delicate

After he stopped asking annoying questions in the car because I wasn't answering, he turned on the radio to a station that played constant 80's music. Before getting out of the car, I called Caroline to make sure she wasn't here. She had left just before we got here. While making the call, Kai stared at me like an impatient child.

I stopped at the end of the hallway and stared at the door. My stomach sank.

"PTSD?"

I looked at Kai. "Shut up." I looked at the door again.

"Why are we just standing here?"

"I don't know if anyone's in there. If they are, they'll kill you. You know that just as well as I do."

"Not really. I've known you for like a week."

I rolled my eyes and turned to face him. "But you've known Damon way longer. You've probably been able to witness his homicidal tendencies as well as his short temper. You can understand that if you die, she does. And if that happens, I will drag your ass back here from hell myself, got it?"

He nodded once, a grin on his face. "Yes, ma'am."

I turned back to the door and started walking. He followed a few steps behind me. I opened the door. There was no one except my mom. She's asleep. Which is the best thing that could happen today.

Kai shut the door behind him. He walked to the other side of the bed. He looked down at my mom. He tilted his head. "Mommy dearest?"

I felt my heart jump. "I said no questions."

He looked at me. He stared at me for a few minutes. It was a challenging look. I felt the intensity of it through my entire body. It settled just below my stomach.

"Can you just do it so we can get through with this?"

He raised his eyebrows, "You're really uptight. When's the last time you had sex?"

I rolled my eyes and walked over to stand next to him. He stared down at me, his eyes boring into mine. "Just do the spell."

He stepped closer, tilting his head. The amusement faded from his expression. I pulled the gun out quickly and pressed it against his body. I cocked it.

"Do it."

He narrowed his eyes as his lips parted. It may be one of the hottest things I've ever seen. I can admit that, albeit shamefully.

"What the hell?"

I didn't have to look over to see that Damon and Stefan were both here now. Damon's anger was flooding the room as was Stefan's. I rolled my eyes and looked at them.

"What is he doing here?!" Damon's loudmouth was going to bring attention. And a gun's not? I ignored my own logic.

"Helping," Kai answered.

"Right," Damon retorted. "Of course."

I looked at Kai. "Do it."

"Touch her, and you die," Damon interrupted.

Kai responded to Damon as he stared at me. "If I don't, I'll die. I would much rather let Evelyn get whatever the hell she wants and die than to listen to you and die."

I tilted my head. "Ten seconds."

He grabbed my mom's hand. "Put the gun down."

I uncocked it and lowered it. He nodded once and then turned to my mom. He held her hand between both of his. I turned to face the Salvatores.

"How do you know this isn't going to make it worse?"

"Taking away the magic will stop it. You said so yourself." I glanced at my mom to see a dim red glow surrounding her and Kai's hands.

"Done." I looked up at his face. He stepped back and turned to face me. "Can we go now?"

"We?" Damon asked.

Before I could answer, Kai did. "Yes, we. Because we had a deal." He looked at me, meeting my gaze. "Isn't that right, buddy?" The implications of the nickname were deafening.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Damon questioned.

"What was your end of the deal, Evelyn?" Stefan asked.

I didn't want to answer. I kept staring at Kai. The menacing grin on his face made me want to punch him. What's stopping me? I turned to face them. "Where's Caroline?"

"We can't find her," Damon answered. "That's why we left earlier. She's missing. We were trying to find you to help look for her, but you're obviously busy being a -"

"We need your help finding her."

"She answered when I called her. She left here twenty minutes ago."

Damon shifted his weight from one foot to the other. "I don't suppose you asked where she was going."

"I didn't care. I don't care, actually. She-"

He waved his hand, "Yeah, whatever. I don't care. Call her and see where she is."

I furrowed my eyebrows. "No. You call her."

"She won't answer me. Call her. Now."

I pulled my phone out of my pocket and called Caroline. After she didn't answer, I put my phone away.

"Can we go now? I have things to do."

I looked at Kai. Before I could speak, I was interrupted. "Not until you tell us your end of the deal."

I looked at Damon. "I don't have to tell you anything."

"He could kill you."

"So could you."

He looked at Stefan before stepping away. Stefan took a step closer. "He's a murderer, Evelyn. And he's a sociopath so he has no problem killing you."

I looked at Kai. "Are you going to kill me?"

He shook his head. "No."

I looked at Stefan. "See? And even if he does kill me, it won't matter because then you'll have even more motivation to kill him than you already do. Either way, you get what you want."

"Yeah, I wouldn't kill her unless I had to. And I don't believe I'll want to kill her. At least not until after we -"

I grabbed his arm. "He's not killing me. You can stop worrying." I dropped my hand. "We have to go, and so do you."

Kai walked behind me as we walked out of the room. Stefan grabbed my hand, and I turned to face him. He stepped closer, staring into my eyes.

"What was your end of the deal?"

I stepped closer. "Do you trust me?"

He stared at me for a minute. "Yes."

"Then let me deal with it."

"Evelyn -"

"I'll be fine."

His lips parted. He took a few seconds. He nodded. He looked down at my hand as I handed him the gun. He took it reluctantly. His eyes found mine again. I pulled my hand from his.

I walked beside Kai to the elevator. I could feel his eyes on me. I ignored it, staring at the floor as we walked.

The drive to his apartment was filled with his horrible music. I held on so tightly to the steering wheel that the blood had drained from my hands. I looked at him as I parked.

He unbuckled. "What?"

I moved my hands to the bottom of the steering wheel. "You don't even know me."

He looked confused. "I'm sure I'll get to know you really well." He leaned forward, his arm resting on the console. He reached over and turned the key, shutting off the engine. He looked into my eyes. "Don't be scared, Evelyn." He lowered his voice to a whisper, "I'll be gentle."

I'm sure he can hear my heart beating against my ribcage, trying to break free. My mouth is dry, but between my thighs feel like the ocean.

A smile formed on his lips. "At first, anyway."

My breath caught in my throat. I want him. But I don't want to want him. He's a bad person, and he's hurt the people I love. He's hurt me. What's going to stop him from doing it again? Nothing can because no one knows where we are. I'm human, and I have no way to defend myself against him.

He sat back and moved his hand to the door. He opened his door and stepped out. He shut the door. I looked at the wheel. He took the keys. I looked at the windshield. I'm actually about to do this. I took a deep breath before getting out. He was holding the door open for me. I walked in.

As we made our way to his apartment, it felt like I was walking to my death. I felt guilty for feeling attracted to him.

I stepped into the apartment after he opened the door. He walked in after me. I turned and watched him shut and lock the door. He tossed the keys onto the table by the door. He turned to face me. I felt my heart beat faster again.

He took a few steps closer. With every step, my breathing became more uneven. I looked at his chest for a few seconds, then moved my stare back to his eyes. He stopped a foot from me.

"Relax. It's going to make this a lot easier."

"Maybe for you."

He tilted his head. He moved his hand to the side of my face, pushing my hair behind my ear. His touch was light as he dragged his fingers along my jaw, moving to my chin. He tilted my head up and moved his eyes back to mine.

"I could make this the worst or best experience of your life, sweetheart. If you make this hard for me, I'll make it ten times harder for you. I get that you hate me or whatever, but I don't really care. It doesn't really bother me."

"I don't just hate you; I don't trust you."

He looked at my lips as he talked. "You don't trust me to do what?"

"To not kill me."

He smiled wider. "If I wanted to kill you, I would have. There's nothing stopping me, Evelyn." He looked me in the eyes again. "But I would much rather have you alive. It's better for both of us."

"How is my existence better for you?" The answer to that has already been made apparent to me.

The tips of his fingers explored more of my exposed skin, running down my neck. His eyes followed the movement of his fingers. "You remember the party. I could've easily convinced you to have sex with me, but I just made you cum instead. I get off on you getting off."

"Oh." I couldn't form coherent thoughts as he touched me.

He looked into my eyes again. "I know you don't want me. I'm fine with that, but you're not. You think I'll hurt you or kill you, and it's making you really tense. It would be easy for me to just let you leave, but I prefer to do things the hard way. So, in order for me to get you to relax and trust me, I'm going to make you cum."

I didn't know how to respond. "What?" His fingers were still dancing on my skin, making it harder for me to stand.

He leaned down and kissed me. His lips moved slowly against mine. His hands grabbed my hips. I planted my hands against his chest as he pulled me closer. I could feel how hard he was. His hard on was pressing against my stomach through his jeans. I moaned into the kiss. I slid my hand to the side of his neck.

I pushed up onto my tiptoes and leaned into him, kissing him harder. He slid his hand to my ass, squeezing it as he held me against him. I wrapped my arms around his neck. He slid his hands to my thighs and lifted me. I wrapped my legs around his waist. His hands rested on the underside of my thighs.

He started walking. A minute or so later, he laid me back on the bed. He started to pull away, but I grabbed his sides, pulling him onto me. He moaned. His hand pressed into the mattress beside my head. He lifted off of me and stared down at me. I opened my eyes. He was staring down at me. My breathing was heavy. I moved my hands to his face.

I stared at his lips. "Why'd you stop?"

"So I can take your pants off."

He moved off of me, sitting back on his knees. He unbuttoned my jeans. I raised up on my elbows and stared at his hands, watching as he moved off the bed. He pulled them off of me then took off my panties. He knelt down in front of the bed and slid his arms under my legs, putting them on his shoulders.

I gasped softly as I watched him kiss my thighs slowly, leading up to my pussy. He stopped just before reaching it. He kissed down my other thigh. I fisted the bed sheet in my hands.

"Kai." I looked into his eyes.

"Evelyn." His voice was soft and nurturing.

He ghosted his lips over my pussy. I whined. He grabbed my thighs, his hands pressing against the inside, and pulled them apart further. He pressed soft, light kisses across my pussy. I exhaled slowly, trying to keep myself from crumbling completely.

He slid his tongue to my clit, circling it. I moaned. I tried to press my thighs together, but he pulled harder. My breathing was labored as I forced myself to not grind against his face. He covered my pussy with his mouth, pressing his tongue flat against me.

I laid back, arching my back off the bed. I shut my eyes tightly. "Oh my God!" I pulled the sheets.

He moaned, sending vibrations through my entire body. I moved my hand to his hair, sliding my hand to the back of his head. I pushed him closer and rocked my hips against his face. "Kai," I moaned.

He moved his tongue slowly, making me squirm beneath him. I moved my other hand to my mouth, suffocating my loud noises. He stopped immediately, making me whine.

"I need to hear you, baby, move your hand."

I moved my hand off of my mouth, reaching for his hair. He started eating me out again. I gripped his hair as I pushed the back of his head. I grinded against his face. His fingers were digging deep into my thighs. I gasped as he sucked harder.

"Kai, I can't-" I was cut off by a moan that slipped past my lips.

He moved his tongue faster, circling my clit. I moved my hand from the back of his head to his shoulder. I dug my nails into his skin. I felt tears slip from my eyes as I came. He moaned as he collected the cum with his tongue. I let go of his hair, moving my hand to my stomach. I moved my other hand to his wrist.

I opened my eyes and stared at the ceiling. I tried to catch my breath. My head felt light, and exhaustion was beginning to kick in. I felt him pull my legs off of his shoulders.

"Evelyn's phone."

I sat up and looked at him. He was holding my phone, to the side of his face, listening intently with a grin on his face. I got up and walked over to him. I grabbed my phone and put it to the side of my face. "What?" Kai walked behind me and grabbed me by the hips, pulling me against him.

"You're still with Kai." Damon seemed annoyed and angry.

"We had a deal." I grabbed Kai's wrist as he wrapped his arm around my stomach, holding me against him. He started kissing my neck. His other hand slipped between my thighs.

"Yeah, you never said what you had to do."

I leaned back into Kai. "I was..." I breathed out shakily as Kai's fingers circled my clit slowly. "What do you want?"

"We need to talk to you."

"About what?" I gasped as he slid his fingers into me.

"Are you okay?"

I bit my tongue to stop myself from moaning. "I'm fine." Kai held me against him tighter. "I'll be there soon." He ended the call. I tightened my hold on my phone. "Kai, please..."

He sucked on my neck. He grazed his teeth across the spot. He moved his lips next to my ear as he pumped his fingers in and out of me quickly. "I didn't say we were done, Evelyn," He whispered.

"I have to..." I moaned. "I have to leave."

He added another finger, and I pushed up on my toes. He groaned as I rubbed against his cock. "You want to leave right now?" He paused his fingers, making me whine. "You don't want to cum?"

I shook my head frantically as I lowered myself back onto my feet, pushing his fingers into me further. "I do."

"You do what?"

I shuddered. "I want to cum." I dropped my phone and moved my hand to his, pushing his palm against my pussy. "Please."

He curled his fingers inside of me. A guttural moan slipped past my lips. He curled his fingers again, hitting the spot inside of me that made my legs shake. I moaned as I leaned forward. I bit down on my bottom lip. He moved his free hand to my chest, pulling me back against him. He slid his hand to my throat, squeezing gently. I gasped.

He curled his fingers again. "Right there?"

I pushed against his hand. "Mhm."

"Use your words, baby."

"Yes," I moaned. "Right there."

He moved his fingers faster, curling them. "Cum for me, Evelyn."

I gasped at how my body commanded his orders. I came around his fingers. He pushed them into me harshly, making me scream. It made me feel like I was floating. The mixture of pain and pleasure felt like pure ecstasy flooding my brain. Every inch of my body felt alive.

"Now do you trust me?" he whispered.

I couldn't manage to get out any words. I felt lifeless as I came down from the high. "Mmm."

He kissed my neck softly. He pulled his fingers out of me, and I whined. I opened my eyes as much as I could and looked at him.

"I have to go."

"You can't even walk."

I hummed in response as my eyes closed. "I can't stay."

"You can call someone but you're not leaving by yourself."

"So, you take me home," I mumbled.

"No. I have better things to do. Why don't you just stay here?"

"Because you're a murderer and then Stefan will be mad at me."

"He'll get over it, and I'm not going to murder you." He moved his hands to my hips, holding them tightly as he walked me to his bed.

I opened my eyes and stared at the bed. "I have to wash your germs off of me."

"Are you five? Just lay down."

I leaned back into him and grabbed his hands. "Pleeeease."

He sighed, his breath fanning my neck. He wrapped his arms around my waist and lifted me off the floor. He carried me to the bathroom, setting me back down. I turned to face him. He put his hands on my waist and walked me backward to the shower. He moved his hands to the bottom of my shirt and took it off of me. He took off my bra. His eyes lingered longer than I thought they would.

He turned on the shower. I gasped feeling the warm water flow over me, soaking my hair then my body. I opened my eyes and looked at him.

"I'll be back in a few minutes."

I tilted my head. "I'll be here."

He rolled his eyes before walking away.

While he was gone, I managed to wash my body before he came back. He sat clothes on the sink and held up a towel after turning off the water. I stepped out slowly. My legs could barely support my weight as they shook. I took the towel and wrapped it around myself.

He stared at me. His brows were pinched together, and his jaw was clenched.

"Are you mad?"

He inhaled deeply. "No."

"You look mad."

"I'm not mad. I'm frustrated."

"Why? Because we didn't have sex? We could've had sex. We can still have sex."

"No, it's not-" He sighed. "Just get dressed and go to sleep."

I furrowed my brows. "Why won't you tell me what's wrong?"

"Because nothing's wrong."

I was too exhausted to deal with something like this. "Okay."

He walked out of the bathroom, leaving the door cracked. I dried off. My hair was still damp but I didn't care. I lifted the panties that were on top of a shirt. They're from the party. I tried not to feel too weird about it. I pulled them on before grabbing the shirt. I pulled it over my head. It was big on me, but if I raised my arms, it would raise to my stomach. I looked at it through the mirror. It was black a faded Rolling Stones logo.

I turned off the light as I walked out of the bathroom. I stopped. He left his room. The light was turned off, and the bed was made. It's hard to imagine Kai being considerate because he isn't considerate. He's a sociopath.

I walked to the bed and laid down. I pulled the blanket over my body and laid my arms over it. I stared at the ceiling. I felt a sudden sense of loneliness overtake me.

I felt like I could cry just thinking. Maybe being alone right now isn't the best idea. My only option for being with someone is Kai. I don't trust him enough to be near me when I'm sleeping. I trust him enough to sleep with him, but that's the deepest part of our relationship. It's our relationship.

We have a relationship now? I felt nauseous thinking about it. He's a bad person and he's killed people. He's hurt my friends. How do my feelings overshadow that? How could I let them? It's not like I'm in love with him though. This is just sex. And it could possibly save my mom's life.

I rolled to my side and closed my eyes. Sleeping won't fix it but it will make me feel better.
