Chapter 108
Secret Billionaire’s Contract Bride: Marrying My Enemy’s Lover
Chapter 108
It had been a full week and she was yet to wake up. I was now in that phase where hope was
dwindling. I called in Dr. Nyawatoka from Japan. He was known to be one of the best neurosurgeons in
the world and he had offered me the same advice that the rest of these people had.
It was all a waiting game.
âYou need to eat. Damonâ Corinna walked in with Daniel behind her. âYouâve been with her all week.
You need to get out and breathe some fresh air. It will do you some good to be away from all of this.â
âI canât, what if she wakes up and Iâm not here?â
I looked at my wife who still had not moved an inch unless it had been me or the nurses who were
moving her. âShe needs me here.â
âThen Iâll be here.â She walked up behind me and patted her hands on my shoulders. âDo this for her,
Damon. Daniel can even join you in the cafeteria.â
I looked to the door where her boyfriend stood. I had come to like him after he had basically babysat
me that time when Adie was in Switzerland. He had been a friend to me even when he didnât need to
be. And though I knew he had been doing it to get some brownie points with my sister-in-law he was
still nice company to talk to.
âCome on, man. They have decent burgers here tooâ
I looked up at Corinna who smiled back at me. âGo and get some rest time, brother dearest
âOkay,â I sighed.
They were right, I would be of no use to my wife if I was depleted of energy. She needed me at my
best.
I got out of my seat and leaned forward to kiss her forehead. Her skin was cool to the touch and her
cheeks were still pale in color. There was still brain activity going on in there but she still had not come
back to the land of living
âIâll be right back, baby
I walked out of the room with Daniel in tow behind me. The entire walk to the cafeteria downstairs was
spent in silence. I donât know if he wanted me to break the ice or maybe he just wasnât in a speaking
mood. But as soon as I exited out of the elevator I came face to face with a man holding a bouquet of
flowers and a somber expression.
âGabriel, Daniel piped up, first stepping toward the man who had been a thorn in my side from the
moment I learned of his existence. âStrange seeing you here. Are you here to visit someone?â
Gabrielâs eyes shifted to me slowly before they moved back to Daniel. âYeah. I just heard about it today
and I was a little shocked to say the least.â
âLeave.â I stepped up toward him. âThis is a private family matter and you donât need to be here.â
âSheâs still my friend.â
âAnd Iâm her husband and I am telling you to leave. She doesnât need your flowers or sympathy.â
Gabriel had the audacity to roll his eyes at me. âI get you may be insecure about your marriage but
trust me when I say your wife has made it abundantly clear that she doesnât want me. But that doesnât
mean that I had stopped caring about her and wanting to wish her well. We work in the same movie for
Christâs sake. Weâre all worried about her.â
âWeâll take that worry and leave.â I had gotten into it with Angela, the last thing I needed was to get into
it with him as well.
âI just want to see her.â
The nerve of this man.
âYou donât need to see her. I can tell you how she is and sheâs doing fine, she will be awake soon and
you donât need to worry yourself. So you can just leave and go back to the hole that you crawled out ofâ
Gabrielâs nostrils flared a little. He was getting angry but when the fuck had I cared about that before?
He had no right to be here. He may have considered Adie a friend but I was her husband.
âOkay,â Daniel interjected, âhow about we take this outside? People are beginning to stare and the last
thing that we need is another page-six story.â
I looked around the area and sure enough there were people staring at us. They had their heads close
to each other all whispering underneath their breath. I was about to blow up at them but then I
remembered who I was and what I did reflected on my wife.
âWe can just go our separate ways and call this a day. You donât need to be around me and my wife.
You will see her on set when sheâs better.â
âAre you for real right now?â Gabriele stood his ground like the arrogant little twat he was âIâm not
leaving until I see her for myself. I get you have no real reason to like me. I wanted your wife and if Iâm
being completely honest I still do but she
made it more than clear that she did not want me. She chose you and I respected that but that doesnât
mean that I can just Turn off my emotions for her
I was livid Not only did he confess to having feelings for my woman but he has just confessed to not
letting her go even though she was married to me.
âTim going to give you ten seconds to get out of my face before I beat your face in 1 know you actors
are cautious with your faces. After all, itâs your money makerâ
Daniel stepped in between us this time and looked at me first âOutside, now.â
âAre you serious right now? Youâre telling me to leave when he
âBoth of you.â Daniel held my gaze. âOutside Nowâ
There was no room in his tone for discussion And with the people around us with their phones out I
knew that I needed to exit out of here before a new story somehow popped out in the headlines and I
had another fire to put out.
I nodded my head and walked toward the exit of the hospital with the two men in tow. When we broke
past the doors I turned to face Gabriel.
I knew that I needed to have a calmer approach here. I had come out to calm myself and to breathe
and the last thing I needed was to become a raging banshee. So I closed my eyes, let out one long
winded sigh and turned to Gabriel.
âI understand that you are here for her but understand from my point of view. You just came here and
professed your romantic feelings to my wife. And now you want me to just say âyeah okay buddy you
can see my wife whenever and wherever you like?. Not going to happen.â
âI get I shouldnât have said that but I was only trying to be honest. I just want to be there for a friend.
Sheâs nothing more to me than a friend and you can even ask her yourself. She never wanted to get
close to me because you were the constant on her mind. She never swayed from you.â
âI was never concerned that she did sway from me. Itâs not her Iâm worried about, itâs you. I just donât
feel comfortable you being around my wife. And Iâm hoping that as a man you will respect that.â
was silent but I knew that he heard me. But before he could give his response Corinna burst outside,
her eyes wi
Shevawake.
