CHAPTER XXV: TARZAN AND HIS FAMILY

Why the heroine became the villainess?

He slightly flinched with the sudden seriousness displayed by Beatrice, but was still able to maintain his natural emotionless face. He bowed down his head. "I am sorry. I did not intend to complain."

But unknowingly, his face appeared burning.

"Ha ha ha ha. I did not know. You could be this cute, Andrew."

"Cute". By this time, he annoyingly lifted his head, and glared to the lady. "If you have nothing to order, Lady Beatrice. I will have to go now."

She rested her both arms on the window. "Lady Beatrice? From a while ago, you were just calling me, My Lady. And I find it to my taste." She teasingly emphasized the words, "My Lady" using her natural charming smile.

"..."

Looking to the grinning lady, for some reason his slight annoyance towards her, was instantly vanished. He just felt that he was enjoying it too, but he has no idea how to convey that feeling. He ended up languidly appeared with emotionless face again to the lady.

Nevertheless, for the months being with him, she knew that he was not annoyed nor mad at her.

"Anyway, how did you get here? This is way too far from the training ground. Don't tell me the famous Tarzan of the Grande forest is capable of being lost in a place without huge trees and bushes." She can't stop teasing him for some reasons.

"I am not lost. And for the record, I am no Tarzan like in your stories."

Whenever Beatrice visited the foster house, it was part of her daily routine to have story telling with Lily, the twins, and baby Chris. And he, who was always with them, overheard her story telling.

"I just came early, and decided to familiarize myself around."

"Hmm."

With his explanation, Beatrice jumped out from the window. He was flustered with the abrupt deed of the lady. It was improper and unexpected for a noble lady like her.

"You should not do that, Bea. Are you a monke—". He said worriedly, but trailed off. It was rude to continue what he was just about to speak.

But she was fast to grasp what the word he should have slipped by then. "You were just about to ask if am I a monkey, right?" She pouted.

"..."

He involuntary gulped, and averted again his eyes.

With his gestures, she can't help to find him rather charming. "My adopted Big— No, my little brother is cute today."

"He he he. Not that matters."

"..."

"Anyway, I decided to take a break now. So, this lady of yours is volunteering to guide you." She said with curtsy.

And she immediately waved her index finger and warned him. "And don't give me that you-don't-have-to-look." After saying that and without waiting for his response, she went ahead.

"..."

The lady already knew what he was thinking about without the need of voicing it out. With that thought, he just smiled looking at the lady behind.

After learning the structures of the manor, she was confident in guiding Andrew in every place of the mansion. It was actually a short walk, because the latter needed to attend his swordmanship training.

Although she never got a proper conversation from him, she was comfortable. Andrew is a real one-word man. Her journey with him these past few months made her familiar to his simple gestures, and that she found ease in interpreting the boy.

Truth to be told, she felt discomfit towards people, who don't speak their mind, but Andrew was different. She felt safe and relieve being with him. Actually, even with his nasty, aloof attitudes, she sensed that he is a good person. One enough reason why she wholeheartedly thought of him as her new big brother.

After their walk, Andrew headed to the training ground, and she went in the mansion. She was walking in the hallway when she saw Marielle looking for her. It seems that she made her maid worried again.

And she was right. "I should have learned to leave a note from now on."

She apologized and informed her maid that she would leave a note from now on. Marielle accepted her apology, but still nagged her about how worry she was. It was the second time of her sneaking out without informing the latter so she thought that she deserved her scolding.

Marielle was now relaxed being with her. She treated the lady like she was her younger sister, but still with attentiveness of not to cross the line too much as a maid.

After taking lunch together with her father and brother, Marielle informed her that the carriage was ready, and Caville was waiting outside. Her knight, Caville, already showed enthusiasm in being her guard. It was evident on his face and compared from their first interaction, his treatment to her was much better.

"Good afternoon, My Lady.", greeted by him and offered his hand to her.

"Good afternoon, Caville.", she greeted back and mounted, with his help, in the carriage. It was the day that they will visit the foster house.

She brought her notebook where she wrote her favorite Disney's stories. It was one of her favorites in her previous life.

When she was telling stories from the fairy tales of her previous life, she felt that she was still in that world. Moreover, she was happy that the children found it very interesting and always looking forward to it.

The continuous visitation with a carriage became her space of relaxation. At first, she found the carriages slow and uncomfortable. Being used to ride cars in her previous life, it was one of the difficult adjustments that she had through.

She also thought that she should learn riding a horse on her own. But her father and brother did not allow her, they said that it was dangerous for a lady like her. She was happy with their protection, but sometimes, it was suffocating. Even so, she couldn't go against them, because she knew that they were both thinking her well-being.

"I wonder how would they react if they learned that I actually climbed trees.", she mused.

The carriage stopped. They reached the place. Marielle and her alighted from the carriage. Unlike from the past that the carriage cannot go inside because of the huge trees barricading the foster house, with the financial assistance of the Croix Family, the huge trees were cut down and made a road.

"Good afternoon, My Lady.", greeted and bowed by Sister Mildred.

"Good afternoon, Sister."

"Lily and the others were already at the backyard waiting for you, My Lady."

"Thank you, I will be heading to them now." She said and halted. "Marielle, you can stay here with Sister Mildred. You said that you wanted to learn more about gardening right?"

"But my lady— "

"There is nothing for you to worry about, and Caville is with me."

Caville at her side glanced to Marielle, and smiled.

"Then, I will heed your order. Thank you, My Lady.", she responded and bowed.

When the twins found her walking towards to them, both ran and greeted her with big bright smiles. "Sister Bea!"

She welcomed them with open arms and hugged them both. Lily, who were behind them, greeted her too.

"Good afternoon, Sister Bea."

Then, she loosened her hug at the twins and turned to Lily and greeted her back. "Good afternoon too, Lily. Good to see you all."

And she continued by announcing. "I brought a new story. It is about the princess and the frog."

The twins both shouted in happiness.

Praying for the safety of everyone.

Anyway, hope you enjoy this new chapter. To be honest, I'm quite felt bad about tarzan, I mean, XD Andrew, he has no idea of his developing feelings, while the other party unfortunately  saw him as her new big brother. Well, let's just see how would the story will unfold.
