CHAPTER ELEVEN: Doubts and Accomplishment

Why the heroine became the villainess?

With doubt, Ronald still tried to digest the last two paragraphs from the letter of his sister. But if it was really true, the realization of his sister to let go the young heir was a great news for him.

Not that he was against with the idea of having the former and his sister Beatrice ended up together. After all as a noble, it was an honor to have connection with high rankings, expressly, to be a part of its family, but as a big brother, he was deeply concerned about it.

He doubted if it will really bring good fortune to them, particularly to his sister because he was well aware that the young heir never showed any attraction nor interest with his sister. And one of the reasons why he was silently against it.

He doesn't want to support his sister begging for a man's love. For him, his sister deserves more than anything in this world. Truth to be told, his sister's declaration was a generous miracle for him.

While re-reading the letter made by his sister, he prayed that time will fly fast. He wished to hug her tightly and to tell her on how he was proud of her. He also proclaimed that he will do everything for his sister to never change her mind.

"Mr. President, do you want to know what I have gathered today?", Alec said with a cunning smile.

"If you will only disturb me on some unrelated work matters. You better shut up now, Alec.", he firmly ordered.

"You are too serious. I was just wanted to inform you about Lady Beatrice."

Hearing the name of the woman, from perusing the documents, Zeke stopped and abruptly turned his head to Alec. "What about that woman?", he curiously asked.

It has been a week since he received the allegedly last letter of the lady, which it seems to be true to be the last, because he never received any after it. However, he was still full of doubts regarding the lady's intention that he became wary of her movements.

As a matter of fact, he even hired men to spy the estate of the Marquess Croix. The spy was ordered to report all activities of the lady. Unexpectedly, the latter never made any suspicious movements. The reports sent to him were nothing to be cautious about. During the week, the lady never left the estate or even attended parties whom she is clearly fond of. The lady is popular of showing off her expensive dress and jewelries in all events.

"Her brother, Sir Ronald, bought books from the bookstore yesterday."

"..."

Zeke did not response immediately. He knew about the manipulative nature of his vice president so he was curious to what the man was going to add. "Books? And how does it relate to the lady?", he asked with composure.

"It was actually rumored to be a present to Lady Beatrice by Sir. Ronald.", Alec continued.

"Then, if it was just a present, the successor of Marquess Croix might just be worried about his sister's own laziness.", he languidly commented.

"Yes, it might be true. But what I have heard, the lady requested it for herself.", Alec then cunningly smiled.

"Requested? That woman, Lady Beatrice, requested books from her brother?", he unintentionally chuckled with the notion given by his vice president. "Lady Beatrice only cares about luxurious things, parties, and fashion trends. That is a pleasant joke coming from you, Alec." He added with a sound of sarcasm.

"But I am not joking nor giving misinformation, Mr. President.", Alec affirmed.

"..."

He turned and gave a look, are you serious?

"It was true. Sir Ronald said it so himself when he ordered the books from Madam Roselle."

"..."

"Further, Sir Ronald is not the type to lie with some trivial matters about her beloved sister. In fact, it was mentioned that he happily told that it was the first time his sister requested books rather dresses or jewelries.", he said thoroughly. He also cunningly added the last phrase, rather dresses or jewelries. He just wanted to stir up more the president and also his close friend, Zeke.

"..."

Zeke was befuddled. Knock knock knock

The conversation was interrupted by the knocking on the door of the Student Council Room. When Alec heard it, he excused himself and diligently approached the door leaving Zeke alone musing. "What are you trying to do, Lady Beatrice? I just really hope that you were not doing outrageous again." He consciously held his temple.

****-------****

"My Lady!", happily called by Marielle.

"Yes, Marielle?", she asked. She stopped reading and turned her head with the sudden voice of her maid entering the Library. She noticed that Marielle pushing a cart with medium box and letter envelop on it.

"My Lady, Sir Ronald's reply-letter is already here with a box.", happily announced by Marielle.

With the sound of the name of her brother, she immediately stood up from her chair and excitedly approached Marielle. "For real?", with glistening eyes, she confirmedly asked.

"Yes, My lady.", Marielle said affirmatively.

After sending her letter to the present brother, there was no day that she was impatiently waiting to receive his reply. She never missed asking Marielle every morning about it since her letter was sent. Nonetheless, she knew that Sir Ronald would never think to decline her request. Though, she also anticipated that the former might find her suspiciously, but she disregarded the idea expecting that the brother's love will prevail. And she was right.

Marielle gently handed to her the letter envelop together with a paper knife. Beatrice opened the letter and read the content. The letter has beautiful and clean curve calligraphy printed on it that you wouldn't thought it was created by the hands of a man.

"Dear My Lil' Sis,

The sun is setting down stunningly from my room here in the dormitory. The bright orange and red hues emitting by the scene made me remember the estate more and wished that you and father are here with me.

In anyway, I am happy to know that you and father is doing well there. Truth to be told, I have no idea what should I write first to you, My Lil' Sis. There are a lot of things that I wanted to share about the university, but I will not burst the bubble. I wanted you to experience it on hand; just the way I did. Afterall, where will be the fun if I tell you all the exciting part?

And my excitement replying on your letter, I forgot to tell you about my well-being here. I am doing fine and healthy here: eating healthy foods and enjoying my study.

Going back to my introduction, the University is filled of beautiful places that I know you will love to see. Nevertheless, by next year, when it is your time, I will be happy to offer you a nice tour.

With respect to your statement about the young heir of Duke Aland, I want you to know that whatever your decision, your mighty brother will always support you. Please know that I will always on your side, no matter what.

Moreover, about your request, I will send the books together with this letter. I would not deny that I was surprised by it, but I am very happy with your professed goal. And keep in mind, your brother will always be proud of you. I love you and I miss you so much.

Sincerely,

Your Brother, Ronald."

After reading the content of the letter, Roanne's mannerism of embracing the books, when she was so happy with it, displayed.

She thought that her transmigration was not bad at all. She was not living in despair nor in sufferings. She was given by both lovingly and caring brother and father. As long as she would not bother the male lead and the heroine, she will never reach the supposedly doomed fate of the villainess Beatrice as stated and written in the romance novel.

She will live happily ever after, and will marry the man with her own choosing, and will also love her in return.
