Liam POV

He bounced his leg up and down in stress, finishing up the last questions of the Classification Test. His lip had been bitten raw, and the skin around his fingers were slightly bloody as he had used them as his chew toys to relieve his anxiety during the Test. The attendant had not noticed, so she had not brought him a stress toy, and he was now slightly regretting not asking for one. Talking was prohibited during the Test, and he really hadn't felt like getting in the slightest bit of trouble.

He had seen Charlie leave in a hurry, back hunched and eyes staring directly at the floor. He had wanted - he felt it deep in his bones - to help him, hold him, tell him it was gonna be okay. But he couldn't and it broke him. Would he ever be able to hold Charlie in his arms?

He let the results load, staring impatiently at the spinning wheel on the screen. He turned to Connor who was seated next to him, giving him a pleading look not to leave as he gathered his things. He mouthed to him, 'I'll wait outside', and hurried to leave as the woman came over to see why he hadn't left yet. She took one look at Liam and frowned when she saw his busted lip and nail biting, then she carefully approached him.

"Hi hun, do you need a stress ball or sensory toy? I know it's stressful, but everything will be fine." Liam shook his head and gave her a shy smile.

"I'll be okay, thank you." He kept his voice hush as to not disturb those around him. She gave him a reluctant nod and then headed back to her desk off to the corner of the room.

He gazed back at the computer and gulped as the results popped up on his screen.

Liam Greenlee

Age : 19

Gender : male

Classification

Caregiver (72%) , Handler (8%), Little (20%)

He sat in his chair, dumbly staring at his results with his lips parted, his breaths coming in ragged and scarce. He felt another panic attack coming up, and last time that happened, he had regressed. He couldn't regress here, not in front of all these people. Not in public, never in public, he prayed. Letting the results print as well as an official paper, he stuffed it into the envelope they were given and tried nonchalantly to get up, trying not to show how much this affected him.

He would lie, of course. Tell them all he was a caregiver. He would help those in need, those breaking down, those who needed hugs and reassurance.

Yeah..

He closed the Testing session after having ensured he had all the information, and headed out of the room, bag clutched tightly in his hand as he sped ahead to the exit of the Classification Centre. He bumped into someone and mumbled an apology before going back to walking, only to be stopped as the hand of the stranger caught his arm.

"Hey man, you okay?" Liam perked up at the familiar voice and softened when he saw Connor.

"Hey. Yeah, I'm fine. Sorry for running into you." Liam smiled, ruffling his hair and bringing his bag up to his shoulder as it had fallen a bit. Connor ended the conversation with the person he was talking to and came to join him as he walked out.

"You doin' okay, Li? You seem out of it."

"Yeah yeah, I'm fine. Just really really tired. What'd you end up classifying as?" He grinned to show Connor he was okay, but it was hard to keep up due to how forced it was.

"I got a Handler classification. I'm super surprised, to be honest. I never listened in class, do you have notes about what it means to be a handler 'n all that?" Liam laughed at his friend and punched him in the shoulder playfully.

"Yeah, of course. I'll send them to you once I get back home, 'mkay?"

"Yessir." Connor looked around and grins once he saw his girlfriend's car, then bid Liam farewell, leaving him all alone with his thoughts, which were hyperactive and scary.

He saw Erica talking to friends and sighed as he pulled his hood over his head, not wanting her to notice him at all.

That did not work.

She came over and smiled brightly, sitting next to him and acting all flirtatious while all he wanted to do was run home and binge eat ice-cream. He couldn't deal with her antics right now. Not now, not ever.

She's had a crush on him since he knew her, and while the school didn't explicitly know he was gay, he had made it pretty clear that he was not interested at all in her. He didn't know where she had even picked up the cues that he could be remotely interested.

Once she realized he wasn't gonna make small talk, she spoke up. "Soooo, what'd you get? I bet you got a dom, huh? Well I got sub, so maybe we could match! I knew it, we were made for each other." She hugged his arm and he couldn't help but inch away from her, awkwardly removing his arm from her grasp. She pouted at him as if to be cute, though there were flirtatious undertones.

"I got caregiver. Where'd you get the idea that I would be a dom?" He

looked at her, slightly dumbfounded and tilted his head slightly. "Erica, I think you and me need to have a chat, yeah?" His tone was icy cold as he turned his body towards her, making sure to keep his emotions in check so he didn't blow up on her.

She stared at him before pursing her lips and giving him a shy smile. "Yeah?"

"I'm not interested in you. Not in the slightest bit. I would really appreciate it if you'd stop trying to get in my pants everyday." She stared at him, her cheeks flaming red and her eyes staring into his entire soul. He stared right back.

"Oh y-yeah! Totally.." She swallowed and looked away, spotting her group of friends and making an excuse as she hurried away from him, no doubt scowling considering the reaction her friend group gave her.

He sighed and continued to wait for Killian to come pick him up. He had promised to walk with him to digest whatever Classification he got. The more he thought about it, the more he realized that his Classification may actually come in handy.

He could know what his little could want in little space, even bond with his little in a way most caregivers could not. He could understand them more, and provide the best care possible.

He was a bit nervous to discuss with Killian, but his mother had urgent paperwork to do, and she was making him a meal, one of which he caught a whiff of before leaving the house. It smelled divine. His mom was the best cook he had ever met, and the kindest. Suck it, Gordon Ramsey.

He sighed and ran a hand through his hair, then scratched the nape of his neck in an attempt to calm down.

Someone placed their hand on his shoulder, and he jumped, looking up to see Kilian, smiling down at him.

"Hey lil' bud. All set?" He helped him up and took notice of how tired and upset he seemed to be, realizing he was deep in thought. Killian seemed saddened by Liam's lack of focus and overall sad demeanor, a frown etched on his face. "You look very nervous and upset. Is everything okay?"

Liam mutters a 'yeah', not daring to look up and keeps his eyes glued to the floor, the words not daring to come out as he felt a wave of overwhelming feelings grasp at his head. He took in a deep shaky breath, and accidentally let out a small sob when exhaling. Killian notices and slowly brings him in for a long papa bear hug, petting his hair and just holding him there. He felt his head get fuzzy again, eyes drooping a little and lips parting in contentment

"You have nothing to worry about, Liam. I'll repeat this; we are never going to judge, alright? Let's head out, I've got a small surprise for you." When Killian tried to move away, Liam shook his head and grasped at his shirt on either side, keeping him in a firm hug as he took in the warmth and safety that Killian's hugs provide. He nuzzled his face into his chest, letting out a small whine as Killian tried to move away once again. "I promise you can let go, I'm not leaving you, lil' bud."

He nodded and held out his hand, hoping Killian would hold hands with him, just as they did when they were younger. He smiled and held on to Liam's hand firmly, in a way to remind Liam that he was not going anywhere. That only seemed to further the fuzzy state of mind that Liam was feeling, meaning only one thing. He was publicly regressing, and felt as though there was nothing to do about it.

He unconsciously shuffled closer and made sure to snuggle under the crook of Killian's arm, finding comfort there as well, but not nearly as much as the bear hugs he kindly provided. Liam just wanted to bask in those hugs for hours. He whimpered a little and looked up at Killian with big doe eyes.

Killian chuckled and fluffed his hair. "Wanna talk about your Classification, bud?"

Liam sighed, frowning a bit as he handed him the envelope. The person he wanted to be accepted by the most was Killain, and he wanted him to be the first to know. He just wanted some stability, and Killian provided just that.

Killian looked down at the envelope and understood the gesture, opening it up and reading over the report. He smiled and leaned down to kiss Liam's forehead.

"Lil' man, this is awesome!" Killian seemed proud and happy, which lifted Liam's spirits by a ton. His doe eyes widened a little bit before he let out a small giggle, hugging Killian's side and marching next to him proudly while looking straight ahead instead of at the floor.

"I was thinking that.. maybe, with the little classification, I may be able to understand my little better if I slip into little space. I may be able to give them what they need.." He trailed off and looked up at Killian, who was smiling brightly and held pride in his eyes.

"You're so smart, lil' dude. You're gonna do great, and anyone who has you is gonna be the luckiest little ever. Or who knows, maybe a double Classification like you." He winked as they turned onto a somewhat busy market street - despite the late hours - and realized that Killian was bringing him to his favourite ice cream parlor. He brightened and looked over at Killian, smiling and hugging his side since he was considerably shorter.

"You know just how to cheer me up, don't you, captain?" Liam was once again feeling himself, giving Killian a goofy smirk before jumping up and tapping him on the head. "Why did the world make you so tall," he grumbled, flicking his side and being his overall playful self.

Killian laughed and headed into the ice cream shop, smiling in delight as Liam picked the biggest cup there was and filled it with his three favourite flavours; strawberry, raspberry, and blueberry.

"Look at me being so healthy." Liam held up the cup triumphantly and grinned. Killian shook his head and snorted before paying. The lady at the cash register giggled and eyed the both of them.

"You two make a great couple!" They stared at each for a bit, Liam with a spoonful of ice cream in his mouth, and Killian hovering over the paypad with his card.

"Sorry, ma'am. We're actually cousins." Her face paled and her expression morphed into one of horror as she started profusely apologizing, saying it was a mistake and prayed she didn't make us uncomfortable. "It's okay, mistakes happen, ma'am!" Killian grinned his killer grin and gently took the receipt, reassuring the woman that it was alright as she continued to apologize, then bid her good day.

As they headed back, Liam frowned a little, looking down at his ice cream and seeing the strawberry flavour amongst the yummy goodness. He stopped in his tracks, still frowning and staring at the cup rather intensely. Killian stopped a couple steps in front of him, tilting his head and coming up to him. "Everything okay?"

Liam blushed and couldn't help but hide a small smile. "This is Charlie's favourite flavour." His voice was very low as he nodded to himself, then looked up at Killian and grinned nervously.

"Hey hey, how come I didn't know you liked someone?" Killian gave him a disapproving look, but Liam knew well enough that it was teasing.

"Well, yeah.. I've liked him since we were kids." Liam took a second to ponder over his words before continuing with the flow of traffic on the sidewalk. "I remember, when we were kids, I would always get him a cone of ice cream, and he would always choose strawberry." Liam smiled genuinely, blushing even more intensely as he recalled the memory. "He's just so handsome, so cute, and so- ugh! I can't even explain it." He looked up at Killian who sported a knowing smile, as well as a very delighted twinkle in his eye.

"How come you haven't asked him out?"

Liam frowned a little. "Well, that's the thing.. he's not really touchy, and I really don't wanna ruin anything. I mean- I've seen him looking at me sometimes, blushing and turning away, but-" Killian put a finger up to his mouth to stop him, and Liam gave into the urge and bit it.

While moving his finger away from Liam with a blink, he snorted and faced forward. "It sounds like it's about time for you to ask him out."

Liam nodded, keeping his eyes on the strawberry portion of his ice cream, not daring to look away, as if that wonderful memory would be gone.

He came to one conclusion, on this night.

He loved Charlie very much.
