Chapter Thirty Two
Forever Ours
Andrew's POV
"Yo man, whatsup?" James hollered as I approached the table they were all seated at.
Adrian, James and Ayo. We were currently at a new restaurant that opened about last week. Tonight is James' bachelor's party so we're all just having a few drinks together before we head for the party.
I greeted all of them before taking my seat. "Congrats man, I'm so happy for you." I said to James as I called a waiter over.
"Thank you," he grinned. "How's it going with your lives? It's been a minute since we hung out like this." He was addressing all three of us now.
"Scotch on the rocks please," I told the waiter my order and he nodded before walking away. I sat up. "My life's been-" I thought of the best word to describe it. "A little bit of messed up." That was the best way to put it.
"You know you haven't really given us the gist of what really happened. It's been bits and pieces here and there which we understand but we need the clearer picture." Ayo said leaning into the table. "Or am I the only one that feels this way?"
"You're not the only one," James rose up his glass of whatever he was drinking, probably beer, and he took a quick sip before placing the glass back down. "We've kind of been in the dark since."
"All except this one I'm guessing." Ayo gestured to Adrian.
Adrian chuckled. "Well I can't help that I'm best friends with Victoria."
"You guys are best friends? I thought it was all through Funke and you know 'cause you're her boyfriend you just automatically know." James couldn't hide his pure surprise and shock.
I shook my head at him. "Where have you been all this while?"
"I was just about to ask the same question," Ayo readjusted himself in his seat.
"So I'm the only clueless one here?" It sounded more like a statement.
"Pretty much." The waiter brought my drink and placed it in front of me. "Thank you."
"They've been best friends for as long as we have been friends," Ayo answered his earlier question. "Right Adrian?"
Adrian nodded. "Yeah."
"Anyways. Andrew, over to you." James took another sip of his drink.
I took the glass in front of me and twirled the cup back and forth, watching the ice mix with the drink.
I recounted everything from the beginning. From where it all began, the moment Victoria told me she was pregnant.
Everything had already slowly began to get ugly before that day but that day, the moment I began to pieces everything together. When I looked into her eyes and at Miles and saw no element of lies in it, that was when everything came crashing down.
Our lives.
I was disoriented after that and I'm only just getting myself back and what will only make things worse is if at the end of the day Victoria still chooses Miles over me.
They all had a bunch of questions, Adrian included and I answered their questions the best that I could.
Of course they all had their own opinions on everything but the only thing that really mattered to me was having Victoria back in my life.
Having a chance to build the life that I've always wanted with her. To make the dreams we had of ourselves when we way way younger come to pass.
I just want a chance to make things work.
James phone beeped on the table and we all looked at it. It's beep putting a slow stop to our laugh.
"Who is it now?" James picked up the phone and his eyes widened. "Oh shit. Guys I have to go. It's Maya there's something I need to give to her." He stood up and took out his wallet.
"We should probably be heading for the party now anyways." Adrian said, standing up.
Ayo and I followed suit.
"Yeah. We can all follow you to drop what you want to drop and we'll head for the party then?" Ayo suggested. "Except if any of you guys drove or something."
"I drove but I can still follow you guys." I shrugged.
"I'll drive with you." Adrian decided.
James settled the bill while Adrian and I walked to my car and Ayo to James' car.
"I wonder what the girls are doing." Adrian said.
"Yeah, me too." My mind immediately went to Victoria as I unlocked the doors.
Her mum had to come over to babysit so Victoria could join the girls for the bachelorette which should be starting any time soon.
Like us, we all decided to hang out for a while before we join the other guests for the party.
Because of the baby though, I'm going to leave the party as early as we can and go pick Victoria so we can go home.
Though her mum assured us that she was fine and that we should both have fun but we just don't want to stress her too much.
I'm also thinking of getting someone to help Victoria around the house and would babysit at times like this.
I'm helping as much as I can but it's like the workload for Victoria just gets more everyday. I want her to be as relaxed as possible.
James finally stepped out and Adrian and I got into my car. Me behind the wheels.
We followed James to Maya's house where they were having the bachelorette. There were just a few people around meaning the party had started not up to thirty minutes ago.
"I'm coming," James said, rushing into the house.
Adrian and I got down from my car and we both leaned on it and looked at the house.
"I'm honestly tempted to go in there." Adrian admitted.
"Yeah, me too." Victoria just looked too irresistible this afternoon when we left the house.
I'm pretty sure that if we were dating, or whatever, we wouldn't have left the house the moment we did.
Even after child birth it was like she only got hotter. Every single thing about her looked more beautiful than before.
"You all and your love," Ayo scoffed causing Adrian and I to look at him.
"What's doing you?" I chuckled. "Jealous much?"
"Guy ever since Jo left you, you haven't moved on. You know you guys aren't getting back together right?" Adrian leaned forward so he could get a good view of Ayo.
Ayo glared at him which made Adrian and I to burst out laughing.
"I agree with Adrian, you need to move on, its been what? Two years now?" I completely support Adrian.
Jo was definitely not coming back to him. She has moved on with Michael Greenwood. Though I feel hurt for him but I guess some people have it harder than the others.
"See who is talking oh, why didn't you move on from Victoria?" Ayo turned to me.
He was leaning on James' car so there was a little distance between us.
"My case is different guy she was pregnant for my child." I placed my hands into the pocket of my pants.
"Yeah, I don't think you can actually compare." Adrian now said. "But for real Ayo you should move on. You don't see what we see."
"And what do you see?"
"Remember Jo is friends with Funke and Victoria, like they're very tight and we hear all their conversations on the phone, video calls, long ass voice notes." Adrian rolled his eyes. "And we all see that she's moved on. Hell you see it too but you just refused to believe it."
"Maybe this party would change your mind. Just open up your heart man." I stood up straighter when I saw James walk out of the house.
Not only James walked out but all of them. Maya, Funke and... Jo? I didn't know she was around.
Victoria was not with them, makes me wonder where she is.
"Speak of the devil." Adrian commented.
"What is she doing here? I thought she wasn't coming." Ayo looked like he was going to have a heart attack.
"Guy, her best friend is getting married, what do you expect?" I turned to him. "I didn't know she was around too but you shouldn't be so surprised.
"I heard her telling James that she's not sure if she can make it." He was definitely trying his best not to lose it.
"Key word, not sure." I said as they all got to where we were standing.
"Hey," Adrian was the first to move and he wrapped one hand around Funke's waist and planted a kiss on her lips.
I rolled my eyes and looked away only to find James and Maya doing the same thing and Ayo with a constipated look on his face as Jo made her way to him.
I tried not to laugh.
"Funke where's Victoria?" I asked when she was done eating Adrian's face.
"She's coming sh-" Funke turned to the front door where Victoria was just stepping out of. "Oh there she is."
I couldn't help but drool at the sight of her. Her beauty is beyond me.
Her hair which was down when I dropped her is now packed up her regular afro style.
She was wearing jeans and a tank top that hugged her frame well. Every curve of her body was highlighted and with every step she took, the sway of her hips got my eyes fixated on them.
She smiled when she saw everyone and when her eyes locked with mine I swear my heart skipped a beat. I don't think I'll ever get used to this feeling, of my heart skipping a beat at the sight of her or at the sound of her voice.
"Stop drooling Andrew." Funke pulled me out of my trance.
"I can't help it," I sighed still looking at Victoria.
She greeted James and Ayo before she stood in front of us. "Hey Adrian." They did their secret handshake that I just never understand.
"What are you guys doing here?" The smile on her face was still there.
"James had to drop something for Maya so we just decided to tag along." I answered.
"Oh okay," she nodded and rose up her jeans and somehow her tank top shifted slightly giving a slight peak at her bare skin and... was she wearing a waist bead?
I don't have anything against them but she has never for one day worn any and though I don't really care about it but honestly it looks sexy on some ladies especially when worn moderately.
The small peek I had of it, if it's really a waist bead definitely makes me want to be sure I saw correctly.
It'll be better if she was naked though.
Andrew, get your head out of the gutter!
Just a little more patience.
We all just talked for a few minutes before the ladies decided they had to go back inside especially when more guests started showing up.
We said goodbye and watched them all walk into the house before we got back into the cars and drove off.
