Chapter 19
Bitter Love [BxB]
Kai's POV
After exchanging 'I love you's, Lukas said he has a surprise for me. My heart beats faster, me being excited about the surprise.
"Because you arranged the first date, I wanted to arrange the second one," he says with a small smile, showing me his soft side.
We walk down a path that seems to have been walked on many times before. The dirt is compacted under our feet, and the leaves are crumbled into pieces.
Continuing down the path, we make small talk, learning more about each other. I talk about my time at the other pack, and he talks about what it's been like to be Alpha.
Arriving at a clearing, I take in the view. There is a stream running through the clearing, with trees surrounding us. The sun is just starting to set, the sky's colors blending from blue to orange.
I look down to the middle of the clearing and see a picnic set up. There are blankets and a picnic basket, creating the perfect date.
"This is a tradition with my family. We have picnics here all the time, and I wanted to share it with you," Lukas says with nostalgia in his voice.
"Thank you for sharing this with me. It's beautiful," I admit, looking around at the view.
"I'm glad you like it, would you like to eat?" Lukas grabs my hand and pulls me over to the picnic blankets. I smile at him, enjoying this side of him.
"Of course, I would love to eat. You know how much I like food," I say with a smirk, remembering the story I told him about me hogging all the food at the other pack.
Lukas lets out a loud laugh, looking at me with a bright smile.
This has been amazing so far, and we haven't even started the picnic.
We sit down, and Lukas plates all the food for us to eat. He has my favorite; barbecue chicken sandwich. How'd he know?
"When we were little, you used to always order a barbecue sandwich wherever we went, even if they didn't serve it there," Lukas says, answering my silent question.
I smile at him, and place a quick kiss on his cheek, showing my love for him.
Giving me a small smile, we start to eat.
It's fairly silent while we eat, just enjoying each other's company. After we finish, the sun is fully set.
Lukas pulls me onto his lap, and I lean against his chest. He kisses me on the forehead, and I say, "It's beautiful," talking about the view.
"Yes it is," he whispers in my ear, love clear in his voice. I look up at him and see he's staring at me. Blushing, I look down, embarrassed.
Lukas puts his fingers under my chin, lifting my face up to his. He leans down and gives me a passionate kiss, showing me everything he is feeling.
I kiss him back with just as much vigor, wanting to let him know how much I love him. I turn around so it's easier for us to kiss, me now straddling him.
We make out as the sun goes down, and as we pull away, I say the one thing that's on my mind.
"Best. Date. Ever."
