Chapter 74

The Tenebris Curse

LLOYD

You had to have eyes in the back of your head with these little ones, never able to leave them alone for even a minute. I wondered if I’d been as mischievous as a pup.

“Uncle Lloyd? Tell Don to stop holding my hand so tight,” a tearful Skyla called out as she ran to me, clutching my leg.

Only three years old, Dōnal Harris Tenebris was already a force to be reckoned with. Though he adored Skyla-Rae, his enthusiasm often got the better of him, and he’d end up being a bit too rough and didn’t know his own strength.

I scooped her up and headed to the playroom. “Don?” I called gently. He looked up, guilt flashing across his face as he frowned.

“I just wanted to show her something,” he said, his voice tinged with remorse.

“You have to be gentle, bud. If you keep hurting her, you won’t be able to play together, okay?” I said, keeping my tone calm but firm.

He sighed, his small shoulders sagging. “Okay,” he agreed, clearly disappointed.

I couldn’t help but smile at him, this little pup who had captured my heart completely. With his black hair and green eyes, he was a perfect blend of us both. I was relieved he wouldn’t have to endure teasing for gray hair like I had.

Skyla, on the other hand, was as blonde as her mother, with deep blue eyes that hinted she would be a beauty one day. Tanner was already worried and threatened to lock her away.

I glanced outside, noting the sun’s position in the sky. What was taking Misty and Chelsea so long? They were both pregnant again and they’d gone shopping.

Privately, I thought the two just wanted some time together without interruptions, but I didn’t mind watching the pups for a couple of hours.

“All right, nap time for both of you. Let’s go,” I said, extending my hand. Don immediately shook his head.

“I’m not tired, Daddy.”

“Yes, you are,” I countered, knowing the routine all too well. He fought it every day, but the moment his head hit the pillow, he’d be out like a light.

He got up grudgingly and took my hand, but I almost had to drag him. Once in the bedroom, he dutifully got in and scooted over for Skyla.

I put her down, and she climbed in next to him with a warning. “Don’t hold me tight, okay? Or I’ll tell my Daddy.”

I covered the two, then leaned against the doorjamb and waited until they were asleep with a big smile on my face. As predicted, Don was out in two seconds, and Skyla was out a minute later.

I strolled to the balcony and glanced at my phone, noticing a missed call from Luke. I called him back, and he answered almost immediately.

“Alpha, thanks for getting back to me. I need some advice.”

I chuckled, guessing he was probably looking for guidance on dealing with Yamika—a situation I wasn’t exactly an expert on.

“Go ahead, what’s up?”

“She’s driving me insane,” he grumbled.

“What happened this time?”

“She stood me up. Again.”

“Luke, this is all new for her. She’s been a familiar for centuries—having a mate wasn’t something she ever expected. She drops by often, so I’ll have a word with her, but I can’t promise it’ll change anything.”

“Thanks, I appreciate it. Never thought I’d be such a whiner.”

“No problem. I’ll call you.”

I cut the call and heard the lift ping. Perfect timing—I could smell Misty’s arousal from here.

They walked in with several shopping bags. “Are they asleep?” Chelsea asked.

I nodded. “Just.”

“Okay, great. Send her over when she wakes. Thanks.”

She disappeared with a wave, and I pulled Misty into my arms. “This tummy is growing daily,” I smiled, running my hand over it.

“You know just how to make me feel attractive,” she bitched. “And I’m so horny I can’t think straight.”

I scooped her up, carried her to the bedroom, and set her on the bed. “You’re gorgeous, and I love this tummy.”

She stood up, pulled the dress over her head, and knelt on the bed. I ran my fingers under her G-string and yanked it off while she moaned throatily. She’d been insatiable during this pregnancy, but I wasn’t complaining.

“Don’t make me wait. I need you now,” she ordered.

I knelt and kneaded her ass and let my tongue run along her pussy lips before delving in and tongue-fucking her. I knew the minute I sucked that clit into my mouth, she would orgasm, and I liked teasing her a little.

“Oh, yes, more…,” she moaned.

Dropping my pants, I cupped her and let my fingers explore before prodding her glistening entrance while she wiggled her ass as if to tell me to hurry up. Feeding half my length into her wet channel, then inching back.

Annoyance came through the bond, and it was all I could do not to laugh.

“Lloyd,” she warned.

I slammed into her and stopped, gyrating my hips till she moaned in pleasure. I ran my hands down her spine and over those delicious curves and her tummy repeatedly. She was so sexy when pregnant.

“More, please,” she begged.

“Okay, my sweet mate. Get ready.”

Grabbing hold of her hips, I withdrew and slammed back into her. Increasing my pace and my thrusts, I hoped I wasn’t hurting the pup, but Dr. Hurst had assured me that was not possible.

“Faster, harder, please…”

I complied, fucking her hard, and when I felt her tighten around me like a glove, I reached around and pinched her clit. She exploded around me, and I followed, ejaculating deep inside her, so turned on by her needy moans.

And not a moment too soon. “Uncle Lloyd,” Skyla called out, her voice dangerously close.

With a flick of her wrist, Misty closed the bedroom door.

“You’re getting better and better.” I grinned, kissing her cheek before slipping from her weeping pussy.

At first, Misty hadn’t explored her powers much. But one day, she closed the fridge with a flick of her hand. Then she started pushing the elevator button with her mind—and so it went.

She didn’t advertise her abilities, preferring to keep them low-key, but I knew she loved using them.

Collapsing onto the bed, Misty turned sideways, and I drank in the beautiful sight of her tummy, her eyes half closed and her voice breathy. “I know, and I love it. I don’t think I’ll ever be as powerful as Kiralah was, but I don’t mind.”

“Uncle Lloyd!” Skyla’s voice whined from outside the door. She wasn’t tall enough to reach the handle.

“I’m coming,” I called out, quickly pulling up my jeans.

Gently covering Misty, who was already drifting into sleep, I whispered, “Rest. I’ll be right back.”

Skyla never napped for more than half an hour, and I’d be returning her to her mother directly.

Could life get any better?
