Chapter 120
Secret Billionaire’s Contract Bride: Marrying My Enemy’s Lover
Chapter 120
When I came to, I was strapped to a chair in a small wooden room that looked to be a cabin. There was
furniture that had to be five or so decades old. Cobwebs and dust covered the walls and the only
source of light was this singular light bulb that hung above me and the lights mounted onto the walls.
I could see from the dirty mirror that it was daybreak and this cabin was surrounded by large pine trees.
I was in the middle of nowhere. I had no idea where in LA a place like this could exist. How far had she
taken me? Was I even still in the state?
All these questions plagued my mind, only adding to my distress.
I tried to pull at the ropes that bound my hands but they were tied up tightly. Panic was flowing through
my body but I did my best to keep myself calm.
I stared down and sure enough, I was still in the same gown I had worn the night before. So no one
had taken advantage of me while I slept but that didnât mean I was safe.
âTabitha!â I screamed her name. âCome out here and show your face.â
I had no idea why she would even do such a thing to me. I had not seen her in over a year and now
she had kidnapped me? None of this made any sense.
âTabitha!â I bellowed at the top of my lungs. âCome out here!â
âOh, would you quit your yelling, your voice is like nails on a chalkboard.â
The last person I expected walked into the small living room.
âAngela?â I should have known she would be part of this.
âSurprise.â She waved her hands in the air. âOh, how I have missed seeing your ugly little face, Adie.
How have you been?â âWhere is Tabitha?â
How did these two even know each other?
âOh, her? Sheâs on a coffee run at the moment, we were starving.â Angela flipped her rather blonde-
looking hair over her shoulder.
âI see youâre still trying to imitate me.â
She scoffed, âPlease. You are not worth my time, anymore. Quite frankly, if I didnât need you for that
ransom I would have disposed of you by now.â She took in a sharp intake of air. âBut alas, you have to
stay breathing for a little while longer.â âI swear to God when I get out of here I am going to kill you,â I
made sure to coat each word with venom.
âOh?â She smirked and came to stand in front of me. She used her finger to tilt my chin upward so I
was looking her in the eye. âLast I checked youâre the one in the chair and bound by ropes. By the way,
are they too tight, princess? I know how you like comfort.â
I let out a sound that was a cross between a growl and a scream. I hated how she was the only person
who was able to bring about the murderous rage inside of me. She knew how to get under my skin and
had been doing it since the day we met. âAre you so desperate to have my husbandâs affection that you
would go to these lengths?â 1 spat.
I watched the way a scowl etched its way onto her face taking away the beauty from her features. It
was true, hatred made you less appealing.
âYou mean Damon? Oh no, I found someone far better than that idiot man.â
âWhat?â
Her lips pulled into a cold smile that didnât reach her eyes. âI think you know him well, isnât that right,
dearest?â
She looked over her shoulder to the archway where none other than my brother-in-law stood at the
entrance with his hands in his pockets and his eyes glaring at me with a hatred I had never seen in
them before.
âAshton?â I blinked in complete and utter disbelief. I should have known from the moment I saw
Tabitha. He had been the one to rope her into this, likely in the guise that she needed to do this in order
to prove her love and loyalty to him-the poor girl.
Ashton walked up to Angela and kissed her squarely on the lips with so much tongue she looked like
she was drowning. I had to hold myself from hurling at the sight of them.
When they finally came back up for air, he was smiling but I didnât miss the look of disgust on Angelaâs
face before she plastered on a fake smile.
âPerfect, a psycho and a sociopath. A match made in motherfucking heaven.â
âDonât be jealous, Adie.â Asthon palmed Angelaâs ass to which she let out an overly exaggerated laugh.
âNone of this is personal-oh wait, it is.â
âYou know your brother is going to come and finish your sorry ass off, right? And this time there will be
no Rina or me to stop him.â
I struck a nerve.
His face went from cocky and easy to enraged and murderous. He closed the distance between us and
leered at my face. âYou think youâre so clever, donât you? But let me tell you something, Iâm the one
with the upper hand. My brother will do anything to have you back and that includes paying a hefty sum
of money. By the time I tell him where you are, I will be gone in the wind with my sweet Angela.â
I threw my head back and laughed in his face. âYou think that youâre going to run into the sunset with
her? The same woman who tried to become me in order to get to your brother? You are even more of a
fool than I thought you were.â
The strike came out of nowhere. And by the time I had heard it, the sting had already settled into my
skin. My face had been whipped to the side by his harsh slap and the tears pricked my eyes from the
force of the sting.
I had not been expecting him to strike me. He had always been psychotic but he had never laid a hand
on me.
âYou donât know who I am, bitch.â He sneered at me. âI will end both you and my brother in the blink of
an eye.â
He grabbed my chin and forced me to look at his face. His eyes were molten with rage and for the first
time, I was actually scared of him. His fingers squeezed my chin, inflicting some pain.
The only thing that I could think about was the small little baby in my belly. I had to protect them.
I could taste the metal in my mouth and I knew that I was bleeding.
I heard the door open and a few seconds later when Tabitha came in with a bag of food and coffee in
the other. She looked. between her lover and me with wide eyes but she said nothing.
Ashton moved away from me and plastered on a smile that he threw Tabithaâs way.
âMy love, youâre back.â
So that was the game they were playing. Angela was fooling Ashton and Ashton was fooling Tabitha.
This plan had one mastermind and that was Angela. I knew she didnât need the money, not in the way
that Ashton and Tabitha needed it. She was after what she had been after from day one-my husband.
And they were all playing into her hands.
I looked her way and saw the slight smirk on her face.
She knew exactly what she was doing and she was about to play her checkmate move.
I needed to find a way out of this, and quickly.
