VS - Chapter 8

Henry and Rose both looked up as the door burst open. Kaden ran through the door screaming a very girly scream. He was soon followed by Violet with his sword held high above her head in one hand and Princess Unicorn in the other. Britney walked in after them with a slightly amused expression on her face. Her arms had many bags hanging off of them. As soon as she laid eyes on Rose's and Henry's distraught faces it quickly turned into an apologetic one.

Rose and Henry slowly turned their faces to face each other. They both smiled and yet sighed at the same time.

"I'll get Violet," Henry said.

"I'll get Kaden," Rose said. They both stood up and ran in different directions, each one chasing their kid of choice. A few seconds later they both walked up to Britney. Rose had Kaden clutched tightly in her arms as he hung upside down, clutching tightly to her leg. Henry had Violet in her arms as she tried desperately to get out of his grasp to reach Kaden. Henry snatched the sword away from her hand and threw it on the couch. Kaden visibly relaxed.

Rose and Henry looked up at Britney and gave her a toothless smile. Britney only shrugged.

"I tried," Britney simply stated.

"With these two it's next to impossible so we didn't expect anything else," Rose stated. Henry nodded as Violet started to bang on his chest to let her go.

"I can only imagine how much you two have missed your kids, so I'll take my leave now," Britney said as she dropped all of the bags onto the ground. She quickly ran to Kaden and gave both Rose and Kaden a tight squeeze. She ran over to Henry and Violet and gave them a tight hug as well. Henry was left out of breath and Violet was left giggling. Britney waved to them before she ran out of the door.

Henry and Rose looked at each other and nodded at the same time. They both placed Violet and Kaden on the ground and let go of them. They both ran around the house as Kaden's screams filled the air.

Henry felt something jump on his lower back. He started to choke as that something grabbed onto the back of his collar. He started to fall back but balanced out once small arms wrapped around his head and small hands grabbed his hair. He felt small legs on either side of his head. He heard a girly giggle in his ear and knew it was Violet.

"What happened to Kaden?" Henry asked.

"Princess Unicorn beat him up," Violet simply stated. Henry glanced at Rose and saw that Rose was giving Kaden a piggyback ride. "I'm bored daddy!" Violet practically screamed in his ear.

"Ok, well, I don't know if we can fix my hearing, but I know we can fix your boredom."

"How?!" Violet screamed again.

"How about by making you fly," Henry said. Without warning, he started to run around the house. He felt her grip in his hair loosened before it disappeared completely. Violet outstretched her arms like a plane as she giggled. Henry glanced around and saw Rose doing the same thing to Kaden, except he was holding Rose's head in a death grip and a scared look was on his face.

Henry looked into the kitchen and saw Harper and Erik eating various things from the kitchen. Joey and Lilly had taken a break from trying to find a house. They both smiled before they ran in to join Henry and Rose with playing with the kids.

Henry and Rose were now sitting on the couch. Lilly, Joey, Erik, and Harper had gone to bed awhile ago, the kids had worn them all out. Violet curled up on his lap, looking at Kaden. Rose was sitting next to him with Kaden laying on her lap. Kaden's hand was outstretched as he stared at a cup. His hand slightly twitched and the cup teleported off the table. He twitched his hand again and it reappeared.

"You want chocolate," Violet said to Kaden. "You want chocolate," she said again. Kaden twitched his hand and a chocolate bar appeared on the table. Violet reached out to take it but Henry quickly grabbed the bar.

"No sugar this late at night," Henry said.

"You want me to have the chocolate," Violet said to Henry. He slightly laughed.

"You may be good at mind manipulation, but I have stronger mind powers, it's not going to work." Violet crossed her arms and put on her pouty face.

"I think it's time for bed," Rose said. Both the kids groaned in annoyance. Henry and Rose carried them up to their rooms and laid them down in their beds, they tucked them in before they walked to their room.

Rose walked to the bed and flopped down on it face first. She heard Henry chuckle and felt the weight shift next to her as he sat down. He grabbed her arm and gently turned her on her back. Rose grabbed his hand.

Her body quickly jumped and one of her legs outstretched completely and her entire body shook in a very noticeable gesture. Henry pulled away.

"What was that?" Henry asked.

"It was a cold chill," Rose said as she shrugged.

"That was a miny seizure!"

"No, it was a cold chill."

"Come here," Henry said as he picked her up and placed her in his lap. He reached over and grabbed one of Rose's seven blankets and laid it on her. His grip on her waist tightened as he pushed her back against his chest. "I'll keep you warm," Henry said as he placed his chin on her shoulder.

Rose readjusted herself so she could look at Henry's face. She placed one of her hands on his cheek.

"You always provide for me," Rose said in a whisper. Henry reached up and grabbed her hand. He placed a soft kiss on the lower part of the palm of her hand and upper wrist. He felt the blood pulse through her vein and the scent of her half human half vampire blood entered his nose. He retracted his head and looked at her, his eyes were a slightly darker red. Rose noticed.

"When was the last time you had blood?" Rose asked. His eyes reverted back to there original color.

"I don't know."

"Do you want some?" She asked. His eyes, for a split second, turned dark red again before they turned back to the soft red. She reached up her hand and ran her hands through his hair. "I don't mind," She said in a soft voice.

Henry moved her hair out of his way as he slowly leaned down his head to her neck.

"I don't have-"

"Henry," Rose said. Not long after she felt his teeth sink into her neck.

Henry closed his eyes as he felt her partial AB negative blood enter his mouth. He didn't know why but the sweetness of her human blood and the bitterness of her vampire blood created a weird yet addicting taste. After one gulp he pulled away.

"That's all you want?" Rose asked.

"Yeah, that's all I want," Henry said. He placed a soft kiss on Rose's lips. Rose wrapped her arms around the back of Henry's neck. Henry's hands grabbed her waist and readjusted her to where she was more sideways. Henry used one of his arms to support her back as he leaned down more.

They both stopped as they heard Henry's phone ring. They pulled away from each and Henry leaned over to his nightstand to see who was calling.

Phil

Henry reached over and ended the call.

"Who was that?" Rose asked.

"No one," Henry said as he went back to kissing her. He leaned down further this time and Rose felt her back press against the bed. She ran her fingers through his hair as she smiled. Henry pulled away as his phone rang again. It was Phil again.

"This will only take a second," Henry said as he reached over and grabbed his phone. He answered as Rose laid her head on his chest.

"Hello?" Henry asked somewhat angry.

"I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry."

"What are you sorry for?"

"I'm so sorry."

"Da- Phil you're drunk."

"Please c-come over I need to talk to you."

"It's in the middle of the night."

"I need to talk to you."

"Why can't you just tell me now?"

"I'm so sorry." Henry sighed.

"Ok, I'll come."

Henry pulled his phone away and ended the call. He sighed as he laid his chin on Rose's head.

"I have to go see Phil, he's not making any sense."

"I'll come with you." Rose threw the blanket off of her and started to get up. Henry grabbed her and laid her back down on the bed.

"No, not this time. You've seen enough of him," Henry mumbled.

"Are you sure?"

"I'm absolutely one-hundred percent positive," Henry said as he kissed Rose's forehead. He pulled away. "I'll be back before you know it." Henry pecked her on the lips before he stood up from the bed and grabbed his keys and phone. He looked back at Rose and saw that she was now sitting up. He walked over to her and gently pushed her back down, he grabbed the covers and all of her blankets and threw them over Rose.

"Stay warm, please. Those cold chills that you have are frightening," Henry said as Rose smiled and nodded. He grabbed one of his hoodies and tossed it at Rose before he walked out of the room.

He got into his car and started to drive to Phil's house.

When he finally got there he ran up the stairs and opened the doors. Phil was sitting in a chair with blood on his mouth and chin. He didn't look drunk, but it was hard to tell because of all the tears that were staining his face.

"Ok, I'm here. What do you want?" Henry asked in an annoyed tone.

"I'm so sorry."

"We've already gone over this bit. What are you sorry for?"

"Everything."

"Define everything."

"Rider, the Special Units Force, and Zoey." Henry looked at Phil.

"How... how do you know those people?"

"Because I manipulated them."

"What?!"

"I manipulated Rider to continue to attack that thing that you like. After he got out of jail he came to my place to ask what to do and I told him: to kill it. The Leader of the Special Units Force I knew when the experiments involving vampire's were taking place so I made them try to kill that thing as well. Zoey came back to my house not long after she visited you and I manipulated her to hurt one of you because the other attempts had failed."

Henry's brain tried to wrap around everything Phil was telling him. It all made sense now. Rider constantly snapping in and out of being obsessed with killing Rose and his eyes constantly changing my color. The same went for the Special Units Force and their sudden one-eighty turn of only beating him up to trying to kill him so suddenly. Along with the fact that they chased them, they knew Henry and Rose couldn't go to the police and they had done probably all the experiments they needed to do on Rose. And Zoey, Henry now knew that when she visited them while she was nice it wasn't an act, but her personality and the sudden turn she did was because of Phil.

Anger suddenly overtook Henry. It was because of Phil that they had had to kill all those people. Phil was the reason they were hunted and hurt and almost killed.

In an instant, Henry had a hold of Phil's collar and had lifted him off the couch and off the ground. His eyes turned a dark red as he started to lose control.

"Why are you just now telling me this?!" Henry practically yelled as he took one hand and started to punch Phil in the face multiple times. When he finally stopped Phil's head rolled to the side. "Why?!"

"Because I don't know if I'll have the chance to tell you again," Phil said as blood came out of his mouth.

Henry's eyes reverted to their natural color as his eyebrows furrowed together. Before he could ask any more questions he heard a weird noise and felt a sharp pain shoot through his chest, directly where his heart was.

Blackness.
