Chapter 37
Reborn Before The Divorce
ââ¦â
Willette, who was already upset, became even more unhappy.
âNydia, Iâm so upset.â She immediately went over and grabbed Nydiaâs hand, but Nydia deliberately reached for something to avoid her hand.
âWhatâs wrong?â
âItâs, itâs Barclay, he, he bullied me.â Willette said, tears welling up in her eyes, looking very aggrieved.
Nydia immediately looked very surprised. âHe bullied you? Sister, we have to call the police.â
As she spoke, she took out her phone to make a call, scaring Willette, who immediately grabbed her hand. âNydia, what are you doing?â
âDidnât you say he bullied you, sister?â she innocently blinked her eyes.
âNot that kind of bullying, letâs go to the bedroom and talk about it.â
âSister, Jesseâs not home. Letâs just talk here. He already doesnât trust me, if we go to the bedroom, heâll use this against me again. I canât give him any more leverage, or I wonât be able to get a divorce.â Willette looked around and saw that the servants were not present, so she thought it would be okay to talk here.
âLast time, he got drunk and you didnât go pick him up, remember? He never came home, and I couldnât get through to him on the phone. Later, when I asked him, he said he stayed at a friendâs house for one night.â
âDid you check with his friend?â
âI did, and his friend said the same thing, but thatâs his friend. Of course he would defend him. My intuition tells me that something was not right that night.â
âSister, could it be that youâre overthinking it?â
âNo, heâs been cold to me lately. Do you think he might cancel the engagement?â When Willette asked this question, she was really worried.
âSister, heâs cold to you because of what happened before, and because you donât trust him. If heâs good to you, you should be more suspicious, maybe heâs done something wrong.â
âIs that so?â It seemed to make some sense.
Nydia nodded.
âIt must be like that. You two have such a good relationship, and youâre not promiscuous. How could anything happen?â
Willette felt embarrassed, as if Nydia was mocking her if she didnât know her well.
As they were talking, two heads popped up, it was Molly and Tavish.
âWhat are you two doing? Come here, Aunt Willette is here.â
Molly and Tavish looked at each other and slowly walked towards Nydia.
âHello, Aunt Willette.â The two children shouted in unison.
âHello, it feels like itâs been a while since Iâve seen you, youâve grown taller.â Willette took a look around and complimented them.
Molly circled Willette and muttered something under her breath, which was inaudible.
âWhat are you looking for?â Nydia asked.
âAunt Willette, didnât the teacher say that when you visit someone, you should bring a gift? Otherwise itâs impolite.â Molly looked puzzled and asked Tavish.
âShh, Molly, you canât say that to Aunt Willette, sheâll be upset.â Tavish pulled Molly to his side, then turned to Willette and said, âAunt Willette, itâs okay, you have a good relationship with Mommy, and we donât need gifts, and besides, our family isnât lacking anything.â
ââ¦â Why did these two children speak in such a strange manner?
Tavish went to the refrigerator, opened it, turned around and asked, âAunt Willette, do you drink green tea?â
