“Whatever, it’s none of her business!” Rosalind said irritably.

If it weren’t for marrying Nydia, her son wouldn’t have suffered so much.

“Mom, please stop.” Sibley noticed Nydia’s changes. She thought that if Nydia really wanted to change for the better, as a mother of two children, it would be better for the children to grow up in an environment where both parents are present, of course, provided that Nydia doesn’t cause any more drama.

Jesse coughed lightly.

“The drama today ends here. I have two points to make. First, the Pascall family rules are abolished from now on and can no longer be used!”

Andrew frowned, “These are traditions passed down by our ancestors. How can we just abolish them?”

“In the future, the Pascall family will be under my control. What I say goes. It sounds nice to call them family rules, but if they are not, they are just violence.”

Andrew’s face looked ugly, but he didn’t say anything.

“The second point is that Nydia and I will deal with our own affairs. If she really harms the children or crosses my bottom line, I will divorce her. You don’t need to worry.”

These two points offended both Andrew and Rosalind. Nydia’s hand holding the glass trembled. She knew very well that Jesse’s words were all for her.

Andrew and Rosalind were both very angry, but they also knew Jesse’s temper. What he said was final and could not be refused.

If it weren’t for their age, they might not have wanted to deal with this son anymore and would prefer to raise a small dog instead.

Rosalind looked at Nydia with resentment in her eyes, while Nydia lowered her head and drank her tea. Her ears were buzzing, and the pain made her feel like the sounds around her were sometimes far away, sometimes close.

Vincent came over with a nurse.

“Vincent is here, come and take a look at Jesse.” Rosalind greeted Vincent.

“You guys go to the room. Nydia, go to my room.” Sibley arranged.

Vincent didn’t know what had happened yet.

“You and the nurse come with me first.” Jesse said.

Upon entering the room, Jesse took off his shirt and the nurse let out a scream, as his back was covered in blood and looked very gruesome.

“What is this…”

“He received family punishment. You tell the nurse how to handle it and let her go help Nydia.” Jesse said to Vincent.

“She also received family punishment. What are you guys doing?”

“We’ll talk about it later.”

Vincent instructed the nurse on how to treat such injuries.

“It’s okay, it’s just a skin injury.”

“My sister did it.”

Vincent breathed a sigh of relief, thankful that it wasn’t Andrew who did it, otherwise it might have been worse.

He cleaned the wound and applied medicine. The wound did not need stitches, and although it looked scary at first glance, it wasn’t too large.

The nurse understood what to do, as she was a competent nurse at school, and she took the necessary supplies to help Nydia in Sibley’s room.

“Your situation is better than his. His back is really bad.” The nurse said to Nydia.

“But you have delicate skin and it must hurt, why do you still have family punishment?” The nurse couldn’t understand such behavior.

Sibley felt embarrassed on the side, as she was the one who hit Nydia.

“If it hurts, just yell out. The wound must be cleaned properly, or it could easily become infected.”

“It’s okay.” Nydia tightly held onto Sibley’s pillow, biting her own lips as there was nothing else to bite. Her mouth tasted bloody and sweet.

After applying medicine, the nurse wrapped her in gauze.

“What happened to your arm?” The nurse noticed a large bruise on Nydia’s arm.

“I accidentally bumped into something.”

Sibley felt a pang in her heart, as she knew it was from Rosalind hitting her.

The nurse looked thoughtfully at Sibley, making her feel even more ashamed. If it weren’t for the nurse seeing Jesse’s injuries, she might have thought they were abusing Nydia and would have called the police when leaving.
