Mates 84
Rejected Mate's Redemption (Freda and James)
Chapter 84
KAIDEN STIRLING
I smiled for the umpteenth time as I thought of Fredaâs words. âHeâs just a friendâ. I laughed as I swirled in my chair. Fredal hadnât hooked up with anyone since she rejected me.
But the fact that she wasnât interested in the man didnât mean he wasnât interested in her. I saw the way he looked at her. That wasnât the way a friend looked at another friend. I clenched my jaw as my mood immediately soured.
Coming to a decision, I called one of my guards over. âKeep a close eye on Freda and herâ¦new friend. I want you to report every single thing to me, and make sure you do it discreetly. They mustnât be aware. Understood?â
âYes, Alphaâ he stated and bowed and left. It was clear that new friend of hers couldnât be trusted. I would never be at ease with the thought that he stayed in the same place as Freda.
I
I pushed the unpleasant thoughts behind me as I was beginning to seeth in anger andâ¦..jealousy. I remembered the way Freda smiled brightly at him. She never smiled that way when she was with me. But then Iâd never really given her a reason to smile.
I ignored my thoughts as I tried to focus on work, but I couldnât⦠concentrate. I finally gave up on working and I checked the time. Working hours were over. I sighed and grabbed my bag and headed home to face the biggest mistake of my life.

I walked into the house and Harper rushed to meet me. She had probably been waiting at the door.
I laughed at the thought. She was the only reason i didnât loathe coming home after work so much..
âDaddy youâre backâ she gushed out excitedly as she hugged. me. âYes, sweetheart, youâre daddy is backâ. I crouched down to her eye level and rubbed her hair affectionately and she smiled so brightly.
âHow was your day?â I asked as I carried her into the house. âIt was great, I did a lot of thingsâ. I smiled as I dropped her on the couch close to her toys she had sprawled all over the floor.
âThatâs goodâ I replied heartily and I glanced at Safiya who was seating opposite Harper with a blank expression on her face. She didnât even offer any greetings to her husband who was home after a long day.
Not like I expected her to anyway, I didnât regard her either. Two people could play this game.
âSweetheart, daddy needs to shower, when Iâm done we would catch up about all youâve done today. Okay?â
âOkay daddyâ she replied smiling. If she noticed the strange relationship between myself and Safiya she didnât mention it. She was also angry with her mother.
I sighed deeply and headed towards the direction of my room. Just as I turned, Safiya stopped me.
âKaiden we need to talkâ. I sighed in frustration.
I turned around. âWhat?â I spat harshly. Safiya looked a bit pale and she had lost weight a little but I couldnât care less. I already knew what was bothering her and I wasnât about to find a

am not apoloosing to Fredaâ she stated with such confidence Talmost laughed. I glanced at Harper hoping st wasnât going to witness another argument between her parents but she was too focused in her dolls to care Good
Okay you shoveled as looked at Safiya with a bored epressor Kelly Youre going to support me?â
She asked happy as her shoulders relaxed a little. I nodded.
âJust get ready to get arrested by the pack police, just know Iâm not going to meddle with it. Color drained from her face once again. If she thought I was going to support her, then she was so
She had gone too far, she had hurt all of us. I could have even overlooked what she did to me when she went around spreading rumors that I was a woman beater, but she had to drag Freda into it and make her kneel in front of the pack council for a crime she didnât commit just because of her jealousy
So someone call me a devil for deciding not to support my wife who was bent on making my life hell. She had crossed her limits this time, she should be ready to face the consequences.
I turned to head to my room when Safiya screamed out gaining the attention of Harper. I glared at her. âControl yourself woman, unless you want to sleep outside for the nightâ I warned in my Alpha tone. I was fed up of her tantrums. All I wanted was a home I could come back to in peace.
âOh, so youâre going to throw me out because of Freda? Youâre going to take Fredaâs side instead of your wife who is pregnant?

How many of you!â She scoffed and I groaned as I rubbed my temples in frustration.
If she thought she was going to blackmail me with my child then she was clearly fighting a lost cause, Just as I was about to speak she cut me off.
âYou knowâ she drawled out as she picked at imaginary dirt in her fingers. âRumors have been flying around that Freda brought a man home. I even saw them together earlier today. They looked soo good together. She stated.
âI wonder what people would say about her rejecting her mate and going for another man. But again, itâs not like you did any
better either.
I clenched my jaw. I knew this game she was playing. She wanted to rille me up so I would turn against Freda and come to her side.
She wanted to hurt me by saying it. But I wasnât going to stoop to her level I smirked and turned towards her as I looked directly into her eyes. âYou would have to try harderâ, Safiya I drawled.
âBecause I know more about that man than you doâ.
