I was in the office going through some documents. After everything, I decided to immerse myself with work at the office to take my mind off things. One thing was clear, I couldn’t stay in the same place with Safiya.

A stack of documents were in front of me and I sighed as I took the next batch of documents that needed my signature. This was better than being at home.

I was still immersed in my work when I heard a knock on the door. “Come in” I stated without looking up.

“Good day Alpha. I have a letter for you” my secretary said and I looked up from the documents I was signing.

“A letter?”I asked curiously and he nodded. I motioned for him to come closer and he did and dropped the letter on my desk.

“You may leave”, I stated, as my attention was on the letter. “Yes Alpha” he replied as he bowed and left.

I picked the letter and scanned it for any details of the sender. And right there at the far end of the letter was a small writing.

Trecognized that writing anywhere. ‘FREDA WHITLOCK’ was all that was written there but that was enough to send me sitting upright in my chair as I quickly ripped the envelope open, curious of the contents inside.

Inside was just an invitation card and I read it curiously and my eyes widened in surprise as I digested the details of it.

In it was a invitation to parents to witness an award ceremony for their kids and on the list of awardees, Cisco’s name was among and I shifted in my chair anxiously.

If what I was reading was correct, it means that Cisco would be given an award. My son woudl be awarded for being among the intelligent students in his class.

I couldn’t be more proud. This was my offspring. My son, I always knew he was a bright child but this exceeded my expectations.

Freda had once again surprised me by raising a genius like Cisco all my herself. I smiled brightly but my smile faded quickly as realization dawned on me.

It was stated here that it was mandatory for both parents of the awardees to be present, failure to do so would lead to

disqualification of chosen candidates,it was clearly stated in bold letters.

I checked the letter again. ‘Was it really Freda that sent it?’ I mean there was no other letter stating it was her asides her writing on the envelope.

But then no one would dare to prank an Alpha. Freda must have sent me the letter because she wanted me to attend.

The presence of both parents was required. She obviously didn’t want her son to be disqualified. If I knew Freda very well,she’d have hated to do this, she hated anything that had to do with

me.

But I was Cisco’s father, I couldn’t let him miss this great opportunity. I was in a state of dilemma and I didn’t realize that Safiya had walked in.

“What letter is that?” She asked as she glanced curiously at the letter in my hand, her voice bringing me back to reality. Safiya mustn’t find out about this, she would ruin everything.

“Nothing you should be concerned about” I spat harshly as I discreetly put the letter in my drawer.

“Well it concerns me, I am your wife, your luna” she stated as she crossed her arms.

“What do you want woman?”, I growled. Safiya was always testing my self control. “I asked you about the letter. Is it Freda? Is she sending you letters now?” She asked as she raised her eyebrows.

“It’s clear you just want to waste my time but I’m not going to let you test my patience today. So leave while I’m asking you nicely” I growled.

“Or what Kaiden?”, she yelled as she rushed forward towards me as she made to reach for the drawer but I pushed her back.

“Be grateful I’m considerate of my unborn child or else no one would spare you from my wrath”. I warned.

“It’s obvious it’s from Freda seeing how you quickly hid it when I asked, if its just any letter why can’t you let me see?” She asked suspiciously.

“Because it doesn’t concern you. Instead of wasting your time meddling in issues that don’t concern you,why don’t you use the time to win Harper’s favour back?”. I stated as I stood up and closed the distance between us.

“With that being said, Security” I yelled and two of my guards walked in. “Alpha” they greeted.

“Please escort my wife out and she is not to be allowed here without my permission in the future.

Do you understand?” I asked in my alpha tone. “Yes Alpha” they stated as the made to drag Safiya away.

“Kaiden” she screeched in disbelief. “You can’t do this to me, I’m your luna, don’t you dare touch me” she warned to the guards and they stood frozen for a minute.

“What are you doing? Take her away” I growled and they nodded and dragged Safiya away and her screams faded in the

distance.

I sighed as I walked back to my seat and retrieved the letter from the drawer. ‘Should I attend this function?’ I thought.

Considering I and Freda’s history together, this was clearly a bad idea as she despised me. She had clearly stated that that she wanted nothing to do with me and I should stay far away. from her and Cisco.

And with all what Safiya did and the incident at the pack council, I had no right to speak to Freda anymore.

But I couldn’t neglect that this now involved Cisco. I couldn’t hurt his feelings or deny him the right he deserved. I was so confused.

So at this time I did the only thing I did when I needed advice. I picked my phone and dialed a number and the line connected.

today?” The playful voice of my beta, Nicholas Brown was heard at the other side of the line.

“Now listen to me carefully” I replied ignoring his comment and I began to narrate my dilemma to him.
