Mates 92
Rejected Mate's Redemption (Freda and James)
Chapter 92
FREDA WHITLOCK
We arrived home after dinner at the restaurant where Kaiden unexpectedly showed up with Harper.
That man certainly had a bad timing for things.
I glanced at Lyra as we all walked into the house. She was still acting strange but I wasnât even bothered. If she couldnât tell me what was eating her up, I shouldnât care either.
All she was just conveying to me was that she didnât trust me and that hurt me. I brushed all thoughts of Lyra aside as my mind replayed the dinner at the restaurant. I noticed how Kaiden was looking at me when he thought I wasnât looking.
To be honest, I only listened half heartedly to all the
conversations Cole was trying to engage me in. My wolf wasnât helping either.
All through the dinner, she was just purring in delight at the sight of having her mate so near and it took every ounce of self control not to scream in frustration. She was really being unbelievable these days.
Either way, I wasnât going to act on impulse or let myself be deceived by Kaiden again. Gone was the trusting Freda, right here was a strong, independent woman who wasnât going to bow down to any man.
Who knows, maybe all this was all part of Kaidenâs plan, if not

for the fact that he brought Harper along, I would have accused him of stalking me because he was always showing up
wherever I was.
Especially since Cole and the others showed up. He must be up to something and if he thought he could convince me to drop the idea of Safiya apologizing to me, then he was so wrong.
Safiya had hurt me badly and I wasnât going to consider the fact that weâre related because she clearly didnât think of that before she ordered me to kneel down in front of the whole pack! In the presence of Kaiden who watched and did nothing. A**hole!
âWow, that was the best dinner Iâve ever hadâ, Gina gushed out excitedly and I had almost forgotten they had followed us. Thanks to Kaiden distracting me the whole time.
âFreda, I think we would visit you often, Iâm falling in love with this place, itâs so beautiful and serene here, I wonder why it hasnât become a popular tourist attractionâ. Elle said as she plopped down on the couch and patted her belly as she sighed in contentment.
âYeah, itâs quite hidden most people usually pass this place by without knowing that people live here,â I stated as I laughed. nervously. I just hoped Elle and Gina didnât post pictures of this place to attract more humans here because that would get me in trouble with the council.
âFreda, thank you for taking us out for dinner, we had a great timeâ. Cole said with a grin and I couldnât help but smile.
âItâs okay, I loved showing you guys around and itâs good to eat out sometimesâ I stated and everyone nodded in agreement.

âOkay, we are going to retire for the night. Good night Fredaâ Gina stated as she dragged a sleepy Elle to their room and I laughed at their actions.
âGood night, Fredaâ Cole said as he gazed deeply into my eyes. didnât know why but Cole had been looking at me a lot these days. I shook my head and smiled at him. âGord nightâ He left the room too.
I looked around the living room, Lyra had somehow disappeared from the room and I wasnât surprised. I was getting used to her new behaviour.
âCome on Cisco, letâs get you ready for bedâ I stated as I
grabbed Cisco and headed for the bathroom. Halfway through his bath, Cisco started to speak, again with the soap lather all over his adorable body.
âMummy, can I ask you a question?â Cisco asked as I applied shampoo on his hair. âYes, go ahead honeyâ I replied absentmindedly as I was quite focused on what I was doing.
âAre you going to forgive Harperâs mom?â He asked and I stiffened. âSafiya? Forgive Safiya Why did Cisco have to bring that up now.
Then I remembered how Harper had promised him earlier at the restaurant that Safiya would apologize. But if I knew Safiya well, she would do anything but apologize.
Safiya had done a lot of things to hurt me. Ever since I came back she had been looking for every possible way to taunt and shame me. Forgiveness couldnât come easily. Especially when she wasnât willing to repent for her actions.

âMummy, did you hear what I asked?â, Cisco stated as he peered up at me drawing me from my thoughts. âOh, sorry sweetheart, I was engrossed in my thoughtsâ.
âAs for your question, I will forgive Harperâs mom if she apologizes for her wrongdoingsâ. I replied.
âOkay mummyâ. Cisco replied and didnât ask more questions which I was grateful for.
Soon we were done and I tucked Cisco gently in his bed. After singing him his favorite lullaby and I was sure he had fallen asleep, I kissed his forehead and walked out, closing the door with a soft click.
I showered quickly and headed to my room where I picked my phone from the nightstand to check for any messages. I sat down on the bed and I scrolled through my phone.
I had a missed call from an unknown number. Curious, I dialed the number. âHello, you called this number?â I stated when the like got connected.
âYes, itâs meâ the person on the other side replied and I froze. I knew that voice, it was Kaiden. I was about to hang up when he stopped me.
âWait Freda, I know you want to hang up but please hear what I have to sayâ. He pleaded. âI donât want to hear what you have to say Kaiden. I donât want to hear anymore of your liesâ. I spat harshly.
âI know, I have done terrible things and I donât deserve your forgiveness but at least give me a chance to right my wrongsâ.
âAnd how do you plan to do that? How can you correct the

havoc that youâve caused?. Whatâs the right thing you think you can do Kaiden? Please enlighten meâ. I scoffed.
âSafiya is going to apologize to you at the pack council,
tommorow morningâ he stated and I froze.
âSafiya was going to do what?â!
