I brought the glass to my lips, prepared to take a drink, when I felt his arms wind around my waist as he pressed his body against mine. He kissed my neck, moaning softly. He slid his hand in my shirt, resting on my stomach.
I leaned back into him. His hand that wasn't sliding to my chest was inching down my stomach. He pushed his hand into my panties, sliding two fingers inside me swiftly, making me gasp.
"Oliver."
He kept kissing my neck slowly, humming to answer me.
My eyes fluttered shut as he pumped his fingers in and out of me slowly. I gripped the edge of the sink tighter. His other hand palmed my boob as he rolled my nipple between his fingers slowly.
I exhaled sharply as my brows pulled together and my mouth hung open. I rocked my hips forward into his hand, pushing his fingers in me as deep as they could go. I cried out as he curled his fingers slowly. I tensed around his fingers involuntarily as I came.
He moved his hand from my chest to my stomach, keeping me back against him. He pulled his fingers out of me and slid them to my clit, swirling his fingers around it slowly, pulling whines and moans from my throat.
"Did you sleep okay?"
I nodded slowly. "Mhm."
He kissed my neck gently, "Good." A moan spilled from my lips as he pulled his hand away. He brought his fingers to my mouth, rubbing his fingertips against my lips before pressing his fingers flat against my tongue. "Suck."
I wrapped my lips around his fingers and sucked on them, cleaning myself off of him. He pulled his fingers from my mouth then grabbed my hips. I turned to face him as I opened my eyes. He leaned me back against the counter then moved his hands to mine.
"Happy birthday." He kissed me softly then rested his head against mine.
"Thank you."
He kissed me again. "What do you want to do today?" He pulled back, keeping his hands on mine.
"Leave."
He tilted his head, "Evelyn."
I smiled. "I'm kidding." I stepped closer to him, closing the distance between our bodies and staring up at him. "I don't care what we do today just as long as you're with me."
He smiled as he kissed me.
...
After getting a shower, we got ready to leave. I didn't have to do any work because he dressed me, then did my hair. For most of the day, I showed him around town, wasting time until the inevitable party Caroline was throwing for me.
We walked into the Grill and sat at a booth in the corner, joining Stefan. I was sitting on the inside, next to Oliver. The unusually busy restaurant was starting to make me feel disoriented. Oliver kissed me before following Stefan to the bar to refill our drinks.
I looked away from them, moving my stare to the seat across from me. I looked back at the door, the sight of who was standing near it freezing my attention.
Kai's eyes were glued to mine, taking in as much of me as I was him. With everything that's changed, he looks the same. I couldn't tell how much he had seen, but if he had been there long enough, he would've seen the kiss.
Why does that make me feel disappointed?
A smile formed on his lips. It made my chest feel tight. I smiled back at him. I took a breath as he walked over. He sat across from me. I gripped the edge of my seat, feeling like my ring was cutting off circulation.
We stared at each other for a minute, both of us unsure of what to say. His focus shifted to the guys at the bar. "Who is he?" He looked at me.
I took a second before answering. "His name's Oliver. He's my... fiance."
His expression was solid, not telling of any emotion. "Fiance." His tone, however, told a different story.
I looked over at Oliver. He and Stefan were deep in a conversation, fully unaware of who I was speaking to.
"He doesn't seem very attentive."
I looked at him. "And you seem jealous."
A smirk played on his lips. "I didn't think you'd be so easily affected by what I thought."
I opened my mouth to speak, then scoffed. I looked over at Oliver, who was staring at me now, along with Stefan. I looked at Kai again. "I'm not doing this with you."
"Why? Because your boyfriend's watching."
"Fiance."
"Whatever you say, baby."
I sat back, "Why do you like bothering me so much?"
"Because I know how to get under your skin, and it's such a satisfying feeling, Evelyn."
I tilted my head, "The only satisfaction I'll feel is when I rip your heart out."
His smile widened. "And you can keep it forever because it's yours."
I tried to keep myself from smiling, but it was impossible. Seeing his smile felt like strings were being pulled to make me reflect it. I shook my head.
He looked over at Oliver and Stefan. "Does he know?" He looked at me again, his gaze bleeding into mine, robbing me of the ability to speak for a moment.
"No." I tilted my head, "It didn't feel like a necessary conversation."
He smiled. "Really? Four years of your life wasn't a necessary conversation with your serious boyfriend."
"If you say boyfriend one more time, I'll cut out your tongue. And yes. I don't really like talking, or thinking, about you." I sat up straighter, lowering my voice. "You're a part of my life I don't want to remember. And honestly, if I had a choice, I'd take away every memory with you in it."
There was a wall between us, keeping me from reading his expression. "And what about everything here? Or the fact that you can't die? Was that a necessary conversation?"
I moved my hands to the table, "No. Bringing him here was the last thing I wanted. He brought me back here to see Caroline. I had no say in this trip."
"So he forced you to stay here?"
Arguing with him wasn't worth my energy. I looked over at Oliver and Stefan. They were staring at each other while they talked about something. I looked at Kai again. "If I had refused, I would've had to give him a reason, and I make it a priority not to lie to him."
He smiled, "But you are lying to him."
"I'm not lying to him, I'm protecting him. I'll do whatever I have to in order to do that, which means staying the hell away from you."
He nodded, "Fine."
"I'm serious, Kai. If he gets dragged into whatever any of you have going on, or if you even get within ten feet of him, I'll make sure you're in a prison world faster than you can call me baby again."
He smirked as he sat back. "You branded me onto your body, Evelyn. There's no way in hell you're able to keep yourself away from me."
I rolled my eyes as I moved out of the booth. I walked to the bar, stopping beside Oliver. He turned to face me, putting his hand on my arm. "Hey."
"Can we go?"
"Yeah." He furrowed his brows, "Is something wrong?"
I looked over to where I was sitting, and Kai was gone. I looked at Oliver again. "I just want to go."
He moved his hand to mine, holding it gently. "Okay."
We both looked at Stefan. "Will you still be at the party?"
I tilted my head. "I'll let you know." I looked at Oliver. "I'll be outside."
I kissed him softly before pulling away from him and making my way outside. I took a deep breath as I started walking down the street. I crossed my arms.
Letting him get to me is the last thing I want. It's the last thing I need. I'm supposed to be enjoying this trip. Now I'm in a bad mood because of the guy who pushed me out of the town.
"Evelyn." Oliver walked up beside me and put his hand on the small of my back. I stopped walking and he moved to stand in front of me. He put his hands on my hips and I looked up at him. "Do you feel okay?"
"Not really."
He shook his head once, "What's wrong?"
I put my hands on his arms. "I just don't feel great. I don't want to be..." I sighed. "I want to just be with you for a while."
He pulled me closer and I wrapped my arms around him as he hugged me tightly. I held him tighter, closing my eyes for a moment. He rested his head on mine. "I'm sorry, sweetheart." He moved his hand to the back of my head.
...
I sat down at the end of the bed, holding my heels. I stared at the floor, debating on putting them on.
"We don't have to go." Oliver stated as he walked toward me.
I shut my eyes as I took a breath. "I know." I opened my eyes again. "But I want to." I looked up at him as he stopped in front of me.
"Are you sure?"
I nodded, "Yeah."
"Well, in that case..." He got down on one knee and held out his hand.
I smiled as I put a shoe in his hand. He smiled back at me as he gently put my shoes on. He looked into my eyes again as he slid his hands to my thighs. I moved my hands to his face.
"I love you."
"Then kiss me."
He grabbed my hands and stood up. I stood up and he pulled me closer. He moved his hands to my waist and I wrapped my arms around his neck. He pressed his lips against mine, kissing me slowly. He slid his arms around me, holding me tighter. He slid his tongue past my lips, rolling against mine.
I slid my hands to his face, pulling back from the kiss. I looked into his eyes, "We're going to be late."
He groaned as he looked at my lips. "Are you sure you don't want to just stay here?"
I laughed as I moved my hands to his. "Let's go." I pulled his hands away from my body and started walking backward to the door and pulling him with me.
"You look stunning, Evelyn." His eyes wandered to the short strapless red dress that was making it hard for me to breathe. His eyes moved back up to mine.
"You think so?"
He tilted his head, "Oh yeah. I'm having a really hard time not locking you in this house and giving you the best night of your life."
I laughed as I turned away from him.
...
I pulled back from the hug with Ric and took a step back.
"It's good to see you, Evelyn," Jo said as she wrapped her arm around Ric's.
I tilted my head, "I missed you guys."
They both smiled and glanced at each other. "We missed you," Ric answered.
Jo's gaze moved from me to the other side of the room. I followed her line of sight to Oliver. He was talking with Elena and Bonnie.
"So that's Oliver," Jo asked.
I looked at her. "Yeah."
"He's good, right," Ric wondered. "To you, I mean."
I nodded, "The best, actually."
I could see the temptation to bring up Kai in his eyes.
"Hey, Ev," Matt interrupted before either of them could bring up the devil.
I looked over at him, smiling. "Hey!" I offered Ric and Jo a smile before making my way over to Matt, meeting him by the fireplace. We hugged for a minute before putting a few feet of space between us.
"How are you?"
I tilted my head. "Great, actually. I have a bar, and a good boyfriend. I really enjoy my life." I shook my head, "I couldn't ask for anything better, really."
He smiled. "That's great. I'm glad to hear it."
I smiled, "What about you?"
He teetered his head back and forth for a second, "I could be better." He laughed breathily. "Work's really been piling up. Our legal consultant just quit a few weeks ago so it's been rough on everyone."
I tilted my head, "I could help you out while I'm in town if you want. It would give me something to do while Care steals Oliver."
"Are you sure?"
I nodded, "It's no problem."
He sighed a breath of relief. "That's... thanks, Evelyn."
I smiled, "Just call me whenever you need me."
He nodded. My eyes drifted away from him to Oliver. I started to look away, then I noticed he was now talking to Kai. The guy who I didn't want here. I looked at Matt again. "Can you give me a second?"
He nodded, "Yeah, sure."
I walked away from Matt, making my way over to Oliver and Kai. They both seemed to be enjoying the conversation, for whatever reason I couldn't fathom. Oliver looked at me and I looked at Kai. "What are you doing here?"
He tilted his head, "Having a conversation."
Oliver's hand pressed gently to my arm. "Ev, it's fine."
I looked at him. "No, it's not." I looked at Kai.
"I was just introducing myself and telling him how close we used to be."
I tilted my head, "I told you not to."
"Why," Oliver asked.
I looked at Oliver, unsure of how to answer him.
"It's a long story," Kai answered. "Which, I'm surprised Evelyn hasn't told you, considering how serious you two are."
I looked at Kai, "Shut up."
"I'm just trying to help your boyfriend get to know you. Wait," he laughed breathily as he moved his hand to his chest, "I meant fiance."
"What's he talking about, Evelyn?"
I looked at Oliver after a few seconds. I hate lying to him and keeping things from him, but this feels too heavy. "Nothing."
His gaze moved across my face, skating across my features. "Evelyn."
"Ask her about the tattoo."
I took a breath as I looked at Kai. "Stop."
"No, don't. What the hell are you talking about?"
Kai's smile turned malicious, breaking every piece of hope I had for him. "This is usually the part when she loses her mind and starts tearing people limb from limb." He looked at Oliver. "And that's not an exaggeration. Just ask Tyler."
The emotions running through me made it difficult to breathe. I was burning with anger.
There was a knock on the front door. Kai looked at me, "Speak of the devil."
I stopped biting my tongue and looked at Oliver. "We need to go."
He looked at me. The look on his face was something I hadn't seen before. Betrayal was shining from his eyes into mine.
"Wow," Tyler exclaimed as he waltzed into the house. After a few seconds I looked over to see him stop at the edge of the living room. His eyes moved to me. "Welcome home, Evelyn," he mocked. He scoffed after he looked at Oliver. His eyes landed on me again. "Are you still a homicidal bitch, or did you change?"
I pressed my hand against Oliver's chest, stopping him from moving toward Tyler. "He's not worth it."
Tyler laughed as he stepped closer. "That's not what you said last time."
"Okay," Caroline interrupted. "Let's not do this!" She looked toward me, then toward Tyler. "Either one of you can leave or you can calm down and take it to another room!"
"I'm not leaving until I know what the hell happened."
I looked at Oliver. "I will tell you everything, just not here."
"I can tell you exactly what happened," Tyler shouted.
I looked at him. Before I could speak, he was taking another step forward and staring at Oliver. "I slept with someone, and Evelyn took it upon herself to bring me so close to death that I was in intensive care for over half a year."
I felt enraged by what he was saying. "Unless you want me to finish the job, then you should shut your mouth."
"Are you ashamed now, Evelyn," Tyler taunted.
"Shut up before she kills you," Damon warned.
"She won't. Not in front of her boy toy."
I looked at Oliver. "I'm leaving." I walked away, heading toward the door.
"Did I mention what I did after I got out of the hospital?"
I paused my footsteps, staring at the door. I bit down on my tongue.
"I found Liv. I gave her the same thing I gave the other girls. And then I made her thank me for it."
Before I could think to keep my sanity in check, I was behind him, tearing his head from his body. I felt his blood splatter across me as screams ensued around me.
After the realization of what I had done set in, I looked at the head in my hands. Tyler's eyes were lifeless, making me feel nauseous. My hands were shaking. I took a breath after a moment.
The silence was making my ears ring. I looked at the pool of blood that was surrounding my feet. The head fell from my hands, a thud sounding as it hit the floor.
I looked up from the floor. The look on Oliver's face was unrecognizable. My throat felt like it was closing. I looked at my hands. The bit of blood on them made my blood run cold. I couldn't believe what I did. My vision started to blur from the tears filling them.
Suddenly, I felt like I was back here all those years ago, staring at Ryan's blood on my hands. I gasped shakily.
I watched as Kai's hands wrapped around mine, pulling me toward him. I followed him as he pulled me with him to the bathroom. I felt tears roll down my cheeks as my breathing became frantic and my heart raced.
I heard the door shut and a sob escaped my throat. As I lost the strength to hold myself up, Kai wrapped his arms around me quickly, pulling me against him.
The feeling of his arms around me was the last thing I expected comfort from, but I accepted it. I leaned into him, burying my face in his chest and gripping his suit jacket in my hands tightly. I could feel him breathing slowly. His hand moved to the back of my head, cradling it.
After a few minutes, I calmed down. I took a deep breath and exhaled slowly as I pulled away from him. I turned to face the sink. I put my hands against the cold marble as I stared at the empty sink. I closed my eyes and breathed out slowly.
"Do you want me to go?"
I didn't answer him. I slowed down my breathing after it started to speed up again. I felt him move closer. He put his hand on my arm. He pulled me to turn around and I let him. I leaned back against the sink and looked up at him.
His hands moved to my face. He swiped his thumbs under my eyes, wiping away the makeup that ran down my cheeks. He looked into my eyes. There was a regretful, sorrowful look that made me feel bad for him. After everything he's done, I feel bad for him.
"Why did you do that?"
He was quiet for a minute. "I miss you, Evelyn. I..." He sighed. "No matter what I tell you, you won't believe me or forgive me."
"I shouldn't have to."
The touch of his hands and the feeling of his body so close to mine made the situation melt away for one euphoric moment. He stared deeply into my eyes, exploring what he hasn't yet discovered.
"Kai," I urged softly.
He breathed out slowly. "Seeing you happy is all I want, Evelyn, but when you're happy with someone who isn't me... it hurts me to even think about it. I've spent every day resisting the urge to find you again and apologize for everything. I would do anything to have you back again, but I know that can't happen." He shook his head slowly, "Making you leave was the worst decision I've ever made, and I hate that you let it happen. But I understand, and I think that's the worst part." He tilted his head as he drew in a breath. "Knowing you could make it without me."
For the first time in years, I was crying about him. He wiped away the tears that escaped my eyes.
His gaze flicked to my lips for a fraction of a second before returning to mine. My breath caught in my throat, feeling the intensity of his stare through my entire body, igniting every part of me and making me feel alive. I caught myself shifting my attention to his lips, and focused on his eyes again.
The distance between his body and mine made my skin feel like a fire only he could put out. My lips parted as I breathed out slowly. His lips were a hairsbreadth from mine, robbing me of my senses. My eyes fluttered shut slowly. His forehead pressed against mine gently as his body weighed onto mine.
I remembered how bad it hurt when I found out Kai was with another woman, then I thought about how Oliver would feel. "Kai, I can't."
"I know, baby," he breathed.
He slid his hands to my neck as he pulled his head back just an inch. I opened my eyes and looked into his. His gaze shifted to my lips for a second, then moved back up to my eyes.
"I'm sorry." He shook his head. "For everything."
Everything within me forgave him, urging me to vocalize it, but it felt unreasonable.
After a minute, he pulled away completely. I felt numb without his touch against me.
He didn't leave, he helped wash the blood off of me. The slowness to which he did it made me feel warm. After being cleaned of Tyler's blood, he moved his hands to my face, tilting my head up to look at him. I stared into his eyes as he looked over my face, looking for more blood.
He pushed my hair back behind my ears gently and looked into my eyes again. I felt stunned by the tenderness of his actions.
He moved his hands to my waist, and I flattened my hands against the sink. He lifted me off the sink, pulling me toward him. My hands were on his arms now. I pushed away from him, and he stepped back.
We silently agreed to get back to what was left of the party. We walked side by side, keeping a few feet between us.
We stopped at the edge of the living room. I looked at Kai and he looked at me. "I'll see you around."
I nodded. He glanced over at the others, then at me. He walked out of the house. I looked back at everyone. The only people that remained were Damon, Stefan, Elena, and Caroline. I looked at Caroline.
"He's waiting for you outside."
"What did you tell him?"
"To talk to you," Damon answered.
I sighed. "Okay."
I turned away from them and made my way outside. I walked slowly to the car, worried about what may happen between us. I got in the passenger seat and shut the door. I looked at Oliver. He was staring at the wheel, a faraway look in his eyes.
"Oliver," I said softly.
He sighed before moving his hands to the wheel. He started driving, keeping his attention away from me as he drove. I stared at the ring on my finger as I twisted it.
We got out and walked to the front door. He held the door open for me and I walked in. I stopped and turned to face him after he shut the front door. I held my hands together behind my back, fidgeting with the ring.
His hands were in his pockets as he stared at the ground. I was afraid to speak, unsure of what to say or how he would react.
"Oliver."
He was unmoved.
I swallowed. "I'm sorry."
After a minute, he started walking away, heading to the bedroom. I closed my eyes and huffed out a breath of air before following him. I pushed the bedroom door shut before taking any steps closer. He was standing by the window, staring at me. His arms were crossed.
"Why haven't you told me anything?"
My chest felt tight. "I don't want you to get hurt. When people find out about my life, my real life, they end up dead, and I'm usually the one to do it. Hurting you is the last thing I want."
He was quiet for a minute. "Who did you kill?"
It hurts to even think about it. "His name was Ryan. He was my best friend."
"How did it happen?"
I felt a lump in my throat as tears peaked in my eyes again. "It's a long story."
He nodded. He looked at the bed. "I understand that you don't want me to get hurt because you love me, and I want the same for you, but whatever you had going on here, Evelyn," he looked at me, "it's obviously a huge part of who you are that you've been keeping from me for years." He shook his head. "I need to know things about you, even if it could hurt me because I know it's hurting you a lot more by not telling me."
I felt like I couldn't breathe again. I shook my head, "I'm so sorry." He walked over to me. He wrapped his arms around me, hugging me tightly. I slid my arms around his neck, hugging him back, "I'm sorry," I cried.
He moved his hand to my head, sliding his fingers in my hair. "Shh. It's okay."
I shut my eyes for a moment, breathing slowly. His hand was on the lowest part of my back. I moved my hands to the sides of his neck as I leaned my head back to look at him. I looked from his lips into his eyes. I could feel his touch through my entire body, causing my heart to beat faster.
He glanced at my parted lips; his gaze lingered for a moment longer than usual. He slid his hand from my hair to the back of my neck. His firm body was the only thing keeping me upright. I leaned further into him. He rested his head against mine, his lips ghosting over mine as his hand slid from my back to my ass. I let my eyes fall shut as he captured my lips with his in a feverish kiss.
Within a minute, our clothes were on the floor, and we were on the bed. His hands were planted on my hips, angling me over his cock. I had my hands on his wrists, holding them tightly as his lips trailed kisses up my neck.
I dug my nails into his arms as I sunk down on him slowly, adjusting to the feeling of having him stretching me out. Our moans blended together, filling the room. His fingers were digging into me. My eyes fell shut as he slammed me down, making our bodies connect and causing me to scream out.
He slid his hands to the tops of my thighs. His lips were next to my ear. "You feel so good wrapped around my cock," he whispered, making me moan.
He moved his hands back to my hips, gripping them tightly. I let him control my body, guiding me up and down his cock and bringing me to tears. He buried his face in my neck, groaning. He slammed me down on his cock, making me cry out as I tensed around him. He slid an arm around my waist, moving his other hand wrap around my throat, his arm settled between my boobs.
I moved my hands to his, leaning against his body. He slid his hand between my thighs, rubbing my clit in fast, tight circles. My body started writhing as I got closer to orgasm. As I moved, so did his cock inside of me.
My face twisted in pleasure. All control I had over my movements dissipated. My entire body tensed up as my muscles contracted around him, squeezing his cock tightly then relaxing.
"Baby..." He moaned. "Do you want to cum for me?" He kissed my neck softly.
A high-pitched whine slipped from my lips as he started circling my clit faster. "Please," I moaned. I inhaled sharply as I grinded my hips forward then backward, shifting his cock out of me then deeper inside me. "Oh, God. I can't-"
"Fuck," he rasped.
Black spots filled my vision as I came around his cock. The touch of his hands was tight on my body as his cum shot inside me.
The sensations that filled me coursed through my entire body, illuminating every part of me. I became a melted mess of cum, neediness, and incoherent noises.
His touch became lighter, as his fingers skated across my skin. His arms wound around my waist. He nuzzled his face in my neck. His mouth worked gently against the skin.
My senses slowly came back to me. I moved my hands to his arms as I relaxed into him completely, easing away from the high.
"Are you okay?"
"Mhm." I moved my hand to his head, sliding my fingers into his hair as he kept kissing my neck.
After showering, we joined reality again, letting the memory of what happened tonight sink into us. I finished brushing my teeth, then stood there for a moment.
I turned off the light as I walked out of the bathroom. I took my time walking to the bed. I sat down, facing him. He was sitting back against the headboard, a contemplative look on his face as he stared at the wall. I folded my hands together in my lap.
"What's the story behind your tattoo, Evelyn?" He looked at me after a moment.
I can't lie to him, especially not now. "Kai and I used to be together. He... that's what he called me."
I couldn't tell what he was thinking. "How serious were you?"
It was hard to think about, but it was even worse to talk about, especially to him. "We were engaged at some point. Then something happened and... he left for a while." He was quiet again. I felt like I was suffocating from the silence. "Please say something," I breathed.
"I feel like I don't know you, Evelyn." He sat up straighter. "Ever since we got here, it's like you're a completely different person. You killed someone."
"I know." I felt tears in my eyes. "I'm sorry. That's why I got out of this town. I hate who I am when I'm here."
"So why didn't you tell me? I mean, you're supposed to trust me and tell me things."
"I do! I do trust you, I just wanted to keep you away from this. People die when they know about things that go on here because then they get involved."
He shook his head, "It's obviously more than just living and dying, Evelyn."
"You don't think I know that?"
"Of course I do! I just want to understand what the hell is going on because you're obviously hurting and I don't know how to help and I just want to help you, Ev. Please let me help you."
I could feel his need to understand bleeding into me, drawing me closer and tearing down my walls. I weighed the options heavily. Telling him might fix everything, but it could do the exact opposite. I love and trust him enough to share this part of my life with him.
"I was leaving for Mystic Falls for thanksgiving after not being home for a year, and not talking to anyone except my mom and Caroline."
...
I've always wondered how long it would take to tell someone my life story. Now I know that it takes around six hours to tell one of the most important parts.
He's been quiet for a while, processing my life. He hasn't looked at me in a while either. I looked over to see the sunlight shining through the window. I looked at Oliver again.
I looked at the ring on my finger. If this ends our relationship, I don't know what I'll do. Actually, I know exactly what I'll do.
"We can leave if you want."
I looked at him. "What?"
He tilted his head, leaning it back against the bed as he crossed his arms on top of his knees. "This town sounds like your purgatory. I don't want to keep you here if it's hurting you like this."
I was surprised by his reaction. Usually, when I tell people, they get freaked out. "So you don't hate me? You're not upset?"
He furrowed his brows. "I could never hate you. Why would I be mad?"
"I don't know. I mean," I looked at the ring on my finger again, "we're engaged. I'm supposed to tell you everything about me. I've kept this from you for so long. And you heard what happened the last time I didn't tell someone about my mom."
He was quiet for a minute. "Hey."
I took a breath before looking at him. He stood up and walked closer to me. He held out his hands. I looked at his hands as I put mine in his. He pulled me to my feet, stepping closer as he slid his fingers between mine.
"Nothing could ever change the way I love you, Evelyn. You will always be my girl." He tilted his head, "No number of psychotic vampires or homicidal witches can change that. Nothing could ever make me stop loving you. Even when I'm dead, my feelings for you will live on through you."
I pulled my hands from his as I closed the distance between our bodies, throwing my arms around him. He held me as tightly as I held him.
