Chapter 69 (Cole's Pov)

Cole's Pov:

It's been more than a week since the incident.

Everyone changed.

Bethany always seemed to be lost in her own thoughts.

Brody and Jessica are taking extra care of each other.

Chase has forgiven Ryder, and they are good.

Ryder sometimes still fears losing Chase.

Blake was the only one in our friend's circle who's acting normal.

Actually, I'm glad someone is normal.

Blake was the one who called the cops that day, or else I don't know what would've happened.

I don't know what to do anymore.

How will I face Xandra when she wakes up?

I'll have to tell her the truth.

Xandra is alive but in a difficult situation.

She isn't awake, though she's breathing.

I sat near her bed in the hospital, as I took hold of her hand.

Her hair has grown back.

She was right when she said that her hair grows fast.

"Wake up, Xandra, please," I muttered, hoping she would wake up.

The doctor said that she might wake up anytime.

The person who was the most devastated because of Xandra's condition was her mom.

Her mom visits her every day, along with her dad.

I removed that strand of hair from her face.

Her skin has gone pale.

Her lips were dry, almost white.

"Do you even know what's happening? Mason visits you every day hoping you'll wake up. Your mom cries every time she visits. Oh, and your dad keeps giving me strange looks. I don't know what problem he has against me. Jessica and Bethany visit you every day. They keep telling me to go home, but how can I leave without you? You're my life, my world. My everything. Please wake up. Please." I whispered the last part, hoping she listened to everything I just said.

But, she didn't wake up.

I don't know how long I'll go without her.

I turned around to see the nurse come into the room.

She smiled sweetly at me.

"Hey, Cole." She said, batting her eyelashes.

I rolled my eyes, as I told her to do what she has to do.

After taking Xandra's body temperature, she turned to leave.

But, she came back.

"You know Cole, I don't think she'll ever wake up. It's best if you move on." She said, twirling her hair.

I rolled my eyes.

"He's mine." I heard Xandra's voices, as I looked down at her.

The nurse gulped, looking at Xandra.

Xandra tried sitting up, but I stopped her.

I, with the help of the pillows, helped her sit properly.

"Call the doctor," Xandra said, rudely.

Why?

"But...why? You're fine now. I can't disturb him right now. He's in surgery." The nurse explained.

"Call him now, so that I can tell him what you've been doing in his absence. Your work was to look after me, not seduce my boyfriend." Xandra said, glaring daggers at the nurse.

The nurse, looked at me, before getting out of the room.

I couldn't believe the fact Xandra woke up.

"Why are you staring at me, like that?" She asked, adorably.

I smiled at her, before crashing her into a hug.

"I've missed you so fucking much. What took you so long to wake up? Huh?" I asked her, as I let her go.

"Long? How long have I been out?" She asked me, confused.

"A week," I said, kissing her on the forehead.

"A-a week? What happened when I passed out?" She asked me, serious.

I can't tell her now.

"I'll tell you later when all our friends will be here," I said, smiling sadly at her.

I don't think she can bear to know the truth.

She got quiet.

"So...you were jealous of the nurse, weren't you?" I asked her, trying to light up her mood.

Xandra looked away from me.

"Okay. Since how long have you been awake?" I asked her instead.

"Long enough to know how much you guys missed me," Xandra said, smiling at me.

I couldn't help but smile back.

I love her.

"I wanna kiss you," Xandra said, before pouting.

"I'll just brush my teeth." She said, trying to stand up.

I pulled her back, before crashing my lips on hers.

She kissed me back with the same pace.

God knows how long I've waited to kiss her.

I pulled her closer to me, as she ran a hand in my hair, tugging it a little.

Someone cleared his throat.

I pulled away from the kiss, panting.

Turning around, I saw Ryder and Chase standing near Xandra's bed, looking bored.

"Guys," Xandra said, happily, as they proceeded to hug her.

Chase called all our friends and everyone.

Xandra's mom started crying when she saw that her daughter was awake.

Mason was so happy when he saw Xandra.

After everyone met, and left.

It was just our friends in the room.

"I wanna go home," Xandra whined for the millionth time.

"Tomorrow," Bethany said, sternly.

"So...are you and Xandra back together?" Blake asked me.

Xandra blushed, as I laughed.

"Yeah. We're together." I answered, smiling.

"Guys," Xandra said, after a while.

"Yeah?" Jessica said as she sat straight.

"Where is James?" She asked quietly.

Every one of our friends looked at me.

I nodded.

She had to find out somehow.

"In an Asylum," Ryder answered.

Xandra looked shocked.

"But, he wasn't the culprit. Tyler was the psychopath." She pointed out.

"But, Tyler died. He was shot by James." Chase said, carefully.

Xandra sat there, shocked.

"Why?" She helplessly asked.

"James was declared a psychopath. I don't think he can leave that place, any time sooner." I explained.

Xandra had a blank look on her face.

"Oh, God. What must Antony going through?" She suddenly asked.

She turned around to look for Antony, but he wasn't here.

He isn't here. He isn't here.

"Don't you wanna know, why James shot Tyler?" Bethany asked her.

"Why did he shoot Tyler?" Xandra asked as I squeezed her hand.

"Because Tyler shot Antony. In the head." Brody answered.

Xandra's hand left mine.

She looked at all of us, thinking we were joking.

She looked at me, and I nodded.

"His funeral was the next day after the incident. James didn't even get to attend  his brother's funeral." I explained further.

"If only I had untied his hands as well. But me being the stupid bitch I am, I didn't. He could've escaped. I should've untied his hands. It's all my fault. It's all my fault." Xandra muttered under her breath, as she started pulling her hair.

I told her to calm down, as I pulled her hands away from her hair.

"It's not your fault," I said, kissing her forehead.

Xandra looked at me in the eyes, I could see that she was holding back.

"Don't hold back," I said as she burst into tears.

I hugged her, as she cried out.

He's gone. We'll all miss him.

After a while, Xandra calmed down.

She wiped her tears, as she took a deep breath in.

"He's somewhere in heaven. He'll not want you to cry your eyes out." Ryder explained as Xandra nodded.

After a while, Travis barged into the room.

"Oh, hey." He said, taking a seat next to Bethany.

"Hey. How's your hair?" Xandra asked him.

His smile dropped.

"His hairs aren't growing." I laughed out.

Xandra laughed along with everyone else.

"So...Xandra. I heard that you're single." Travis said, smirking.

"But, you've gotta be fucking awesome to change that." She answered, with an eye roll.

"She isn't single anymore. Go find someone else." I said, kissing her forehead once more.

Travis rolled his eyes.

"Did you guys know? Sam is awake." Chase said, happily.

"Oh really? Where is she now?" Xandra asked him.

Even though Sam betrayed her, Xandra thought of her as a great friend.

"She's on her way," Chase said, smiling.

Ryder looked nervous, as he stared at Chase.

Chase hugged him, saying it's gonna be alright.

Exactly at that moment, Sam entered the room.

She looked healthy.

"Hey." She said, hugging Chase and everyone else except Ryder and Xandra.

She sat down next to Travis as she looked at Xandra.

"I heard about what happened. How are you?" She asked Xandra.

"I'm fine. How are you?" Xandra asked back.

Sam nodded at her.

"I'm sorry," Sam whispered, looking at Xandra.

"I'm sorry too. For everything." Xandra confessed before pulling Sam for a hug.

After hugging each other, Sam turned to look at Ryder.

She stood up and made him look at her.

"I'm sorry. I used to like your man. But, now...I'm over it. I hope you can forgive me." She said, truthfully.

Ryder looked shocked.

"I'm sorry. Well, actually I was the one who hit you with my car. Though it wasn't on purpose. I just drive fast." Ryder admitted himself.

Sam didn't look shocked.

"I know. I've forgiven you long before. I just hope you forgive me." She said, smiling.

"We're equal now," Ryder said, hugging her.

Sam smiled before sitting next to Travis again.

"Hey...are you single?" Travis asked Sam.

I rolled my eyes.

"Uh...I don't date half balds." She said, and everyone started laughing.

I looked over at Xandra who was laughing too much.

How can anyone look so pretty while laughing?

Xandra stopped laughing, as she looked at me.

We stared at each other, knowing one thing.

We loved each other.

I turned to look at all my friends.

I had only one thought on my head as I stared at all of them, goofing around.

All was well.
