Chapter 57
Reborn Before The Divorce
âWhen you married into the family, you should have understood what the Pascall family rules were. Itâs not too late to reconsider now,â Andrew said, ignoring the others and looking at Nydia.
Every large family has its own rules and regulations, which are rarely used in todayâs society governed by law. However, in special circumstances, family rules can still be applied. Nydia knew this, but her face showed no hesitation. âI donât regret it. Please, letâs use the family rules.â
âDad, I donât agree!â Jesse said.
âThis is what she asked for. You have no right to disagree!â Andrewâs words were indisputable.
âI made a mistake before and I should be punished. Itâs okay, I can handle it,â Nydia reassured Jesse with a smile.
But Jesseâs face darkened, and he coldly ordered, âShut up!â
However, Nydia was not afraid. She walked up to him and held his hand, saying, âTrust me!â
He wanted to pull his hand away, but Nydia held it tightly. Although her hand was cold, he felt a strange heat coming from her.
It had been many years since the Pascall family had used their family rules. âCome with us to the Pascall Manor,â Andrew said.
âDad, do we have toâ¦â Sibley felt it wasnât necessary to take it this far. She could feel that Jesse didnât agree, and if he hit Nydia today, he wouldnât let it go easily.
Now that Tavish was fine and it wasnât Nydiaâs fault, maybe they should just let it go.
But Andrew glanced at her, and even though he was old, the authority in his eyes was still strong enough to silence Sibley.
Jesse and Nydia followed them to the Pascall Manor, leaving the two children behind.
At first, Molly and Tavish insisted on going with them.
But Nydia half-knelt on the ground and spoke softly to the two of them, âMommy should accept the punishment if I did something wrong. Every action requires a price, and itâs Mommyâs responsibility. You also need to remember that youâll be punished if you make a mistake.â
âOkay, you two wait at home first. Mommy and Daddy will be back soon.â
She hugged the two children and ordered the two nannies to leave them behind.
On the way to the Pascall Manor, Andrew, Rosalind, and Sibley were in one car.
Nydia and Jesse were in another car.
Jesse didnât speak all the way, and neither did Nydia. She looked out the window but felt calm inside.
She had always wanted to account for what she had done wrong, and now this family rule was not punishment but redemption for her.
They arrived at the Pascall Manor.
Andrew took out a whip, which was well preserved and brushed with a special oil for preservation, making it look shiny.
The whip also had spikes on it. When it was whipped, the spikes would pierce the skin, making it much more painful than an ordinary whip.
Sibley looked at the whip with fear in her eyes and looked at Nydia. Nydiaâs face, however, was more calm than afraid.
âIâm ready,â Nydia took a deep breath and knelt down.
âBring the saltwater,â Andrewâs voice was very cold.
The whip had to be dipped in saltwater before being whipped, which was the ultimate use of family rules.
âDad, do we really need to use saltwater?â Sibley couldnât bear it. It was enough to whip her a few times with the whip. Why use saltwater?
âShe requested family rules, so of course, we have to follow the rules!â
However, Jesseâs wheelchair made a sound as it rolled on the ground, and he had already arrived next to Nydia.
âShe was married into this family by me, so I should bear the punishment.â
His words made Nydia widen her eyes in shock.
