf senses to check if she was truly gone and when I was certain I turned to Safiya.
âKaiden please talk to Harper, she canât do this to me, Iâm her motherâ she croaked out as she sobbed softly.
âThereâs nothing I can do Safiya. This is where your terrible behavior leads you. You pushed your daughter away with your own handsâ.
âI canât and I will not do anything to influence Harper because that would make me a manipulator.
Thatâs the difference between you and meâ.
âIf only you werenât so blinded by your so-called revenge. You would have seen that you were hurting the people around you that loved youâ.

âI have always tolerated you Safiya but this time you have gone too farâ. âKaiden, pleaseâ she sobbed and I shook my head.
âItâs too late Safiya, our relationship is too broken to be mended and I know you can never repent.
You have proved that to me countlessly and your act at the pack council proved it allâ.
âWhat I didnât think was that you would stoop so low to use your own daughter in your own games.
That was so despicable, even for youâ I stated.
I gave her one last glance and walked away. One thing was clear: Safiya and I could never have a happy marriage.
