Chapter 58
Girl Next Door ✔️
Thank you loads for the amazing book cover above by marwasar It's amazing.
My mind went blank. There was only one thing going on in my head.
I needed to get out of the car. I can't stay with Tyler.
I hurriedly unlocked the belt, as I tried to open the gate.
It's locked.
"Oh, so you don't believe me?" I heard Tyler say.
I gulped turning around to face him.
He was staring at me, as he leaned closer.
I leaned back, sticking to the seat.
He moved a little, as he took out his bag from the back seat.
He maintained the eye contact with me.
Taking out some papers from his bag, he passed it to me.
I stared down the at the papers, before looking back at Tyler.
"Here. Take this. You don't need to be scared of me." He said, as he placed the papers on my lap, before unlocking the door.
Taking my bag pack from the back seat, I hurriedly stuffed the papers in the bag.
I opened the door, before turning to face him when he called out.
"The keys." He said, handing me the keys as he came out of the car himself.
I quickly shut the door, locking it as I hurriedly went inside the house without looking back.
Leaning against my front door, I understood one fact that he was lying.
My best friend is lying to me.
There is something fishy.
What if James is correct?
Shaking all the thoughts away, I took a breathe in.
I don't know about anything. Tyler may be smart, but everyone makes mistakes.
I never told him that Kylie and Jasmine were killed by the same person.
That is not even confirmed.
I sighed, as I slowly picked my bag up.
I wonder what Tyler gave me.
Slowly taking out the papers, I realized they were papers of a hospital report.
Jasmine's forensic report.
Hurriedly reading all the papers, I found out that what Tyler said was indeed true.
Jasmine was pregnant at the time she got raped. And then there were marks on her neck, indicating someone choked her. But then, there was rat poison found in her blood.
I stuffed all the papers inside my bag, when I heard my mom clear her throat.
She had a Stern look on her face.
"Yes?" I asked her.
"Your room."
"I'm sorry, what?"
"Four days ago, when you left the house for the trip, your room wasn't clean. Go clean it."
I nodded as I went upstairs.

Another day of school.
I parked my car, as I stepped out of it.
I seriously can't figure out anything anymore.
I don't think James is the killer. But I don't think Tyler is the killer as well.
I think Tyler is hiding something from me.
In fact, I feel like James is hiding something as well.
Sighing, I walked inside the gate.
I noticed James' standing near my locker, as I reached there.
Ignoring him, I opened the locker gate, took out the books I needed, and closed it again.
Only to jump back in surprise.
James stood close, very close to me.
I stepped back, my back hitting the cold locker gate, as James came near me.
"What do you want?" I asked him, sucking a breathe in.
He smirked. He fucking smirked.
"You." He said, and I immediately pushed him away from me.
"Stay away from me." I said, as I picked up my now fallen books.
He didn't say anything as he picked my books as well, coming to my level.
"That's the only thing, I can't do." He said, passing me a book.
I snatched it from him.
"I heard that Tyler told you everything."
I stopped dead in my tracks.
What the?
"Hmm, you must hate me now. Don't you? I've tried so hard to frame Tyler but you trust him way too much."
Okay.
"What do you want?"
"You've seen the pattern of how I kill anyone who comes between me and my girl. Wether it be Bethany, Jasmine or you. And there's only one person who is coming between us." He said, smirking.
He's sick.
"Who?"
"Your beloved, Cole."
I've had enough of his crap.
I glared at him, as I stood up, picking my books.
James did the same.
"Don't believe me?" He said, smiling sadistically.
The next thing he did had my eyes balling out.
He shifted his leather jacket a little, as I saw a gun in his pocket.
A black, shiny gun.
"I'll kill him if you don't break up with him. The choice is yours. Save Cole or let him die." James said, as he walked away, as though nothing happened.
I stood there, shocked.
He's a sadist.
He's sick.
He's a psychopath.
I need to save Cole, I can't lose him too.
"Hey, kitten." Cole said, appearing out of nowhere.
I tightly smiled at him as he placed a kiss on my cheek.
I grabbed a fist of his shirt, pulling him down, as I placed a deep kiss on his lips.
He reacted almost immediately.
He kissed me back, cupping my face.
One last goodbye kiss.
Pulling away flustered, he smirked at me.
"Cole? Can we talk after school? It's important." I asked him, hoping he would disagree.
He didn't.
He agreed.
The bell rang, as Cole and I separate ways.

That was it.
The moment I was dreading since I've met James this morning.
School was over, and here I was, waiting for Cole by his car.
People were filing out of the school building.
I noticed Cole walking straight, his brown hair falling on his face with he removed with his hand.
His leather jacket was loosely held against his body, as he made his way towards his car.
His face lit up, when he saw me.
My mood drained a little more once I saw him smiling at me.
I smiled back, though.
I can do this. This is for his own good.
"Hey, kitten." He said, kissing me on the cheek as he reached near.
Noticing my worried state, he sighed, placing his bag on his car's hood, as he faced me.
"We need to talk." I said, picking up my courage.
"Aren't we talking?" He asked me.
"Please."
"Okay. What's it that's bothering you?"
"I can't do this."
Cole looked at me puzzled.
"Can't do what?"
I sighed.
"I can't stay with you anymore."
Cole stared at me, hurt enveloping his face features.
"W-what do you mean?"
"I'm sorry but, I can't be with you anymore. We need to break up." I said, masking all my emotions away.
Don't break. Don't break. Just a little more and you're done with this work.
Cole was silent.
Looking up at him, my heart ached.
I could see his eyes shining with tears.
He cupped my face in his hands.
"You're not serious, right?" He asked me.
"I am." I said, looking away from him.
His hands left my face.
My heart dropped.
"Did I do something wrong? Why are you doing this?"
"Nothing. I just can't. Everyone knows I'm a player. I use and throw. Nothing more. Consider yourself lucky that I stayed with you for like, six days." I said, blankly as I walked away from him.
Please call me back, I'd come running to you.
But he didn't.
I didn't turn back either.
This was it.
End of my love story.

Everyone knew about our break up. News spread fast.
I expected Jessica and Bethany to cut off all links with me, but shockingly they didn't.
They said it was my wish.
Today was the first day, after my break up as I walked into school.
Keeping my head down, I walked like I didn't want to be seen.
Reaching my locker, I noticed Antony and Cole talking.
More like, Antony talking and Cole barely listening.
Cole looked spaced out.
Walking near my locker, I stuffed some books in, as I took some out.
Closing it, I came face to face with Cole.
"You know what, Xandra? You're terrible at lying. And, I'm not going to believe all that bullshit you said. I'll wait for you." Cole said, looking at me.
"Nah. You don't need to." James said, appearing out of nowhere.
Antony stood there, staring at me.
"Fuck off James." I said, walking away from the trio.
Walking to my next class, I felt someone grab my arm, and pull me in an empty classroom.
Blake.
He quickly closed the door, locking it.
I sighed, as I saw Ryder, Chase, Jessica, Bethany, and Blake gathered up in a room.
"What's wrong?" Jessica asked me, as she placed her bag on the first bench.
"Nothing."
"Stop lying. I saw you yesterday with James. You've been acting strange since then, and then you broke up with Cole." Bethany stated.
"It's nothing really."
"This is something though." Blake said, as he took out my phone.
"Where did you get that?"
"Listen, you don't look like someone who would keep her phone in class and forget. Something is really going on. Tell us, please." Blake said.
He was always the smart one.
"You guys aren't going to let me go easily, will you?"
"No." Ryder said, as he slung an arm around Chase.
Chase smirked at me.
"Did you know that Ryder and Chase are going out? Not many people know. Just us." Blake said, staring at the duo.
Of course I know. I discovered it.
I sent a look to Chase and Ryder, both smiled apologitically.
"You didn't say anything about yesterday. We want to know Xandra. What's the secret you're hiding. We are your friends. We won't tell anyone." Bethany said, placing a hand on my shoulder.
Everyone nodded in agreement.
I sighed.
"Fine."
And then I told everyone about yesterday and Tyler's meet.
After hearing everything, Blake was the one who spoke first.
"This means, that Either it's James or maybe someone Tyler knows who killed Jasmine."
"That's the thing I can't figure out."
"That leaves only one way."
"What?"
"We need to start from the beginning. We need to find out who actually did it."
A/N,
How's the chapter, loves?
So...what Tyler said was true.
Stay tuned.
