CHAPTER XXXIII: SNeak Out!
Why the heroine became the villainess?
Rose slowly blinked his eyes. It was out of confusion.
"It's just that yesterday, I found out that her birthday was befores the day of my birthday, and..."
He just looked to Beatrice who stopped talking.
"What's with the strange stare?"
"..."
"Anyway, my problem, I have no yet prepared gift for her."
He did not immediately write his reply on the ground. He eyes widened in disbelief in a moment, and changed with slight frown brows. Nevertheless, he still able to reply back.
[Then, why won't you buy? You can go in the market.]
"I can't go in the market without her. As if the people here will let me go without chaperone."
"..."
Sigh. "That is my problem. I cannot go to the market for a gift if she is always around me. How can I look for it if the target person is just a second around? That is my problem" She redundantly complained and continued it in her mind.
"If only this was like my previous world that I could just tap my phone and check for online stores, and made it to deliver upon my place. 'Sigh'. I miss Shoppy and Lazaada. I still remember how Lee Min Ho said his lines "add to the cart now"
[Then, how about you sneak out? Just like now?]
"Sneak out?" She uttered in a low tone. Sneak!?
Yes, why did I not think about it? I can use some disguise and come back immediately after buying, but...
Her energy, that soared up, immediately depleted. "I have no sense of direction."
She despondently looked at him, whom the latter tilted his head out of curiosity. She has no courage to speak her embarrassing weakness. So, she made an excuse. "I am scared going outside just by myself."
"..."
Bing!
"I know!" She smiled brightly after an idea popped on her mind.
[What is it?]
"Why won't you come with me? It will be good to have you around in the market." She happily announced.
"I am genius. I don't have to think about getting lost, plus I will have a strong bodyguard with me."
Rose did not scribble straightaway his answer, instead, he just looked at her with serious stare. The man was again thinking something.
The long replied of him made Beatrice concluded that the latter might be worried of something. Secret knights should guard in hidden, and apparently, not in a conspicuous area like the market.
"I will wear simple dress so there is nothing for you to worry about being caught. And weren't you the one who suggested it....
..... in the first place?" She fidgeted worriedly. She put her best sad-troubled-begging face.
"..."
Rose stopped staring on her firmly, and turned his head to the other side. It was like looking for a better answer from the woods and midair.
"Don't worry as I said, I will only look for a gift, and after acquiring it, we will go home immediately." She convinced him using her best teary-puppy eyes, as her sad-trouble-begging face failed.
"And I will let you wear your mask, but also please wear something simple too." She added.
Even with the black clothing, his clothes were still unordinary to describe and to classy to be compared with commoner's cloth.
Contrary to Beatrice's thoughts, Rose was feeling uncertain. Though, he nodded as a reply and averted his gazed from her.
"Yey!" Beatrice jumped jubilantly after hearing his positive reply, and clasped his both hand. "Thank you, Rose. I am very happy to find a friend like you."
"--friend like you."
Rose took off his hand away from her clasped, and pulled back. He gave off a lethargic expression. Seeing his response, Beatrice halted.
"Is he not used to physical contact?" She said wonderingly.
Then, after realizing something, she covered her lips. "Oh my! Of course, he will startle. I just held his hands. I forgot that this is way more conservative era than my previous life. Did I just appear a desperate girl to him??"
"I am sorry for holding your hands. I just got a bit too excited. Don't worry it will never happen again."
With her apology, Rose snapped and looked calm after. Then, he reached the branch that he used to reply on her.
[Apology. I did not mean to startle you. I am not just usedâ]
"It is okay. It's okay. I do understand." Beatrice trailed him off in writing his explanation. She understood well that she should not behave that way. He is still a man, and she is a woman. It was unacceptable for a woman to hold the hand of a man.
"Then, shall we plot my project: escapade." She said veering on a different topic.
Rose nodded with confused again. The construction of words of the lady were strange to hear. Project escapade?
Beatrice explained everything for their project: escapade, while the former just simply nodded to every words that she said. She even expounded her alibi that she will use against her maid in this project. She also added the time and place.

"How was the preparation of your birthday, My Lady?" Sister Mildred asked.
"Actually, I have no idea. Father, brother, and the people in the mansion are busy with it, but did not let me in to join them. Well, they did ask about my preference."
"Is it made to be a surprise party?"
"Yes. I think so. My father even prohibited me to visit the grand duchy hall until my birthday comes."
"Fufu, I am glad to hear that."
She pouted.
"Sister Bea. Please don't forget to visit here before your birthday." Lily interfered in them.
Lily reminded her to visit the foster house. It was a sad news that they can't attend to her party except Andrew, who will work as an apprentice knight. It was a difficult decision, but she agreed with it.
It was not because she was ashamed of them being a commoner, but the pressure given by the aristocrats. If they will come, instead of enjoying the party, maybe, it will leave a distasteful in their mouth. Many nobles will never understand her being friend with commoners. In this world, it is all bout rankings and wealth.
And she did not want the children to suffer or to have bad experience from the noble again. Even Sister Mildred understood her reasoning, the middle-aged woman was very perceptible with this matter.
"Of course, I will." She replied affirmatively.
"Changing the topic, My Lady. How was Andrew's doing? He did not give any trouble in his training, didn't he?" Sister Mildred worriedly asked.
"Nope, Sister Mildred. He is doing well. If you will watch him, you would never have thought that he was just training in mere months. The people in the manor are praising his talent. They called him a genius in swordmanship." She said happily and proudly.
"I am very happy to hear that, My Lady. Thank you." Sister Mildred replied happily with teary eyes again.
On the other hand, Lily proudly spoke of her brother. "Of course, brother Andrew is so strong. No doubt about that."
They were all in the garden to relax and enjoyed the view of the oozing fresh vegetables in the small garden, except for Andrew who was in the mansion to work on his swordmanship training.
From their place, they can see the twins who were busy spraying water to their favorite squash. It was the only big vegetable that they grew in the garden. It might be the reason that the kids very much interested with it. They were even proudly informed her when they harvested a really huge one.
"Time flies so fast. My Lady, is it not?" Sister Mildred said out of the blue.
"Yes, I agree."
