Chapter 32

Jesse came home for dinner, and Nydia had cooked the meal. There was codfish soup, a milky-white soup that tasted especially fresh and was suitable for children’s taste buds. There was also Cassoulet and a salad.

“You two, eat less. It’s a bit spicy,” Nydia reminded the children.

“It’s spicy but delicious. It’s crispy and delicious, isn’t it, brother?”

Tavish nodded and agreed, his lips turning red from the spiciness. He immediately drank a mouthful of fish soup and took a bite of meat, which made him feel more comfortable.

There was also a plate of chicken wings.

“Shall I serve you a bowl of fish soup for you to taste?” Nydia asked Jesse.

Seeing the two children so satisfied, Jesse wanted to taste it too and nodded.

He took a sip, and couldn’t taste any fishy flavor, but he could taste the deliciousness of the soup. It seemed to have a hint of herbal taste, but it was very light and blended perfectly with the soup.

After drinking a few sips, his stomach warmed up.

Seeing him finish the soup, Nydia breathed a sigh of relief. She had added some herbs to the fish soup, but in small amounts. However, people with sensitive taste buds could still taste it. This herb was specifically for strengthening the body and was helpful for children too.

She decided to make more herbal meals for Jesse in the future, and she had to make sure he couldn’t taste the herbs. She had been observing what Jesse liked to eat these days. She had never paid attention to it before, so she didn’t know his preferences.

“Mommy, can you give Molly a bath tonight?” Molly cuddled up to Nydia after finishing her meal.

“Sure.”

After resting for a while, Nydia and Julia bathed Molly together. Nydia took the initiative to invite Julia to prevent any suspicion.

Molly played with water during the bath, splashing it all over herself.

“You little rascal, Mommy is going to attack you too.” Nydia also splashed water on Molly, and the two of them had fun.

Julia watched this scene and felt warm inside. In all the years she had been at the Pascall Villa, she had never seen Nydia and the children get along so well. Had Nydia really changed?

“Oh, Mommy, what happened to your neck?” Molly spotted the injury on Nydia’s neck, and Nydia tried to cover it up but it was too late.

“Can I tell you later?” She didn’t want to say anything with Julia around. There were some things that the servants shouldn’t know.

“Okay.” Molly was a smart child and didn’t give up easily. Nydia brought Molly to the room, and Tavish hadn’t finished taking a shower yet.

“Mommy, please tell me what’s going on?”

“Daddy bit me.”

Molly’s eyes widened instantly, “Daddy bit you? Why did Daddy bite Mommy?”

“Because Mommy made Daddy angry.”

“But Daddy shouldn’t bite Mommy. Daddy is not a gentleman. How can he be rough with an elegant lady?”

Nydia burst out laughing, how can a young child talk like that?

“Is Mommy an elegant lady?”

“Yes, Mommy is an elegant lady. Daddy is a handsome gentleman, no, Daddy bullied Mommy, so he is not a gentleman anymore. I want to go and criticize him.”

Saying that, Molly was about to get up from the bed and find Jesse.

“Then you go criticize Daddy. If Daddy gets upset, will Molly be scared?”

“No!” She waved her little fist and said seriously, “Brave Molly, not afraid of difficulties!”

Nydia was amused by Molly’s words.

When Tavish came in, he saw the two of them chatting and laughing.

“Tavish, are you done taking a shower? Get into bed, and Mommy will tell you a story.”

“What were you talking about just now?” He seemed to find it funny.

Without waiting for Nydia to speak, Molly said directly, “This is a secret between us girls. We can’t tell my brother.”

Tavish snorted lightly, “I don’t want to know either.”
